Winifred didn't want to be affected by Hope's words. If anything, she would almost rather not have heard her at all. But how could she? This younger witch was so determined. They were alike in so many ways. She didn't really want to hurt her.
And then there was the rest of Hope's family. They would be very upset if something happened to her. Would they expose what she had done? of course they would. Just like her sisters had been so loyal to her, the Mikaelsons stood behind each other. She already couldn't help but wonder if Sara suspected what had really happened all those years ago. Worse, if Mary found out, she wasn't sure what would happen.

Of course, they hadn't always agreed in the past. Even now, it seemed like her sisters weren't fully willing to help her with this spell. And she was beginning to think it wasn't worth it at all. They had always stuck together. But this might be the one thing that could change all that. And that was a risk she couldn't take.
Sara hadn't been fully aware of how tense she had become until Winifred put down her spell book. Hope had courage she sometimes wished she herself possessed. Of course, she would always stand by her sisters. But there were some things that had never made sense to her. And sometimes it felt like Winifred took her for granted. A part of her sometimes secretly wondered if she just let her stay because of her power. Without that, would she still mean as much to her?
Mary was just as loyal as she was. But Sara knew a part of her needed more. There was something inside her sister she and Winifred couldn't fulfill. There always had been. And Hope seemed to have a hold on her. Maybe she was the missing piece that could make her truly happy.
Hope smiled as she realized they were in agreement again. "Our families don't have to be at war. I'd rather it not come to that actually."
Winifred frowned. "I'd agree. But if we're going to defeat them, we have to do it together."

Hope frowned. "Or we can earn their trust. If we show we're better than they think we are, they might be willing to accept us."
Sara frowned. "Maybe she's right. Where has fighting ever gotten us?"

Mary frowned, looking toward the sunlit window. "Not there."
Hope nodded. "So show them something new. Let them see what I've seen." It wasn't simple. But she knew deep down it could work if they all worked together./p
