Me: I am glad you all liked the last chapter.
This chapter is just a filler to let Abelia bond with everyone, but there's one person I wanted her to bond with. That's all I'm telling you, so you'll have to see for yourself.
Enjoy!
Vision or Dream - *Talking*
Cybertronian speaking - "Talking"
Comm Link Bot/Con/Human/Over Video/Bond - "talking"
Lennox House
Abelia groaned, lifting herself out of bed in the guest room she was given. Looking over at the alarm clock, she finds that it's only 9:24 am. She rubbed her head, getting out of bed and making it before heading over to the dresser. She blinked in surprise, rubbing her eyes to rub the sleep out of them as she stared at herself in the mirror.
Okay, she was pretty sure her clothes should be at least somewhat wrinkled after sleeping in them, but they looked like she just put them on. Not to mention her hair wasn't even bedhead or in need of brushing. Definitely needed to Ratchet about that.
Abelia walked downstairs and finds that Will and Sarah are up with Annabelle. Sarah looks up from feeding Annabelle and smiles.
"Good morning, Abelia," Sarah said, giving Annabelle another bite of baby food from the spoon. Will turns around from where he is at the stove and waves, "Hello, Abelia. I was wondering if I'd had to wake you up."
Abelia blinked in surprise, not used to being welcomed in the morning.
"Oh, um, good morning," she said, giving the two a smile.
"Breakfast will be done soon," Will said, "I don't know what you like so I went with bacon, eggs, corn beef hash, and toast."
"Oh that's just fine," Abelia said. She looked out the window, gazing at the barns, and saw Ironhide and Ratchet outside of them. Will followed her gaze and smiled.
"They took shifts in case Decepticons found us. They didn't say anything, but I could tell."
"Course you would," Abelia stated, looking at Will. She turned her gaze to look at the stove behind him and said, "You're burning the eggs."
"What," Will exclaimed, turning and letting out a cry of 'dang it', when he saw the burnt eggs. Sarah and Abelia laughed as Will tried to save the eggs.
"Breakfast is going to be a bit longer," Sarah smirked and Abelia laughed in agreement. After she was done laughing, Abelia let out a couple of coughs, making Sarah narrow her eyes in concern.
"Will told me about the danger you are in, about the coma," Sarah admitted.
Abelia sighed, sadly smiling, "Yeah. Can't really be helped. The Autobots are trying to help me."
"Is there anything I can do?"
Abelia was once again surprised and admittedly, a little shocked, "You want to help me?"
Sarah looked shocked at the question, "Of course, I want to help."
"Well, I don't know how, but Ratchet should give you some answers," Abelia admitted. She decided to check on the Autobots as she wasn't sure how many more surprises she could take. "I'm checking on the bots. Call me when breakfast is done."
She quickly made her escape through the back door, but her heighten hearing allowed her to hear Sarah saying, "Why did she seem so shocked?" She also heard Will's reply, "Her so-called parents weren't the best." and also Sarah's demand of, "Tell me."
She could feel Optimus reaching out in concern over the bond, but she sent calming waves over to him to tell him she was alright.
She shook her head again as she got closer to the barns, Ratchet and Ironhide looking up as she approached.
"Hello, Ironhide and Ratchet," Abelia smiled, giving them both a wave.
"Hey, youngling," Ironhide said gruffly.
"Greetings Abelia," Ratchet stated.
Abelia looked around, trying to find the other three.
"Bumblebee and Jazz are still in recharge and Optimus is out on patrol. He'll be back soon," Ironhide said, guessing what Abelia was doing.
"Oh," Abelia said, rubbing the back of her head.
Ratchet looked at Abelia, his scanners picking up a slightly faster heartbeat. He looked Abelia over, seeing how she looked slightly confused and surprised.
"What is it, Abelia," Ratchet asked, getting the young girl's attention.
Abelia sighed, dropping her hand. "Will told Sarah about my coma issue. She asked if there was any way she could help. Not only that, they both were making breakfast, and they wanted me with them."
"Why is that bothering you," Ratchet asked, kneeling down to be closer to Abelia. Abelia was gonna bring that up to Will, that humans need high platforms so they could speak to the Autobots at eye level, "Don't humans normally eat breakfast with others?"
Groaning, Abelia looked up at Ratchet's face. "So, I'm not used to it. I'm not used to people wanting to help me or even make me breakfast."
"It unnerves you," Ratchet stated.
"Yeah. It does."
"Well, you'll just have to get used to it. Will and Sarah seem intent on ensuring you are cared for by your human ways. They care about you greatly," Ratchet spoke gently to Abelia.
Abelia sighed, "I know. It's just...just..."
"Just what, youngling," Ironhide urged, bending down slightly.
Groaning, Abelia sat down on the ground and crossed her arms, and growled, "I'm not used to people caring! I know they care about me, but actually seeing them do things that show they care, that's just different. I'm used to people leaving."
"So it's something you're not used to," Ratchet observed.
"Yes."
"Well, youngling, face it," Ironhide stated, "Don't let this get to you. It will take time, but you'll get used to it. Get used to them showing how much they care about you because it's not a bad thing."
Abelia smiled up at Ironhide, "You know, you sounded pretty wise there."
Ironhide huffed, a small grin forming on their faceplates. "Well, I am a millennia years older than you."
Abelia laughed, uncrossing her arms and getting up. She gave Ironhide a smirk as she tilted her head. "You know, I just thought of something. In human years, how old are you mechs?"
Ratchet and Ironhide paused, tilting their heads as they thought about Abelia's question. After about a minute, they both looked back at her.
"I would be 47 in human years," Ironhide stated, "And Jazz would be 36."
"I would be 47 as well," Ratchet spoke as he rubbed his chin plates in a human fashion, "Bumblebee would be 20. Also, your question gave me an idea for a project I'm working on."
"Those ages I can understand," Abelia admitted, "Especially Bumblebee since he stuck me as sort of young. What about Optimus?"
"29."
Abelia choked shock dancing in her eyes, "What?"
"Optimus would be 29 in your years," Ratchet stated.
Abelia thought about this. If Optimus was only 29, that meant he was really young when he was named the next Prime. If she remembered right, he was nearing the end of his youngling years when he was named next Prime. Still, that might he was young before that too with everything before that.
"Wow, I'm shocked," Abelia admitted, "How did you two feel taking orders from someone younger than you?"
"I didn't have a problem with it because before I followed him, I'd seen him drag injured mechs and femmes to the Medbay. He would let himself get checked out, but he would tell every Medic to work on the others before himself. That alone won my respect, even though I fought with him about getting himself checked out during that time," Ratchet explained.
Ironhide huffed, but when Abelia looked at him, he answered.
"At the time, it was something that confused and upset me," Ironhide admitted, "I was the best in my class. I became a weapons specialist because it was expected of me, but I liked what I did. Protecting Cybertron from threats on the planet or off it, even if I wanted to knock some of those High Ranks off the planet. So when Orion appeared before us on the battlefield, I thought he should be anywhere but here. Here was someone younger than me on the battlefield, giving me orders. I really didn't think he had a place there. That was until he took a hit for me. That changed my mind."
"I can see why. He saved you," Abelia said but Ironhide shook his head, a sad smile dancing in his optics.
"No, he saved me from my choices after I disobeyed his order. He said not to charge into a building Decepticons were running into, that it was a trap. Everybot listened, but I didn't. I told him, "How would you know? A young bot like you doesn't have a place here. You should be with the other High Ranks hiding from the battles we fight instead of pretending you care!" After I said that, I ran into the building. I brought down Decepticons in my way, but Optimus was right. It was a trap.
I was blindsided and pinned down under a pillar and a Decepticon leveled their gun at me. I thought it was it for me. The next thing I know, Orion is in front of me, taking the hit to his shoulder. He took care of the Decepticons and got me unpinned. He got me out of there and when I apologized for my insults, he just smiled and said, "Does this prove I care?" At that moment, I knew I would follow his orders."
"Wow, Ironhide," Abelia said, a little smile on her face, "Sounds like it was quite an awakening."
"It was."
"Speaking of Ranks," Abelia turned to Ratchet, "Optimus told me you were a Noble Elite before he became a Medic. What made you decide that?"
Ratchet chuckled, "Well, since you asked. During a celebration, something went wrong and one of the beams supporting the overhang I was standing on collapsed. The others were okay since they were able to get to safety, but I fell a good hundred feet. We were at the top of the building. I survived, but I received damage to my legs and hands from trying to catch myself. To make matters worse, some debris had me pinned by my legs, between the side of the building and the broken overhang so if it moved I would fall to my death. I also had a leaking Energon line. Time was short and wasn't on my side.
But then a group of Rescue Bots showed up, lead by a mech named High Tide. He had one of his flyers fly up to me to know how I was fairing and how injured I was. High Tide, upon learning how injured I was, used his Rescue Rig to enter his Megabot form, which allowed him to hold onto the overhang so it wouldn't collapse. His team then managed to free me and bring me to get medical attention. The damage to my legs was fixed, but my hands were damaged so much that they would be sensitive for the rest of my life.
High Tide and his team came to see how I was fairing and it was then I realized I good do something good. My hands may have been sensitive, but Medic needed sensitive hands in order to work. I decided to become a Medic after that. I thank High Tide and his team and also the Medics that worked on me for my choice."
"That's amazing Ratchet," Abelia said, "But what did your family think of your choice?"
"They didn't understand at first, and for a good while, they didn't speak to me. I went about fifty human years without contact before an accident brought my Sire to the Medbay I was working in."
"Talk about fate," Abelia stated.
"That's one way to put it," Ratchet smiled, "After that, they understood. They were speaking to me, again. Still, they hinted they wanted to be other things from time to time, but they now understood my choice. When the war began, they understood even more."
Abelia wanted to ask what happened to them but knowing what war can do, knowing that nothing good could have happened to Ratchet's family. The look on his face helped settled the fact that either some of them died, or all of them did.
At that moment, Abelia heard footsteps coming up from behind Ratchet and Ironhide. Turning to look, the three of them saw Optimus come around the second barn. He gave them a nod before he entered the second barn. He was in there for about a minute before he exited, Jazz and Bumblebee following him, now awake.
Abelia mused on the fact she barely heard anything in the barn when Optimus entered, leaving her to think either they Comm Linked or they were good at staying quiet, somewhat.
Her thoughts on the subject were interrupted when she felt a drop of water hit her head. On reflex, she lifted a hand to rub the spot as she looked up. The skies had some clouds in them, who apparently decided the world needed some rain, no matter how light it was. She didn't mind the rain that much, but her alien friends did.
"What's going on," Bumblebee asked, alarmed when he noticed the rain.
"It's acid rain," Jazz exclaimed, hands raised to protect his head and chest plates. The others copied his actions, covering their heads and chests from the rain.
Abelia felt the panic coming through Optimus's side of the bond and knew that she had to calm their rising panic. She could laugh about this all later once she made them understand what rain was.
"No guys! It's okay! It's just rain! Not acid rain, but rain," Abelia exclaimed, raising her hands at the panicking Autobots before they did anything else, "It's normal! It's not going to melt you!"
This made the Autobots pause, looking down at Abelia before they checked themselves. After seeing that the rain wasn't melting their armor, they slowly brought their arms down. Abelia sighed in relief.
"This is normal for you," Bumblebee asked, carefully watching the rain as it fell from the sky.
"Yes. Rain is important because it waters the trees and plants, and gives animals water. It also goes into rivers, ponds, and lakes. There are different types of rain, this type won't last long, but we might see a rainbow later if the sun comes out," Abelia explained.
"Rainbow? How can the rain have a bow, " Ratchet asked.
Abelia giggled, covering her mouth and shaking her head. "No, not an actual bow. A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. They appear in color order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, or violet whatever you want to call it. I hope one appears, they are rather beautiful and I think you'll like it."
"And this is the result of weather," Optimus asked.
"Yes. There are both good and bad things that come with the weather," Abelia told them.
"Abelia!"
Abelia turned around. Sarah was standing on the back porch. She was lifting two plates in the air for Abelia to see, "Breakfast is done! Come and eat!"
Beckoning the Autobots to follow her because just because they couldn't eat human food doesn't mean they couldn't hold a conversation, Abelia made her way over to Sarah. Sarah set the plates down on the table outside before heading back inside. When Abelia reached the back porch, Sarah was bringing the baby seat out for Annabelle. Will followed after his wife, holding his plate of food with one hand and his daughter in the other.
They took their seats and started to eat.
"Will is a good cook. At least he doesn't suck even when he burnt the food the first time", Abelia thought.
"Is that supposed to mean something?"
Abelia jumped a little, lifting her eyes to meet Optimus's with a little grin. "That's gonna surprise me for a while."
"Sorry," Optimus said as he slowly sat down, the other Autobots following him.
"What happened," Will asked.
"I made a thought and he replied to it," Abelia told him.
"Oh."
Abelia chuckled as she took another bite of her bacon. She glanced at Optimus and smirked. "Not many human men can cook. Women as well, but it's a thing about men sucking at cooking or making food."
"Human concept?"
"In a way."
"So, Ratchet, a question for you," Sarah spoke, drawing Abelia out of her conversation with Optimis to hear what the woman was saying, "About Abelia's coma, is there anything I can do to help out?"
"Anything we can do," Will added, feeding Annabelle a bit of her breakfast.
Abelia paused, hiding her shock by looking down at her plate. Remembering Ironhide's words from before, she took a deep breath before she started eating again. She would have to get used to people caring, and hiding how she feels won't do anything. For now, she decided to listen to what Ratchet had to say to Sarah's question.
Ratchet tapped his temple, and two holograms of Abelia appeared before them, one was her in human form, the other of her in Cybertronian form. Sarah's mouth was in a perfect 'o' of amazement, while Will's eyes held the same awed look. Abelia just grinned.
"From what I uncovered, Abelia's human side has every human body part, but that's all a disguise. All of her 'human organs' are in fact, in the close human term, Cybertronian organs in disguise. They mimic the jobs the human organs do, but they are acting like how our kind does. In fact, that's what I'm calling them right now, Mimics. Anyway, they look different and everything, but with time I'm sure I can identify what each disguised organ is in Cybertronian terms with Abelia's help of course," Ratchet added, looking down at the girl in question.
"So my organs are disguised as Cybertronian organs mimicking human ones. Good to know," Abelia commented, having on stopped eating to listen to Ratchet.
"Look's like you take being an alien-in-disguise in a different way than they do," Will joked.
Sarah smiled as Abelia snorted.
Ratchet nodded, "You would be right in that regard, Will. In fact, Abelia has nano-bites similar to us, but instead of just healing her, they act as a transforming guide, turning her human side into her Cybertronian. One thing I did find that Abelia has that humans don't is this," Ratchet pointed to a small red blinking area on the hologram of Abelia's body, "That red dot is where the human liver would be has been replaced with T-Cog. A T-Cog is how we transform from vehicle forms to bipedal and visa versa. Abelia's T-Cog lets her transform from human to Cybertronian, her Alt Mode."
Ratchet looked at Abelia and grinned, "Probably why you don't need to brush your hair or deal with wrinkled clothes since it's part of your Alt Mode."
Abelia gasped, shocked, "What? How did you know that?"
"Optimus heard your thought this morning and told me."
Abelia glanced at her brother, who was busy not looking at her. That doesn't stop the sheepish emotions coming through on his end of the bond. Abelia smirked, "I see."
"What? No need to change clothes or brush hair? I'm jealous," Sarah admits leveling Abelia with a pout that made Abelia burst into laughter. Sarah smirked in victory at hearing Abelia's much-needed laughter.
Abelia looked at Sarah, "I'm certain I can change my Alt Mode Clothes like how they can change their forms looks as well. Just, got to find out how."
Ratchet coughed slightly, getting everyone's attention before he continued.
"All that aside, Abelia survived this all long because when she ate or drank anything, the Cybertronian organ disguised as a stomach would filter it, turning it into something she could survive on. However, when her Cybertronian side woke up fully, it wanted the one thing she was running out on."
"Pure Energon," Sarah stated, remembering from yesterday.
"Yes. Right now, the only thing you can do is make sure she eats. That helps her," Ratchet said.
"Oh, I definitely will," Sarah spoke, a hard look in her eyes as determination grew in them. Abelia felt her throat tighten, but she just looked down and smiled, a strange unknown feeling resting on her heart, or was it a spark?
"One thing I do know," Ratchet grinned, an evil look coming across his face, "Now that I think about it, Abelia will have to learn about the...anatomy of our kind since she's technically one of us."
Abelia paused, unsure of what she just heard was actually said. But once Sarah and Will started laughing, Abelia blushed and her face turned red. She stood up, hands clutched into fists as she glared at Ratchet in embarrassment.
"RATCHET!"
The Autobots joined in Sarah's and Will's laughter, Abelia's embarrassment increasing when Annabelle, Annabelle, started laughing because everyone else was.
Abelia huffed, crossed her arms and sat down heavily. "You said that on purpose."
"I did. I guess the information about humans being embarrassed about things like that."
A slow evil smile appeared on her face. "Watch your back, Sparkie. I will get you back for this."
The Autobots ceased laughing, shivering at the look on Abelia's face. It reminded them of the Terror Twins when they were planning a prank and suddenly feared what Abelia would do and dreaded the moment she would meet them.
Will laughed and raised a hand to the Autobots, "One thing you guys, I mean, Mechs need to know, is that when a woman says that they will get you back, they will find a way to get you back no matter how long it takes them."
"Chromia would like you," Bumblebee said suddenly, "There aren't many people who can make Ironhide shiver."
"I would like to say you are wrong," Ironhide started before he sighed, "But you aren't wrong."
Abelia laughed before a thought came to her, causing her to look at the Autobots, mostly Ironhide and Bumblebee.
"Ratchet mentioned Ironhide and Bumblebee have something about a Guardian bond. Is that like an adoption," Abelia asked.
"Adoption," Jazz asked, tilting his head.
"The action or fact of legally taking another's child and bringing it up as one's own, or the fact of being adopted," Sarah says, "Basically, you can either take in a family member or someone not related to you if they have no place to go."
"Oh, we have dat! We just call dat a Bonding," Jazz stated, his confusion fading.
"Yes. In human terms, I adopted Bumblebee," Ironhide said, "I found him after a Decepticon attack, scared and injured. When I picked him up, he ended up imprinting on me and created a Guardian Bond. Breaking it or sending him away would have hurt him or worse, so Bumblebee grew up among the Autobots."
"Hmm," Abeila grinned, "Papa Ironhide and Son Bumblebee, how cute. I guess Chromia was happy?"
The Autobots chuckled.
"Chromia wouldn't let anyone but Ironhide near Bumblebee once the kid made the bond with her. And angering a femme who was a weapons specialist and bodyguard was not a good idea, " Optimus stated.
"That's something our races have in common," Will stated, watching as Annabelle ate the last bite of her breakfast.
Sarah looked at the breakfast plates and saw that they were empty, the food having been eaten while they all talked to the Autobots. She stood up, grabbed her plate and looked at Abelia and Will, "Okay, give your plates. No sense in leaving them here when I can clean and put them away."
Will handed his wife his plate while he took Annabelle out of her seat to burp her, looking content as he held his daughter. Abelia smiled at the sight, glad she could help Will get home.
She stood up, grabbing her plate so she could give it to Sarah, who was holding her hand out for the plate. Abelia's grip on the plate was firm between both her hands, ready to give the plate to Sarah.
So when her grip went lax and the plate fell, shattering when it hit the ground, she could only stare in confusion.
Annabelle started crying at the noise, Will shifting his hold on her to comfort her. Sarah gasped before rushing inside. The Autobots, sensing something was wrong, had leaned in slightly, concern dancing around in their optics.
Throughout all of this, Abelia was looking at the ground and the broken plate at her feet, barely thinking about the fact she was glad she was wearing boots, but then again, the glass wouldn't have hurt her if a bullet couldn't.
She glanced at her hands, slowly clutching and unclutching her hands. She was sure she had a solid grip, so why did her grip fail?
"Abelia? You alright?"
Abelia looked up at Will, Annabelle letting out whines. Will looked at her concerned, rubbing his daughter's head. It was then Abelia felt the concern flowing throughout her like waves. She took a quick glance at Optimus, who was staring at Abelia in concern.
"My grip was solid and suddenly, it went weak," Abelia said, shifting her gaze to look at Ratchet, "Ratchet?"
Ratchet was looking through the little computer on his wrist. After a couple of seconds, he looked at Abelia.
"One of the side effects besides coughing fits is a weakening grip."
Abelia snorts, "Of course. I'll be right back. Sorry about the plate, Will."
"It's just a plate," Will said, "It's okay. We can get another." Not another you, went unsaid but heard anyway.
Shaking her head, Abelia walked over to the door, only for Sarah to walk out of the house, a broom and dustpan in her hand. Her burning gaze froze Abelia in her place.
"Will's right," Sarah spoke, eyes baring into Abelia's eyes, "Nothing to be sorry about a plate." Not your fault, were the words unspoken.
Abelia's eyes widen before she walked past Sarah and into the house, away from the concerning gazes of anyone and the fear for her.
She walked right into the bathroom and closed the door. She grasp the sink, ducking her head so she wouldn't have to look in the mirror. She took a deep breath and then looked up at her face.
Her uncovered eye gazed back at her. Abelia stared at her reflection for a couple of seconds before her eyes started glowing, the glow of the other eyes peeking out from under her hair. Slightly smirking, Abelia willed her eyes to stop glowing.
Abelia shielded her feelings from Optimus, not wanting him to feel her emotions at the moment, and sighed, bringing a hand up to her head.
A plate. Her grip failed and she dropped a plate! It was just a plate, easily replaced, but what if the next thing she dropped wasn't a plate and was something more important? Better play it safe for now and be careful with anything breakable.
She paused, her thought halting in her tracks.
"You're kidding me," Abelia said to herself, "Aliens don't bother you, being one yourself shocked you, but people caring about you and dropping a plate is getting you all worked up? Are you joking with me?"
Abelia laughed, a slightly hysterical tune to it as she stared at her reflection and pointed at the mirror. "Are you kidding me?! You nearly died a couple of days ago! Why is still so different for you!? Why can't you take it!? You had no problem risking your life before!"
Because you're not risking your life for the ones you care for right now, but they feel like they can't do enough to save you, came the thought that appeared in her head right away.
Abelia deflected at her thought and sighed, resting her head against the sink.
Abelia-
Look at me, I will never pass for a perfect being.
Or a perfect daughter.
Can it be, I′m not meant to play this part?
Now I see that if I were truly to be myself I would break my family′s heart.
Abelia was half of two races, she was far from being perfect at one thing. She didn't know enough about half her race and felt isolated from the other and she was technically dying. Heck, she was disowned because her human parents disliked her real self.
Unknown to Abelia, Sarah was standing outside the bathroom. She had cleaned up the plate and put the broom and dustpan away, but she heard Abelia start shouting at herself and went to check out her. But before she knocked on the door, Abelia started singing. Sarah had tears coming to her eyes at hearing Abelia sing.
Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection someone I don′t know?
Abelia lifted her head to look at her reflection in the mirror, looking lost and confused. She was so confident before, where was all that confidence now with these simple events? Abelia watched as her eyes started glowing again, Allspark energy sadly flowing around her.
Somehow I cannot hide who I am though I′ve tried.
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Was she trying too hard? Was she trying too much with everything? She couldn't lie and say that it didn't bother her that she could die. Was she really doing herself any favors by hiding how she feels?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Abelia's eyes stopped glowing and she closed her eyes, the Allspark energy slowly fading anyway.
She sighed, rubbing at her eyes. She took off her arm gloves and turned on the water so she could wash her face. A knock at the door made Abelia jump a little, the last of the Allspark energy fading away.
"It's Sarah. Can I come in?"
Abelia felt embarrassed and ashamed, knowing that Sarah must have heard her. Still, Abelia took a deep breath and nodded, "Yeah."
Sarah opened the door as Abelia washed her face. Sarah stood silently in the doorway. Abelia waited for Sarah to ask her about her yelling, her singing, or even both. But Sarah didn't, instead, she asked about something else.
"Nice tattoos."
Abelia looked at her in confusion, "What?"
"On your arms."
Abelia looked at her arms, flipping them so her palms faced up. On each of her arms, there were three different symbols. The symbols translated into the order they were in Life, Creation, and Destruction thanks to her knowledge.
Abelia chuckled, "Symbols of my gift, or my abilities."
Sarah nodded. Abelia dried her hands before putting her gloves back on.
"Your strong," Sarah said.
Abelia looked at Sarah. The woman stepped forward, grabbing Abelia's shoulder and pulling her to sit on the tub's edge. Sarah smiled at Abelia.
"I'm not going to pretend I know what you're going through because I don't. But what I do know is that what your going through right now you shouldn't be alone. But we are not expecting you to hide how you feel. It's okay to be scared," Sarah told Abelia.
"But I wasn't scared of the Decepticons and Megatron or even Sector Seven," Abelia stated dryly, crossing her arms.
Sarah shook her head, "Will gets scared when he enters the battlefield and I'm pretty sure the Autobots do as well. But it's not the battle that frightens them. It's the fact if they die, what is going to happen after."
Abelia shallowed, looking down. Sarah hesitated for a moment before wrapping her hand around Abelia.
"Abelia, what is getting to you? Dying doesn't scare you, I can see that. So I have to ask, what is?"
Abelia didn't speak right away, Sarah waiting patiently for Abelia to make up her mind. Finally, Abelia did.
"I'm not scared of dying, but what will happen afterward," Abelia admits, "The Autobots are trying to help me the best they can. But if I die, the Allspark will leave me, returning to the Cube state. I'm their hope, their light, their faith. As long as I live they have something to fight for, not that they didn't before. But now they have a name, a face and that's me. I'm scared that if I die..."
"Then they might lose their will to keep fighting," Sarah finished.
Abelia nodded. Sarah stayed silent as she thought about what Abelia just told her. From what she was told about the Allspark, it's a source of life and power for the Autobots and their kind. Abelia carried more than the Allspark in her, she was a symbol.
"You shouldn't let yourself be brought down by this. Talk to the Autobots, I'm certain they can help you. You shouldn't apologize for being yourself, for having feelings or a heart, or spark," Sarah said.
Abelia looked at Sarah in shock. Sarah smiled, "Don't let this get in your way of living or you won't live at all."
Abelia didn't know what to say. She just stared at Sarah in shock. Sarah smiled, bringing Abelia into a hug. Abelia tensed before melting, hugging Sarah back, a smile resting on her face.
Sarah started humming and Abelia found herself listening to the calming noise. But then Sarah started singing.
Sarah-
Hush now, don't be scared.
Through this tide of darkness.
Shadows may march, thunders may roar.
But peace will soon prevail.
Through our land, this sacred land, nightmares spread confusion.
But stand your ground, until you've found, the strength to light your way.
Yeah, Will was right. Sarah did sing really well. Abelia smiled, pulling away from Sarah.
"Thank you, Sarah," Abelia said, touched that the woman she knew only for a day come to her side when she low.
Sarah laughed, not saying anything, only letting go of Abelia when the young girl stood up.
"Let's get back to the others before they come for us," Abelia stated.
The two left the bathroom, heading back to the others. When they exited the house, Annabelle was playing with Will, Ironhide watching them with careful optics. Ratchet was looking at his mini-computer with Jazz and Bumblebee near him, seemly waiting for something. Optimus was looking concerned, hand at his chest as he watched the door, his optics lightening up when he saw Abelia and Sarah exit.
Abelia took a deep breath as eyes and optics turned to her.
"I'm not going to lie and say I'm not afraid," Abelia started, "But I'm not going to let this coma threat get in the way of me living. I'm not going to watch my life go by. Because if watching is all you're gonna do, then you're gonna watch your life go by without ya."
Will blinked, "Did you just quote 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' ?"
Abelia nodded, rubbing the back of her head, "It's one of the few Disney movies I watched. I didn't get a chance to watch a lot of Disney."
"Abelia."
Abelia turned to Optimus, who was looking at her softly, "We aren't going to lie and say we are not afraid for you, but we will not stop you from living your life while we try to save it."
Abelia smiled, "Thanks. That means a lot."
Will stood up and walked over to Abelia, handing Annabelle to Sarah. Taking Abelia by the shoulder, Will looked at her.
"Now that's said, I believe I misheard you saying you didn't get to watch a lot of Disney," Will said to her.
Abelia frowned in confusion, "No, I said that."
Will stared at her for a couple of seconds before shaking his head, and heading back inside the house.
"Nope, nope, nope. I refuse to let someone not watch Disney because they didn't get a chance. I am so changing that."
Abelia stared dumbfounded at where Will disappeared before looking at Sarah for answers. Sarah shrugged to the best she could while holding a baby.
"Will brought a lot of Disney movies. The fact you say you didn't watch them kinda upsets him, so he is fixing that," Sarah stated before turning to look at the Autobots, "He's probably going to bring his portable TV out we can watch it out here. I got it for him as a birthday present when we first got together."
"Movie? TV," Bumblebee asked.
As Sarah and Abelia told the Autobots about movies and TV, Will brought out his portable TV and a box of Disney movies, a lot of them.
They spent the entire day watching Disney movies, oldest to the newest. There were some breaks for Annabelle to be put to bed and to get some food, They also had to pause the movies sometimes to answer the Autobots' questions about something happenings in the movie.
'Are these based on true events?' '
Sometimes, not all the time.'
'Why do they always seem to sing?'
'It's a movie. Plus it kinda fits a theme. Also to catch attention and for others to relate to the characters. And to catch people by messing with their feelings.'
Yeah, small questions like that.
Before Abelia knew it, the sun was setting, having spent the entire day with the Autobots and the Lennox's watching Disney movies. Ratchet was messing with something on his computer every once in a while, clearly working on something, but when asked, he said he was working on something else at the moment besides researching.
After eating a rather wonderful dinner, Abelia was looking out at the stars while sitting on Optimus's shoulder, who was looking at the stars with her.
Sarah came over to them as Will and Ironhide seemed to be in a deep conversation.
"Looking at the stars,' Sarah smirked.
Abelia laughed, "Yep. Wanna up come here?"
Sarah paused and looked up at Optimus, "Is that okay?"
Optimus smiled, "It's okay with me."
Optimus brought his hand down, Sarah slowly climbing onto Optimus's hand and holding on as he brought her up to Abelia. Abelia helped Sarah take a seat and together, the three of them looked at the stars. Sarah sighed.
"My father got me into stars when I was a kid."
Abelia glanced at her, "He did?"
Sarah nodded, "Yeah. We used to spend a lot of nights looking up at the stars and just talking about them. As I grew up, I wanted to explore space."
"An astronaut," Abelia asked as she listened to the story. Optimus was listening as well, glancing at the two.
Sarah nodded with a laugh.
"Yes. However, during my time growing up, females were expected to stay home and be housewives. By the time I could, I married Will. Now, Will told me to follow my dream once he learned about it, but we had to get our lives in order and save up in order for me too. But then I learned I was going to be having Annabelle, so my dream ended up on the back burner for now. Meeting you Autobots is the next best thing besides seeing the stars themselves, now that seeing the stars is next to impossible."
Abelia hoped that one day Sarah would see the stars for real and gasped when her vision was flooded with flashes. It was Sarah, smiling wide, inside some massive Cybertronian-looking armor, looking out a large window at the stars. She appeared to be in some sort of ship. Another flash told her it was a Cybertronian ship.
Abelia shook her head as Sarah looked at her, concerned. "What happened? You okay?"
Abelia just gave Sarah a reassuring look, "I'm okay. Just a vision. Well, some flashes."
"Everything okay," Optimus asked, wondering if Abelia saw something unpleasant.
Abelia thought for a moment before smiling, leaning her head against Sarah, and closing her eyes. "No, everything is fine. Don't need to worry about it. And Sarah?"
"Yes?"
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
Sarah laughed, sharing an amused look with Optimus. Sarah wrapped her arms around Abelia as the girl rested against her.
"Yeah. I'll bet."
Unknown
A femme that looked a lot like a Ninja, silver body plate armor fitted around her body, the armor around her head looking like a hood. She had some black armor around her hands, knees, and feet. Purple accents here and there as well as a purple mask. She had yellow-gold optics.
She carried a nunchuck in her hands and shuriken on her back.
The femme was with others looking similar to her. All of them were spread out in a carven. The femme appeared to be standing guard, looking at her people. Some of them laughed and while you couldn't see her mouth, her optics showed she was smiling.
"What a day, right Nightbird," one Ninja Mech asked the femme.
The femme, Nightbird, huffed, "As long as nothing interrupts the ceremony tomorrow, I'll be happy."
"Right. Full-fledged Cyber-Ninja. Worked hard to get it," another Ninja Mech asked.
"Like you wouldn't believe," Nightbird said.
"Well, here's to hoping nothing goes wrong," the first Ninja said, holding up a cube of Energon.
Nightbird scoffed and went to speak when a searing pain had her yelling out and grabbing her head. She hunched over, unable to hear her allies call her name.
Nightbird saw visions of her people getting slaughtered by attackers, and of her being unable to help as they all died and soon saw her own death.
She snapped her head up, grabbed her shuriken, and shouted, "AMBUSH!"
At once, all Ninjas had their weapons out, and not a moment too soon as attackers, other Ninjas, started coming out of nowhere. However, due to Nightbird's warning, the only ones who died were the attackers.
As Nightbird pulled her shuriken out of a body, one Ninja Mech walked up to her.
"Nightbird, what happened? You started screaming and then yelled out 'Ambush!'"
Nightbird paused and knew that everyone was looking at her, wanting to hear her answer. She sighed, knowing there was no other way to escape this.
"I saw us all die. I had a vision."
The Ninja Mech looked at her confused, "Saw us...By the sparks! YOU'RE A SEER!"
Nightbird growled, putting her shuriken on her back and nunchuck in her sub-space. She turned, looking at the first Ninja Mech again.
"What was that about nothing going wrong," Nightbird stated, upset and angry.
"Why is finding out you are a Seer wrong," the Ninja Mech asked her.
"She can't be a Cyber-Ninja. The High Council won't let her graduate. She'll have to give it up after working hard for the title," one Ninja said pitifully.
"Oh," the first Ninja Mech said, now understanding why Nightbird seemed upset.
"Maybe we can hide it? Keep it secret," a Ninja Femme asked, looking around.
Nightbird shook her head, "Thanks for the thought, but the High Council is alerted whenever a new Seer pops up. They could be sending a unit out for me already. Meaning that as far as I know, my future is sealed."
"What if we get the Elder Ninjas to promote you before the unit gets here? You'll be a Cyber-Ninja, even if it's just a short time," the Ninja Femme said.
Nightbird paused, smiling softly under her mask as the other Ninjas agreed with that plan.
"I can work with that," Nightbird said before holding out her hand, palm up with her pinkie digit and thrum digit touching.
"By the Four, to the Allspark, to the Well and Pit. Till All Are One, we shall meet again."
Nightbird bowed her head as all the other Ninjas echoed the phrase back to her, coolant tears escaping from her optics.
Lennox House
Abelia snapped up from her bed. Someone must've carried her to her bed when she fell asleep. Abelia brought a hand up to her head and breathed out in shock.
"What was that," Abelia asked herself in disbelief.
Me: So, this took a while, but I like how this turned out. The title is something to keep in mind because it's important in future chapters.
Abelia sang 'Reflection - Mulan' from Disney and Sarah sang 'The Strength To Light Our Way' by Jennifer Morrison.
Bye and see you at the next one!
