This is the last chapter of this book, but Rebekah's story will continue in book three. This was not my original plan and much of this book did not exist at first but as I started to edit it I realized there was a lot missing and that Rebekah held a lot on her shoulders. So now I have split her story into different books and I hope if you are not already catching on to what I am doing book three will help you catch on. That being said I hope you enjoy this chapter and have enjoyed this part of the story. I own nothing.
"What do you mean dad?"
"I think you know."
"Honestly I have no idea, there is a lot going on right now. It could be a number of things that you want to know about." I say as I walk over to the seating area and set down. The rest follow and Nat sits next to me.
"I think you know what he is talking about." She tells me.
"No, not really."
"Do you really have that many secrets?"
"You would be amazed at the things I know. Phil used to tell me it is because I spent too much time letting Mel teach me how to sneak around without getting caught. She said it was his fault for always sneaking me ice cream. Either way, I'm pretty sure they are not the only ones who taught me to listen to everything without anyone knowing you are there. So I have overheard a lot of things over the years. You have to be really specific in what you want me to say."
"Well the rest of us are just as in the dark as you," Clint tells me.
"So something dad and Nat know. That really helps me guys."
"Where have you been spending all of your time?"
"Right now work, cleaning things up left and right. Trying to recover from nearly being killed like 20 times in a three-day span. Take your pick."
"Before, you were leaving a lot and not coming home."
"What when I stayed at the house? I do that all the time. I have from the time we moved back here. You know I like it there. It feels so much more open and free. You know I spend a lot of time there. Plus I did tell Pepper. She's fine with it and knows I am an adult and safe as well."
"I mean who have you been spending time with? You don't go shopping a lot, or out to eat or anything like that. Yet lately you have. You come home in new clothes and different things than what you were wearing when you left. You are being very sneaky. What are you doing?"
"I planned to tell you all and wanted to do it differently but this will have to work. I have been seeing someone."
"You are dating?"
"That was not what I thought you would say."
"I thought you were never dating again."
"If you remember dad I said only if I found someone who was worthy of me and loved me for me, not my last name."
"Love? Oh no, you really did get married in Vegas didn't you?"
"No dad, I did not get married in Vegas, and I am not married now. I have been dating him for a while though."
"A while? How long is a while? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because Nat you get a little protective and I also wanted to see where the relationship would go without everyone watching us and making comments about it. But I love him and he loves me. Well, I am pretty sure he does. Plus I know how dad is."
"Who is he?"
"Technically you do know him."
"Is it someone from SHIELD?"
"In a way Clint."
"It is Trip."
"No it is not Trip dad, he is my friend that I have been working with."
"Then who else could it be?"
"It's not me."
"Not me."
"I am not with Lady Rebekah."
"It's not any of us, it's not like it is Steve," Clint said. Steve and I both stay quiet.
"No way, you and Steve?"
"When did this happen?"
"I don't know for a while. He makes me incredibly happy."
"I know this is not something you expected Tony but I can promise you this. I love Rebekah and I will not hurt her."
"Captain America" dad said.
"Well, I could date someone else if you would like. But I'm pretty sure Steve is like the best guy around so if you want me to be with someone who will use me…"
"No, no, no, no. I don't like you dating anyone. But I know Pepper would yell at me if I don't keep my cool and then I will have all of these people mad at me if I make you upset. So I will say this. I don't like the fact that my baby girl is growing up and all but If you have to date anyone I am glad it is someone who I know will respect you and treat you like the queen you are."
"Thank you, daddy." He walks over to me and we hug.
Once he pulls away he looks at Steve.
"Just know Rogers you hurt my little girl and you will wish they never found you in that ice."
"I understand, but I would never do anything to intentionally hurt her."
"I just can't believe you have been dating this whole time and never said anything."
"Well Nat, apparently I am really good if I hid it from some of the best-trained agents."
"How long have you been dating?"
"Well, you remember the girl's trip?"
"The Vegas one?"
"The New Orleans one."
"That long?"
"Well technical after that. You know that talk in the tub. It really got me thinking and I decided to go for it."
"Talk in a tub?" Dad asks.
"Yes dad, when you have a huge tub you turn on the bubbles and you relax, it was a girl's trip. We have done some crazy things on them."
"Now there are so many more questions."
"That you will never get answers to Clint. What happens on a girl's trip…"
"Stays on a girl's trip. Nat and Mel taught me that when I was 15."
"Now I worry what else they have taught you."
"Don't, mom was at that one. It was one of the last trips we all went on before everything happened. It was one of the best weeks ever."
"It really was. I'm glad our tub talk helped you."
"That sounds so bad Nat."
"I know that is what makes it so funny. I just can't believe you two have been letting me try and set both of you up with people and you have been dating all of this time."
"What can I say, I'm good at keeping secrets."
"Did anyone know?" Clint spoke up.
"Well, I talked to maybe a few people."
"What would that mean?"
"Well Peggy knew, I always talk to her and it felt right."
"Anyone else?"
"Well…"
"Who knew?" Dad asked.
"Mel and now her team as well. They found out right before this a few days ago now. Also my team you know Bells, Kara, Sam, David, Trip. You know all of them, dad."
"All of those people knew before me?"
"Ya, I think Pepper knew as well, she just didn't say anything."
"So I am last to know."
"The whole world doesn't know yet."
"That makes me feel so much better."
"It could be you found out from the news or a talk show, or a tabloid. You are lucky you heard it from me first. You know how everyone has been with Avengers and how people are with Starks. Really, I am just surprised we have been able to keep it a secret this long. I thought for sure someone would catch on before due to the fact I spent most of my time with Steve. Plus I'm glad JARVIS didn't tell on me."
"JARVIS you know buddy?"
"I'm sorry sir but Miss. Stark asked me not to say anything and you have told me to always respect her privacy and boundaries. You said she would tell you things you need to know."
"Wow, even use JARVIS against me."
"That is not what I did. I just asked him not to tell you when I left or came in with Steve or share the video."
"What video?" Nat asked with a smirk on her face.
"One of us kissing."
"I didn't know you had it in you to sneak around. I'm so proud."
"Natasha I don't think that is something to be proud of."
"You are just saying that because she's your daughter Stark. At Least she is not out like you, Partying the way that you used to."
"O please don't ever do that."
"Don't worry, I am very happy with my life as is. That includes dating Steve. So I do really need you to be alright with it."
"I will be the man that she deserves Tony. I know she deserves the world and I want to give it all to her. I don't plan on ever going anywhere. The only place I want to be is with her. I know we did not get along at first but I do love your daughter and would like you and me to get along. I want this to all work out for her. I will protect her and keep her safe even though she can hold her own and I will be the guy she needs, whatever she may need."
"Well, Rogers as much as I don't like my daughter dating and well we did not see eye to eye at first. I did see the way you protected her. How you keep her safe and shield her from anything that tries to hurt her. You bring out a side to her that I was worried was lost forever. While I may not like sharing my baby girl with anyone. Let alone letting another guy into her life, I'm glad it is you. She's right she can do worse but she can't do much better than you."
"Thank you. I promise not to let her down."
"I know, you are who she needs and wants."
"I was worried you would be a lot harder to convince than this."
"Baby girl, all I have ever wanted was for you to be happy. How can I stop you from doing something that makes you so very happy? If being with Steve brings this smile to your face then I will be on board. Because I love to see you so very happy and I will do anything to make sure you keep smiling."
"I love you, you know that right? No matter who comes into my life you will always be the guy that loved me first. And I will always love you."
"I love you as well baby girl, Always." He pulled me into another hug and I savored the moment, knowing that like all other good and beautiful moments this would come to an end and time would move on but I didn't care at this moment.
Looking around I saw some of the people I love, who were happy for me and had my back. They just cared enough to be here for me. That was all you could really ask for in life. Some really good memories and some really amazing people to love you and be by your side through all of the crazy moments that life brings.
