Chapter 15: A Spell For Disaster

Danny and the rest of Team Phantom soon landed in North Elmerton. They saw a lot of abandoned businesses and homes here, so it was clear that this was the less than ideal part of town.

"Man, I can't help but wonder about property values here..."Tucker commented.

"I can imagine they're still above what people should pay. Greedy government stooges!..."Sam commented.

"Guys, we're on a rescue mission here!..."Danny reminded harshly.

"We know, little brother. We'll find her..."Jazz said.

"Where's Star?..."Danny asked, anxious as he turned to his tech-savvy friend.

"According to this, she's about 100 feet up ahead..."Tucker commented.

"Then, let's go!..."Danny said.

"But that jiangshi is probably expecting us. We need to be ready. He's probably prepared to give us trouble..."Jazz pointed out.

"Believe me, the only one in trouble is him once I get my hands on him!..."Danny said, ready to tear him apart.

"Now's not the time to be macho, Danny. We need a plan!..."Jazz said.

"Then, what do you suggest we do?..."Danny asked.

Jazz smiled.

"I think I got something..."She said as she pointed to an abandoned costume shop, who's door just happened to be opened.

5 minutes later

"This is so stupid!..."Sam complained as they stepped out.

"Stop whining, we need this..."Danny said, gesturing to their outfits.

Their idea was to go under cover using disguises that they found from the abandoned shop, and the shop surprisingly still had some costumes in their sizes that were discarded. Danny even morphed back to his human form just to wear it, in case the jiangshi expect someone familiar enough.

"I'm more worried about how these things smell!..."Jazz said in disgust, since the disguises had been dusty and had been laying there for who knows how long.

Not to mention, who knows what else had been crawling in that gross old place, and what's crawling on them now.

"Hey, this was your idea, so quit complaining!..."Danny said, already on edge and impatient.

However, someone heard him but it wasn't the jiangshi. It was someone else.

"Wait...that voice...Danny?!..."Was heard.

"Who is that?..." Danny asked.

"Hopefully someone who won't tell anyone that I'm wearing bright colors..." Sam groaned, hating that the only thing that was in her size was colorful.

"Danny!..." Misty went, running towards them.

Barely recalling her, Danny just stared and tried to place her. He knew that she was the girl he met at the swap meet and tried to flirt with him, but he was having trouble recalling her name right now.

"Oh... hi, uh... Marcy?..."Danny guessed.

"Misty..."She corrected, too tired and panting heavily to even notice.

"Right, Misty..."He said, shrugging.

"W-What are you doing here? And why are you dressed like that?..."Misty asked, noticing his comically large trench coat with hat.

Danny had no time to waste and turned to the others and they nodded on asking her. He took the disguise off since, if Misty could recognize him, then Shi probably would too, and it's probably pointless.

"I... I'm... looking for Star, again. Any chance you've s-..."He paused, but she spoke up.

"Yes! I mean... yeah... uh... she was... with..."Misty stammered, not sure how to end this without being hated by everyone here.

"A pasty looking guy in late teens or early 20's tops who looks like a Chinese hopping vampire, but less hot than the ones from Japanese fighting games from the 90's?..." Tucker asked.

Misty glared at him.

"I wouldn't use those words but... yeah..."She said.

Danny gasped and grabbed her by the shoulders, looking really desperate and shook her.

"You did?! Where?! Where, Misty?!..."He exclaimed.

Misty tried not to enjoy how close he was and focus on what he asked.

"It's...a really long story, but I saw him carry her..."Misty said.

"You did?..."Danny asked and the dark haired girl nodded.

"I think I saw where they went..."She said, pointing ahead.

In actuality, she used a spell to effectively find her former associate, but she can't tell them just as much they can't tell her how they found her. It was hard to cast a spell without that spell book but she tried her best and somehow, managed to complete it.

"Oh, you do...we-..."Before Danny could finish, she ran past him.

"Follow me, I know that they are about 100 feet up ahead..."She said as she ran passed them, gesturing to follow.

"Uh, Misty?..."Danny tried, but she was too far.

"The sooner we go, the sooner we save her..." Sam reminded.

"But I can't go ghost with her around!..."Danny whispered to her.

"We don't have time to worry about another girl who likes you, Star needs us..."Jazz pointed out.

Knowing she's right, Danny said nothing and followed the girl crushing on him. He'll worry about her and the consequences later.

"Star..."Danny whispered as they followed Misty, to save Star.

Later

Danny, Misty and the others soon arrived to the abandoned Chinese restaurant, called the Jade Panda.

"A Chinese restaurant? Figures..."Misty thought, seeing as they're Chinese.

"They must be inside. He's probably readying her with soy sauce..."Danny said, terrified for her.

He tried to go inside, but Misty grabbed him by the arm in concern.

"Wait, Shi- uh... she might be guarded with booby-traps, so we should... be careful..." She said.

Danny turned his head to the restaurant before sighing.

"Okay... you might have a point..."He said, looking upset.

"Wait... do you hear that?..." Sam asked, having heard what sounded like talking.

The group opens the door and spots Shi chanting in Chinese.

"Jiāng wǒ àirén de línghún fàng rù zhège kě'ài de róngqì zhōng!..."Shi went, speaking in Chinese.

"What's he saying?..."Danny asked in a low voice.

Misty looked horrified. She might be pretty rusty in Chinese, but she could understand that much...and she went pale now.

"He just said...place the soul of my beloved into this lovely vessel..."She whispered and Danny gasped.

"He's not gonna hurt her?..."He asked.

"It sounds like something worse. Much worse..." Misty said, feeling a gnaw of guilt while her crush just panicked.

"We gotta stop him!..." Danny said before running in to try and save his girlfriend.

"Danny!..." All of them went.

They weren't careful enough and the jiangshi noticed. Shi grinned as he turned to face the intruder.

"Ah... come to object? Too late..." He said before snapping his fingers.

"I beg to differ!..."Danny yelled.

"You'll be begging alright!..."Shi said as he directed his attention to them.

The teenagers soon found themselves in the presence of a ritual where an unconscious Star is in a circle of candles.

"What the heck? This is like a scene in one of my horror films? What's going on?..." Sam asked, both freaked out and kinda of fascinated too.

"Ah...dinner has just arrived. Just in time..."Shi said, grinning.

"Uh... I'm not sure you want me. I'm all junk food..." Tucker went, worried about their safety right now.

"And I'm a vegetarian..."Sam said. "I know that sounds healthier but you might have a soy allergy. Plus, I'm low on vitamins like calcium, iron and zinc..."She said, but the jiangshi scoffed and didn't look bothered by these facts.

"Oh... don't worry... I don't have any allergies. And I won't drain you dry... just a lot..." Shi said before snapping his fingers.

With that, all of them were pulled into the wall, sticking to it...again.

"Not again. This is gonna stain for sure..."Tucker complained.

"Who cares about that?..."Misty snapped before turning to Shi. "Put us down!..."She demanded.

"Heh... I am no longer bound to anyone! Now... to get back to my ritual..."Shi said, smiling at Star.

"What are you gonna do, eat her?..." Danny asked as he tried to break free.

"Why would I eat her? She's so beautiful... but... my heart still belongs to my Meilin. So, I'm going to summon her soul and place her into this body... and then I will turn Star into a jiangshi, of course..." Shi said.

The teenagers all gasped in horror, but none more than Danny.

"WHAT?!..." Danny asked, looking furious while the villain kept taunting them.

"Oh, don't worry. Star will still be in there, she just won't be in control. Although, she may learn to love me as much as my Meilin did..."Shi said, thinking fondly.

That angered Danny, but shocked someone else.

"You want to turn her into your girlfriend? That is just sick and gross!..." Misty asked, surprised, repulsed and confused.

"Well, I had considered you at first... but you lack her spirit... and another reason..."Shi said.

"What other reason?..." Misty asked, wondering what he was talking about.

"Wait... what is he talking about?..." Danny asked, confused at how familiar they seem to be with each other.

The sorceress flinched and got nervous.

"Oh... uh..."Misty stammered, wondering what she would tell Danny but her former minion cut her off.

"Don't worry about it... you won't have much time to worry about it anyway..."Shi said, grinning at them.

With a blast from his finger, he hit Jazz, who fell unconscious. This alerted the rest.

"Uh, Jazz? Now is so not the time for a nap!..." Sam went.

"It is now that I put her to sleep. Now then..." Shi said as he aimed at Sam.

Sam too fell unconscious. Now it was Tucker's turn. He fired and he too was out like a light.

"Good riddance, those last two were rather far too mouthy for my liking..."He went.

"What did you do to them?!..."Danny demanded.

"Since I hold no personal grudges against them, I decided to be merciful and let them sleep through the...dinner that I have planned..."He said, before a more menacing look dawned on his face. "You two, however, will not be granted that mercy..."He said, grinning sinisterly.

He did look scary, but it was cut short due to Tucker snoring, which was ruining the fearful atmosphere that Shi was attempting to make.

"Zzzzz..."Tucker let out, along with some drool.

"He ruined my terrifying presence..."Shi went, annoyed. "It quite a shame that at the moment, I don't have time to look for any silencing curses in the spell book..."He muttered, scowling and disgusted as the tech geek kept snoring loudly.

Even his former master was getting annoyed too.

"Another reason that I'm glad that I said no to him..." Misty grumbled, still struggling to get out.

"Whatever, none of this matters now. It is time..."Shi said as he continued his spell.

He channeled all the qi into the candles as each candle erupted in flames and swirled around the air, forming into one large fireball. With Danny and Misty left, the two watched as a blue fire appeared above Star's unconscious body.

"What's happening?!..."Danny whispered, worried.

"The spell..."Misty said in horror as her former minion was grinning a mile wide now, looking excited.

"Ahh... she's here. In moments, you two will be our wedding dinner..."Shi declared, rubbing his hands together.

"LET HER GO!..."Danny yelled and tried to break free.

He quickly considered a way out of this before noticing Misty had her eyes closed as she struggled. That gave him an idea. He turned intangible and fell off the wall.

Misty opened her eyes and saw him long after he used his powers.

"What? How did-..."She wondered but soon fell to the ground too, along with the others who were still asleep.

When she wasn't looking, Danny pressed a hand on the wall and used his intangibility to free them too. While Misty was still confused, the ghost boy rushed to save his girlfriend.

"Get away from her!..." Danny shouted as he ran and tried to stop this.

However, since he was in human form, the hopping vampire moved too fast for him. The villain decided to use this opportunity to strike the young hero behind his back while tripping him.

"AHH!..."Danny yelled as he hit the floor.

He found himself back up, but not by choice. Shi held Danny up by the wrist and sneered at him.

"Don't worry... I'll take good care of her as if she were my precious Meilin...which she WILL become soon..." Shi said before tossing the boy to the ground, painfully.

"DANNY!..." Misty cried out in worry.

"If only Misty wasn't here..."He thought as he tried to think of something.

Shi was scoffing, finding it amusing Danny won't reveal his secret around Misty, even to save Star. He was about to ready himself to run up to the young half ghost and finish him. However, he stopped as the blue fire hovered closer to Star. Shi grinned as he knew what this meant.

"She's here!..."He said in excitement as his spell is starting to take effect.

"No!..." Danny called out as he didn't care anymore.

He ran as fast as he could and jumped, using his ghostly strength to give him more distance as he leapt forward and landed in the circle, looking as though it took little effort to do so.

"Wow, that was awesome. He's so brave!..."Misty commented, impressed as she watched Danny pull Star off the platform

"You fool, you're ruining my reunion! The spirit of my Meilin will have nowhere to go without a proper vessel to contain her!..."Shi shouted.

"I'll with deal that after I send you back 6 feet under in brand new coffin!..."Danny yelled, ready to fight.

"You're ruining everything!..."Shi yelled, snarling.

"And you're endangering my girlfriend!..."Danny yelled as he carried Star away.

Shi was angry and was about to chase him, but something caught his attention. Despite the vessel not being in place, something did appear...the spirit of Meilin.

Oddly, she wasn't like most ghosts...it was more like an aura of a Chinese woman from ancient times appeared, dressed in the traditional clothes of her era and still had a human complexion, as well as a glowing Chinese symbol on her forehead.

Shi was overjoyed as he saw her once again. He even forgot about his enemies for a moment and got to his knees in front of his beloved, genuinely happy for the first time.

"My love!..."He said, expecting her to come to his arms and embrace him.

Instead of doing what he hoped, Meilin's spirit never approached him or the unconscious girl. However, it remained in place, Meilin stood in place as she scowled at him.

"You monster!..." She went, looking truly enraged.

"What?!..." Shi went, wondering what went wrong.

With Danny

The ghost boy took Star to a safe distance and tried to wake her up.

"Star, come on. Please!..."He begged, but she was still out-cold.

Misty ran to him and hovered over him.

"Is she okay?..."She asked, while he was checking over Star.

"I don't know. She's not waking up!..."Danny said, looking worried and distressed.

Misty hated seeing him like this and felt guilty for her role in this entire mess. She wanted to fix her mistake and there is only one way that she could think that might work.

"I...think I know how to wake her up..."She said, looking nervous as the boy turned to her.

"What? How?..."Danny asked, looking desperate.

Misty sighed, as she knew what she had to do now.

"No turning back now. So much for Misty Fenton..."She thought, knowing that this might change his opinion on her for good.

"Just...don't freak out..."Misty said as she prepared herself. "And please trust me when I say that I never meant for any of this to happen..."She added quietly as she tried to focus.

"Juéxǐng!..."Misty said, saying "Awaken" in Chinese as she tried to cast a spell.

She pressed a glowing hand on Star's forehead. Danny was shocked by what he was seeing.

"Wait...you..."He paused as the girl sent him a sheepish look.

"I'm...kinda...a sorceress...well, almost. Anyway, no time to explain. Just give me a few seconds to focus.."Misty said as her hands and eyes glowed as she cast the spell on the blonde girl.

In one moment, Star awoke and groaned.

"Ugh! I'm gonna get a bucket of painkillers for all the throbbing!..."She said, gripping her head as she hissed a bit.

"Star! Oh, thank goodness!..."Danny said as he pulled her into a hug.

Star blinked and soon realized that she was in his arms and smiled.

"Danny? Oh, I knew that you'd find me!..."She said in relief.

"Always..."He said, hugging her back.

Misty looked away, trying hard not to feel unhappy as she saw this.

"I wish it was me that he was holding…"She thought, trying hard for her eyes not to flash green again.

Star saw Misty and lost her joy, replaced with anger as she remembered what had happened.

"What is SHE doing here?!..."She demanded, still recalling what she did earlier.

Misty cringed, but Danny answered for her.

"She just helped me wake you up from Shi's spell..."He said.

Star blinked, totally surprised to hear this.

"Really?..."She asked, surprised.

Her apparent rival nodded, with a guilty look on her face.

"Yeah...uh...I did..."Misty said, knowing that the blonde girl might still be ticked about earlier.

Danny seemed confused.

"Uh, what's going on here?..."He asked.

Before either girl could explained, things were not looking good for Shi as he tried to reason with the "love of his life".

"But...my love...I wanted to see you again! I summoned you back from the death, I brought you a perfect vessel to inhabit...so that we could finally be together!..."Shi tried, but was met with rejection when she spoke back.

"Shi... what have you done?! I had hoped that the years of being turned into stone would've made you realize your actions were wrong, but instead you tried to take this girl's body for me?!..."Meilin said, looking angry and appalled.

"I did it for you... my love..." He said. "I've done so much, just to have you back by my side again! So, why are you acting so cruel to me?..."He exclaimed, looking like HE was the victim here.

The woman whom he longed for wanted nothing to do with this.

"Stop. Stop that! Can't you see?! You and I were never a couple, you were a friend to me...or rather, you were!..."Meilin said, sounding upset with him.

"What?!..."He yelled, his world crumbling as he spoke.

Meilin sighed in disappointment. She pinched her nose in irritation as she decided to tell her deranged former friend something that was long overdue.

"I'm sorry... but I never felt that way. I admit that maybe I was fond of you when we were children, but it was only as a friend. However, as we got older, you made me so uncomfortable when you and I were alone together..."Meilin said, shuddering.

"Not only that, but you were possessive, rude and jealous of everyone I was around. I couldn't love that..."She said and Shi looked heartbroken.

"No! They wanted to keep us apart. I could've shown you that I was worthy of your love! Much more than my brother!..."Shi said, sounding desperate.

"It wasn't a contest, you fool! Your brother didn't treat me like a prize to be won, that's why I chose to return his feelings! Not only that, he was very kind and he tried to be a good brother to you...even getting you a job as a chef despite your age and attitude, but you repaid him with feelings of resentment and envy! I would've had father fire you if you weren't such a good cook and your relationship with your brother...even then, you were hardly a good servant to my father!..."She said.

"That's something I could've learned to do!..."Shi insisted.

"Not possible. You were either like that or not, but it was clear that you were not!..."Meilin said, crossing her arms.

"Oh..." Shi went.

"Even worse, you betrayed not only your brother and I, but your entire family and our entire village when you stole the spell book and sold your humanity to become this...this monster, and you only did so to try and kill your own brother on our wedding night! Of course, I couldn't love you!..."Meilin said, revealing what had happened.

"You even drained qi from your own father when he tried to stop you to save us. It's only luck that he didn't die!..."Meilin yelled, shocking Danny, Star and Misty to hear that.

"Aiguo had no choice but to stop you, since you clearly were not the boy who I used to catch fish by the river anymore! He had no choice but to turn you to stone, since you were no longer human...inside or out!..."Meilin said, sounding both angry and sad as she spoke.

Shi, looking heartbroken, realized something.

"But...Meilin...I love you so much. I always have. All I ever wanted was for us to be together and to prove my love to you!..."He pleaded, but the female spirit rejected him.

"Shi, even if you loved me, you clearly didn't respect my feelings and wouldn't listen to me each time I tried to tell you that I only saw you as a friend. You were ALWAYS like that and you still don't see how much trouble you caused me when you acted like that! Father and Aiguo were not like the other men in our time! They accepted me as I was and let me be myself when I was home, they both were considerate of my feelings and cared about my opinions, while you just saw me as a prize to take away from your brother!..."Meilin accused.

"No, I didn't. I loved you for years, long before my brother even noticed you!..."Shi insisted.

"That's what you think, but Aiguo loved me for years too, long before he confessed to me. Unlike you, he never tried to out-do anyone or see others as rivals that need to be eliminated. He just did his best to do his duty for your family and serve my father and our home. He even asked me if I wanted to be with him before he asked my father for his blessing. He cared about my feelings that much that he didn't want to marry me unless he was sure that I felt the same way as him. That's why I loved him so much. He was ahead of his time and didn't see me as an object to own!..."Meilin said, stating the truth.

"But you...you haven't changed at all! Even after all this time...if you had changed even a little bit...then maybe we could have repaired our friendship, but not like this!..."She said bitterly, glowing with disappointment and visible regret.

"But you haven't changed at all!..."She said, frowning more.

Shi looked utterly shocked and broken, ready to fall to pieces at a moment's notice. For all his evil deeds, it was disheartening seeing how everything he achieved never mattered. It was all for nothing!

"S-so... you don't want the girl's body?..."He stammered, seeing his actions were pointless.

"Of course not! I never even wanted to come back to life, especially at the cost of another person's freedom! I'm happy where I am, with my love. I had hoped you learned your lesson... I even asked your brother to keep you instead of destroying you as a last act of familial mercy... but that did nothing to temper you at all. How disappointing!..." She said, looking at him like he was the lowest life-form ever.

"Meilin! Please!..."Shi pleaded but she sent him a cold glare, refusing to let him finish.

"No, I do not want to her your excuses! I will no longer be the shadow you love, you stopped being my friend the moment you gave up your humanity for your selfish desires! Now release these children and repent for your crimes, only then will anything good come! And don't even think of summoning me again! You're brother placed a charm on me during my life to PROTECT me from dark magic and from you if you ever came back! I only came here to talk some sense into you and I can only stay here for a few minutes anyway! So, I'm done now..."Meilin said before she turned away. "Goodbye, old friend. We will NOT meet again!..."Meilin's spirit said before vanishing.

She disappeared, gone from him forever.

"NO! NO!..." He cried out as he fell to his knees in despair.

He finally got his love back, only to be rejected and abandoned by her.

Again.

"Wow...and I thought Vlad was a fruitloop..."Danny commented.

"That's what I said..."Star whispered, not sympathetic at all.

Misty, meanwhile, blinked and was having trouble processing what her ancestor told her former friend/stalker.

"He never told her how he felt before it was too late... he just assumed that things would go his way regardless and he let envy corrupt him..."She whispered, seeing a bit of herself in him.

A deranged looking Shi turned around and his attention turned to Star. He pointed at her.

"You!..."He shouted.

"Me?!..."Star asked, backing away.

"I don't know how you awoke since my spell was suppose to last an hour but I do not care! If I cannot have her as my bride... then you will have to do! I will NOT leave here EMPTY-HANDED!..." Shi shouted at Star.

"Dream on, ugly!..."She yelled, taking a fighting stance.

Shi was still heartbroken and furious over Meilin's rejection, and he was determined to have some sort of consolation prize, and what better consolation than a fellow jiangshi?

Even if it's not whom he truly wants but he wasn't exactly thinking rationally anymore.

"Oh... I think I'll get over Meilin... after I convert you into a jiangshi!..."Shi yelled, too far gone now.

"You're nuts!..."Star yelled as she stood behind Danny, who protected her.

"The lady said no!..." Danny said before he was grabbed in the face.

"You! I will claim Star after I drain you dry and use your corpse as a trophy! You may even make a nice decoration on our wall!..."Shi yelled, snarling at him.

"Get in line, you got a metal-head to compete with!..."He said as he sent him a cold glare as Misty ran to help him.

"Let him alone..."She yelled as she tried to cast a spell and save Danny.

She launched a fireball at the deranged jiangshi. She tried to cast a spell by memory but without the spell book, it was tough and Shi easily dodged the attack.

"Such an annoying girl!..."Shi said as he sent the blast at her.

Misty barely managed to dodge it, but the attack almost hit Sam, Tucker and Jazz's unconscious bodies.

"Guys!..."Danny exclaimed in worry, but he was glad that this monster missed them.

Star realized that they needed help and Danny couldn't go ghost with Misty here...and they also had to get the others to safe place too.

"Help me get them out of here..." Star said to Misty, gesturing to the unconscious ones now on the floor as Shi's spell sticking them to the wall was gone.

"But what about Danny?..."Misty asked, worried for him.

"I know he needs us, but we need all the help we can get and they can't help us if they're all still asleep!..."Star pointed out, using that as an excuse.

Misty saw her logic and nodded.

"Okay... but I'm not touchi-..."She tried but the blonde girl cut her off.

"I got Jazz and Sam. You get Tucker..." Star ordered.

"Ugh!..." Misty groaned, but did as she was told.

As they tried to get the others to safety and wake them up, Danny was cornered by Shi.

"Here's a spell my former master knew not!..."Shi said darkly as his eyes and hands glowed a darker shade of green. "Gěi wǒ gèng dà de shí bèi lìliàng!..." He went.

Danny saw that Misty was too busy to look back and thought fast.

"Finally..."He said as he morphed and readied for battle.

"Now, let's rock!..."He said, pounding a fist into his hand.

He charged at the now battle crazed jiangshi, ready to put an end to his plans and introduce him to a whole new world of pain!

With Misty

She and Star had brought the unconscious teens outside, away from the danger within the abandoned Chinese restaurant. Misty was also too busy trying to cast a spell to wake them up to even notice what was going on inside now.

"This would so much easier if we were just a further away from the supernatural nutcase trying to kill us!..."Misty said, panting and trying to calm her panicked heartbeat.

"Just wake them up, hurry!..."Star ordered, since they didn't have much time to lose.

"Juéxǐng!..."Misty chanted as her hands and eyes glowed, touching each forehead, trying her best to concentrate despite the circumstances they were in.

Soon, Sam, Jazz and a drooling, snoring Tucker awoke. They began groaning and feeling discomfort.

"Man, my neck is stiff. I feel like I just woke up from a nap after listening my parents lecture about my clothes again..."Sam said as she got up and her neck cricked a bit.

"I feel like I was just hit with another one of my dad failed invention...and I'm thankfully not covered in goop. Ow! I think I landed on my head, I can feel it..."Jazz said, groaning.

"Man, I had the worst nightmare. There was this really ugly Chinese vampire and-..."Tucker began, but was cut off.

"That wasn't a nightmare. It was real..."Star said, getting their attention.

"And Danny's still inside, all alone with it!..."Misty said, worried for her crush and buried her face in her hands. "This is all my fault! None of this would even be happening if I never listened to him. I should have just talked with Lao Lao!..."Misty sobbed.

"Uh, what is she talking about?..."Sam asked, clueless as the girl sobbed.

Star sighed and felt a bit conflicted here. She was still upset for the girl's role in this entire disaster, but she could see that she feels guilty and wanted to fix this.

"Misty, I am still mad and we definitely have a lot to talk about after this...but the fact remains, that there is a crazed Chinese Hopping vampire on the loose and we need to stop him before anyone else gets hurt...so, truce?..."Star asked as she extended her hand to her.

Misty looked at it and sighed. She knew that she can't possibly stop Shi on her own and despite her personal feud with the blonde girl, she knew that she had skills in fighting and she's not a coward. This was all for the true greater good, not just a lie she fueled with envy. She pushed her pride and previous assumptions about the blonde girl aside and do what was right and fix this entire mess.

"Truce..."She said as she shook her hand.

"Now come on, we gotta save Danny before Shi turns him into a really cute lifeless husk..."Misty said as she ran inside.

"Danger or not, he's still MY BOYFRIEND!..."Star said as she ran after her, wanting to save him and set the record straight.

"Uh, am I missing something here?..."Tucker asked, scratching the back of his head.

"Probably…" They went in unison, still in the dark on WHAT was going on between the two girls.

The others ran inside as well, knowing that Danny may need their help and fast. They needed to figure out a more permanent way of getting rid of deranged jiangshi for good.

Inside

With Danny

The ghost boy was still fighting the jiangshi, who was more angry and dangerous than ever.

"I'm going to enjoy this!..."Shi shouted as he sent a blast towards the ghost boy.

"You mean your butt kicking? Totally!..."Danny yelled as he flew around the blasts.

Shi kicked Danny hard enough to break through a table. The ghost boy growled and fired ecto beams from his eyes, which the vampire deflected.

"You have no way to defeat me. Even with the spell that turned me to stone, my potion will keep me safe from it for a month...and unfortunately for you, you don't have that time!..."He said, smirking darkly.

"Of all Chinese hopping vampires, I get the one with the most envy and serious issues…" Danny grumbled.

"I do NOT have issues!..."Shi yelled, looking more ticked.

"Yeah, right..."Danny said with an eye-roll, angering the vampire even more.

"You are such a NUISANCE! Once I am done, I will turn Star into another like me, and use a talisman to make her loyal to me by erasing her memories! Perhaps the two of us will rule this land!..."Shi declared, clearly not caring anymore.

"That's not love, Shi! That's controlling people! She won't be her anymore, just a puppet!..."Danny yelled.

"She will never know the difference… because you won't be there to tell her!..."Shi said as he charged at him, ready to drain him dry.

Danny dodged him and fired more ice and ecto-blasts at him. Shi was hit, but was more irritated than anything.

"You pest!..."Shi shouted in a fit of anger as he used his powers to melt the ice and hit the ghost boy, sending him back.

"AHH!..."Danny yelled.

He flew out the window again, sliding down the wall and morphing back to human form.

"Why couldn't he have been the hot blue one from the 90's fighting game?..." Danny complained.

The jiangshi then lunged forward with clawing hands, charging at the young halfa like a mad bull seeing the color red.

"Die, interloper!..."He said, looking mad as his mind went blank out of furious anger for the ghost boy that reminded him so much of his brother.

"I WILL RIP OFF YOUR SKIN AND MAKE IT INTO A PINYIN!..."He said, as he let his rage take over most of his thoughts now.

"Now I know how cats feel like whenever Cujo chases them..."Danny said, rolling to the side as the vampire hit the wall with his fangs.

"Ouch, that's gotta hurt. And I'm pretty sure that you don't have dental insurance…"He quipped in a cheeky manner.

Full of rage, the quips did not hint but stir the rage inside Shi. The vampire had red eyes now, only able to growl in his anger.

"Get away from him!..."Misty yelled as she ran inside.

"Misty?!..."Danny exclaimed, wondering why she came back.

"Take this!…"Misty yelled as she threw something that she had brought at her enemy.

It was a peach!

The fruit splatted against Shi's face, leaving a sticky stain before it fell off. The vampire glared at the girl, snarling with his fangs in full view.

"Before I render you asunder after stealing your qi, do you mind telling me why you threw a peach at me!?…"Shi yelled as he floated over the girl.

"B-b-but peaches are supposed—..."

"Work when they are from a tree blessed by the spirits, not one of your farmed fruits that are produced for your consumption!…"Shi said, wiping it off his face and robes.

"D'oh!..."Misty let out, flinching as the jiangshi approached her.

The dark haired girl gulped, running as fast as she could as she reached into her backpack. The peaches were only one of the many weaknesses she brought along after some research in the short time it took her to track them, but she didn't bring anything else.

Meanwhile, Shi took aim and sent a hateful look at the girl

"Well, other than giving me a mild migraine, you're out of luck..."The villain said.

He readied a blast, ready to hit her and then suck out her life force.

"Misty, look out!..."Danny yelled as he ran to her.

He managed to push her out of the way of Shi's blast in time. It took only a moment for Misty to realize what happened and who saved her...and who's arms were around her right now.

"Danny? You saved me!..." Misty went with a smile.

Danny cringed.

"Uh... yeah, I guess that I did..." He went.

To his displeasure, it seems Misty has become even more interested in him than before.

"Can't believe that I wish that I wasn't such a babe magnet..."He thought, while Star ran to him, hugging him.

"Danny!..."She said as she hugged him, happy that he is okay.

Danny smiles and hugged back. Misty saw this and frowned, crossing her arms.

"I didn't get a hug..."She muttered, feeling mild jealousy but was ignored.

It was cut short as Shi snarled and began screaming in rage again.

"Fools! I have the spell book and all the power of the Yang clan. I am unstoppable!..."Shi declared as his aura became greener and more intense as more power surged through him, making him bigger and wilder.

The entire area rumbled and the Chinese hopping vampire was on a rampage, his eyes glowing and burning like green fires.

"I am the most powerful being here! Nothing in this earth can defeat me! My bride and I shall feast on every last mortal in this village, starting with the ones who dared to oppose me!..."Shi declared as he let the power fuel him.

He was getting bigger, his aura was greener and he was looking even more dangerous as he power surged through his entire body. The teenagers were getting worried to say the least. They quickly tried to hide as the jiangshi was distracted by the power he was now possessing, but they knew that it was only a temporary hiding spot.

"This is bad!..."Misty said, scared now.

"And its gonna get worse!..."Star said, hating the plans he has for her.

"I know, hurry, we came prepared..."Danny said as he revealed a bag that he brought.

"What is in that?..."Star asked.

"We did some research and found some stuff that are like jiangshi weaknesses..."Danny revealed, since it was his "plan b".

"What? Really?!..."Misty and Star both said in shock and hopefulness.

"Yeah, you didn't think we came here unprepared. I was hoping to get Star out of here before he even noticed us but...gotta work with what we have.."Danny said, smiling.

"Wow, Danny. You're so cool!~..."Misty said in a dreamy voice.

Danny cringed and Misty hissed when someone ribbed her. It was Star, who had an irritated look on her face.

"One, we got a monster to deal with and two, he's still MY boyfriend!..."Star said forcefully.

"Got it..."Misty grumbled under her breath, arms crossed.

"Two hot girls are fighting over me...and I don't want it..."He thought as he could taste the irony right now.

As Shi was on his rampage as he tried to find them, Danny and the girls went to the others and regrouped to work out a new game plan.

"So, what now?..."Tucker asked.

"Now...we show Shi just what happens when you get involved in people's relationships..."Danny said, determined to end troublesome jiangshi once and for all.

REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:

RonaldM40196867:

1) Hmmm...I say that they were pretty equal.

2) I had a couple of ideas for him and some help from my friends to flesh out his character.

3) I haven't decided yet.

4) I'll try to finish it as soon as I can.

Luiz4200: Yeah.

Pokemon fan 1991: Thank you :)

Also, I'll think about your idea and let you know.

Jebest4781: Yeah.

CZS4: Yeah.

Invader Johnny: How is this?

Hmilles02: Thank you :)

Here are my responses to your questions:

1) Yeah, but the show would lose an important plot element.

2) No, I don't see Ember as a mother figure for Danny.

3) I think that he could.

4) Maybe.

5) No, they are too immature and wild to be decent parents to Danny.

Leonardo: I think the reason why Danny is a popular choice is because people like his character.

Anonymous 26: Thank you :)

The reason I chose Star is because I wanted to make a fanfic with her in it and...well, after a while, this fic series was born :)

Guest: Thank you :)

Jay The Average Fanboy: Thank you :)

Here are my responses to your questions:

1) No. She doesn't know yet.

2) She loves Pierre, even though she was initially wary of him due to who his father is. However, Star doesn't blame him for what happened with her parents and she hopes that he will grow up to be a better person than Colette and Jean-Luc.

3) No, I don't think so.

4) She still recalls that incident but I don't think she's traumatized since she barely remembers being a swan in the first place.

5) She is athletic and has taken some self-defense classes.

6) I think it's possible.

7) He is definitely getting in better shape thanks to the exercise that he is doing with Star.

8) Hmm...maybe, though she probably would still hold a grudge against her for stealing a kiss from Danny.

9) Maybe.

10) I haven't decided yet.

:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
