With her debut finally over, Weiss finally had some more time to herself. She should have felt happy, but she felt empty inside, even though it had only been two days. She needed to keep herself busy, to keep her thoughts distracted so they wouldn't weigh her down, that job belonged to her dreams, where red, black and yellow stared at her accusingly. Sometimes it was just their eyes, glaring at Weiss as she bled on the floor of Haven Academy's common room, Cinder spear buried in her abdomen, or she heard them, blaming Weiss for leaving them.

Shaking the thought out of her head, Weiss twirled in the air, using one of her glyphs to catch herself, and launched herself in the opposite direction. Slicing through the air with Myrtenaster, Weiss bounced around the training room with ease. She was rusty, that much as obvious, it's why she made all those mistakes back at Haven. Her summoning had improved, but in doing so, Weiss had neglected her swordsmanship. A deadly mistake, one that she planned on correcting.

She landed on the ground, immediately forming a line of glyphs to skate on. Her hair, which was in a loose normal ponytail, whipped around as she twisted and turned. She stabbed invisible enemies, and dodged attacks that never came. A training fight against one of her summons would be more effective, but that ability was one that Weiss was rather hesitant on showing the Protectorate, at this moment at least. Her summons would make their debut soon, once her class started. Weiss came to a stop and took a few deep breaths.

Someone started clapping enthusiastically. Turning towards the observation window, Weiss gave Missy a polite curtsy and motioned for the younger girl to join her.

"Your powers are awesome!" Missy beamed. Weiss attached Myrtenaster to her hip and smiled back.

"Thank you." The Schnee semblance was one of the few that passed from parent to child, and could be studied extensively. Winter had learned from Grandfather Nick's notes, and he learned from his own father and so forth. Whitley was the only one who decided not to unlock his aura, saying he never planned on fighting.

An idiot move considering all the assasination attempts they had went through since they were children.

"I was wondering if you were doing anything later." Missy played with her short hair as Weiss checked her gauntlet, which was still in one piece thankfully.

"Hmmm, let me think." Weiss had a meeting with Glenn once she was done here, apparently she made a mistake when she mentioned that she could sing, and then she had to visit her Dust chambers to view any progress. She didn't have anything else after that. "After five I should be free. Why? Did you have something in mind?"

Missy looked away, her face reddening like a tomato. "I just want to do friendship stuff, like painting our nails."

"Trying on clothes and talking about cute boys." Weiss added with a wink. She didn't want to presume what Missy's preferences were. "Sure, we could even make it a sleepover if you want."

Weiss really needed these distractions.

"So, you can sing? And I don't mean to sing like those girls who think just because they're pretty they can have a career full of autotune after a night of karaoke." Mr. Glenn grumbled as Weiss sat in the seat in front of him. She was pretty sure it had her butt imprint by now, from all that time she spent in meetings with the PR director. That doll didn't look anything like her, despite what the ugly man said.

"Of course." Weiss scoffed. "I'm a classically trained musician." All thanks to her tutors of course, who punished her for every mistake.

"Then sing something for me." Mr. Glenn pressed his meaty fingers together. He was trying to challenge her pride of course, probably thinking that Weiss would be easy to manipulate. She proved him wrong several times already, but that didn't mean he was going to stop trying it seems.

Straightening her short whie skirt, and forming a smirk, Weiss started to imagine the instruments in her head, starting with the slow melody of a piano.

"They see you as small and helpless, they see you as just a child, surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild." Weiss sang softly. She wrote this song after her fight with the Arma Giga, after her 'Schnee looks became blemished' as Father often reminded her. He wasn't even a Schnee by blood, despite all the hair dye that he used. "Prepare for your greatest moments, prepare for your finest ho-"

"Stop." Glenn raised a hand as he interrupted her, earning a glare. He took off his glasses and rubbed his forehead, wiping off some sweat. Weiss raised an eyebrow in response. "Well, your voice isn't as annoying as Canary's, which is good. Time to get another contract written. I can see it now, the Ward Rock-Star Battle Princess!"

Was that a compliment or an insult?

The meeting with Glenn was longer than it was supposed to be, but in the end Weiss walked away with favorable conditions which was worth it. No Schnee would ever be a sucker when it comes to business. After her quick visit to her Dust growing chamber, which was a repurposed Tinker lab according to Chris, Weiss entered the Ward Headquarters, the alarm blaring. Chris and Dean were already there in costume, their helmets in their hands.

"Going out on patrol?" Weiss asked politely. Her first official patrol would be tomorrow with Carlos, something about getting to know her new team leader.

"Once Clockblocker and Shadow Stalker are back." Chris said nervously. Dean agreed with his usual smile. "I have a feeling that I'm just going to be a third wheel."

"Ah ok." Weiss nodded, walking past them. Victoria would be joining them then, despite Director Piggot being rather displeased the last time the Ward worked with Glory Girl out in the field. Well that's what Missy said, and speaking of the blonde cutie, she appeared from the hallway that led to their rooms, wearing shorts and a long green shirt. She gave Weiss a large smile, one that she returned, albeit much smaller.

Smiles reminded her of Ruby.

Writing Schnee's Bay is a bit harder than Hero or Huntress, so I take my time with the chapters even if they are shorter. I hope my prose remains consistent.

And before I forget, the events of Ice Queendom are canon in Schnee's Bay, it was mentioned in a previous chapter.
