Dark Desires Ch. 21
TIME JUMP (1.5 YEARS)
Looking down at gravestone, Ruby couldn't help but smile, when they laid Whistler to rest, after they cremated him, Ruby wanted to put something on the headstone that would always reflect who Abraham Whistler was. Chuckling as she re-read the etching, "Better get you some sunscreen, Buttercup."
Hearing someone come up behind her, Ruby turned slightly, smiling when Blade stood next to her. "Just here for my weekly visit. You?"
Pulling out a small bottle of whiskey he poured it over the headstone, "I didn't hear you in the house, figured I'd find you here." Looking down at the headstone, "I miss you, old man." Placing his hand on her shoulder, "Are you feeling alright?" He asked, knowing that she was a little off the last few weeks.
Looking up into his eyes, "I'm OK, just a bit tired." Linking her arm through his, "At least Whistler got to see you get married." Knowing that it was Mitsuki that pushed for that, saying that as his father, he should see his only son get married.
Leading him towards the House, "Ready for your trip to Japan?" Knowing that Mitsuki wanted to see her eldest brother finally get married.
Shrugging his shoulders, "Yeah, never been, and it will be nice to head to their compound, train with Samurai's." While he spent time on and off with Sato, he was excited to test his skills against the brothers.
Ruby could see his excitement, "You know, you kick their asses, two things can happen, one, her father will try to convince you to stay, two, you might actually crack a smile." She teased.
As they entered the house, Ruby could hear Georgia running down the stairs, looking up as she hit the last step, she couldn't help but smile at how much she has grown as a person. "What's the rush?" she asked, smirking as she slid to a stop in front of her.
Georgia was vibrating with excitement, "Quinn proposed last night." She breathed out, holding her finger up to let Ruby see.
Taking her hand, Ruby looked at the ring, smiling at the design, a simple princess cut, but what made the ring special was the fact that the diamond was a light blue, those were exceptionally rare. "It's beautiful."
Blade looked down at the ring, smirking at her, "Well, here I thought his only good taste was finding you." His eyes found Ruby's watching him, "What?" he asked, feeling a bit exposed.
Smiling big, "Nothing, just happy to see that you actually know how to be nice to someone other than me." The only other person that she seen him show any kind of emotion with is of course his wife, but that was to be expected.
Rolling his eyes, "I hate you sometimes." Making his way up the stairs, he touched Georgia's shoulder, "Bullshit aside, I am happy for you." With that he made his way towards the room that his wife was sleeping in.
Georgia couldn't help but blush, "You know, in the time I've knowing him, that's probably the most he's spoken to anyone other than you or Mitsuki." Out of everyone in the House, Blade was always the most reserved, it felt nice that he took the time to say anything kind to her.
Ruby couldn't help but smile, "A man of very little words." Which was true, Blade generally didn't speak to anyone unless he had something important to say or wanted to crack a one liner.
Heading to the kitchen, Ruby was feeling exceptionally hungry, not that she knew why, but instead of trying to put on a strong front, she prepared 2 bags of blood, figuring whatever the reason was, she'd rather not have an episode of bloodlust because she thought she was above bigger feedings. As she warmed her blood up, she watched as Georgia started the process of getting her dinner together, she enjoyed watching the process of making food, there was a beautiful simplicity to it.
"Does this mean you have decided to let him start your transition?" She wondered out loud. Angela asked Alexander to hold off until she got her B.A in business which she would have secured in the next 2 months, and Georgia held off until she felt that she was mentally ready.
Looking up from stirring her pasta water, "I have." Smiling at her face, "I figured after the holidays, there are just a few things that I want to do before I transition, and I was hoping you would be able to help me with some of them." Her eyes hopeful.
Tossing away her first bag, she started on her second, "You know I will." Feeling a better, Ruby slowed down and sipped her bag. "What do you have in mind?" Figuring whatever it was it was in the daylight.
"I want to go to Coney Island, the Bronx Zoo, and take a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty." Hoping that it wouldn't be too much to ask her.
Finishing her second bag, Ruby tossed it away as well, and proceeded to wash her hands, "I would be delighted," reaching into her phone, she called Angela, chuckling when she answered almost immediately, "Want to go on ferry ride?" she asked her friend, hoping that she would say yes.
Rubbing her eyes, she could see Alexander's eyes watching her, "Do you mind?" she asked him.
Sleeping giving her arm a kiss, "Be safe, or I will tan your ass, my angel." Yawning, he rolled over drifting back to sleep.
Angela couldn't help but smirk at him, "I'll meet you at the port, an hour?" she asked.
Ruby smiled, "See you in an hour." Hanging up her phone, "Go get dressed, it's cool out, and please let your fiancé know where you're going." Knowing how the men could be when their very human mates were out an about.
Georgia couldn't contain her squeal, turning off the stove, she would finish her pasta later, she quickly ran up the stairs to put something warmer on.
Ruby followed behind her and walked into her closet, while she didn't need warm clothes on, it helped to look the part, while some humans knew about the vampires, most didn't, and she really wasn't into causing a scene. Slipping on a pair of her boots, and a deep maroon turtleneck sweater, Ruby grabbed her jacket and made her way over to Deacon.
Leaning down, she gently kissed his head, grabbing a pen, she wrote her note and with that headed out to the living room, only to find Kevin standing there. "Would you be so kind to drive us to the Ferry port?" she asked him.
Nodding, "Yes ma'am."
Georgia looked around as they drove through the city, even after all this time living with Ruby, and being mated to Quinn seeing everything that most humans don't get to see, she was still in awe with everything around her. While Ruby could have a limo drive her around, she chose something safe but not so blatantly obvious, with some of the other Houses that she's met in this last year, they all seemed to enjoy flaunting themselves not only to their community but to the humans as well.
Letting that thought pass, Georgia found Ruby watching her, "What?" she asked, wondering if she had toothpaste on her face or something.
"Nothing, just happy that you're finally at peace." It was a long road, and a lot of hard work on her part to get herself there, but Ruby couldn't have been prouder at the young woman she was now. "You've become a completely different person, and I mean that in the best possible way."
Georgia could only smile, "Thank you Ruby. Between Dr. Kahn, and everyone helping me train, I feel like I am a different person, no longer scared of my shadow." Clearing her throat, "I don't feel like I'm this burden, even if I didn't have Quinn, I know I would still be in this place mentally, if that makes sense, he's just like the icing on a very well-earned cake."
Lightly nudging her with her shoulder, "I absolutely understand what you mean." Closing her eyes, Ruby let the rest of the car ride wash over her, enjoying the sounds of the city, while she loved their home, it was nice to hear the chatter of the people.
Ruby watched as Angela and Georgia stood at the bow of the ferry, both of them taking turns holding out their arms as the boat made its way to the Statue of Liberty. Pulling out her phone, she took a picture of them holding each other with the biggest smiles on their face, making sure to send it to both Alexander and Quinn.
Glad that she was able to capture a beautiful moment, while she knew that they would have many as a vampire, she was happy that she was able to capture a few as humans, it would give them something to look back on and enjoy the memory.
After the tour, Ruby instructed the driver to take them to The River Café, it was a classy restaurant on the water, overlooking Manhattan, and it didn't hurt that the owner was a familiar so that Ruby could get something to eat as well.
Angela looked around, enjoying being put in the VIP room, "You know this never gets old." She said, growing up poor but now having access to fine dining was still a foreign concept her. While she was sure that Alexander would take her out to a place like this every night, she never wanted to forget who she was at the core.
Ruby couldn't help but smirk, taking a sip of the blood that was brought to her, thrilled that they both looked like they were enjoying their meals, but it was Kevin who had the biggest smile on his face. "You enjoying your steak?" she asked him.
Wiping his mouth, "Yes ma'am. Thank you so much for dinner." In his time as a familiar he knew that Ruby wasn't the same as the other Houses, while you knew that you worked for her, she never made you think that you weren't valuable as person.
"You are most welcome." Not even bothering to tell him to stop calling her ma'am, she's tried, but she figured it was his military training that prevented him for doing it. Looking over at Georgia, "How is your food?" she asked her.
Taking a small sip of her wine, "It is fantastic." Closing her eyes, she let the warmth of the meal settle into her stomach, as she opened her eyes, she looked around the table, "Thank you all for joining me on my last hoorah as a human. I couldn't ask for better people to be with." Lighting touching Angela's shoulder and reaching across the table to touch Ruby's hand. Her eyes falling on Kevin, "And you, always standing guard silently watching over us, thank you for always having our back."
Kevin just smirked, "You're more than welcome." Finishing up his meal, he stood, "And if you ladies will excuse me, I'm going to secure the truck, and confirm with your team Lady Von Esper that you're ready to make your way home as well."
Angela couldn't help but shake her head, "He's amazing. Have you considered having him transition?" Knowing that if he was on her detail, she'd have him changed if he wanted to.
Finishing up her blood, "I have, and I spoke with him in great detail, he doesn't want to. He's married and has a little boy at home. He's perfectly happy living his life out as a human." While she would have loved to change him if that was what he wanted, she would never force him to choose between her family over his.
"That's good, but he lives with you a lot of the time, when does he have time for his family?" Asked Georgia.
Giving her a small smile, "I bought them a house not too far from our property, so that they can be close." Remember his wife repeatedly thanking her.
Angela shared a look with Georgia, knowing that when it was their time to become a vampire, they'd have a lot to live up to, Ruby did set one hell of an example.
Georgia took one last look at the city, enjoying how the sun was starting to set, "I guess we should get back home." Knowing that Quinn would want to see her, and Deacon would want alone time with his wife.
Making a move to stand Ruby led the way out of the restaurant, and out to the street, enjoying how the sun was hitting the buildings and reflecting down on them, letting out a content sigh, she gave Angela a hug, "It was wonderful to see you, perhaps when we make our plans to the zoo, would you care to join us?"
Returning the hug, "You know it." Looking over at Georgia, "Thanks for letting me crash your day, and congratulations on your engagement." With a final look, Angela stepped into her SUV, and instructed the driver to head to the house.
Ruby watched as her SUV moved down the street, her senses were going crazy, looking around she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, turning to let Georgia in, she heard a loud crash, freezing, she turned back to the street that Angela's car just turned, and it was the sound of Angela screaming her name that shook her to her core.
Turning towards Kevin, "GET HER HOME NOW! CALL DEACON! ANGELA HAS BEEN TAKEN!" She barked. Turning on her heels Ruby ran moving the humans out of her way, needing to get to her friend, as she turned the corner, she saw a black BMW speed away.
"ANGELA!" she cried. Looking up, Ruby jumped onto the roofs and started running down the car, keeping her eyes on the vehicle not wanting to lose them. The entire time she ran, her only thought was to save her friend, and kill anyone that dared think that they could take her.
Trailing them got a little harder as they hit the bridge, but luckily, they were on the top deck, so Ruby was able to use the railings to stay above them, but as they turned down off the highway, she had to use a semi-trailer to follow them, lucky for her they were no longer speeding.
After another 15 minutes of carefully tracking them, they pulled up to a small, abandoned warehouse. Keeping herself hidden to the shadows, Ruby could see that there were two guards on the roof, reaching for her phone, she found that it was missing, "Damn it." She hissed to herself, remembering she left the thing in the SUV. With no way to contact Deacon or Alexander, she had to make the choice to go in after her friend, closing her eyes, sending a prayer to whoever was listening that she was strong enough to not only save her friend, but to get them both home safely.
Kevin secured Georgia and sped out of the vicinity, while he hated to leave Ruby, his lady gave him an order, and at the moment Georgia was far more breakable, sparing a glance to the young woman was sitting in the passenger's seat, he could see that she was scared, but holding herself together, good, he didn't need to try and comfort her at the moment.
Pulling up his phone, he dialed Deacon, almost fearing what the man was going to do to him or anyone else that put his wife in danger.
Deacon watched as Blade and Mitsuki left for the airfield, it was still weird for him to see Blade smile, for the longest time, he swore that he didn't even know how to, but perhaps that was what his mate brought out of him, joy. "Have a good flight, please call Ruby when you land, you know she'll worry." He said to him before he got into the truck.
Blade just smirked, "I will. Take care pretty boy." Turning his eyes to his love, smiling when she curled up next to him, "Let's go visit the family." He teased.
Mitsuki just sighed with contentment, "Eric, I'm so happy to show you, my home." Looking at the driver, "To the airport please." Leaning into his chest, she closed her eyes, enjoying how his scent relaxed her.
Quinn snorted, "I swear, unless I was there to see it, I wouldn't believe that Blade would be domesticated." Grabbing a glass of blood, he looked over at the clock, hoping that his fiancé would be heading home soon.
Mercury held her wife's hand, looking over at him, "She'll be home soon enough." Giving him a knowing smile, "So, did she say yes?" she asked, knowing that Raquel spent a lot of time with him selecting the perfect ring for her.
Puffing out his chest, "You know she did." Looking over at Deacon, "I'm about to make an honest woman out of her." He teased.
Raquel couldn't help but smile, "I'm happy for you." She would let Georgia have a little while before she started bombarding her with wedding plans. Smiling at the thought.
Rolling his eyes, "I'm glad to hear it. Have you talked about her transition?" While he didn't care when they did it, they couldn't marry until they were both vampires, stupid but it was tradition.
Downing the last of his blood, "Yeah, she wants to do it after the first of the year, figured that she has a little more than a month to do any last-minute human things." While he wanted her to transition sooner, he would never force her, her happiness was the most important thing to him.
As Deacon went to respond, he felt his phone ring, looking down at the ID, he could see that Kevin was calling, which set his teeth on edge, "Yeah?"
"Sir, Angela was just taken, Lady Frost took off after the kidnappers, she told me to get Georgia back to the compound. We are heading in now."
Closing his eyes, Deacon had to keep himself from crushing the phone, "Where did this happen?" Knowing that he needed to get to the scene quickly.
"The ladies just finished their meal at The River Café, it happened on the side street, I didn't see or hear anything, but Lady Frost must have, and she took off."
Deacon could see the relief on Quinn's face, "Get Georgia here, and you stay here with her, lock it down, Raquel and a few others will stay here to protect our home in case." Disconnecting the call, he looked at his family, "Gear up now."
Dialing Alexander, he hated to be the one to call him, but someone had to.
"Frost, how are you this evening?" He greeted.
"Listen, Angela was taken, Ruby took off after them. They were at The River Café; we are heading there now."
Growling into the phone, he felt murderous, wondering what happened to her bodyguard, if he wasn't dead, he would be. "I'll see you there." Moving quickly, he armed himself, making his way out, "MY MATE HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED, LET'S MOVE." He barked out. Making their way to the garage, Alexander could only hope that she was unharmed, because if anything happened to her, everyone that her kidnappers ever knew would die, slowly, painfully.
Staring at the guards, she knew that she needed to make her way inside, but as she listened, she couldn't help but smile, they weren't doing security checks, rolling her eyes at the stupidity of that, giving the building at the surrounding area's one last look not wanting to miss a camera in her desire to get to Angela. As she cleared the area, Ruby felt her fangs slid into place, she was in kill mode, human or vampire, everyone in that house was dead.
Jumping across the street she landed between the two guards, grabbing one quickly she snapped his neck, dropping him to the ground, and as the second turned towards the sound she snapped his too. Searching them for any weapons, pleased to find a tanto' blade. Pulling it out of its sheath, Ruby slowly made her way towards the roof entrance, doing what she could to keep from making any noises.
Not seeing any guards as she descended the stairs, Ruby kept her ears open, hearing several heartbeats, she could hear Angela's fast paced one, she had to resist the urge to growl, her only chance was to get in undetected.
Clinging to the wall, Ruby could see that there where several humans, but only one vampire, taking a second to really look at him, she knew him, Edmundo Upier, the youngest son of House Upier. That didn't make sense, they were loyal to Alexander.
Her thoughts were cut short as he slapped Angela awake, Ruby held fast, she needed a better position to drop in. Moving as quickly as she could so not draw his attention, keeping her ears on the happenings below, she knew that she wouldn't kill the man, that would be for Alexander.
Angela jerked awake, her eyes falling on the man in front of her, finding her hands handcuffed to the chair, she felt a moment of panic, all of her training couldn't help her if she was unconscious, but she knew if she had enough time she'd be able to get out of here, she just had to wait for the opportunity.
Sticking out her chin, "Your part of the Upier House, what are you doing?" Figured that she could try to get some answers.
Pulling out a gun, holding it to her face, "Because I can. You think that because you and those bitten mutts mating with vampires make you better than I?" Edmundo was furious, he should have the allegiance of Alexander or Sato, but no, a new house had all the power, all because they were mated. He was a pureblood, he deserved the world, a mate and everything else that being a vampire could offer him.
Blinking slowly Angela didn't know what to say, "No one ever said we were better, just fortunate to find our mates."
Hissing at the word, "Are you really his mate? I mean you've been with him for over a year, and yet your still human, perhaps he just wants a pet?" he taunted. Looking down at her, giving her a smirk, "Your death will be slow." With that he shot her several inches above her heart, knowing that she would start choking on her blood. "I hope it hurts, human."
Ruby growled, jumping down, she moved with speed she didn't even know she had, cutting the heads off of some, almost removing the heads of the others, her body was covered in their blood, but it only fueled her, as she snapped the last human into two, her eyes fell on the vampire now staring at her.
Edmundo never seen anyone move that quickly, taking a second he tried to shoot, but found that she was already gone, as he turned to find her, the feeling of a silver blade slicing his arm off that held the gun caused him to scream out in pain, "WHO ARE YOU? HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO MOVE OUTSIDE?"
Kicking him to the ground, Ruby stood over him, "I AM LADY RUBY FROST, HOUSE OF VANGR." Pointing the bloody sword at his face, "I am a daywalker."
No. How could this be, she was a bitten mutt, but she was a daywalker, how was that fair. Regardless, he was older, stronger, and smarter, moving to stand, he found himself on is knees, her arms wrapping around his neck, "LET ME GO, PEASANT!"
"I promise your death will be painful." Without anymore fanfare, she snapped his neck, while it wouldn't kill him permanently, it would incapacitate him for about an hour. Dropping his body, she turned towards Angela, her eyes finding her gasping for air.
Pulling the cuffs off her, she pulled her close, "Angela," her voice breaking. Moving her towards Edmundo, wanting to make sure that he didn't get up too soon, "Please. Tell me what you want?"
Coughing up blood, "Please Ruby, I don't want to leave Alexander." She gasped out.
Nodding, Ruby carefully laid her down, her hands searching Edmundo's body, finding a phone, dialing the number to the one person can help her.
Deacon could see that Alexander was demanding the surveillance for the entire block, but it was taking time, and the man was on edge, not that he could blame him, if this was Ruby he'd start burning the city building by building until he found her.
Feeling his phone, he looked at it, not recognizing the number, but it could be someone with information, "WHAT?" he barked.
"DEACON!" Her voice panicked.
"RUBY, where are you, where's Angela?" Knowing that they needed to find them soon, looking up Alexander was standing in front of him, putting the phone on speaker.
"She's dying, tell me how to turn her, she asked me to save her, and I don't know how. Please Deacon."
He could hear her fear in her voice, his eyes locking on Alexander's, "Ruby, you're going need to bite her, and drink, to the point of her death, but stopping before her heart stops."
Closing her eyes, "OK." Putting down the phone, her eyes locking on Angela's, "I'm sorry, but this part hurts."
Smiling up at her friend, "Love you, Ruby." Angela trusting her friend.
Lifting her up, "Forgive me." Being as gentle as she could Ruby bit down, feeling the moment Angela tensed, slowly drinking, listening to her heart, not wanting to rush it and miss the moment when to stop, but it didn't take long for her heart to start beating slowly, soon it was barely thumping. Pulling her fangs out, she watched as Angela's eyes closed. "Oh god."
Grabbing the phone, "Her heart stopped right after I stopped biting, is she dead? DID I KILL HER?" she cried out. Worried that she didn't do this right.
Deacon knew that Alexander was tracing the call, "No my goddess," moving quickly he followed Alexander to his truck, "Ruby, we are tracing the call, keep the line open. We are coming my love."
Looking down at her friend, Ruby could feel the tears sliding down her face, "OK. Please hurry." Feeling scared that she did something wrong. Gently petting her hair, Ruby lifted her up, and moved to the shitty couch that was there, sitting down with her, keeping her head in her lap, "Angela, you were my first friend outside of Deacon's House, please, don't you dare die on me, I love you too much."
Alexander could feel his heart breaking, he knew somewhere in his gut that Angela would be fine, but the fact that Ruby was there now, worried that she'd done something wrong was devastating to hear. His eyes looking over at Deacon, he could see the tension in his face, "It seems as though I owe your mate another debt of gratitude."
Not even bothering to look over, he was too focused on Ruby talking to Angela, "She loves her, and Georgia. There isn't much Ruby wouldn't do for them." Knowing that was the truth.
Keeping her ears and eyes open, Ruby could see that Edmundo starting to move, gently putting Angela's head on the couch, she walked over putting her knee into his chest, as he opened his eyes, Ruby hissed and twisted his head again. Satisfied that he wasn't going to move again, she grabbed his gun and made her way back to Angela, lifting her back up and keeping her eyes on the front doors, anything that moved would die.
Alexander busted in, following the strong scent of blood, Deacon was right on his heels, as they entered the room, the sight before them was startling, bodies everywhere, in various pieces, but it was the image of Ruby covered in blood, her eyes on theirs, but seeing Angela lay there, moved him forward.
Her eyes falling on Alexander, Ruby stood lifting Angela with her, carefully placing her in his arms, "Please tell me I did this right?" Worried that she somehow screwed up.
Pulling her body close to his chest, sniffing her neck, feeling relief as he could smell her change, locking eyes on Ruby, "You did. I don't know how I will ever repay you." Looking around, he knew that this mess needed to be handled but it was Ruby that surprised him.
"Go, get her home and fed. I'll be there tomorrow night." She said, knowing that he needed to get her somewhere safe as she finished her transition.
Nodding he moved out of the warehouse, placing her in the car, and instructing the driver to get them home quickly.
Deacon watched as her body sank down, moving towards her, he wrapped his arms around her, he could feel her tears, "Shhh, my goddess, you did wonderfully." He knew that he was getting covered in blood, but he didn't give a fuck, his love was safe, and she saved her friend, and he was so fucking proud of her.
Letting her husband hold her for a few more moments, she could feel her family standing around, leaning back her eyes locked on Quinn's, "Did Kevin get Georgia to safety?" She breathed out.
Nodding, "Yes. Raquel texted me the moment they pulled into the driveway. The compound is on lockdown."
Relief washed over her, giving Deacon a swift kiss, she made a move to stand, happy that he didn't let her go, but it was time to finish this. Pointing to the vampire on the floor, "I didn't kill him, I just incapacitated him, figuring that Alexander would want the pleasure." Looking around the warehouse, seeing human parts everywhere, "I was less concerned with them." Pointing to the pieces.
Deacon couldn't help but chuckle, "You look good covered in blood." He teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Shaking her head, "Yeah? Bloodbath, it's a new scent I'm trying." Looking up she found Quinn cleaning up the pieces and Mercury securing the body of Edmundo, "Get him to the cell, he's there until Alexander say's otherwise."
Mercury smiled, "You got it." Slipping on pair of vampire cuffs, she moved him to the other truck, and made her way home, looking forward to the punishment that Alexander had in store for him, knowing that it would be a very public execution.
By the time they got home the sun was starting to rise, wrapping herself around her husband, Ruby needed him in a way that was almost primal, straddling his hips, she looked down at him, "Please." She begged.
Feeling her pussy against the tip of his cock, Deacon slowly thrusted upwards, letting the tip of his cock tease her, "What do you want, my goddess?" he asked, his body humming.
Slowly sliding down, Ruby felt her body vibrate at the connection, "You. Please."
Gripping her hips, he thrusted up, enjoying her hand wrapped around his forearms, using them as stabilizer.
Ruby set an inhuman pace, needing to reach her orgasm quickly, and wanting to feel him cum inside her body, she could feel her body starting to coil, with her head tilted back, she couldn't stop the cry of pleasure that course through her body, using her thighs she held herself against his hips. Rolling her hips into his, needing him to fall over the edge with her. "Cum baby, please." She cried out.
Holding her hips, he knew that if she was human, she would have bruises. It was hearing her cry out as she came, begging for him to join her, sitting up his fangs finding their way into her breasts, enjoying the blood that washed over his tongue, as his balls tightened, he felt himself fall over the edge. Using his arms, he held her still as he stroked himself into her body.
Ruby fell forward as he fell back, her head resting on his, "I love you." She murmured out, the stress of the evening finally taking its toll.
Moving some of her blonde hair, he placed a kiss on her forehead, "And I love you, my goddess." Closing his eyes, he let his body slip into sleep, knowing that the next few days would be busy, between Angela transitioning and dealing with House Upier, he wanted to get as much sleep as he could.
Across town Alexander held his mate dearly, grateful that she was able to feed and handle herself with the same care that Ruby did. As he felt her drift to sleep, he wasn't too far behind her, his last thought was looking forward to getting answers from Edmundo, seeing how far this treachery went in his House.
