I just realized this has a lot of characters included here but trust it'll wear down soon. Trying to keep up with my stories as often as I can. thanks for reading!

Typing on a computer could be heard inside a lone office building located near a rural Texas town. It was late at night and there was not much office furniture put up except for one where a single woman was typing away at. Suddenly she stopped to look up near a window and saw a light flicker signal at her.

Getting up from her chair, she walked towards the front door, pressing a security button that allowed the door to open. In walked in was a man, her underling on duty.

"What happened?" She asked as the man closed the door and locked it behind him.

"Things don't look so good buttercream. SOS out in the southwest fracture of Texas." He answered as he leaned against the door.

The woman pouted heavily at this news, scowling as she walked back to her office and shut down her computer while taking her coat.

Another mess to clean up

Both hopped into the man's truck speeding off into the night. For them, an SOS could be many things all of which weren't good in their line of experience.

"Who made the report?" The woman asked the man who was driving.

"You remember that family we took a visit to not too long ago that took in abandoned pups? Their lil family friend Jordan warned about some danger to those pups and himself and our activist Caz."

Caz. The boy that wants to make a difference.

"I knew he was always gonna find trouble in his line of work. Poor dumb boys."

"Yeah Chiquita...but it's ehhh. It's a shit ton deeper than that."

Chiquita looked over to him now more concerned than ever, "What the hell do you mean by that, Grant?"

Grant sighed as a worried expression contorted his face. Carefully, he explained the event Jordan had reported to him over the phone in a panic, that humans were keeping some of their kind captives and even though they called upon help, they were calling on the wrong kind of help. That being the Australian pack that just recently migrated to the United States in Texas no less.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" Chiquita screamed out in horror, "DON'T THEY KNOW THOSE INBRED ANIMALS NEEDED TO BE PROTECTED AFTER ALL THIS TIME AND EFFORT WE PUT IN GETTING THEM HERE?! AND FOR FUCKS SAKE HOW DID ANY OF THEM GET CAPTURED?!"

"I know, I know," Grant responded trying not to aggravate the situation even more than it already was, "Look I already called backup ok? All hands on deck for this one, everyone has been called on, Chiquita."

Pulling up to an abandoned lot in the middle of nowhere where a large group of people was waiting, Chiquita flew out of the truck as soon as it stopped. She marched over to face the whole group before shouting her commands.

"Alright you sons of bitches, listen up!" It went quiet as everyone stood at attention intensely, "As Grant has already told y'all, some of our youngins are being held, hostage. By not by our own...by some humans!"

People gasped and began to chatter until Grant whistled to shut them up so Chiquita could speak again.

"That being said there needs to be a scouring done. And it will most likely be no human left alive. We don't know if they've seen any of them transformed yet, but guarantee we will stay in the darkness. Now, more upsetting is I'm sure y'all heard about the new pack we adopted into this state."

Rubbing her face with one hand Chiquita couldn't believe the amount of stress she was feeling before continuing to give the bad news, "They've most likely been captured by this time too."

"No fucking way!"

"How could this have happened!"

"Bloodshed I tell ya! waiting for them!"

"QUIET!" Chiquita roared out cutting the noise to silence.

"As all of yall know, keeping our "melting pot stirring" is what has guaranteed our survival. We ain't gonna let no pussy skins kill our good & strong blooded kin. A location has been given out by Grant to you all, we're headin' there. Stay alert and stay alive. Whatever you shift into make sure you send out your messages. Our pack thinking is the only way we're gonna get any of 'em out alive. And the only way we're gonna keep our lives in the shadows. Set out now! Y'all are on mind command!"

Walking briskly back to the truck, the group of fellow shifters morphed into a flock of birds. Flying off to the location Jordan had gotten from Freddie.

Since Chiquita was the leader of the Texas pack, she had to stay behind until things would get safe. She had to be protected no matter what as Grant, her right-hand man, would promise that.

On the road again, Grant could see the stress, anger, and panic all over his Alphas face. It made him a bit scared but knew they would win this fight with whoever captured the pups and the Australian pack.

"They come out of this alive then what?"

"Oh c'mon now," Chiquita said rolling her eyes, "I can think of our due process shit right now when the shit situation ain't even over yet."

"Yeah, I know I know. But it's still something important...Caz and Jordan might have to be put to death over this. I know you have a soft spot for those boys, but it's most likely what's gonna have to be now."

Chiquita knew in her heart that she didn't want to have to conclude to that but she also knew in her mind that the laws of their land. Which does dictate execution if a shifter had let it be known, directly or indirectly of their existence to a human.

Sure the humans would know hell, no doubt about it, once everyone swarms them. But Chiquita hoped they weren't found out.

She knew however, that was only wishful thinking.
