"I need to swing by an organic spice shop and pick up some tea for Adalind."

"I thought she was over the morning sickness?"

"It's not morning sickness, it's stress. Adalind's worried about a lot of stuff, like the health of the baby, and needs something to help her relax. She mentioned picking herself up some tea after work, but since we're going to be in that area anyway, I figured I could do it."

Hank gave Nick a knowing look with a sly grin on his face, but said nothing.

Adalind had mentioned the little shop as a preferred place for many wesen, especially hexenbiest. None of the products were grown with pesticides that would interfere in an adverse way with spells.

No harsh chemicals told Nick it was also ideal for pregnant women.

He entered the shop to the sound of a little bell. Looking around, he was instantly reminded of witches' cottages in fantasy movies.

A man came from the back area and greeted the grimm.

"May I help you, sir?"

"Do you have something to soothe the nerves of a pregnant hexenbiest?"

"A pregnant hexenbiest? I have some tea that's always effective. It's herbal, so be sure to steep it for five minutes. Less than that, you might as well just be drinking hot water."

Nick ordered a small bag to start with. If Adalind liked the stuff, he could always return for more.

"Please assure your wife that there won't be any harm to the baby. And please come back for organic remedies to any of your family's ailments."

"I will, thank you." Nick replied automatically, not bothering to correct the shop owner.

On his way home, he thought briefly about swinging by his former residence, to check on everything, but decided against it. He wanted to get home and see Adalind.

Getting there, he discovered that she wasn't in. Feeling his stomach clenched, he texted her.

"Is everything alright?"

"New fusion food truck. I ordered everything on the menu. On my way home now."

The bark of laughter that escaped Nick was louder than normal. The humor of what Adalind said was enhanced by the relief Nick felt that he would be seeing her soon.

While he waited for her, he filled her kettle with water and set it on the stove.

Adalind had told him that anyone who heated tea in the microwave should be forbidden from ever touching a tea leaf again. Then she had shot a glare at him when he had laughed at her comment.

Keeping himself busy making the tea and thinking about Adalind, helped Nick to keep himself from thinking too much about his changing feelings on what home was to him. He also didn't want to think too closely on why he hadn't wanted to change the shop owner's beliefs on what Nick and Adalind were to one another. Especially when it came to that word, family.

And when Adalind returned with several large bags of food and a bright smile on her face, Nick didn't try to analyze the joy he felt at the sight of her. Or the urge he had to pull her into his arms and kiss her.

Noticing the tea on the counter, she said "I didn't know you were a tea drinker."

"I got it at that spice shop you mentioned. I thought we could use something to help us relax."

Nick made sure to include himself, just to be sure not to offend and upset her.

"That's a wonderful idea! Thank you, Nick. Let's hope the tea goes well with the sweet treats I got."

They removed the food from the bags and sat on the couch together. As they ate, they talked about their day.

"Joanna thinks her client is going to try to drag out the divorce as long as possible. It seems to be getting messier and messier. I haven't had to look over as many financial statements when dealing with a business merger. At this rate, I might be looking over papers while in the delivery room."

"If they make you work during your maternity leave, I'm throwing them all in jail. Unless they're all wesen, then I'll just threaten to chop off their heads." Nick offered sincerely.

Adalind smiled affectionately at Nick. "First getting us tea, and now threatening to chop off heads. You are an absolute sweetheart."

A week later, Nick and Hank were investigating the break in of the spice shop.

Rosalee Calvert showed up to help her injured brother deal with everything.

Both fuchsbau were surprised to find out the detective helping them was a grimm.

"A grimm is having a baby with a hexenbiest?" Freddie Calvert's eyes could not get any bigger.

At the questioning look from his sister, he explained, "This guy came into my shop and got some tea to help his pregnant wife relax, said she was a hexenbiest. I guess I just assumed he was a zauberbiest."

"You also assumed that he was married. But he's not wearing a ring." Rosalee pointed out to her brother.

"Well, he didn't correct me." Freddie defended.

"Dudes got a complicated situation going on." Monroe chuckled as he made his way downstairs, where the others were gathered.

Ignoring his friend's comment, Nick introduced everyone and explained. "I called Monroe hoping that he could get a scent of the men who attacked you, that would help us track them down. And I bribed him with a nice bottle of wine to help out and guard the place for a while. In case the attackers come back."

"You're with a hexenbiest and relying on a blutbad for help. You're certainly not what I was expecting when I thought I would encounter a grimm."

"You're not the first person to say something like that." Nick grinned.

When the case was wrapped up, and the spice shop cleaned up, Nick eagerly told Adalind what had happened.

"It was obvious that Monroe was smitten with Rosalee in the first five minutes of meeting her. But now that she hit a guy over the head with a brick, saving Monroe's life; she might need a restraining order to keep him from following her around everywhere."

Adalind laughed. "Rosalee sounds amazing. I hope she stays in Portland. Monroe is such a nice guy, he deserved happiness."

"Maybe we should all do something fun together? So she doesn't always associate Monroe with dangerous situations."

"That's a great idea! You should invite Hank, and I'll invite Joanna. A big get together will make things less suspicious."

"A divorce lawyer and a guy who's been divorced three times. Sounds like a perfect match."
