Bella giggled and closed her eyes as the wind rushed by her face as Kol ran. She sighed, feeling like she was falling but she knew that Kol would never drop her, never let her fall - he'd protect her, always. And she would protect him too. They arrived and Kol set her down, before pulling her close to his body.

"Are you ready, poppet?" Kol kissed her head and Bella nodded, pulling away from him with a kiss to his neck as she gestured behind him with her head. He sighed, turning to face his family.

"Well, lot, welcome to supernatural 101, where do we start?" Kol said and Bella, of course, rolled her eyes causing everyone to relax. They needed her head here, ready to work.

"I'm ready, relax." Bella rolled her eyes again and the group smiled sheepishly - sans Elijah and Nik for obvious reasons.

"Okay, Rebekah is here now for moral support - your emotional coach if you will," Elijah started with a smirk and Rebekah glared at her brother before smiling softly at Bella. Bella laughed lightly and winked at Rebekah before refocusing on Elijah.

"I will help with your family history, Niklaus with your wolf and Kol with your witch. You will work with us once a week; Monday with Nik, Tuesday with Kol, Wednesday with me and Thursday with Rebekah. Just to talk through what you learned with someone who could relate to being thrust into a world they didn't understand nor want." Elijah explained.

"Alright, since today is Monday, Nik gets to train you first." Elijah nodded toward a smirking Nik before continuing.

"We can stay and watch you train for moral support or we can give you your privacy and go back to the main house, whatever you feel comfortable with, Bella." The Mikaelson's nodded in agreement and Bella's brows furrowed, thinking over how she wanted this to go.

"Well," She started hesitantly. "I don't want yall watching me practice, it'll just make me nervous but," She stopped, trying to find the right words to express what she felt but Nik frowned and stopped her, his voice cold as he spoke, his scowl prominent.

"It's understandable that you'd be wary of being alone with me, Bella, with what I've done in the past to your friends but I would never hurt you - or your friends - Bella. Not when you've become so - you're family now." He explained and while his words were sweet his voice was terse, obviously angrily distraught at the idea of Bella being scared of him and Bella smiled softly at him.

"I'm not scared of you, Niklaus, I just -" She hesitated again before rushing it out, scared to make another Mikaelson think she didn't like them or some other worst case scenario they seemed to like to conjure up about their personality and likeability.

"I have a bad feeling. I have for a while now, but ... it's different now - stronger. Like something bad is going to happen, and sooner than we all want it to." Everyone glanced at each other in silent communication and Bella looked around the field patiently, giving the Mikaelson's time to have their silent discussion.

"We'll leave but stay close enough to where if anything happens, we can get here quickly." Elijah informed her with a small smile before, with a small breeze, she was left alone with Nik.

"So," She started awkwardly, unsure what to do in a situation like this as she'd never been in one but was almost certain Nik had. Unless she was reading his smug, amused-filled smirk incorrectly, she'd say she hit it right on the head.

"What do we do now?" She finished, shuffling, as she looked to Nik questioningly.

"What we do now is get you acquainted with the basics. Your wolf is very possessive, volatile, and quick to anger. You have to be able to control it, yeah?" Nik raised his eyebrow expectantly.

"Right." Bella nodded, though with my past performance hopped up on cold-one venom, I had a few doubts.

"Now, today we're going to practice shifting and being in control of your wolf form. Since it's your first time shifting it may be painful, and since it's not a full moon it may be a little bit more difficult. I brought this ring I had enchanted to help you. Now, are you ready?"

The next few hours were spent in agonizing pain as Nik forced me to transform over and over, forcing my human mind to stay in control of my wolf. It was painful and exhausting because my wolf really hated giving over control to me. She wanted Kol, she wanted him in ways I wasn't prepared for, and she thought I was weak for not being able to give him what a mate should. It was hard suppressing her mating urges; they were akin to how I felt when he growled, just ten times more intense. And the worst part was I wanted to give in, I wanted to ditch Nik, find Kol, and give in to my urges. I just was too scared. Scared that I'm not enough for him, scared that this would be another Edward Cullen situation. Where's he's everything I dreamed of, until he wasn't. And I hated that I thought like that, I knew Kol was different but I just couldn't help it.

"Bella! Are you alright?" I shook my thoughts away and focused back on Nik.

"Yeah," I muttered. "just tired. Can this be all for today?" I asked pleadingly and Nik sighed.

"I didn't mean to push you so hard, little swan. Of course, go rest." He nodded toward the house with a slight frown on his face and I forced myself to smile.

"You didn't, I promise, it was just … My first time as a wolf, ya know." I shrugged and Nik finally cracked a smile.

"I do know, now go rest. I'll see you about your wolf next week." I nodded and walked to the house slowly.

"Kol?" I called out softly, knowing he'd hear me anywhere he was in the house and he appeared in front of me in a matter of seconds.

"Yes, poppet?"

"Could you carry me back home? I'm a little too sleepy to do it myself." I asked sheepishly.

"Of course, darling." He lifted me into his arms and dashed me to my room at my cousin's and aunt's house.

"Thanks." I said as he hoisted my back down onto the floor.

"Can I - Do you want me to go?" Kol shuffled and it was the first time I'd ever seen him unsure.

"I want you to stay." I nodded and his usual cheeky smirk appeared.

"Well of course you do," He smirked. "I'll go get you some food and let the little Gilbert's know how you're faring. You change, I'll be back in a jiffy." He winked, then he was gone.

I took a quick shower and changed into some sleep shorts and a tank before brush my teeth and hair. There were knots and dirt and I could only imagine how I looked when I called out to Kol. I made myself presentable before sitting on my bed with my grimoire. My ancestors made witchcraft look so easy but I had no control over any part of my 'gifts'. My wolf was Kol crazed, my magic was unstable, and don't get me started on my human emotions that confuse me on the best of days.

"I come bearing gifts." Kol sang as he entered the room.

"How is-"

"They're fine. Understanding, and more than a bit irritating." He rolled his eyes and I smiled softly.

"Thanks for this, Kol."

"No problem at all, poppet." He smiled, his eyes roaming my face with more than a slight bit of worry.

"Now, I have a salad, burger, fries and a milkshake from the grill. Dig in, poppet."

"Thanks." I ate as quickly as I showered and fell asleep almost just as fast.

I woke up to a warm body snuggled against me and the morning chirps of birds outside. I stretched and woke up Kol in the process of me untangling myself as I got out of the bed.

"Go back to sleep, I'll be right back." He moaned in disagreement but fell back asleep nonetheless.

I creeped down the stairs, catching Aunt Jenna, Elena, and Jeremy at the counter in the kitchen drinking coffee.

"Good morning, guys." I half smiled.

"Are you … talking to us? Nicely? In the morning?" Jeremy gasped dramatically.

"Oh, hush." I rolled my eyes. "Have you guys had breakfast yet?"

"We're heading to the grill, but thanks anyway." Elena responded with a smile.

"Okay…" I said slowly, somewhat suspicious.

"Relax, we're just meeting up with the gang to discuss summer plans. And we won't forget to update you when we see you later." Jeremy tried to appease my suspicion, and with a hug they were off.

I frowned but figured there was only so much trouble they could get into and continued to make myself, Aunt Jenna, and Kol some breakfast.

"How have you been Aunt Jenna, I feel like I haven't seen you since I got here."

"Good," she sighed over her coffee mug. "tired, but good. You?"

"Eh, can't complain." I shrugged.

"I heard you got a new boyfriend." She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

"Um," I blushed. "yeah." I bit my lip knowing what was coming.

"Just be careful, Bella. I worry about you."

"Don't. I'm fine, promise. And he's… he's really good to me." I said, sincerely. Her eyes bore into mine for what seemed like forever and whatever she seemed to be looking for in them she seemed to find.

"Good." She nodded, grabbing some eggs and bacon and heading off.

"I'm headed to work but be careful, there's pepper spray in the cabinet! Love you!" And with the slam of the door, there was just me.

I gathered the fresh-cooked food and headed upstairs.

"Wake-wakey, eggs and bakey." I sang. "I come bearing gifts."

"Hm, funny." Kol muttered with his sleepy voice, and his sleepy eyes watched as I entered the room. I placed the food onto the bad and plopped myself beside him.

"So," I started as I munched on some bacon. "witch lessons today, huh. Got anything exciting planned?"

"Anytime you spend with me, darling, is bound to be exciting." Kol smirked before biting into his eggs.

"Oh, c'mon, Kol." I whined. "You're not gonna give me anything? No hints?" I pulled out my puppy-dog eyes and hoped it worked.

"Sorry, poppet, I'm leaving it a surprise." And no such luck.

"Oh, stop pouting. Trust me, you'll enjoy it." He smirked.
