Theblindwriter95 asked about this song from Oliver and Company, so enjoy your request! I thought it would be nice if, following the events of chapter 16 of their collection Healing and Love, when Elena learns that she's pregnant, Elena helps cheer Ricky up when she tells him that she's going to live with Jack in a new place. Ricky's lullaby is based on the song Night Life by The Cars. Thanks to theblindwriter95 for helping with the story. Oliver and Company is not mine.

"Here, Lena, let me help you."

Nineteen-year-old Elena O'Malley smiled as her little, actually fourteen-year-old now, brother Ricky, helped her up to her feet.

"Thank you, Ricky," Elena smiled.

"You're welcome. When I was told by Gabby and Auntie Sabrina that you were here, I couldn't believe it until I saw you in the stables," Ricky smirked. "What are you doing here? Where's Jack?"

"He's back at Mommy's old home getting things ready for us to move into it, and said I could stay here for a while," Elena explained.

"I still can't believe she gave you her childhood home to live in and didn't beg you to stay here in the castle," Ricky sighed.

Elena shrugged. "You know Mommy. She's always making sure I feel comfortable because of my autism."

"Mommy just wants to help you, Lena," Ricky smiled, but it faded a little. "We all do."

"Ricky, you are helping me," Elena smiled. "You go with me whenever I want to go someplace, Mommy and Daddy share their advice with me, Gabby, Auntie Sabrina, and Auntie Madeline help me calm down if I get too stressed, and James and Jack sing to me when I get upset."

Ricky smiled. He remembered walking in on Elena once when she was really upset. He was about to get Bobby Lee to help her, since he always knew to get him or Nell when Elena had a meltdown, but this time James motioned him into the room. He and Jack were singing to Elena to help her calm down, and since Ricky knew one of the songs they were singing, he joined them.

His thoughts were interrupted by a new voice. "Icky!"

Elena and Ricky turned their heads as they saw Sabrina's daughter Isabella toddling towards them.

"Icky?" Elena teased. "And I thought you calling Gabby Bee-Bee when we were little was bad."

"I think it's cute. Besides you should hear what she calls you, it's adorable," Ricky smiled as he took his niece in his arms. "Isa, do your mommy and daddy know where you are?"

Isabella shook her head. "Icky kitty!"

"First, kitties are not icky," Ricky smirked. "Second, do you want me to play with you and your kitty?"

Isabella squealed as she held out her little plush jaquin, Midnight. The plush kitty had been a present from Queen Elena, since it was a tradition for someone in their family to get one of the flying kitties from Avalor when they had their introductory ball. When she was born, she saw Ricky's jaquin Greenie, and he shared him with her until she got a kitty of her own.

"Look at you and your little friend, Isa! I can't wait until the day I get a kitty for my little one!" Elena grinned.

"Have you and Jack decided to use Kitty or Annette when the baby's born yet?" Ricky smirked.

Elena shrugged, recalling the family's tradition of having a kitty to focus on when a woman was in labor. "No, we hadn't decided yet. We don't even know the gender yet."

"Well, I hope for my sake it's a boy," Ricky mock pouted.

"Why do you want a boy?" Elena teased.

"I've been around girls for years! I need guy time!" Ricky struck a melodramatic pose and pretended to fall into a chair.

"That's exactly how James acted before you were born!" Elena giggled.

"Really?" Ricky smirked as he sat up.

Elena smiled as she hugged him. "Oh, yes. I remember it well."

"El kitty?" Isabella asked, holding up Midnight.

"All right, Isa, I'll play with you, then Uncle Ricky and I need to get you back to your mommy before she worries," Elena smiled.

"No! See Elsie!" Isabella pouted.

"Auntie Nell's with Elsie right now, getting her ready for night-night. Don't you want her to have a good night-night?" Ricky asked.

"Night-night Elsie!" Isabella giggled.

"That's right," Ricky smiled. "We know you like playing with Elsie, but she needs to sleep now. Speaking of which..." He scooped Isabella up and danced her around as he sang, "It's time for night-night, baby!"

Elena giggled as she heard Ricky sing a variation of one of the guards' favorite songs. "Did James make that up for you? We all know how good he is with words!"

"No, actually, I made this up," Ricky grinned. "I don't know if James ever heard that one."

"Of course he did! You know he's the castle jukebox, and as the castle jukebox, James knows all kinds of songs!" Elena giggled.

"Dazzle June box!" Isabella squealed.

"See? Even Isa knows him!" Ricky grinned.

Elena rolled her eyes, but she smiled as she nuzzled Midnight against her niece's face, which made Isabella giggle.

"Lena, are you sure you're going to be all right traveling to Elsa's nursery by yourself?" Ricky asked a moment later as he patted her swollen belly.

"Richard Edward Johnson the Second, you're worse than Dad and Jack combined!" Elena teased. She gazed at him sympathetically, seeing his crestfallen expression. "I know you're worried this'll end up being another Clara if I'm not careful, but I'm the same age Mommy was when she was pregnant with you, and you turned out just fine."

"I know," Ricky sighed, "It's just ever since you got engaged to Jack and moved out of the castle to be with him, I've missed you."

Elena smiled sympathetically. "I've missed you too. I've missed everyone here. The only thing I don't miss are the balls Amber would throw out of the blue, though if I'm being honest, Gabby hated them more than I did."

"They were okay," Ricky admitted.

"Yes, but you only thought that way because you were with James by the karaoke machine!" Elena giggled. "And when you two weren't singing, you'd be at the buffet table filling your faces!"

"Well, doing several songs works up an appetite," Ricky smirked. "And at least it gave us a chance to get something to drink or take a break, so we didn't lose our voices." He and his sisters knew the story of how James had lost his voice at Queen Melinda's funeral, and they didn't want that to happen again.

"That's true, so I guess I can excuse you for being a party animal just this once," Elena smirked.

"See Elsie!" Isabella squealed, clapping her hands.

"All right, Isa, we'll see Elsie for a few minutes, then it's time to find your mommy so you can go night-night," Ricky smiled. "That is, if Auntie Elena doesn't mind us tagging along."

"Why would I mind? I hadn't been here since Isa's birthday and could use all the help I can get!" Elena teased, taking Midnight from Isabella's arms and held her close as if she were a baby.

"Kitty!" Isabella squealed.

"That's right, Isa, Midnight's going to play with you and Elsie too," Ricky smiled. "We'll even have a kitty singalong!"

"We always loved those," Elena smiled as she remembered how James would have her, Ricky, and Gabby bring their jaquins to his room and they'd all sing together.

Ricky nodded in agreement, leading her to Elsa's nursery. Elena smiled as she heard Elsa babbling happily, holding her sky blue and white jaquin Snowflake.

"Ellie, look at you! You look like you're carrying two babies, not one!" Nell grinned as she bounced Elsa in her arms. "How are things between you and Jack?"

"They're going well. In fact, you should probably thank him for letting me stay here for a while the next time you see him," Elena smirked. She took one of Elsa's hands and smiled. "And how's our Rainbow doing today? I've missed you so much!"

Elsa squealed, hearing the affectionate nickname. When she was born, Elena had given her the nickname for she and everyone else had been terrified of losing her like they did Clara three years prior.

But the moment she heard her baby sister cry and Nell cry, Elena's fear of losing Elsa had vanished as she'd been the first out of everyone to hold her, being an experience she'd never forget.

"She's doing really well," Ricky smiled. "She likes it when I fly Zoomer and Greenie around with Snowflake, and I've been singing to her too."

"Ricky, you know that James was the one who was singing when he was born!" Elena giggled.

"And Elsa will sing in her own time," Ricky smiled as he remembered what Nell, Bobby Lee, and even Roland said to him.

"She just needs to take it one day at a time," Elena finished one of the family's most well-known sayings.

"Speaking of taking things one day at a time, Gabby put Elsa's rocking chair beside her crib so you can rock her to sleep, Elena," Nell smiled.

"Me?" Elena looked worried. "I...I don't know if that's such a good idea."

"We all agreed that you needed the practice of getting a baby to sleep before yours is born. Right, Ricky?" Nell smiled over at him.

"Right,Mommy," Ricky smiled. "And Elsa's missed her big sister's singing, so Lena gets to pick tonight's kitty song!"

"What about that one kitty song you used to sing to Snow White?" Nell suggested.

"Well, it wasn't exactly a kitty-kitty song, but I remember hearing you or Gabby sing it whenever I got upset," Elena started.

"Which one was that?" Ricky asked.

"I think it was this one," Elena smiled. She started rocking Elsa as she sang softly.

You and me together we'll be
Forever you'll see
We two can be good company
You and me
Yes, together we two

"It was," Nell smiled. "I hadn't heard this song in so long."

"El sing!" Isabella squealed.

"And she sings so well!" Ricky grinned.

He couldn't help but join her, Together, that's you
Forever with me

Elena smiled as she remembered how Gabby would sing this to her when they were younger. She didn't remember how the song came to be, but the melody was easy enough for them to sing. From the first time they sang it following her first meltdown, the song had always been the one to calm her when she was upset. Then later when Ricky was born, it was sometimes used as a lullaby for him. They even sang it a few times to comfort themselves following Clara's death.

She smiled as she joined Ricky, We'll always be good company
You and me
Yes, together we'll be

Her smile widened as she heard Elsa squeal, feeling her snuggle against her chest.

"The other night, while we were out thinking of names for the baby, Jack and I came across his mother," Elena muttered. "Neither of us have seen her in fourteen years, so we were surprised to learn she mellowed out sometime after her divorce from Jack's father."

"Did she say anything mean to either of you?" Ricky frowned.

"Surprisingly no. She congratulated me on my pregnancy and said she'd be coming to our wedding. Before she left, she asked Jack and I to name our daughter, if we have one, Juliette after her and we told her we'd consider using it as a middle name, as I have something else in mind in terms of a first name if we end up having a girl."

"What is it?" Nell asked.

"Clara in honor of a certain someone who's no longer here with us. That is, if Mommy's okay with it," Elena explained. She turned away, seeing tears flow down Nell's cheeks. "Mommy, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories. I can pick something else if you like."

"No, Ellie, I think that's a wonderful idea," Nell smiled. "That's such a sweet gesture, and it's a good way to keep Clara alive in our hearts."

"Clara Juliette," Elena murmured as she recited the full name. "I like that!"

"So do I," Nell agreed.

"And as a nickname, we can call her CJ," Ricky added.

"See Jay!" Isabella squealed.

"Who's Jay?" Sabrina smiled, coming into the room. "I heard singing from across the hall and wanted to see what was going on."

"Lena's singing her calming song to Elsa to help her get to sleep," Ricky explained. He took Isabella in his arms as she reached for Sabrina. "Isa and I were going to find you, but we got distracted by Lena's singing."

"And as for who you were talking about, Sabrina, there's nobody named Jay here," Nell added. "We were just talking about what to name Elena's daughter, if she has one. What do you think of the name Clara Juliette?"

Sabrina smiled. "I think that's a beautiful name, Nell. It's a great way to honor Clara, but what if Elena's having a boy?"

"Jack and I hadn't decided yet," Elena admitted. "But since Mommy thinks I'm carrying twins, it could be a boy and a girl just like James and Amber."

"And if the baby is a boy, I'll train him to be a guard the moment he learns how to walk!" Ricky grinned.

"One step at a time, Ricky," Sabrina giggled.

"That's right," Nell smiled. "But Elena, if you are having a boy as well as a girl, we'll have to think of a name for him."

"Didn't Auntie Sabrina say once that if she was having a boy, it would be Francisco or Gabriel?" Ricky suggested.

"That's right," Sabrina nodded. "Queen Elena's grandfather passed away, and we thought if I was having a boy, we could name him in honor of him."

"I'll keep Francisco in mind but will have to discuss it with Jack first," Elena smiled.

Elsa yawned as she snuggled against her chest, putting one of Snowflake's paws in her mouth.

"Looks like somebody missed her big sister," Gabby cooed.

"Gabby!" Ricky smiled. "How was your outing with Isaac?"

"Isaac?" Elena asked.

"Oh that's right. You haven't met him yet," Gabby smiled. "I met him three weeks ago while taking Elsa out for a sisters' day and we immediately hit it off."

"Good for you, but be sure to bring him home so I can be sure he'll be good to you," Ricky looked up from where he was helping to tuck Elsa into her crib.

"Stop acting like Daddy, Ricky," Gabby pouted. "Isaac's really nice. He understands about my leg, and he knows to take it easy when we take walks."

"Does he know about my autism?" Elena frowned.

Gabby nodded. "Yes and Isaac's very supportive of you. If you don't mind me doing so, I invited him to your wedding as my guest of honor."

Elena smiled. "Of course I don't mind! Gabby, you helped Jack and me when we started courting and I always wanted to return the favor."

"I'm happy to hear it," Gabby smiled. She smirked, seeing Ricky tuck in Elsa. "I can't imagine how Ricky will be when Elsa finds a someone of her own one day!"

"I'm happy right now being a junior guard," Ricky smirked. "I'm also happy since I made friends with that one kitty in the stables." Since his kitty Stripe had recently died, Ricky had been hanging around the stables with the cats. He had gotten a surprise when one of the cats, a brown tabby cat with one eye, started watching him. They had gotten to know each other, and the guards and Ricky had dubbed him 'Bob'. Bobby Lee was touched to have a namesake, and was even more surprised when Bob would walk with him and Ricky when they went up to the castle after patrols. Nell had gotten to know Bob as well, and they had adopted him into the family.

"Kitty," Isabella yawned as Sabrina took her in her arms.

"Don't worry, Isa. You can play with Bob and all the other kitties in the stables tomorrow," Elena smiled.

"You sure it's not you who wants to play with the kitties, Ellie?" Nell teased.

"Maybe, but how do we know if we're talking about Bob or Daddy we play with your kitty, Ricky?" Elena asked.

"The guards and I usually call Bob 'buddy' when Daddy's with us to avoid confusion," Ricky explained. He looked over at Elena and grinned. "And remember how you used to call Queen Elena 'me' when you were little? Daddy started doing that with Bob! He's always saying, 'Come on, me! Let's go patrol the castle!"

"That's a good idea," Gabby smiled as Elena pouted playfully at the memory.

"Speaking of kitties, Isa's already dreaming of them," Sabrina smiled.

"She had so much fun seeing Elsa, she fell asleep!" Elena giggled.

"You did the same thing when Ricky was Elsa's age," Nell recalled. "Wherever he went, you had to go there too."

"That's because I had to protect him from anyone mean. Right Gabby?" Elena smiled innocently.

"Believes me, Elena, I remember it well," Gabby smirked. "You wouldn't even let Jack near him the first time he saw Ricky."

"That's right," Ricky smirked. "You wanted to keep Jack's bad influence from rubbing off on me."

"But thankfully, you never learned anything bad from him," Elena nodded. "Mommy and Daddy started teaching you about my autism right away, so you'd know what was going on if you saw me acting the way I did."

"We taught Jack about your autism too, when you started to trust him," Nell smiled. "But it wasn't until your third-grade duet that you started to fully trust him."

"I remember that. Ricky felt so bad about her spraining her ankle because of him the day before Elena was supposed to sing her part as the character Ro for the duet that he asked Cedric to do a walking spell," Sabrina smiled.

"The only thing I remember from that night is Jack kissing my cheek the moment the song ended," Elena blushed as she got up from the rocking chair and stretched her arms.

"Just like when I got my first kiss when I was a child," Sabrina smiled. "That boy Andy played with me when Madeline was sick, then he kissed my hand when it was time to go home. I held my hand out all the way home and told Nell, Mommy, and Daddy that I felt just like a princess!"

"Just like Elena did!" Nell smiled.

Elena blushed, turning crimson as Gabby steadied her.

"I remember when Mommy was pregnant with Ricky and you used to look after her to make sure she was all right," Gabby smiled. "Do you mind if I do the same?"

"Between you and Ricky, how can I say no?" Elena smiled.

"Easy. Daddy always said it whenever I wanted to check on Mommy overnight while she was pregnant with Elsie," Ricky smirked. "We just don't want anything bad to happen to you."

"And nothing will," Elena promised. "I've got so many people watching over me right now, so I doubt you'll let anything happen to me!"

"Now you know how I felt when I was pregnant with you and Gabby," Nell joked. "Daddy wouldn't give me a minute's peace, he was always there getting things for me, even though I could get them myself..."

"Has Jack starting doing that yet?" Gabby teased.

"Not that I know of," Elena yawned.

"Is that a tired Elena I hear?" Sabrina cooed.

"I'm sorry, Auntie Sabrina. It's been a long day and I've been feeling extra fatigued lately," Elena yawned again.

Sabrina smiled sympathetically. "Nell and I went through the same thing, so it's to be expected. If you like, I'll lead you to your old bedroom."

"Is Pinky still there?" Elena asked. "I forgot to take her with me when I moved out."

"She's still there," Sabrina assured her. "Nell said she'd talk to Mr. Cedric about making clones of Kitty and Pinky, so you can have them both here, and at my childhood home, so no matter what, you'll always have your favorite kitties with you."

Elena smiled. She hadn't done very well the first night away from Kitty and Pinky. In fact, Jack had to give her Annette to help her when she started crying. He knew how she felt, being away from her parents. He'd acted the same way during his first sleepover when they were in third grade. He'd come to school the next morning still a little red in the face, which was still a little tear stained, but the teacher gave him all the time he needed to calm down. Elena had even offered to let him hold Pinky, whom she'd brought with her, since this was the day they were going to give speeches, and she wanted something to focus on in case she got nervous. Jack had been grateful for her help and had apologized for how he'd acted when they were younger. Elena had accepted the apology, since she knew that Juliette had encouraged his behavior, while his aunt and father had tried to teach him otherwise.

"Thank you, Mommy. Thank you, Auntie Sabrina," Elena yawned.

"Do we have to sing you to sleep like we did Elsie, Lena?" Ricky teased.

He hugged her as he sang to her, You and me together we'll be
Forever, you'll see
We'll always be good company
You and me
Just wait and see

"Even though that song was wonderful, Ricky, be nice," Nell smirked. "Your sister has to readjust being in the castle again while Jack's getting mine and your aunties' old house ready for themselves and the baby."

Ricky looked up in surprise. "You mean they won't be living here with us? But Auntie Sabrina didn't move out when she was pregnant with Isa."

"Elena wanted to move to our old house because she kept getting overwhelmed with the different noises," Nell remembered. "During a recent party, Daddy and I had to lead Elena to our room and keep the door closed, since the music got too loud, and a few people got a little too rowdy."

"I remember that," Ricky murmured. He had tried to break up the crowd, but he'd been knocked down. He had to call for Bobby Lee and some of the other guards to help him.

"From what Mommy told me, that wasn't bad for your first time doing guard duty at a royal event," Elena smiled. "You just ended up with a few cuts and bruises from where you fell. And it's not anyone's fault that happened."

"No it wasn't, and rest assured, Ellie, we'll all look after you during your time of need," Nell smiled. She led Elena out of the nursery with Gabby assisting her. "Now it's time for bed. You had a long day and need your sleep."

"Does she have to?" Ricky pouted.

"Yes, Ricky. Even expecting mommies need their sleep," Gabby smirked.

"Okay, but I'll be checking on her until somebody here tells me to stop," Ricky said at last.

All of them chuckled softly, leaving the room to not disturb Elsa from her slumber as Elena touched her growing stomach before feeling Nell squeeze her hand.

"Elena Lydia O'Malley, you'll do just fine. You've overcome so many things in your lifetime that this'll be another challenge you'll conquer with stride," she assured.

"How do you know?" Elena wondered.

"Because I'm your mother and mothers know everything," Nell smirked.

"Miranda says that all the time," Elena smiled.

"Where do you think I learned that?" Nell chuckled.

Elena giggled before she gasped, seeing her bedroom exactly as she left it when she first moved out of the castle.

"Mommy! You're back!" She heard Gabby make Kitty say as the jaquin was nuzzled against her.

"We've missed you!" Ricky made Pinky say, altering his voice a little.

"I've missed you too. It's so good to see your little faces again," Elena smiled.

"Now that you've been reunited with your kitties, Elena, it's time for you to get some sleep," Sabrina murmured.

"We'll see you in the morning. We love you, Love Bug," Nell smiled, kissing her cheek.

Elena yawned, unable to respond as she gathered both Kitty and Pinky in her arms before climbing into her bed and drifted off to sleep.

"I'll be right outside if Elena needs me for anything," Ricky promised.

"No, you need to get some sleep too," Nell smiled. "Everything's going to be all right, Ricky. You don't have to stay with Elena every moment. Just keep your door open so you can hear her if she needs something. We know how good you are, but even junior guards need to take a night off and rest."

"Okay, Mommy," Ricky agreed at last.

Nell kissed Elena's forehead affectionately and tucked her in like she used to when she was younger before leading herself and Ricky out of the room.

Her oldest coming back home was unexpected but for the time being until the day came for Elena to move back in with Jack so they could prepare for their baby's arrival, Nell wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.
