Standing Up For Love

Morning had risen on another beautiful day in Harmonious Land.

Over at the condo, Laguna and McJagger were both asleep together in bed, resting happily together. Both Trolls were facing each other, despite being asleep, and even with the water barrier separating both areas of their bedroom, they could sense that they were both facing each other.

McJagger was the first to wake up, sitting upright with a yawn escaping his mouth. to say he was fully awake was not true, because he did feel a little tired still. Then again, anyone would if you had to do two consecutive car washes on a limo ship yesterday, and partying hard after celebrating Aggie's participation in the rodeo and receiving a lasso as a family heirloom from her grandpa three days ago.

As for Laguna, she was sleeping a little longer. Then again, anyone would if you spent an entire day bonding with the Magic Techno Trolls and learning about their lifestyle and customs two days ago, and working a double shift four days ago after what the Normal Trolls have to come to terms with calling "The Auto-Tune Effect" with Trollex's little "venting" moment in regards to his new developing friendship with Barb after the two had finally settled their differences.

So, yes, the two were tired and exhausted, and sleeping in was their way of gathering the energy that was zapped out of them.

McJagger stretched his front legs before he looked over at his sleeping girlfriend and smiled, thinking she looked beautiful, even when asleep. The red Funk Troll kept watching her sleep for a little while, not realizing he was slowly leaning backwards. However, once he did realize it, it was too late, and he ended up falling out of the bed and landed on the floor back-first with a small yelp.

The "crash" alerted Laguna to wake up and sit up in her bed to see what, or who fell, as she looked over on McJagger's side of the bed and saw he had fallen, making her immediately leap out of bed and rush over to him, asking, "McJagger! Are you ok"?

McJagger got back up onto his feet, shaking off any dust that may have gotten onto his back when he fell, while saying, "Yeah, I'm ok, boo. Takes more than a fall like that to keep me down. I'm tough as steel," and flexed his front right paw, making a muscle, for fun.

Laguna felt her cheeks blush red as she broke into a giggle in response to McJagger's statement.

McJagger smiled at seeing his girlfriend smile as he gently wrapped his paw around her, bringing her into a hug, while saying, "But, these "Steel" muscles are still gentle enough for me to give you a loving hug with."

Laguna wrapped her arms around his neck, saying, "Aren't you quite the charmer today," and the two shared a romantic kiss together, with McJagger using his other front paw to cup her cheek.

They stayed in their kiss for a while before the two Trolls separated, but didn't break out of the hug. Laguna looked up at her boyfriend with a huge smile on her face as she closed her eyes and gently rested her head on his chest.

McJagger looked down at his girlfriend and smiled, blushing as he hugged her close to him. He noticed her heart changing color from teal green to purple again, as he could see that she was feeling happy to be by his side.

In their little hug, Laguna opened her eyes and commented, "You know, it's funny in a way. I...never thought I'd ever find love."

McJagger replied, "I know what you mean; the power of love can be very surprising, striking when we least expect it. But you know? I'm happy it did strike with us, and that it brought us together."

Laguna looked up at McJagger and replied, "Yeah. Note: if I'm being honest, before I first met you, I...was scared to fall in love. I was worried a lot about...ending up in a situation where...I would've gotten hurt like...how my father had hurt me before."

McJagger understood what Laguna had meant; he knew very well about the circumstances that she's gone through, especially with her prolonging battle with PTSD as a result of what had happened in the past. Offering her a reassuring smile, McJagger commented, "I know what you mean, boo. From what you went through, feeling like it's hard to trust someone enough that you'd feel like you can fall in love with them would feel like a challenge. But, like the brave spirit you are, you decided to take a chance, and I'm really grateful that you chose me to take that chance with, because, you're really special, Laguna. You're smart, funny, quirky, and really sweet and humble. You've done things that very few Trolls would ever choose to do; you've broken historic boundaries and discovered the Lost Game Room, you found your mom and have taken the chance to rebuild a connection with her, you've become quite social with other Trolls. You've really grown since first coming Trollstopia, and that definitely takes a great deal of bravery to do all that."

Laguna blushed in response, saying while shuffling her fins, "Note: I'm not that brave. The only reason I was able to do a lot of these things was because of the support of my friends. It was their support that convinced me to go to the Lost Game Room, it was their support that helped me be able to find my mom and be able to allow myself to let her into my life and rebuild a mother/daughter bond together, and it's their support that's helping me to be able to slowly move on from the trauma of my past. And it's their support that also helped give me the courage to go up to you and talk to you that day we met. I don't think I would've been able to do it willingly without them."

Laguna then added, "And I'm really grateful for that, because with their help, I was able to meet the best Funk Troll, and the best boyfriend, I could ever ask for," while placing her hand on McJagger's cheek.

McJagger smiled as the two shared another kiss together.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Love Again by Dua Lipa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suddenly, while they were kissing, Laguna's fins twitched, as she had picked up a sound nearby, making her turn her head and ask, "What's that sound"?
McJagger tried to listen close and heard the sound of violins playing, making him peek his head out the window of their bedroom. Outside, by the front of the condo, Trollzart was waving his baton while Dante was playing his violin, and Minuet was doing her dual violin and cello playing.
Seeing this, McJagger replied, "Hey, check it out. The Classical Trolls are doing some viola practice outside."
Laguna looked out the window to see and saw the little practice session outside, saying, "Note: that music is really beautiful."
McJagger then commented, "Not as beautiful as the purple Techno angel in front of me."
Laguna blushed in response with a sheepish smile, feeling her cheeks heat up again while commenting, "How do you always get me feeling like this"?
Suddenly, the Classical music that was playing outside gave Laguna an idea, as she pulled out a record from her hair and walked over to a nearby record player, and placed the record on it, which started to play the song that was on the record, in accordance to the music outside. McJagger watched, wondering what Laguna was gonna do. As the music started to sound funky, Laguna turned, smiling at McJagger, and began to sing while dancing in front of him.
Laguna: I never thought that I would smile and feel proud. I never thought I'd hear my heart beat so loud.
*Her heart lit up and thumped twice in response*
I can't believe I feel all warm in my chest, that's for sure. But, oh my, you got me in love again!
McJagger, feeling his cheeks flush pink, blushed as he then joined Laguna and danced with her, the two sidestepping to the beat and spinning around one another as Laguna continued to sing.
Laguna: Never before, did my heart feel oh so prone. I used to spend so many nights on my own.
I didn't think I had it in me to fall in love before. But, oh my, you got me in love again!
Laguna and McJagger then held hands/paws and they both did a mini salsa together.
Laguna: Show me that we're safe right here, baby! Tell me, so I know I'm not crazy!
Never have I ever met somebody like you. Used to be afraid of love and what it might do. But, oh my, you got me in love again!
The pair continued to dance together, as McJagger spun Laguna around and lifted her up, spinning her, before he placed her back on the ground, where she pulled him close and they both swayed their hips to the beat of the song.
Laguna: You got me in love again! You got me in love again! You got me in love again! Again!
Then, they both stepped back and gave each other a little space, which allowed Laguna to dance in front of her boyfriend again.
Laguna: So many nights, my tears fell harder than rain. Scared I would take my worried heart to the grave.
I'd rather die than let my dad hurt me like before. But, oh my, you got me in love again!
Then, both Trolls joined back up together again and salsaed once more.
Laguna: Show me that we're safe right here, baby! Tell me, so I know I'm not crazy!
Never have I ever met somebody like you. Used to be afraid of love and what it might do. But, oh my, you got me in love again!
You got me in love again! You got me in love again! You got me in love again! Again!
Then, McJagger pulled out a remote that made it shoot lights out and around the room, making it look like it was being lit by a disco ball, as the two continued to dance together, looking into each other's eyes, feeling the love between them, as their hearts beat in perfect synchronicity. All while McJagger listens in awe to his girlfriend's singing.
Laguna: I can't believe, I can't believe, I finally found someone! I'll sink my teeth in disbelief 'cause you're the one that I want! I can't believe, I can't believe, I'm not afraid anymore! Oh my, you got me in love again!
Then, she and McJagger both stepped in time in a circle pattern, not once looking away from each other, as he soon joined in on the singing with her.
McJagger: La-la-la, la-la-la. La-la-la, la-la-la.
Laguna: (McJagger: La-la-la, la-la-la. La-la-la, la-la-la.) I never thought that I would smile and feel proud. (McJagger: La-la-la, la-la-la. La-la-la, la-la-la.) I never thought I'd hear my heart beat so loud. (McJagger: La-la-la, la-la-la. La-la-la, la-la-la.) I can't believe I feel all warm in my chest, that's for sure. (McJagger: La-la-la.) But, oh my!
Both: You got me in love again!
Then, they both began to salsa dance together again in beautiful harmony.
McJagger: We're in love!
Laguna: We're in love!
Both: We're in love! We're in love! Oh, oh!
Laguna: I can't believe, I can't believe, I finally found someone! I'll sink my teeth in disbelief 'cause you're the one that I want! I can't believe, I can't believe, I'm not afraid anymore! But, oh my, (McJagger: You got me in love again!) you got me in love again!
Laguna: (McJagger: You got me in love again!) You got me in love again! (McJagger: You got me in love again!) You got me in love again! You got me in love (McJagger: Again and again!) again! (McJagger: And again and again and again!) Again!
After the song on the record came to an end, the Classical music that was playing outside still continued for a little while, until it too, came to a stop, and Laguna's heart changed back to its original color.
The two were locked in a warm embrace, looking into one another's eyes in a love trance, not wanting it to stop.
"Oh, and before I forget," McJagger said, looking at Laguna while putting his front paws behind his back for a moment, pulling out a bouquet of colorful flowers and a red heart-shaped box full of chocolates, and exclaiming, "Happy anniversary"!
Laguna gasped in surprise, saying, "Awww, you remembered"?
"How can I ever forget the day I instantly fell in love with the love of my life," McJagger responded with a chuckle, sharing another romantic kiss together with his girlfriend.
Laguna accepted the gifts, saying, "You're such a sweetheart."
"But I thought I was a Funk Troll," McJagger answered jokingly, making both Trolls laugh together.
"Shall we, m'lady," McJagger asked while bowing at his girlfriend, offering a hand out to her.
"You're such a charmer," Laguna commented, accepting his paw, as the two walked out of the bedroom together and to the elevator.
Downstairs, everyone else was awake and at the dining room table, eating breakfast, and they were greeted to the sight of seeing McJagger and Laguna arrive, coming out of the elevator that brought them down from the floor their room was.
"Well, well; you two definitely seem to be in a happy mood this morning," Dante commented, seeing McJagger and Laguna walking into the dining room and sitting down at the table, as he flew over to them and gave them both two mugs, each filled with coffee.
Laguna took a sip of her coffee, saying while blushing, "Yeah, I can't help but feel so excited," adding a shy giggle at the end, looking up at McJagger, who leaned forward and nuzzled noses cutely with Laguna.
"Well, you better stay excited, boo," McJagger said while pointing finger guns at Laguna, adding, "Because guess where I'm taking you tonight"!
Aggie and Trollex were walking into the dining room together, hand-in-hand, with Aggie saying, "Good morning, everyone"!
"Hey, yo! What's happening, guys," Trollex added.
"Nothin' much. We were just about ta hear what McJagger had planned tonaheet," Holly replied.
"Don't finish that sentence, McJagger, because I'm one step ahead of you. We're all heading out to Jollybee's to eat. My treat, after the latest bonus I got from my excellent performance at the radio station," Trollex stated.
McJagger then pointed out, "Actually, your Techno majesty, today's me and Laguna's one-month dating anniversary."
"It's your monthsary today?! Congratulations," Aggie replied happily.
"What's a monthsary," Riff asked while picking some eggs up with his fork.
"It's like an anniversary, but it happens every month, the name practically tells it as it is," Aggie replied.
"Yeah, and so, to celebrate, I'm taking Laguna...to Manny's in Funk Bar," McJagger announced, the announcement surprising Laguna.
Laguna instantly felt her eyes light up in awe, saying excitedly, "Manny's?! No way! That place is always booked up! How did you even get reservations"?!
McJagger smiled shyly as he blushed, saying, "Yeah, well, when I came across this place when we fist arrived, I...had been planning for us to have a night out there for a while now. I had to call in a few favors, but it was enough to get us a spot for tonight."
"McJagger," Laguna exclaimed in awe, feeling so touched by the generous deed McJagger did as she lunged at her boyfriend, tackled him to the floor, much to his surprise, and showered him with kisses.
Sid couldn't help but feel a bit awkward, watching Laguna repeatedly kiss her boyfriend, saying while cringing a bit in discomfort, "Ugh, can you two not"?
After a while, Laguna sat back up, where McJagger was seen with a dizzy/lovestruck look in his eyes, hearts replacing his pupils, and his face was covered in many kisses.
"Manny's? What's Manny's," Synth asked.
"Manny's this really fancy club down in Funk Bar. A lot of Magic Musical Trolls like to go there, and they eat and watch a show and,that's pretty much it," Aggie answered, adding, "I haven't been there myself, but it's what I've heard from others who had said they've gone there."
McJagger was soon brought back up onto his feet and sitting again in his chair, still feeling a bit love-dazed, before he said, "I'm sorry, Trollex. Maybe another time."
"No worries, man. It's your anniversary; you and Laguna go have fun tonight, you deserve it," Trollex answered happily.
"Thank you very much, your Majesty," Laguna happily replied while she rested her head on McJagger's shoulder while McJagger carefully wrapped his left front leg around her.
Suddenly, McJagger felt his phone vibrate and pulled it out to look at it, seeing his alarm was going off. He got up, saying, "Well, I have to go get ready to head to work. "
Branch saw his alarm go off too, saying while turning it off, "Oh yeah, let's get our things, get our uniform on, and head out," as he got up and walked towards the elevator.
McJagger got up from his seat, but faced Laguna and mentioned to her, "But I will be back in time so we can get ready for our night out, boo."
Laguna giggled, saying, "Note: I'll be anticipating your return the minute I return from work."
McJagger blushed and kissed Laguna on the cheek before he went to the elevator, joining Branch inside as both boys went up to their rooms to get their uniforms.
Laguna watched her boyfriend head upstairs with an in-awe dazed look on her face, sighing in contentment.
Aggie suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder and saw Trollex usher her to come to talk with him for a second. Curious to know what her boyfriend had on his mind, she followed him while asking, "What's up, Trollex? Everything ok"?
Trollex replied, "Well...I'm very happy that Laguna and McJagger are getting to celebrate their dating anniversary today. Though, I can't help but feel like I want to ask this...when do you think we'll be able to go on a date here in Harmonious Land"?
On the one hand, Aggie wanted to instantly say, "Heck yes, we should definitely go on a date together here"! After all, she loved Trollex to infinity and beyond, and even beyond that! And ever since her friends chose to stay with her for the month, she's wanted to find the perfect opportunity so she and Trollex could get to have a special romantic date.
On the other hand, underneath her underlying excitement and wish to get to have a fun date night with Trollex in her homeland, she also felt...nervous. Aside from her parents, none of the Magic Musical Trolls knew that she and the Normal Techno king were dating. And if they ever did find out...she was scared of how they were gonna react. She was worried what the other MMTs would think of her, think of Trollex if they discovered they were romantically together, especially because, as far as she knew it, there had never been a couple where a Magic Musical Troll was dating a Normal Troll before. To the other MMTs, as far as she knew it, the idea of a couple like that sounded like a fathom of an idea, one that, to them, probably sounded weird and strange.
With that in mind, Aggie answered her boyfriend, saying, "Trust me, Trollex; if it were up to me alone, I would love nothing more than to take you out on a date here because there are so many fun things that you and I can do together! All I want to do is be able to walk outside with you hand-in-hand, get to share a milkshake together like in those romantic comedy movies, and kiss you out in public. I want all of that"!
"I do too," Trollex replied, smiling, adding, "Especially with you, my sweet Aggie," while caressing Aggie's cheek, making the MMT blush happily.
Aggie then frowned a bit as she stated, "The only thing though is...I'm just scared about what the other MMTs would say...if they ever found out about us. What my family and relatives would say if they found out about us? What the entire community would say if they found out about us? It was already bad enough when the other MMTs were thinking I was weird because I have all the True Colors and all the magic, but imagine how much worse it might be if they discovered you and I are dating one another."
Trollex brought Aggie close to him, hugging her while he said, "I know, and I feel all those same fears exactly like you do. But...if there's one thing I know, it's that I don't care what happens. Because to me, as long as I have you, my talented, beautiful, sweet girlfriend, right here alongside me, then nothing else really matters. I'd do anything for you; I'd even break the law if it meant we'd still get to be together, through good times and bad, through rain or shine, through Trollstopia, or even here in secret in Harmonious Land."
Aggie giggled, saying, "Sounds like you're saying a marriage vow."
"Well, maybe I can reuse it for the day you and I tie the knot," Trollex commented flirtatiously, making Aggie blush and giggle, especially when she felt Trollex tickle her stomach.
"Hahaha! Trollex, you cheeky Troll," the MMT cried out before she pulled Trolex up to her, the two locking lips happily.
Over at the fire station, McJagger was whistling a happy tune while he restocked his medical bag with supplies.
"Wow, you're definitely in a great mood, McJagger," Branch commented while putting the fire extinguishers in their proper place.
"Oh, you bet I am, Branch! I got a hot date with my boo tonight in honor of our anniversary; how can one not be excited," McJagger replied with a chuckle.
"Well, well, aren't we chipper this morning," a voice commented, revealing to be Captain Folly Bash, who entered the room with Chade, Demy, and Mack.
McJagger and Branch saw the fire captain and stood in position, saluting him while saying together, "Sir"!
"At ease, boys. Remember, this is a fire station, not a military camp," Folly replied, chuckling at his joke.
McJagger chuckled, saying, "Either way, yes, I happen to be very chipper, Captain. Today's my one-month dating anniversary with my girlfriend, and we're going out to Manny's tonight to celebrate."
"Ooh! Congrats, man," Demy replied.
"Wow, you must feel like one lucky Funk Troll," Chade mentioned.
"I assume you'll be paying for the meal," Mack asked jokingly.
McJagger grinned, saying, "I am treating my boo tonight like the princess she is! The finest food, fruit punch, and a special surprise I have been working on in secret for tonight."
"Going all out? Aren't you quite the romance expert," Chade commented?
"Well, I'm no expert, but when it comes to my girlfriend, I always want to make Laguna feel like she's on Cloud Nine," McJagger happily stated.
Suddenly, Mack raised his eyebrow in confusion, saying, "Wait, her name's Laguna? Sounds like an odd name for a Funk Troll."
Branch suddenly piped in, saying, "Oh, that's because Laguna's not a Funk Troll; she's a Techno Troll."
Chade, Mack, and Demy suddenly had surprised/confused facial reactions as Demy asked, "Timeout: You're dating a...Techno Troll"?
McJagger smiled and nodded, saying, "Yep! The smartest, cutest, and prettiest Techno Troll I've ever met! See," before pulling out his phone and showing a picture he had on his lock screen of him and Laguna both blushing while reading a book together at the Akclan Library.
Captain Folly looked at the picture, saying with a grin, "Wow, you've definitely got yourself quite the girl, McJ. You both look pretty happy together."
Then, Chade chimed in with, "Happy" wouldn't be the word I'd use."
"Huh," Branch commented in confusion, asking, "What do you mean"?
"I bet he probably had another adjective in mind," McJagger stated before asking Chade, "Which one were you thinking of? Cute? Funny? Intellectually adorable"?
"I think the adjective I would use is...weird," Chade answered.
That answer now confused the Normal Funk Troll, making him ask, "Weird? How so"?
"Uh, isn't it obvious," Chade replied, explaining, "You're a Normal Funk Troll dating a Normal Techno Troll, a Troll who is of a completely different genre and species from you. That screams "Weird" without even needing to say it."
McJagger then replied, "What's wrong with me dating her? Sure, she might be a different type of Troll, but I love her for who she is as a person. After all, the language of love is universal, and we're free to love whomever we want, no matter who or what they are. Don't you guys, as Magic Musical Trolls, date other MMTs of different music genres"?
"Well yeah, we do," Demy answered, "But that's because we're the same division of Trolls and in the same tribe. Meanwhile, you and that Laguna girl are in the same division but different tribes."
"And how does that exactly affect us getting to be together," McJagger asked while raising his eyebrow.
"Let's go over the facts between you two," Mack commented, listing down, "You're a Normal Funk Troll. You are quadruped with four legs and feet with toes, no arms, hands, fingers, or thumbs, a long neck, little floppy ears, and both hair on your head, and you're covered in fur. Comparing that to your "girlfriend" Laguna: she's a Normal Techno Troll with no feet at all, with her tail fins acting as her feet, she has arms, hands with fingers and thumbs, a heart that is visible through her chest, gill-like ears, and the only source of hair she has is on her head. Plus, not to mention you live on land or in your spaceship, in your case, and breathe oxygen, while Laguna lives underwater and can breathe underwater, something you can't do."
"Ok, so, you're listing the differences between me and Laguna; what does that have to do with our love life," McJagger asked.
"What we're getting at is that you both are way different from each other! Too different to be in a relationship," Demy answered.
"Just imagine what it'd be like if they started to...you know.." Chade pointed out.
McJagger's face flushed pink as a result, as Branch then stepped in, saying, "Guys, knock it off. McJagger's free to love whoever he wants and data whomever he chooses, and if he wants to date Laguna, he is more than happy to do so. No one says that he can't; it's his love life, after all."
"Branch is right, guys, so lay off him a bit," Captain Folly mentioned, adding, "Love has no limits, so any Troll is free to date any Troll they want. I mean, the only exception would be seeing Magic Musical Trolls and Normal Trolls dating together, but what are the odds of that happening? And in any case, the point is, he has every right to fall in love with whichever Troll he has his heart set on."
"That may be, but it doesn't make it any less weird to see him together with that Techno girl," Mack stated.
McJagger couldn't help but stay silent as he didn't know how to react or comment in response to this. On the one hand, he wanted to speak up for himself and say that it didn't matter if they thought his relationship with Laguna was weird because he loved her through and through. But on the other hand, there was part of him that was worried that what they were telling him...was true. And if it was true...did everyone else think the same way?
Little did the Funk Troll know that he wasn't the only one facing some criticism in regard to his romance.
Laguna was currently stapling some papers together and dropped the stack off by her boss's office before heading back to her office cubicle.
On the way there, she ran into Katy, who commented, "Hey, Laguna. You seem happy today."
"As a matter of fact, i am, Katy," Laguna happily replied, saying, "My boyfriend and I have a special night out planned tonight in honor of our monthsary."
"Oooooooh! Sounds so adorable! You are so lucky to be getting to celebrate your monthsary here together," Katy replied excitedly.
Laguna chuckled with a blush, saying, "I'm just happy to get to be sharing this special moment with McJagger; he's probably the best Funk Troll I've ever met."
Suddenly, Katy seemed to laugh, saying, "Hahaha, good one"!
Laguna was a little confused, asking, "Uh...what was a good one"?
"That little joke you made about your boyfriend being the best Funk Troll you've ever met, that's what," Katy replied, adding, "Clever joke. So, tell me what kind of Troll your boyfriend really is."
Laguna then answered, "Uh, I wasn't joking; my boyfriend truly is a Funk Troll. i even have a picture if you want to see what he looks like," before pulling out a photo of her and McJagger together.
Katy saw the photo and gasped in surprise, saying, "Woah, no lie"?
Laguna nodded, saying, "Yep. Isn't he a dreamboat? I feel so lucky to be dating him."
Katy looked weirded out as she answered, "Well, you seem happy, but...you do know he's...not a Techno Troll like you, right"?
"Well, we may be two different species of Trolls, but he's just a kind and caring gentleman who's smart, funny, and looks handsome in uniform," Laguna commented, adding the last part while shyly blushing.
"I-I can tell, but I mean...you are aware...that you both are...different...right," Katy asked.
Laguna raised an eyebrow while replying, "Yes, I am aware. But what does this have to do with us dating together"?
Katy took a deep breath in before saying, "Well...how should I put this-,"
"They look so weird together, that's what," a female Magic Rock Troll shouted from inside her cubicle.
"Karla," Katy shouted, scolding the female Magic Rock Troll when she saw how Karla's comment seemed to make Laguan a bit sad.
"What," the identified Magic Rock Troll said while sliding out of her cubicle on her rolling chair, adding, "It's true! Having two Trolls from different tribes dating together is unnatural! At least in Normal Troll history, of course."
Katy sent a glare to the Magic Rock Troll before she looked at Laguna, saying, "Despite Karla's way of putting it, it's...true. I don't mean to sound offensive when I say it, but...it is odd to see a Normal Funk Troll and a Normal Techno Troll dating. Usually, when it comes to dating, you date someone of your own kind."
Laguna then pointed out, "Well, forgive me if I am wrong, but I don't think that is necessarily true because anyone is elleigible to date a Troll of any type, even if they're different from your own kind. Don't the Magic Musical Trolls here follow that same pattern as well? You dated a Magic Rock Troll, Katy, and his genre of music was different from yours."
"Yes, that is true," Katy answered, explaining, "But the reason why I dated him was because he and I are in the same tribe, and same division. We're both Magic Musical Trolls, so even if our genre of musics were different, us dating wouldn't be strange because we're in the same tribe and division. Meanwhile, a couple like you and that McJagger guy is odd because while you both are in the same division, you're both from separate tribes, so mixed couples like that isn't how nature intends it for Normal Trolls."
"Yeah, you two have absolutely no physical similarities between you two, and nothing in common between your types of music," Karla added.
"Plus, imagine how disturbing it'd be if you both ended up having kids! They'd be like some mixed-up-," a male Magic Classical Troll started to say.
"Do not finish that sentence," Karla sternly told the Magic Classical Troll before she said to Laguna, "Look, we don't want to tell you not to date him, because it's your choice on who you want to date. But, we're just looking out for you and your future...if you ever do want to end up becoming more...romantically involved, you know"?
Laguna was taking all of this in and doing her best to hold it together and not break into bitter tears of sadness and anger. She slowly took a shaky breath in and out, retorting with, "Well, I appreciate you "looking out" for my love life, but I am doing just fine. McJagger and I are happy together, and we both love each other so much. Now, as much as I'd "love" to continue this conversation, I have to return to my station," before walking away, leaving Katy to watch her in concern while Karla and the male Magic Classical Troll rolled their eyes.
When Laguna got back into her cubicle, she allowed herself to let out a few tears, stifling her cries quietly so no one could hear her. She struggled to keep it in, feeling the reality of the criticisms she got hitting her hard in the chest.
After the bit of criticism they got this morning, both McJagger and Laguna did their best to try and not think about it, not wanting what the other MMTs said to bring down their mood.
Trying to make it better, McJagger thought that it'd be a great idea to make a post on Loveagram in honor of his and Laguna's dating monthsary, adding in the caption "Excited to be celebrating our monthsary together! A night out at #MannyDeZeus certain to be filled with love and fun memories"! He uploaded a picture of the day he and Laguna got together on his phone and made a post before publishing it, thinking that it would spread some cheer and he might be able to find MMTs that supported his relationship.
Laguna was the first to be notified of his post while she was at work, checking it out on her phone, and smiled, loving the gesture. She pressed the heart button on the post to "like" it and made a fun comment, saying, "Awwwwww, you're such a sweetheart! Happy Monthsary, my handsome McJagger."
An hour later, both Trolls decided to go eat out on their lunch breaks but were about to be in for an unexpected surprise.
McJagger was leaving the fire station and walking down the sidewalk, looking around to find a spot to eat. As he was walking, he saw some Magic Musical Trolls hanging out around the sidewalk and smiled, waving hi to them.
But instead of friendly greetings, he got a string of weirded-out looks, disapproving glares, and even one Magic Pop Troll whispering what he thought sounded like gossip to a Magic Country Troll.
This confused the Funk Troll, but he figured that they were probably some of the few MMTs that maybe still didn't trust the Normal Trolls yet, as he continued to walk down the street.
But soon, as he passed more passerbys, he saw that a lot of MMTs were giving him some disgusted looks and weirded-out facial gestures.
"What is going on," McJagger asked while he looked around at all the MMTs that were staring at him.
"Well, well, well, didn't think you'd be showing your face around here," a voice commented, making McJagger turn his head and see Scarlet sitting on a bench strumming her guitar to Rock music.
"Oh, Scarlet," McJagger commented monotonously, crossing his front feet while asking, "What do you want? If you're here to cause trouble-,"
"Oh, no, no, no, little Funk Troll. For once, I'm not here to cause trouble," Scarlet replied with a smirk, putting her guitar away while getting up from the bench.
McJagger was confused, asking, "Wait...you're not"?
"Of course not. After all, you're already going through so much, why would I want to make anything worse for you," Scarlet commented in a mockingly pitiful voice.
McJagger looked baffled as he shook his head while replying with, "I-I'm sorry, look, I don't get what you're talking about. What exactly am I going through? As far as I'm concerned, I'm doing just fine."
Scarlet rolled her eyes while saying, "Really, because Loveagram says otherwise," before pulling out her phone and showing the post he had made.
McJagger looked at it and gasped at all the dislikes it was getting, including a sea of offensive comments, some too vulgar for him to even read.
Seeing the shocked look on his face, Scarlet continued to pick at his vulnerable state, saying, "I wish I could say it's not your fault, but...I can't blame you for choosing to date such a weird Normal Techno Troll. You both are just so different, too different to be together."
"I...I..." McJagger tried to say something in retort to Scarlet's statement, but he was just overcome with so much shock...he was speechless.
"What's the matter? Kitty Crittuurr got your tongue," Scarlet teased, adding, "How could you not see this coming? you know, the only thing weirder than your relationship with that dumb Techno is how those Normal Trolls are even friends with Aggie, who's such a weird MMT, but today, I'm more concerned about you."
McJagger could only stammer in nervousness, "Y-Y-You're not concerned about me-,"
"Oh, but I am," Scarlet replied, stating bluntly, "Because you're so dumb to think that a relationship where you're dating someone who's different from you in so many ways is bound to exist. You're both different species, you both have different types of music, you live in different homes, and it'd be so creepy to see if you'd even be able to start a family together. Get it through your head, Normal: You two are too different to be together."
Scarlet then took her leave, adding, "Guess you'll have to spend your monthsary celebration at Manny's alone," before she disappeared, leaving a crestfallen McJagger by himself.
Things weren't going any better for Laguna, as she was now receiving the same cold treatment, McJagger got: a sea of MMTs with disapproving glares towards her everywhere she went, and she had absolutely no idea why...yet. Walking out of the bakery where she had picked up a jelly danish, all the odd looks she was getting made the Techno feel nervous.
She was walking over to the bus stop when she heard a voice, "You know, you Normal Trolls always find a way to show just how much more imperfect you all are."
Laguna gasped, recognizing the voice, as she turned her head and saw Noah leaning up against the bus stop sign, saying, "Noah, what are you doing here"?
"I was just walking home and saw something completely imperfect, and it turned out to be you. In case you sked-," Noah commented, about to say something else.
"I wasn't," Laguna sternly replied before Noah interrupted her.
"I was invited by a "friend" to go to this place tonight called uh...Manny's, which you might be aware of since word of the street is that you and your "boyfriend" are going there tonight as well," Noah replied with a scoff.
Laguna rolled her eyes, saying, "Yes. You have a problem with that"?
"Oh no, I have no problem with it at all," Noah commented, pretending to sound sweet, before he stated honestly, "It's your relationship with that Normal Funk Troll I have a problem with. It's so ugly, words can't describe how strange and weird you two look together."
Laguna held in an angered growl before retorting, "Well, I don't see why I would have to hear you talk about who I choose to date, considering your history of relationships, especially after the harsh way you dumped Aggie just because you thought she wasn't pretty without her True Colors."
"Ah, but here's the thing, Normal," Noah instructed, saying, "At least our relationship wasn't odd because Aggie, much like myself, and all the other MMTs around here, we're all in the same Troll Tribe, and division. No matter if we are different genres of music, because we're in the same tribe and same division, we are allowed to date whomever we want of our own kind, even if that MMT has a different genre of music. Meanwhile, as for you and "what's his name, " you both are from two completely different tribes and far from even being compatible."
Laguna scoffed, saying, "Well, you and a few MMTs may think that, but it's not like you can change my opinions or anything. I am in love with McJagger, and nothing can ever stop me from loving him."
Noah rolled his eyes before saying, "Well, maybe I might be able to get it clear to you, but they might."
"Who's this "they" you're referring to," Laguana asked while raising an eyebrow in confusion.
Noah simply lifted up his phone, showing the post that McJagger had made, and when Laguna saw the number of dislikes and the negative comments it had, her heart dropped.
Noah simply smirked while putting his phone away, "Good luck," before he left, leaving Laguna all by herself at the bus stop.
Laguna shakily looked down at her hands before she picked up her phone, dialing it to call her boyfriend. She heard him pick up on cue, saying, "Hello"?
"McJagger, it's me," Laguna replied nervously.
"Hey, boo! Um, listen, can we...meet up somewhere to chat for a minute," McJagger asked on the other line.
Laguna couldn't help but smile, saying, "Coincidentally, I was just about to ask you the same thing," before adding in a little more serious tone of voice, "And perfect timing too, because...I think we need to have a chat."
Deciding that they had to talk about this together in order to try and find a way to deal with the situation, they made plans to meet up during their lunch breaks outside an outdoor-seated restaurant where they had a large tank full of Lobster Critters that customers could choose which lobster they wanted. McJagger was gonna eat lunch there but wanted to meet up with Laguna and talk with her before he went in to eat lunch.
As he waited outside the restaurant, right by where the tank was, he saw the bus coming up to a nearby bus station and saw Laguna coming out of it and walking up to him.
Once she had approached him, both Trolls ended up saying in unison, "We need to talk"!
They both couldn't help but blush and giggle when they realized what they did before McJagger spoke up, saying, "Cuteness aside, we need to talk, boo. Have... you been experiencing any...criticism lately about our relationship"?
Laguna rubbed her left arm nervously, saying, "Yeah, I have, and...it's been pretty hurtful. Same with you"?
McJagger nodded his head, saying, "Yeah...I've been experiencing some too. Scarlet even laid it into me earlier while on my way here, and she was...harsh."
"I could say the same for my run-in with Noah, who was just as snottish and blunt as ever," Laguna answered back, adding, "Still, despite his attitude, seeing all those MMTs and the way they just saw us as weird because you and I are romantically involved...it hurt...bad."
McJagger brought Laguna close to him, saying, "I feel you, boo. It hurts, but no matter what, it's not going to change anything. You still love me, right"?
"With all of my heart and soul," Laguna replied while looking up at McJagger, asking, "And you still love me, correct"?
"I'd sell all of my stuff and quit my job if i had to if it meant I'd get to spend my entire life with you, the love of my life," McJagger replied.
Laguna then felt like she had to ask this and inquire McJagger, "McJagger...if I wasn't a Techno Troll...and I was someone different...would you still love me"?
McJagger soothingly ran a paw through her hair, saying, "Laguna, it doesn't matter what type of Troll you are; I love you, not for what you are, but who you are as a person. And as long as you keep up ith these attributes that make you you, there's nothing in the world that can ever make me stop loving you. People can talk...but I don't listen because you're what matters most importantly to me."
Laguna looked up at McJagger, asking, "Really"?
"Most definitely, boo; I don't care what anyone says; I love you, Laguna. And I'll keep loving you till the day I die," McJagger commented while patting his chest with his fist.
Laguna felt a reassuring smile develop on her face as she then asked, "You promise"?
"Does this answer your question," McJagger replied as he cupped her chin, and the pair shared a romantic kiss together.
The Lobster Critters in the tank saw the pair kissing and grinned while they watched, saying in unison, "Oooooohh"!
Soon, both Trolls stepped back as Laguna winked at McJagger, saying, "See you tonight, McJagger," before heading back to the bus station and hopping onto the next bus that would take her back to the 2-4-0 dispatch center.
McJagger watched his girlfriend leave with an in-awe love trance.
Suddenly, he felt his stomach rumble and remembered he was hungry and then, he saw a Lobster Critter stand up in the tank and tell him, "Hey, McJ! These," and clapped its claws together before adding, "Hugging around her," and chuckled.
McJagger looked up at the Magic Pop Troll, the waiter waiting to let McJagger in, and said bluntly while pointing at the Lobster Critter who spoke, "Kill that one, please."
Later on that day, McJagger and Laguna returned from work and were back in the condo, getting ready for their night out.
While McJagger was adjusting his purple tie in the mirror in his and Laguna's room, he was also talking to Trollex and Aggie about their earlier encounters with Scarlet and Noah.
"I swear to Troll, the next time I see the Magic Rock Troll, I will literally throw punches to her snobby face," Trollex commented angrily while balling his fist up.
Aggie was able to calm Trollex down, saying while putting her hand over his, making the Techno king blush, "Easy, Trollex. Trust me, I would love nothing more than to dish payback at her too, and Noah, but McJagger and Laguna seemed to be able to handle it alright."
McJagger, who was wearing a dark purple tuxedo with white cuffs at his ankles, and a purple tie, replied, "Yeah. Plus, even after what happened today, nothing's going to stop us from having the best night out or dating. We love each other deeply, and honestly, we could care less now of what others say because it's me and Laguna against the world, together forever, just like you two."
Trollex and Aggie both blushed while laughing together in reply, with Trollex saying, "He is right, Aggie, and I swear to Troll that I will love you to infinity and beyond, and no one and nothing can stop me," before kissing Aggie on the cheek, making her blush deeply while she smiled.
"Besides, it's in our promise, remember," Trollex added as he and Aggie held hands, both their hands each wearing their special promise rings.
Aggie smiled and said, "And as long as we keep that promise together, I know that you'll be the most charming husband of all time," Aggie commented, snuggling up to Trollex and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
The Techno king sighed happily and blushed while he melted into Aggie's arms, saying, "Just like you'll be the most beautiful wife of all time."
McJagger couldn't help but snicker when he saw Aggie and Trollex being adorable together. Then, he heard Laguna's voice from the bathroom call out, "I'm ready."
"Perfect timing, boo. Shall we-," McJagger started to reply, but when Laguna came out of the bathroom, and he saw how she had dressed up, his face flushed a whole shade of pink, and Trollex and Aggie's jaws dropped.
Laguna was wearing a simple dark blue sleeveless dress with a light blue rim and fingerless sleeves, black leggings on her legs, and instead of her glasses, she was wearing her emergency contacts. Her dark blue hair was tied back into a small bun, and she had light blue eyeshadow around her eyes, with little bits of glitter blush around her cheeks.
"Oh, golly! You look amazing, Laguna," Aggie complimented.
"Yeah, you look so incredible," Trollex added before playfully elbowing a stunned McJagger, asking him playfully, "What do you think, buddy"?
McJagger could only helplessly stammer as he was too in awe of Laguna's beauty to even utter one word right.
Laguna giggled, saying, "Maybe I can help answer for you," and kissed him on the cheek, snapping McJagger back into it.
McJagger then, uncharacteristically, jumped up while saying, "Hoo, doggy! You look so beautiful, Laguna"!
However, when he realized what he said, his face flushed pink in embarrassment, as he bowed his head while smiling sheepishly, saying, "Sorry about that."
Laguna giggled, replying, "No worries. I can't help it if my beauty gets you feeling excited."
McJagger's pink blush grew bigger as he then smiled, saying, "So, shall we? If we get to the bus station in 5, we will arrive to Manny's just 5 minutes early."
"Since when are you big on arriving early," Laguna replied with a sly smile, causing McJagger to blush again while he said, "Because if we are late, we might have to wait in the long lines"?
Laguna gently elbowed McJagger, saying, "Note: I was just messing, but yes, that is true. So, if you're prepared, I am set to go too."
McJagger grinned and lowered himself down to the floor, saying, "Your ride, madam."
Laguna hopped onto McJagger's back, and the pair left the condo room together, heading to the elevator.
Trollex and Aggie also left the room after the couple had gone, with Aggie saying, "Those two are gonna be in for quite a night."
Suddenly, Aggie had a thought in her mind, which Trollex noticed and asked, "Whatcha thinking about, Aggie"?
Aggie pointed out, "Well, McJagger and Laguna had faced a lot of criticism today involving their relationship, and Noah and Scarlet were being really hard on them. What if...what if those two end up going to that club tonight and try to humiliate them"?!
Trollex gasped, saying, "Oh no! Laguna did say that Noah mentioned he was going to that club tonight with a "friend" of his; what if it's Scarlet"?!
"We can't let those two do anything to humiliate our friends! Especially on their monthsary," Aggie commented.
"You're right! But what do we do? Or rather, what can we do, Trollex pondered.
Both Trolls paced the hallway, coming up with a plan together, before Aggie snapped her fingers, saying, "Ok, here's what we'll do. You and I are gonna sneak into that club. I'll sneak in first and go through the vents to help get you inside without anyone spotting us. Then, we blend in and hide while we spy on Scarlet and Noah, if they do end up showing up at Manny's, and if they try anything to hurt or humiliate our friends, we jump in, catch them in the act, and boom! they get kicked out, McJagger and Laguna get to have their date night, all is good"!
"Great idea, Aggie," Trollex said excitedly before asking, "But what if the MMTs at the club question why we are there together"?
"We'll tell them that one of the Harmonious Land leaders had assigned us to help with proper building patrol maintenance," Aggie decided, adding, "It'll bound to work. After all, if they hear that we were assigned to do it by one of the Harmonious Leaders, they'll have to believe us, right"?
"Yeah, especially since I'm also a king, and you're the Master of All Music, so it's like doing a leadership task to help out," Trollex replied.
"Exactly," Aggie commented.
"In that case, let's do it," Trollex declared, both him and Aggie giving each other a high five and blushing while they did so, set to put their plan into action.
Down at Funk Bar, the neon lights shone bright and illuminated the neighborhood.
At the moment, there was a long line of MMTs waiting outside a gigantic club with dark purple walls and hot pink pillars, and it was designed almost like a giant tent, with a small fabric foyer at the top (like the top of a circus tent) with purple and blue stripes, and a gigantic glowing sign that said "Manny DeZeus" on top in neon colors. At the front of the club, there were heart-shaped steel frames above the main building, and the entrance to the club was even shaped like a heart, with red walls in the entrance and lights following the heart-shaped doorway.
A bulky Magic Country Troll was letting a few MMTs in at a time.
In the line, about to enter, McJagger and Laguna were walking hand-in-hand into the club.
Aggie and Trollex were watching this from an alleyway as Aggie explained, "Ok, I'll try to go in first, and I'll meet you over by the vents."
"Got it, just be careful, ok," Trollex asked Aggie.
Aggie nodded and gave Trollex a quick romantic kiss before she snuck into the line and weaved her way through it.
Aggie tried to secretly fly in without anyone noticing her, but the Magic Country Troll guard stopped her, grabbing her by her tailfin while saying, "Woah there, lil' lady, y'all got ayy resuurrvashun"?
Aggie tried to make up an excuse, saying, "Oh, uh...y-yeah, I'm with those two."
"This club is faw couples only," the guard replied sternly.
"It's what," Aggie commented in shock.
"It's what," Trollex commented in shock, but in a whisper, as he watched, overhearing from the alleyway.
"Naw date, naw resuurrvashun, naw entry," the Magic Country Troll told her sternly.
Aggie gulped, trying to think of a way she could get is, as she then said, "Look, sir, those two that went in are my friends from the Troll Kingdom, and I just want to go see them. Plus, I'm the Master of All Music, so, maybe we can try and do a little exception for once"?
That answer ended up getting Aggie tossed into the alleyway, making her land in the dumpster behind Trollex, before she popped out and shouted angrily, "You stupid Troll"!
"Well, that was a bust. How were we gonna expect it to be a "couples only" club," Trollex commented as Aggie struggled to climb out of the dumpster.
"I know, and now we're back to square one. Noah and Scarlet could possibly be humiliating them by now," Aggie commented sadly.
"We just need to think of a way to get into that club. But unless we can conjure up fake dates, I don't think-," Trollex started to say.
Suddenly, Aggie got an idea, saying, "Trollex, that's it! You're a genius"!
Trollex smiled, saying, "Thanks," before asking, "How am I a genius"?
Aggie explained, "He rejected my entry because I didn't have a date with me, but if he saw me with someone by my side and faked him into thinking that Troll is my "Date, " maybe we can enter together"!
"Except where are we gonna find someone to be your fake date," Trollex asked.
Aggie smiled, saying, "We don't need to look too far, because the answer is right in front of me."
Trollex was confused, asking, "Right in front of-," before he realized she meant HIM, commenting, "Me"?!
"Of course you, silly," Aggie commented, "After all, you are my real-life boyfriend, but no one knows yet about us dating one another since our relationship is still a scret. So, if we disguise you, then they'll think you're a regular MMT, and then you and I can enter that club together as a "fake couple" under the reality of us actually dating together without anyone finding out."
Trollex thought about the idea, saying, "So, I wear a disguise so I would look like a fake boyfriend without anyone finding out I'm actually your real boyfriend, so we can go look out for our friends on their date night without anyone discovering our actual relationship yet? That's perfect! But, what if we get caught doing this"?
Aggie bit her lower lip, saying, "It is a risk, but it's one that we should try to take together...if you're in with me"?
Trollex smiled and pulled Aggie into a romantic kiss, saying, "Of course. I'd go through fire with you if we had to do something risky together, because I'll always be there for you, my sweet Aggie."
Aggie blushed and grinned, saying, "Thanks, Trollex," before saying, "Now, let's find something to disguise you in.
A few minutes later...
"This hoodie is a little hot," Trollex commented while tugging at the ends of a black hoodie sweatshirt he was wearing, the hood currently on and covering his hair and head, with only his eyes showing, and going all the way down to halfway around his tailfins because it was pretty large for his size.
"Well, on the plus side, it covers most of you. As long as no MMT looks down at your fins, you'll be just fine," Aggie replied, holding to tie the strings that would held keep the hood in place.
Aggie suddenly got a great idea, saying, "Oh! and these will help keep the shape of your ears hidden too," before placing a set of blue headphones onto Trollex, covering his already covered ears.
Trollex looked at his reflection along the metal portion of the dumpster and grinned (despite the hood covering his smile), saying, "I look completely unrecognizable. Though...you think the MMTs might notice my eyes"?
Aggie seemed to notice, replying, "True, your eyes would probably be the only recognizable trait...wait, I got it," before pulling out a pair of sunglasses (the same ones she wore the day of the musical showcase) and placed them on Trollex's face, covering his eyes.
"Now, you look totally unrecognizable," Aggie commented, adding quietly, "And super cute."
Trollex blushed heavily but grinned as he said, "Awwww, well, anything to help us help our friends. Now, let's get into that club."
Hand-in-hand, the disguised Trollex and Aggie walked back to the club and approached the front, where the same Magic Country Troll first recognized Aggie, saying, "Y'all again?! Beat it, ya dope"!
"Ahem," Trollex said in a deep voice, trying to hide his regular voice, commenting, to the Magic Country Troll's shock, "Do we have a problem"?
The Magic Country Troll, luckily, didn't recognize Trollex in the disguise, but he was surprised to see Aggie with a sudden "date" out of the blue, as he stated, "Oh-Oh! Oh, ay am so sorry. Please, go raheet ahead."
Aggie and Trollex were able to walk right into the club without anyone getting suspicious. But before they went into the main room, Aggie decided to leave the Magic Country Troll with a very fitting gesture: by quickly peeking her head out and doing a big raspberry before disappearing into the club, the Magic Country Troll grimacing in frustration as a result.
Inside the club, Trollex and Aggie were amazed by how it looked inside.
The interior of Manny's consisted of the basic appearance of a common dinner theater restaurant, with tables for the guests and a stage in front, showcasing the establishment's name in lights for the performances that would go on during the evening. The interior was lit by a large chandelier of colorful light balls with a floral design, along with other multi-colored lit lanterns on the walls and at least one chimney out of glass in which a purple light ball glows. On top of the chimney was a lounge-type seating area, and back on the ground by where the tables were was the bar, which had four elevated stools and was made up of a round table with a green tabletop and pink edges. Behind the bartender, who was a female Magic Classical Troll, was a rack filled with various bottles, carafes, and glasses.
"Woah," both Trolls said in surprise/unison.
"So, this is what a club in Harmonious Land looks like," Trollex commented.
Aggie saw a lot of couples having a fun time enjoying their food and chatting with one another, making her say, "I can see why this is a popular place for couples to hang out."
A waiter led the disguised Trollex and Aggie to a table, where they both took a chance to sit down and look around their surroundings.
"Wow, I got to say, Aggie, whoever this Manny guy is that runs this place, they sure know how to construct such an amazing place," Trollex commented.
"Yeah. It's like the perfect site for a date night for any Troll," Aggie added before she said, "Now, let's get down to business. Do you see McJagger or Laguna anywhere"?
Trollex and Aggie both pulled out binoculars and proceeded to look into them, looking around for any sign of their friends.
Trollex looked past a few tables before he found the one that McJagger and Laguna were sitting at, saying, "Found them"!
At their table, McJagger and Laguna were both currently looking at one another fondly, while each Troll had a small champagne glass filled with punch
Aggie saw where Trollex was looking, saying, "There they are," before looking off into the distance where another table was, where Scarlet was sitting boredly while texting on her phone, and Noah was too busy looking in a mirror, not even looking up at the Magic Rock Troll.
Aggie smirked, saying, "Looks like those two aren't having any "fun" tonight."
"And with us now on watch undercover, any attempts they make to spoil our friends' fun date night will be stopped shortly and swiftly," Trollex added.
Trollex then commented, "You know, I know we're doing this undercover, but...it is really nice that we're getting to do this together."
Aggie smiled, saying, "Yeah, I feel the same way. But then again, anything i do with you always feels like a blast."
Both Trolls giggled while blushing before Trollex said while reaching out for Aggie's Classical hand, grabbing it gently, as he said, "Say, Aggie, you think maybe once we do...come clean with everyone about our relationship, we could...have a date night here too"?
Aggie's blush got deeper as she said, "Well, I would love to, though, my only worry is still about how everyone is gonna react once we do tell them. We're already risking a lot being in here undercover together, but if the MMTs ever found out about us being together for real, who knows what might happen"?
"I feel you there, but, if anything, no matter how other Trolls would react, I could honestly care less. Because...I love you, Aggie, from the tip of my heart to the tip of my tailfins, I love you, and if it weren't for me being undercover, I would serenade you with a Techno song of love and happiness and hold you close as we dance till midnight," Trollex professed, his words lulling Aggie, who watched and listen to her boyfriend with utmost happiness, feeling her heart pitter patter in excitement.
Aggie giggled, saying, "You always know just what to say to make me feel less worried. Although, if anyone's gonna be doing the love song, it's me, serenading you, under a full moon under the sea, just you and me, and possibly the fishes that watch us swim together."
Both Trolls broke into laughter again, as Aggie then said, "Well...even though this isn't an official date night...maybe we could...make it feel like one"?
Trollex and Aggie were smiling as they locked eyes, looked at one another fondly, and moved forward, almost close enough to share a kiss.
But before they could, a voice then spoke into the speakers, saying as the spotlights by the stage flickered around, "Ladies and gentleTrolls, I see a lot of happy couples having fun here tonight"!
A Magic Funk Troll in a black tuxedo, a black top hat on his head, black pants and white-and-black dress shoes, a red bowtie, who had light purple skin, a pink heart tattoo on his forehead, and pink eyes, along with light blue hair under his top hat, came out from a puff of smoke, saying, "Welcome, Welcome to Manny's! Funk Bar's #1 place for all you happy couples to get to dine, drink, watch, and make romantic memories to hold onto for the rest of your lovely lives"!
"The gem joint of Manny DeZeus himself! Come on, give him some love," the Magic Funk Troll declared while making a heart shape with his fingers as all the couples at their tables applauded and cheered.
"Manny DeZeus is the full name of the guy that runs this place," Trollex inquired curiously.
"I guess so," Aggie replied before she saw Noah and Scarlet about to turn their heads toward where they were sitting, making her panic and say, "Quick, hide your face"!
Both Trolls quickly picked up the menus they each had and opened them, burying their faces in it so it would look like they were "looking to order" and not like they ere hiding from others.
The Magic Funk Troll on the stage continued, saying, "I'm the one and only Machiavelli; proud partner of the big man himself who wanted to build this place as a special date night spot so all you lucky MMTs and your partners can chillax, have fun, and most importantly, get to spread the love around!
We have a spectacular show for you tonight! With special musical acts by VeTrollica Mayberry Day, Splash Thoughts, and the Squirters," Machiavelli listed while naming some of the musical acts for the show tonight.
He then said, "But first, our little opening act is a fresh one! Coming at us from a little Normal Troll from a place in the Troll Kingdom called Trollstopia, give it up for McJagger...with no creative stage name whatsoever"!
House of Asmodeus by Don Darryl Rivera, James Monroe Iglehart, Cristina 'Vee' Valenzuela, Alex Brightman, Brandon Rogers, Erica Lindbeck & Richard Steven Horvitz
As the crowd was applauding for McJagger, he got up and beamed happily, holding an acoustic guitar in his front paws.
Laguna gave her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek for good luck while watching the red Funk Troll walk up onto the stage.
McJagger approached the mic, saying, "Hi there," but stepped back when he heard the microphone's feedback squeal. Once it died down, he continued, saying, "This song is for my beautiful girlfriend; a surprise for our first dating monthsary. I love you, Laguna."
Laguna listened excitedly as she saw McJagger begin to strum his guitar and sing into the microphone.
McJagger: I love you; more than a fish loves to swim in the sea. More than the birds that fly over the trees. More than the sound of your harmony!
Some of the MMTs in the audience, who weren't feeling weirded out from seeing McJagger and Laguna together, cringed a bit while hearing the song because they felt that the song was a bit too sappy.
Aggie and Trollex thought that the song McJagger was singing was very sweet, but couldn't help but feel a bit worried for him when they saw how the other MMTs were reacting.
McJagger: You make my heart sing; yeah, with you, everything feels oh so swell!
Machiavelli was watching this performance from a seat up high, along with the silhouette of another MMT that was sitting next to him, who watched the performance inquisitively.
McJagger: Our love is a story sweet to tell. Yeah, you cast a special Funktastic spell over my heart!
In McJagger's mind, he imagine during the song, pink smoke covered the floor, leaving him and Laguna alone in the room, as the pair locked eyes and looked at one another romantically while he sang his heart out happily towards her.
McJagger: Love is a journey we decided to start! Yeah, I hope we'll never be apart!
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
Suddenly, two background voices backstage started to make him feel a bit nervous, as he unsurely sang "I love you" a few more times before the voices seemed to overpower his music, continuing to say "I love you" mockingly at the Normal Funk Troll, cackling in the background.
About a few seconds later, in a puff of smoke, the same Magic Funk Troll announcer, Machiavelli, had returned, standing right beside a male Magic Swing Troll with brown skin, yellow eyes, a thick mane of cyan hair styled slick back, and he wore a navy-blue vest with two pairs of glowing white stripes on the upper half and a red undershirt with blue cuffs that have red heart-shaped cuff links, along with a black top hat, and flat black shoes that have red-colored tips. He was also wearing, over his vest, a purple coat with pointed shoulder pads, a collar that had a pink inner lining and a dark purple fur collar.
Swing music played in the background as the new MMT sang a verse.
?: You singing to your Techno lover in my swinging lounge?
Machiavelli slid over to McJagger, playing Funk music on his bass guitar while standing up close to the Funk Troll, who grew nervous when he saw who he was face to face with.
Machiavelli: Manny's ain't the place for those odd-couple music sounds!
The swing music started up again, with the new MMT, who appeared to be the owner of the club, singing a verse along with the swing music, while McJagger nervously stepped back, knocking the microphone by accident as he stumbled to stand back up.
?: What'd you expect from a proprietor like us?
Machiavelli then played his bass guitar again, doing some Funk music, as he sang and introduced the club owner.
Machiavelli: Your swinging host, Manny DeZeus, the leader of this club!
Manny looked down at McJagger, while he sang along to the swing music that played in the background.
Manny DeZeus: Date one as the same!
Machiavelli played Funk music on his bass guitar, matching the tempo of the swing music, while McJagger looked at Manny nervously, fiddling with the collar of his tuxedo.
Manny DeZeus: Follow your Funky game!
Machiavelli danced around Manny, the two dancing together side-by-side.
Manny DeZeus: Find a girl with Funk blood, and end your Techno-Funk dud! In the house of Manny DeZeus!
"Feel that vibe, Normal Funk Troll," Machiavelli commented.
Manny slid over, standing beside McJagger, leaning his arm up against the red Funk Troll's shoulder.
Manny DeZeus: Little Normal, you came here to sing your serenade. Perform your feelings on a velvety stage.
Then, Manny grabbed the Normal Funk Troll by the shoulders, looking at him coldly eye-to-eye, which only made McJagger more nervous that the owner of the club wasn't happy with his song.
Manny DeZeus: Well, we have a saying for the couples who are mixed.
When McJagger tried to leave the stage, Machiavelli stopped him by using his hair to grab McJagger by his legs and spun him around really fast, like a top, making him fall onto the floor dizzily, before playing Funk music on his bass guitar and singing along with the Funk music.
Machiavelli: You both must be stupid or had your brains switched!
Manny DeZeus then took the next verse, singing to the swing music.
Manny DeZeus: You want to hang around this Funky town? Ditch the Normal Techno before we knock you around.
McJagger was caught by Manny, who pushed him down on the stage.
Laguna stood up from her seat, looking at her boyfriend in worry/concern.
Aggie and Trollex, who watched in secret, couldn't help but feel worried, too, especially in case their friend would get hurt as a result of this.
Back onstage, Manny continued his Swing music serenade.
Manny DeZeus: Here, we date those who are in the same tribe!
Machiavelli stood next to McJagger, picking him up with his hair and playing his bass guitar, playing Funk music and singing to it.
Machiavelli: And within the same division! Easy to describe!
Manny then used his hair to pick up McJagger, continuing to sing to the Swing music in the background.
Manny DeZeus: So, date one who's the same! One who's in your tribe's na-a-a-a-a-ame!
He then dropped McJagger, knocking down the microphone stand again, as McJagger looked up at the Magic Swing Troll in front of him.
Manny DeZeus: Listen to what I discuss! Your Techno-Funk vibe's a disgust! In the house of Manny DeZeus!
Come on, sing us a song!
Machiavelli used his light magic to make little light balls that surrounded Manny DeZeus, who danced while he sang to the swing music.
Manny DeZeus: About a Troll whose tribe is from yours all along!
McJagger, standing back up, fixing the microphone stand, saw Manny and Machiavelli standing behind him.
Manny DeZeus: Make it catchy, with some charismatic spunk!
"Be sure to rhyme Funk and skunk," Machiavelli suggested as a joke.
Manny DeZeus: Go ahead, the mic's on!
Manny placed the mic up in front of McJagger and gave him his acoustic guitar as well.
McJagger held the guitar in his paws and started to strum the same beat he was singing to earlier.
McJagger: I love my...
"Ooh, who do you love? Any of those Normal Funk girl twins? Or maybe that boy with the dreads and tassel? Or that one with the hat," Machiavelli asked.
McJagger: Beautiful girlfriend: Laguna Tidepool.
McJagger's singing answer made Manny DeZeus and Machiavelli frown in disappointment, with Manny glaring at the Normal Funk Troll, with swing music playing in the background.
Manny DeZeus: Ugh, what a weirdo Troll! You're killing the vibe here, man! Get a load of this dweeb, and his freaky girlfriend!
Some of the MMTs in the crowd were laughing at McJagger, while Laguna couldn't help but feel really bad for her boyfriend, who was taking it all in complete shock.
Aggie finally had enough of this! She couldn't just sit there and watch her friends get humiliated like this!
She stood up from her seat, shouting, "Hey now! I've seen McJagger and Laguna hanging out together a lot."
McJagger and Laguna were both really surprised to see Aggie currently in the club, with McJagger saying, "What?! Aggie"!
Laguna turned her head and saw that sitting at the table Aggie was at, to her shock, was Trollex, in disguise, as she was now not only stunned, but concerned because she knew Trollex and Aggie were taking a big risk of exposing their own relationship to the other MMTs around them. But on the other hand, seeing Aggie and Trollex there to help stand up for her and her boyfriend was a very kind act to do.
Meanwhile, Aggie was explaining, "And honestly, they make mixed genre Troll couples look very cute! Besides, who are you guys to judge them when you guys have all possibly dated MMTs of different music genres yourselves? We may be in the same division, but that does not mean you all should go insulting two Normal Trolls from different tribes who want to be together"!
Noah pulled a microphone from his hair and said, while standing up on the table he was sitting at, "Is that Aggie? So, you're showing your face"?
He then started to sing along to the swing music in the background.
Noah: Hey, every Troll! That girl's a total disgrace!
A red spotlight shined on Aggie, who used her hands to block some of the light, while Trollex, in his disguise, watched nervously, concerned for his girlfriend.
Noah: Some nerve you have to comment on a relationship!
"Last I heard, your love life is nothing but bits," Noah exclaimed maliciously, saying the last part up close to Aggie, who had a cold glare towards the Senator but was not fazed or deterred...until Rock music started to play in the background.
Which led her to turn her head and saw Scarlet strumming her electric guitar, playing Rock music, and starting to sing along with the Rock music.
Scarlet: Oh, Aggie? I used to date her.
Fellow Magic Rock Trolls in the audience: Date her! Date her!
"Oh, Scarlet, you're here," Aggie commented, annoyed/sarcastically, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.
Scarlet: I made everyone think I loved her!
Fellow Magic Rock Trolls in the audience: Think you loved her! Think you loved her!
Scarlet: But that was just a facade!
Fellow Magic Rock Trolls in the audience: Facade! Facade!
Scarlet: 'Cause I was actually playing her!
Scarlet then placed her guitar away, while Rock music continued to play in the background as she shoved Aggie to the ground while walking up to her, glaring her down, as Aggie now felt a little worried but still did her best to look brave.
Scarlet: A colorful weirdo, to be bleak! And is just as weird out on the streets! A magical outcast freak!
"Leave her alone," Trollex finally exclaimed while standing up in his seat, set to exchange fists with Scarlet if he had to...except when he realized he shouted, he saw all the MMTs, including Noah, looking at him in shock, and he realized...his headphones came off, , his sunglasses fell off his face, and his hood was down...revealing who he really was, which meant he just blew his cover, especially seeing the gasps of shock from the crowd around him.
Manny saw the Techno King at the table and had a curious/inquisitive/malicious grin, while Machiavelli was looking at Trollex's table with his binoculars, with the swing music returning and playing in the background.
Manny DeZeus: Who's that at your table? That the Normal Techno king, I see?
Trollex saw a spotlight was shined on him as he saw all the MMTs looking at him.
Manny DeZeus: Trollex, is that you?
"Are you dating an MMT," a Magic Pop Troll asked in shock.
Trollex was now more terrified than he ever was in his entire life, and one wrong move right now could make or break the secret being exposed, and he wasn't the only one fearing this, but Aggie, too, as she also shared the same terrified look on her face as she got up, with Manny pushing her back, much to her nervous reluctance, towards her seat.
Manny DeZeus: Hoo! My Techno lord, if true, then, how the mighty do fall! 'Cause, a relationship like that is the most disgusting of all! I hope you both aren't doing it. So, spill it...are you doing it?
Trollex and Aggie both frantically shook their heads no towards the Magic Swing Troll, as if to silently say that "No, they weren't together" while trying to cover their relationship as quickly as they could.
"Good," Manny DeZeus replied before he started to sing again while heading back onto the stage.
Manny DeZeus: 'Cause, you should date one in the same!
While he was singing, Trollex and Aggie secretly held hands under the table, trying to give one other reassuring squeezes, to let each other secretly know that despite this, they were still gonna get through this together, and no one, not even Manny DeZeus, could ever tear their romance apart. They were in this together forever, no matter what. They loved one another deeply, and nothing and no one had any right to tell them any different.
Manny DeZeus: Whether you're a mister or da-a-a-a-a-ame!
Machiavelli danced alongside Manny up on stage.
Manny DeZeus: Dating requires equality! Same tribe or division, you see! Any else is a felony! Pure disgust to them and me!
Machiavelli then played his Funk bass guitar along to the ending of the music, so he could sing with the Funk music, while Manny stuck with singing along with the swing music.
Manny (singing with the swing music) and Machiavelli (singing with the Funk music on his bass guitar): In the house of Manny...De...-
Finally, having enough of all of this, Laguna had marched up onto the stage, used McJagger's acoustic guitar, and swung Machiavelli on the head, knocking him out, before handing the guitar back to her boyfriend, saying with a warm smile at him, "Note: I believe you were trying to sing something to me, McJagger."
McJagger smiled, accepting the guitar while saying, "Yeah, I was."
He started to resume the tune he was singing earlier, singing the song HE had written just for Laguna, and no one could tell him any different to sing it to his one true love forever and ever: Laguna Tidepool.
McJagger: I love us. I love us just the way we are.
While he and Laguna walked side by side to a little stage podium, Manny ran over to the fallen Magic Funk Troll, who was reeling from his injury.
McJagger: Don't have to pretend to like to do things we don't. I always have you around to laugh at my little jokes.
While the red Funk Troll was singing, a backstage hand yawned and accidentally pushed down the lever, making the podium underneath McJagger and Laguna rise as the two held onto the pole and spun around with their hair, looking into each other's eyes with a lovestruck trance, while McJagger sang his heart.
McJagger: I'll never take you for granted! I'll always give you my best! And if you can offer the same, fate will handle the rest.
Machiavelli looked up at Manny and did a silent gag to show that this tune was so sappy and sick, before he and Manny both hugged and nuzzled cheeks together while McJagger sang the last verses.
McJagger: 'Cause I love you! 'Cause I love you!
After finishing his song, Laguna placed her hand under McJagger's chin, and the pair shared a romantic kiss on the stage.
Everyone in the audience applauded and cheered for the performance.
Meanwhile, Trollex and Aggie were looking at one another, completely unsure of what to do next. Their secret relationship was almost outed in front of everyone, and if they stayed here any longer, some MMT was gonna catch that they really were together, and all hell would break loose.
Aggie was the first to make a move, getting up while saying, "Come on, let's head back to the condo," and walking over to the door, with Trollex quickly following after Aggie.
However, at his table, Noah was watching the way Trollex and Aggie were interacting, and he secretly was smirking maliciously, saying, "Hmmmm, they sure do seem to be pretty "close" together." He seemed to have very high suspicions that his ex-girlfriend and the Techno king had a lot more going between them than others say they have, almost like...they're in love together! And if they are, he was gonna use that and humiliate Aggie and Trollex in the worst way possible.
On stage, McJagger and Laguna were both still intertwined in their kiss as the two soon separated, but kept looking fondly into each other's eyes.
Suddenly, their moment got interrupted when they saw Manny DeZeus and Machiavelli watching them, with Manny saying in a mockingly in-awe voice, "Awwwww, the two little Normal Trolls from different genres are sharing a sweet moment. That just makes me sick."
"GET THE HECK OUT," Manny DeZeus then exclaimed to both Trolls in a threateningly deep voice, startling the two.
However, while startled, both McJagger and Laguna weren't gonna let the head of the club criticize their relationship any longer. Both Trolls looked at one another and nodded in unison before McJagger spoke up, saying, "You know what? We will take our leave, sir."
"Huh," Manny and Machiavelli both said in confusion/unison.
"We shall most certainly leave. After all, why are we to stay where we are clearly not wanted? We can just continue our anniversary celebration elsewhere, somewhere where Laguna and I will celebrate our love together, no matter what anyone else says," McJagger explained clearly to the baffled Magic Swing Troll, before turning his head and saying to Laguna, "Boo, shall we continue this at Techno Water Amusement Park"?
"Note: most certainly," Laguna replied as the pair walked off the stage and left the club hand-in-paw, making Manny's jaw drop in shock while all the other MMTs in the club were speechless.
Some of them still thought that McJagger and Laguna dating was very weird, but after the display they saw how much they both truly cared about each other and how in love they were, then...it just didn't seem right to criticize their relationship any longer. After all, despite being different Troll species, they were both still Normal Trolls, so there was some sense of normalcy within their relationship. Plus, they did seem kind of cute together, at least to the MMTs that actually did support the McJaguna relationship.
Back at the condo, Aggie and Trollex arrived after riding the bus back, and walked inside, where it was really quiet. Everyone was already inside their rooms, resting for the night, leaving Aggie and Trollex as the only two currently inside that were still awake.
They both went up the elevator, not even saying anything to one another, as much as they wanted to; it just felt...awkward between them. Soon, the elevator arrived on their floor, and they exited it and entered their condo room.
Once inside their room, they entered their bedroom and just sat on the bed, each on their respective sides, still not saying anything, as they were surrounded by the quietness of the awkward silence. Trollex was fiddling with his thumbs while Aggie hugged her knees.
While they didn't say anything, both Trolls did give each other a worried side look as if to silently ask, "What is gonna happen now"?
Trollex made the first move and offered a comforting smile, bringing his hand up and offering it to Aggie.
Aggie didn't even hesitate as she moved over to Trollex's side, sitting right next to him and burying her face into his shoulder, letting tears fall as she cried quietly, while Trollex wrapped his arm around Aggie, placing his chin on the top of her head, trying to comfort his girlfriend, as he too, let a tear fall from himself.
Trollex and Aggie stayed in this position for a long time, neither one of them wanted to leave each other's side, especially not now. They didn't know what was going to happen next, but they knew that nothing was going to tear them apart and that together, they'd find a way. Their love will always find a way.
