Chapter Twenty-Nine
~James' POV~
James had waited around the hospital after sending Yuto home earlier. He'd been stuck thinking about the news article about Shina being arrested. He didn't doubt that she'd be able to get out, but she hadn't even told him what she was planning. Guess he should have figured something out to avoid reporting Momo's tracker to the villains. Now here was James about to run headfirst to the Nomu's warehouse to help find Bakugou and Kana. Well, that was a lie, he was mainly here to make sure Midoriya and Kirishima didn't cost Momo her life in the event they did something stupid. James sighed as he ran his hands through his hair. He accidentally yanked on his ear and shoved his hands away before he stood up in agitation.
Momo agreeing to this insanity had been surprising to him as he'd figured she would have seen the logic in not going after the villains that had attempted to kill them during their initial infiltration to capture Bakugou. Of course, James should have figured that once Midoriya got on board to get Bakugou back, the universe would say 'screw it, we're going this'. He dearly wished tonight; things didn't end too badly for them all.
"James you're still here?" Midoriya's voice called out breaking James from his thoughts. James turned his head to see the still bandaged Midoriya exiting the hospital. "Did you change your mind about tonight?"
"I figured Momo would agree to this insanity so I'm here to make sure nothing happens to her." Midoriya hesitated before he nodded in understanding.
"Kind of like how you promised Bakugou would come back?" Midoriya froze as James narrowed his eyes at him. "I-uh, I didn't mean that."
"Sure, you didn't." James stated flatly. "For what it's worth we were going to teleport back to the main house. Probably why the villain came and stole Kana, she was our ride." Midoriya nervously scratched his head.
"Yeah uh, I figured. I'm sorry Kana was taken. You and Yuto are probably going through what I'm going through as well." James snorted.
"I'm not sure. Kana likes us." Sometimes. Midoriya's awkwardness increased to James amusement. He should probably stop teasing the broccoli boy. "You realize that things may or may not go to plan tonight right?" Midoriya met his eyes and nodded.
"Yes I do. But I have to save Kacchan."
"Why?" James asked point blank. "He's not exactly been your friend and from what I've gathered, he's bullied you for years. Why would you risk your life to save him?" Midoriya's eyes shifted slightly to the right as he seemed to think about James question.
"I can't leave him in that situation." Midoriya finally stated. "If I can do something, anything, then I should do what I can to help. I know Kacchan and I aren't on good terms now, but he's still my friend. I care whether he's here to join me in becoming the hero he's always wanted to be." James analyzed Midoriya as he gave his reasoning before he nodded eventually.
"Okay. But you should know you should work on your cheesy speeches." Midoriya sweatdropped as James smirked.
"James," James looked past Midoriya to see Kirishima and Shoto walking towards them. "You came?" James nodded at Shoto.
"I'm glad you came." Kirishima grinned at James. James rolled his eyes.
"I'm here so Kana and Momo don't die in this reckless plan you idiots decided to go through with." Kirishima blinked.
"Yaoyorozu said she was coming?"
"I told James earlier." Momo's voice came. The four boys turned to see Momo coming from the Hospital entrance. She had a bandage on her forehead now instead of the gauze that was wrapped around her head earlier. "I trust you Todoroki. I know James doesn't approve but, if anything happens, at least we'll be here as added back up." James nodded along with her reasoning. They'd spoken about this mission at length earlier and even if James hadn't decided to come, he knew Momo would have come. She had been nothing but nice to him since he'd come and had earned a place as his friend. It was only fair that he returned that favor.
"We should get going then." Shoto stated.
"Wait." Iida's voice surprised them all as he came up behind their group. James figured they really should get somewhere more private if their group got much bigger. "Of all people, you three," James held up his hands as he registered the angry tone. He'd never seen Iida this angry before. "Should know better. Especially after criticizing me for my actions. You've been pardoned just like I was, you should know that this is going to get messy. Not just for you but for UA as well."
"What're you talking about?" Kirishima asked. James facepalmed as he realized that they were making a very loud scene in front of a public hospital. Not to mention Iida had just started talking about something they were prohibited from discussing with people who weren't at the Stain incident.
"Uh, if I could just chime in here." James interrupted Iida's speech. "We aren't supposed to talk about that especially in front of our classmates who don't have any idea what we're talking about. Though I realize this looks suspicious, I can promise everything did turn out fine so don't worry." This last sentence he said to Momo who narrowed her eyes suspiciously at them. "Yeah I know that was super fishy." James hooked an arm through Iida's arm and slid his other through Midoriya's arm. "And so will this, just give me a second. Shoto please follow us." James steered Iida and Midoriya around the corner with Shoto close behind.
"James this isn't exactly subtle." Shoto murmured.
"Can you blame me?" James asked him. "Look Iida," James let him go to swing around with Midoriya's arm still locked in his. "I realize this is a stupid plan and trust me, I'm all for trying to talk sense into them, but at some point you have to realize that you can either report us or join us."
"Haven't you three learned anything from the Stain incident?" Iida asked in outrage. "Seeing Midoriya injured? I can't allow that to happen. Not again. It brought up too many memories of my brother in the hospital. Are you really so selfish that you won't acknowledge my feelings on this? What happens when this vigilante act of yours takes you down a path you can't come back from?" James sighed as he realized that this was something Iida had clearly been agonizing over for a few hours if not days.
"Iida-" Shoto cut James off before he could go any further.
"Iida you seriously don't think we're going to smash through the doors gun blazing, do you?"
"To be honest I was thinking this." James stated. When he saw the looks of astonishment from Midoriya and Shoto he shrugged. "Midoriya was about to run into fighting the League headfirst when he was half broken okay? I doubt there's anything too stupid he wouldn't do."
"That's fair." Shoto sighed. "But no we aren't going to do this that way."
"It's gonna be a covert mission." Kirishima's voice came. James looked behind him to see Kirishima and Momo peeking around the corner at them. "That's how we heroes in training can stay on the right side of the law."
"And also why Momo and I are going just in case these idiots need a conscience." James added in. Momo nodded seriously.
"I can't just sit around doing nothing." Midoriya stated. James allowed him to slip out of his arm lock as he faced Iida head on. "I need to go save him." James raised an eyebrow at Iida who assessed them before he nodded once.
"There's no swaying you. In that case, take me with you."
"Okay." James answered. "So we got ourselves a gang. Are we all going to stand around talking about this or can we go and get Bakugou and my sister now?"
"Let's go." Kirishima called.
"Uh, we're going to need to hop onto the train station." Momo declared. The boys and James all looked at her as she formed the tracker from her arm. "The coordinates on the tracker point to Yokohama City in Kanagawa, specifically, Kamino Ward."
"Lets go then." James said. He really wished Kana was with him. Anything to prevent from having to take public transportation. He may have grown a bit spoiled at always having Kana's portals to travel. They got to the train station and onto the train to Kamino Ward without any issues. Why would there be? No one but they knew what was going to happen tonight. James sat across Iida while everyone else sat across them.
"It should be a two hour trip from here in Nagano to Kamino Ward." Momo stated. "We should get there around 10pm."
"Which leaves us with time to plan this insane heist." James uttered blandly.
"'Heist'?" Iida asked. James raised an eyebrow.
"Well, we are essentially going to steal Bakugou back. I mean I know he was originally ours but then he was taken and now we're just 'stealing' him back." James reasoned. Iida nodded once at his logic.
"Is your tracker able to zoom in on the location where Bakugou is being held?" Shoto asked Momo.
"Unfortunately, no." Momo replied as she gazed at the tracking device. "I can say that it's in a warehouse district as there doesn't seem to be many businesses or houses around it. We're going to have to play it by ear when we get there."
"Uh… did anyone tell the others the details about this mission?" Midoriya asked. James wasn't sure how this broccoli boy managed to look so innocent at times, he didn't trust it.
"Yeah, and then they wasted time trying to stop us." Shoto said as he ate his bento box. James wondered how he managed to get a bento box on the train. He should have grabbed something to eat before he boarded, he was getting kind of hungry now.
"Uraraka was really harsh about it. Trying to drive the point home." Kirishima said as he ate his rice ball. James wondered where they had stopped to get food and why he didn't know about this. He was hungry too. James blinked as he mentally assessed, was this really the best thing to worry about now?
"Uraraka, really?" Midoriya's voice barely registered.
"James was second." Kirishima's voice brought him back to the conversation as he glared daggers at Kirishima. Forget it, he'd never liked Kiri and now he was eating right in front of him? It was going to be on sight in a little bit.
"And as we all know when villains are involved, someone is bound to either end up back in the hospital or worse." James stated. "And where did you guys get food?"
"We got them at the station." Kirishima informed. Shoto cut in before he could continue.
"What we're about to do is a selfish thing that not everyone will be able to accept, maybe even Bakugou. There's still time if you want to back out." James sighed, forcing himself to relax. He could just grab something when they got to their destination. Besides, now was not the time for food.
"I wouldn't be here if I wasn't completely sure about this. Plus he's not the kind of dude to let any villain boss him around." Kirishima stated firmly.
"He may, if they threatened Kana in any way." Midoriya stated. James' ear flicked as he heard Kana's name. Realistically, he knew the dried twiggy leader they currently took orders from wouldn't allow Kana to be hurt, but thinking of it was unsettling. Their new 'agents' weren't exactly trusted yet. And with Shina in jail, he wasn't sure what good their deal was.
He really wished Shina was here to give him some direction.
"So what is the plan?" James blurted out. He met Todoroki's eyes as everyone looked at him. "You say you want to rescue the idiots, so what's your plan to get them back 'without violence'? You gonna dress in drag and do the hula?"
"Well," Momo spoke up, slightly red. "I mean, not really drag."
"What?" The boys all voiced as one.
~Kana's POV~
The door burst open, slamming against the wall from the force. Kana was a little shocked the door didn't just fly off.
"Kana?"
"Who are you?" Kana asked suspiciously as an old man in white and yellow entered the room she was in. She had never met this Hero before. Were there other Heroes here?
"I am Gran Torino. It's good to see you safe and sound Kana." He gave an old man smile that Kana found herself relaxing at. "Are you hurt?"
"Uh, not really?" She wiggled. "I'm probably rubbing my wrists and ankles raw though." He chuckled as he came over to help her get free. Kana stood up with his help but winced as she moved her wrists and ankles to leave the backroom to head for the main bar. Kana's sight was to see one entire wall broken in while Heroes and Villains filled the bar. Wood was coming from one Hero who help the Villains in place. All Might stood in the center of the room, one hand on Bakugou's shoulder who stared at Kana. Kana gave him a tired smile.
"I'm sorry Tomura Shigaraki," Kurogiri's voice called, breaking Kana's attention from Bakugou and All Might. "The nomu set aside for us… they're gone."
"You've still got a lot to learn Shigaraki." All Might spoke, sounding nothing but confident. Kana envied his confidence as right now. She herself, was just praying that Shigaraki didn't call on her to get them al out of here. It would certainly blow her cover. All these months of pretending… Kana sucked in a sharp breath as she realized, she didn't want it to end just yet. "Your little League has gone and taken some things too lightly. Like this boys indomitable spirit, this future heroine's steadfast courage and the relentless police investigation." Kana resisted the urge to flinch. Both from guilt and the secondhand embarrassment from All Might's cheesy speeches. "Your mischief has gone on long enough Tomura Shigaraki. It ends here!"
Kana's eyes turned to Shigaraki. Despite being encased in wood he seemed to be having a crisis as All Might talked. She didn't expect him to really give up after all the planning he'd been doing. Kana suspected he may as well call out to her now to get them out of here. Kana honestly wasn't sure if she would go through with it though.
"'Ends here' huh? Don't be stupid." Shigaraki finally spoke. Kana took a step back from his voice as she could literally feel how much hatred he was pouring into the air. "Justice this and peace that. All these things have kept the lid on your society's filthy underbelly. We're smashing through though. And to do that, we're removing you All Might. I've already started finding allies, so don't be mistaken, this is where it truly starts. Kurogiri!" Kana twitched at Shigaraki's shout. Kurogiri on the other hand, seemed to jerk before he slumped forward.
"Is he dead?" Kana asked aloud when nothing happened.
"No," A small thin black line appeared before it seemed to fill and grow into a male's head. "Just unconscious. I fiddled around with his insides. That guy was our biggest threat, so he's going to take a little nap." He turned to Bakugou. "I was able to make use of the weakness you exploited last time."
"Eh?"
"Like I just said, you'll all be better off it you all take it easy and turn yourselves in." Gran Torino spoke. "Kenji Hiikiishi, Atsuhiro Sako, Shuichi Iguchi, Himiko Toga, Jin Bubaigawara. Working with little intel and with even less time the police burned the midnight oil to figure out your identities. Get it?" Kana eyed the small old man as he named all the villains, minus herself. Which meant her job was technically still in effect as the spy. Also, they really worked to figure out the villains information, not even she had known their names yet. "There's nowhere left to run. Now Shigaraki, where's your boss?" Kana moved even further away from Gran Torino, old he may have been but he easily scared her more than All Might did.
"… you gotta be kidding…" Shigaraki spoke. Kana honestly didn't feel one way or the other about her employer but, seeing the shocked, lost and slightly deranged look on Shigaraki's face, her compassion for him arose. "This can't… this can't… Defeated… just like that? No freaking way, no freaking way!" Shigaraki's voice started to get hysterical. "Get outta here, and go to hell!"
"WHERE IS HE SHIGARAKI!" Kana flinched at the yell from All Might. What did he think was going to happen if he yelled at Shigaraki? Kana didn't respond well when she was yelled at, she doubted Shigaraki would. But still she held her tongue until Shigaraki gave her notice that he needed her. It wouldn't do for her to throw away her friendships just yet. 'I hate this whole villain/hero stuff. Guess now I understand why Shina kept us from all these politics.'
"I HATE YOU!" Shigaraki yelled in response. Kana's vindication cut short as black pools floating in the air appeared with nomu's pouring out of them. Kana gasped seeing the nomu coming out. The sheer pandemonium from the inky black blobs and nomu sprouting forth became too much for the heroes to keep track of as they were forced to ready for a fight.
Not a moment later Kana choked as she felt something foul coming up her throat.
"What the flash?" Kana yelped as she spit out the black fluid. It seemed to bring force more black tar that floated around her head. Kana doubled over as she hacked and coughed. A black substance oozed out of her mouth and seemed to encase her whole body. Kana couldn't scream or freak out as she was suddenly falling. It lasted only a moment before she was suddenly standing in front of All for One. "What the heck was that potato face?"
"I apologize for the sudden ride Kana. I figured a new playing field would be easier." Kana narrowed her eyes as she tensed. Black ooze came midair as the other villains and Bakugou appeared. Bakugou's hand on her arm caused Kana to flinch just slightly but he still pulled her so she was beside him.
"Where are we?" He grunted.
"I don't know." Kana responded lowly, never taking her eyes off All for One as he turned from them to Shigaraki crouched down on his hands and knees.
"You failed again Tomura. But you mustn't lose heart. There will be more chances to set things right. That's why I've brought along your little band. And these two, because you've determined that they're important pawns. So try again, that's why I'm here to help you. It's all, for you." Kana highly doubted that. The potato man was sketchy as flan (AF) to her. If he himself had brought this area to this much ruin then she doubted he would ever allow Shigaraki to 'make his choice'. He had to have some endgame going on here that he was keeping to himself. But whatever it was, it had to do with Shigaraki being the one to make his own choices. Whatever that was. Her earlier compassion had gone and now all that she felt for these villains was doubt and a heavy feeling that they were too entangled in their game to ever be free now.
"I knew you'd come…" Kana frowned at that. Who was he talking to? Her answer came a moment later as All Might suddenly appeared. All for One reacted suddenly by stopping All Might's fists with his own. The backlash from that force had Kana bracing herself against the winds as they whipped outwards.
"Urgh." Kana grunted as the force of All Might being pushed back caused an even greater force that had her to go flying backwards.
"Hurg!" Bakugou's arms grabbed her and cradled her head as she latched onto him. They merged just as they hit the ground, rolling a few feet before stopping. Kana was panting at the sheer force All might and One for All had just displayed. "You okay idiot?"
"I'm fine Bakagou." Kana snapped as they released each other to stare at the ensuing fight/argument.
"It's about five kilometers from here to the bar and it took you a whole 30 seconds to arrive after I sent the nomu. You're losing it All Might."
"So are you. What's up with that industrial looking mask. Should you really be up and about?" Kana had heard enough. If these two had faced each other previously and managed to walk away from it, there wasn't much doubt that they were on the same power level. She'd never really given it much though but seeing One for All in action, that was something that was going to haunt Kana's nightmares in the future. "I'm not gonna make the same mistake I made 5 years ago All for One. I'm taking these kids," All Might went flying towards All for One. "And this time I'm smashing you into a prison cell. You and your little League of Villains!"
"Sounds like there's a lot on your to do list." Kana's eyes widened as she caught the black whirling ball of power All for One was powering up.
"Katsuki down!" Kana yanked Bakugou down just as All Might hit the power ball that All for One had charged up. The ensuing force of the connecting hit caused an even bigger backlash than the previous one. Winds rushed past them so hard Kana felt her hair going flat against her head. Her eyes watered as her eyes dried out, forcing her to close her eyes. It was worse than anything she'd ever felt before. Kana clenched her teeth as she pressed her face into the warm body that clung to her with the same tightness. When the air finally settled Kana unclenched her arms only to feel how weak her limbs felt due to clutching Bakugou that hard.
"You okay Kana?" Bakugou asked. Kana didn't answer, she just nodded and let go of Bakugou so they could begin to stand up. The surrounding area had been broken. The buildings that once stood tall were now broken down into rubble.
"That's an Air Cannon plus Springlike limbs. Kinetically boosted by four and the strength enhanced by three. It's a fun little combination but I want to add in a few more power-up-type quirks."
"All Might!" Bakugou yelled out. Kana shushed him but All for One turned to them.
"Don't worry, that won't kill him." When All for One turned away Kana sighed in relief. Her relief was short lived as something flashed across her eyes, breaking her from her thoughts. She followed the light to a wall where a red light was shining from. Kana narrowed her eyes as the light went off and then went on again. "You need to flee Tomura. And take the brats with you." Kana's hand reached out and knocked against Bakugou's hand.
"What are you-" Kana looked at Bakugou's angry eyes and held a finger to her lips. He frowned at her angrily. She tilted her head towards the light. When he focused on it she saw he recognized the light.
"Something tells me our idiots are here." Kana murmured.
"Morons." Bakugou growled out. "I'm not going." Kana met his eyes.
"Should I remind you how they tried to 'persuade' you earlier?" He flicked his eyes down before glaring back up at her. Kana herself didn't flinch or back down. She watched as the conflicting emotions scrawled across his face as he fought with himself. "Katsuki," He stilled, focusing on her as she stated clearly. "We need to go."
"Fine." He frowned at her. "Do you have enough power to get us out of here?" Kana nodded.
"One good thing of being tied up, allowed me to recharge my batteries." Bakugou grinned. They both looked at All for One as he formed a black hole.
"Now go!"
"And you master?" Tomura asked. A loud boom sounded as All Might was suddenly flying back towards All for One.
"You're not getting away!" All Might yelled.
"Always think ahead Tomura, you still have much room to grow."
"Got a plan?" Bakugou asked.
"Yeah." Kana nodded before she shouted suddenly, "MIMISECU!" The force of All Might and One for All clashing caused another vortex of wind to arise. Kana grabbed Bakugou's shirt and threw her hand out behind him. Bakugou latched onto her pulling her closer as Kana forced them both back into the portal that was displaying the sky above them. They went through the portal, allowing gravity to pull them back down but Kana kept opening portals to put them in a 10-foot loop. She hadn't seen the alleyway where the others were hiding but if James, Shoto or Midoriya were here, then hopefully there was some good news that one of them could get them if she was mid-air.
"HOW LONG ARE WE FALLING?" Bakugou shouted in Kana's ear.
"Give them a minute." Kana grit out. As if on cue a large ice bridge formed right under Kana. She cancelled her portal allowing both her and Bakugou to land on Kirishima. Todoroki was in front with Kirishima just behind him, connected through the ice as Iida pushed them forward on the ice slide to safety.
"You idiots!" Bakugou cackled as Kana groaned in pain from landing on Kirishima in his hardened form. It was like falling on a pile of rocks.
"Heads up!" Kirishima yelled. Kana glanced back to see one of the League of Villains coming towards them. It was the magician. Kana lifted her hand to form a portal but she needn't have worried as Mount Lady suddenly stood up, breaking the ice slide but also stopping the villain.
"Go, get out of here crazy kids." Mount Lady mumbled before she fell over.
"Todoroki!" The ice slide was breaking up behind them and it was catching up to them.
"Hold on!" Todoroki yelled as he seemed to pour more ice into the slide before he ended it in a curve. "Jump!" Todoroki ordered. Kana felt arms grab her around the middle before she was pulled into a protective hold. She felt the jolt of hitting concrete but while her legs seemed to get the most of the brusing, her head and torso were fine. When Kana stopped rolling she patted Kirishima's shoulder who immediately let her go.
"Thanks Kiri." Kana smiled. Kiri's grin was infectious as he laughed.
"No problem Kana. That was fun." Kana rolled her eyes as she stood up to see Iida and Todoroki already on their feet. Bakugou himself was crouched but he seemed fine.
"So where's Midoriya?" Kana asked glancing around.
"What makes you think he's here?" Todoroki asked. Kana blinked at him.
"I'm not stupid. 'Kaachan' was stolen, who else but the broccoli simp would come to his rescue?" Kana pointed at Kiri. "Besides Kirishima?"
"It's not like I asked to be saved." Bakugou argued. "You were all the best option for chucking Kana at." Kana smiled.
"Sure Bakagou, whatever you say." She winked at his sputtering before she looked at Iida. "So where's the rest of the 'rescue squad'? I doubt James would have stayed away from this action."
"He's with James and Momo in the alley. We had to separate but we'll meet up with them later. We just need to get out of here." Iida reported. Kana nodded.
"We should get going before we get caught in the aftershock of this fight." Todoroki reasoned. The group of five started to move down the streets to safety.
The further they walked from the fighting, the less the ground shook. Of course the more they walked the more Kana felt her body tighten as stress and anxiety filled her mind. Despite the harrowing kidnapping, it hadn't really hit her until now. She had been kidnapped! By her own boss but still, the injustice of it all irked her. Not that she'd really minded being tied up, it was the fact that she had been insulted and made to look 'weak'. Not to mention she'd been told to lie to Bakugou and pretend she'd been hurt when all she'd done was scream. Kana growled low as she realized that her own morals of lying was warring with her conscience. Since when did she care about someone's feelings enough to get mad at herself and feel… guilty? She dearly wished she was back in California or Paris, somewhere far away from all this stress and drama.
Kana looked over at Bakugou to see him walking confidently to her right. He didn't display any wounds or look like he'd been distressed about being kidnapped. She looked down at her feet. This job was getting to be too much. Maybe it was time they backed out and left Japan.
It took a while before their group got to a safe area where a large group of people had gathered already in the streets. No doubt lured outside from the faint rumblings of the fighting. Kana saw a large TV displayed above them but it was black right now. She figured the news would start once they got into position to view the fighting between Hero and Villain. The media were crazy about hero fights, especially All Mights fights.
"Does anyone have a phone?" Iida asked. "I want to check on the other group."
"I have my phone." Todoroki said. He was already calling before anyone could say anything. Kana took this cue to sit down as her legs were killing her. The capri's she was wearing folded up to show the dark purple bruising on her ankles while the rest of her legs were very tender and sore. She also noted the bruising on her wrists but didn't worry over them. These would just go to show that she had held up her performance. No one would expect her to be a spy now.
"Are you okay Kana?" Kirishima asked, kneeling down beside her. He had a block of ice in his hand that was semi wrapped in another shirt. "Todoroki gave me the ice. Figured you could use it. Your bruises don't look that good." Kana sighed, taking the ice.
"Thanks. I'll live, it's not as bad as training." She started to ice her wounds. "Any news from the others?"
"They're safe." Kiri stated. "We can meet up with them later." Kana hummed in acknowledgement but kept her ears open as the voices in the area fluctuated. Kana wasn't sure what to do honestly, on the one hand she supposed she had better stay with the guys here, they had gone to a lot of trouble to get her and Bakugou back. However, she also wasn't sure if she should have gone to help All for One. Despite this jarring experience, Kana was honestly hoping All Might managed to live up to his boast and killed the potato face. Kana glanced up towards Kirishima, Todorki, Iida and Bakugou. It would certainly hurt less if they were to just leave after this.
"Look at the screens!" A man's shout pulled Kana from her thoughts. She looked up and saw the the screen that had previously been black was now brightly displaying All Might fighting All for One. Kana felt her mouth part slightly in surprise. All might looked terrible.
Despite how strongly he had been attacking in the beginning, Kana saw how beaten down he looked. She'd never seen him like this before. Not even on I-island had All Might looked so worn out. She supposed the talk of All Might getting weaker that she'd heard from Shina was true. Displayed on the screen were the words:
BREAKING NEWS: All Might Fighting Leader of Villains! #1 HERO IN DIRE TROUBLE!'
"Iida?" Kana spoke standing up. Iida tore his eyes from the screen. "Can I borrow your phone?"
"Oh certainly." He dug into his pocket and grabbed his phone before giving it to her. Kana nodded in thanks before she dialed Yuto's phone.
'Hello?' Yuto asked as he answered.
"Yu, its me Kana." She greeted before switching to their native language. "I'm okay. The villains got away. Big bad boss is fighting All Might on his own."
'Stay where you are Shina and I will come get you.'
"Okay." Kana breathed. Hope filled her for a moment as she ended the call and watched the screen above. The continued fluctuations of emotions from the gathered civilians as All Might fought against One for All raged all around her. Kana was immune to it all as she narrowed her eyes, watching the fight go on. She studied All Might's attacks as much as she could as she saw him weaken with every blow and yet…
Yet he continued to fight. Whatever power levels All for One held, even with All Might at low power, it still wasn't enough. Unless One for All was also just as weak as All Might. In which case, was it even a question to how screwed they were if they didn't get out of this in time? She wasn't a villain; she didn't want to destroy the world. She still liked the things in it. It wasn't perfect sure, but her family made sure to steal as many precious moments as they could. If the villains won, if One for All won… would there really be any winners?
When the dust settled and All Might was announced successful in beating One for All, Kana wasn't sure about helping the League. What she did know however, was that her loyalty was to her family. She just hoped Shina led them to victory as she always did.
