Easton walked into the station and immediately avoided everyone. Voight had a unit on her at all times, and Casey assigned people to escort her to work. The lieutenant was terrified that she would be attacked again, so he would make sure someone checked on her every morning. Most recently, she was trailed from home to the station by Severide and Herrmann. She sat on her bed with crossed arms. Casey walked over to her and leaned on the partition. "What is it?"
"You sent a man with a wife and five freaking kids to watch over me in case the damn Polish mob decides to kill me. I'm not worth this. Jesteś idiotą!" Casey couldn't help but let out a little laugh. When she got angry, she suddenly had an accent. "This isn't a joke, Casey."
"I know; I'm sorry. But everyone is worried about you."
"Don't be. I grew up in that life; I can deal with it myself." He could see the slight look of fear on her face. "I do not want anyone hurt because of me."
Casey nodded and left her alone. Her hands were shaking as she stood up and went into the bathroom. She ran cold water over her hands and took a few deep breaths. She dried her hands off right as someone from behind her put a hand over her mouth and started to pull her backward. She managed to get free and saw Severide holding a finger up his lips. Otis rounded the corner, and he waved them both to him. They followed him silently. He opened the door to a closet near Chief Boden's office. Otis pushed them both inside and slammed the door, locking it from the outside. Severide grabbed a Halligan that was leaning against the wall, forgotten. He put it through the handles, truly closing them in.
Easton pulled on Severide's arm. "What is happening?"
"Some guys are in the day room with guns holding everyone hostage until they get you. They told us they were going to execute you."
"I need to stop them!" Severide put his hand over her mouth again and held her against him. They could hear the voices from the other side of the door.
One of the gunmen found Otis trying to hide under Connie's desk. "You come with me now."
Otis put his hands up and walked back to the day room with the automatic gun held against his back. "What do you hope to get from us? We don't have any money; I mean, we are only firefighters."
He was pushed down to the floor with Casey and Capp. "Where is Little Wolf?" No one said anything. "You know where Little Wolf is. So tell us."
"Why would we know where your dog is? Keep track of it yourself." Otis was trying to keep them distracted.
The men looked at Otis in disgust. "I would watch your mouth, you dirty Russian."
"Well, that was offensive." One of the men picked Sylvie up by the back of her jacket and pulled her to her feet. "No, come on, don't. Let me take her place. I am the dirty Russian, after all."
He was pulled to his feet, and they were both forced to stand in front of their fellow firefighters with guns pointed at them. "Little Wolf. Now."
"CPD, freeze!" The SWAT team entered with their guns drawn. The Polish men held their hands up.
After they were in custody, Antonio and Voight arrived. "Where's the girl?" Voight looked impatient.
Otis rubbed the back of his head. "Boden is getting her now." Almost like they were cued, Easton and Kelly entered with Boden behind them.
She saw the detectives and walked right up to them. "Let me see who I am working with."
"Whoa, stand down, Easton," Casey warned.
She turned to look at him, making intense eye contact with him. "They nearly killed you, and you still want to argue with me?"
Voight answered her question before Casey could argue back. "Halstead and a guy named Ruzek. Report to the precinct tomorrow at 3. We'll be placing the three of you under arrest." Voight left with Antonio, pleased he got what he needed.
"Casey, Severide. My office." The officers walked away and left the rest of the station to handle the ordeal they had just endured.
"Sylvie, are you okay?"
The blonde paramedic nodded at Easton. "Yeah, sadly, that wasn't my first time being held at gunpoint."
Easton apologized before going over to Otis and hugging him. "I am so sorry, Batman." He hugged her back and smoothed a hand over her hair. She hesitantly pulled away and looked at him. "That was so stupid of you." She gently hit his chest. "The Polish hate the Russian mob almost as much as they hate the Italians. You should have been the one to hide with me."
"How was I supposed to know that? Plus, I figured Severide was the best one to protect you. He was way more capable than I was."
She turned around to face the rest of the crew. "I am so sorry, all of you. You won't ever have to worry about that happening ever again. I'll make sure this station is a no-go zone."
"You shouldn't have taken this job if you knew gangsters could come knocking on our door!" Capp shouted at her.
Herrmann frowned. "You do realize that if she is going undercover and you piss her off, she could hire a hitman or something, right?"
"Herrmann, come on." Mills shook his head at the comment.
"Just pointing out the facts. If a cop tried to give me a ticket, could I tell him I know someone in the mob and get out of it?"
Cruz shook his head. "That's not funny."
"Sorry. I'm just a little nervous. I mean, our candidate is a mob boss?"
Easton crossed her arms. "Daughter of a mob boss."
Mills stood next to her. "Will you be okay?"
"Yeah. I just can't have my real family in danger again. You guys were unwillingly put in this situation. I thought I could keep you out of it, but I amazingly failed."
