At least the burgers at Blood Burgers were so yummy and delicious. It was one of Cody's favorite places in hell of all time to visit. His food was decent as always, but he was a little surprised a little Hellhound girl like Misty ate her overly large burger with a few gulps. Yet again, Hellhounds can be one of the biggest eaters in this accursed domain. "That was yummy." said Cody. "Thanks for that Misty, but I have to get back to Loona's apartment now." He was about to walk away but he was stopped by the peculiar Hellhound girl, who appeared in front of him.
"Wait!" she said. "I still wanna do something fun with you, Cody."
Looking more reluctant, Cody didn't want to stay out of that apartment any longer. His demon friends were probably all done killing that talentless hack Beyonce right now, and they could all come back down here to Hell any second now. Cody didn't even want to imagine the look on Loona's face when she would be angry or infuriated at him. "Look, you're a cool girl." said Cody, "but i don't want Loona to be mad at me for not staying at the apartment like she wanted me too. I'm probably in trouble enough as it is." he slightly looked away. "It's nothing personal, but Loona can get really mean when she is angry. She even kicked a baby in his carriage as high as Jupiter. What he said just made Misty laugh and giggle.
"That's actually pretty funny!" Misty said, wiping a tear from her eye as she stopped laughing. "I know i shouldn't laugh, but that's funny." as soon as she kept her composure, she added, "look, i know you're a goody two-shoes."
"No i'm not." Cody said. "No one's perfect."
"Fair enough, but that's not the point, i really like you and I want to hang out with you. And besides, what Loona doesn't know won't hurt her, right?"
"Yeah, but I don't want to be a bad kid. I'm only nine."
"So am I, genius." Misty knocked on his head three times. "Hello?"
"Ow! Not so hard!" Cody rubbed the top of his head.
"Oh yeah, i forgot humans have sensitive baby skin." The female hellhound remembered correctly. "But come on, please? I wanna go to the Taxidermy emporium."
"I think i know where you're talking about." Cody pointed. "been there before."
"So you'll come with me then?" Misty had a hopeful smile on her face.
"well... it's not that i don't want to hang out with you, it's just-" before Cody could finish, he saw Misty give him the "puppy dog" face, and what's worse was; she was a dog-like demon after all. Her lips were even quivering like she was about to cry with tears in her eyes. Cody hated seeing people cry, and he would never hurt anyone intentionally. At last, Cody sighed and replied: "Ok, ok, we'll go to the taxidermy place together.
Instantly, the tears in Misty's eyes immediately went away. "Yay!" she exclaimed. "Come on." she grabbed the human boy by the hand and she ran with him. The boy forgotten how strong hellhounds can be, and his body was flailing behind him like a flag in the wind. admittedly, when they both got there, it was a little nice for Cody to be back at this place (Despite how all the stuffed demonic animals were looking as creepy as ever). Misty then made a big exhale like she had just woke up on a nice morning. "Fuck it feels so good to be back at this place."
"I know." Cody looked a little uncomfortable. He gave a nervous smile and he slowly walked with Misty to see all of these stuffed taxidermy. And he thought stuffed taxidermy on Earth was unnerving. This took things to a whole different level. If Loona was here, then she would make things so much easier for him, and help him be more at ease with this kind of fucked up place. Nevertheless, he went along with Misty to look at some of the weird things stuffed within. One thing that really caught Cody's eye was the lesser hellhound that he saw before the last time he was here. That Lesser Hellhound trophy or stuffed replica of one always gave Cody the creeps.
"Oh yeah," Misty recognized that kind of taxidermy. "Lesser hellhounds, me and my kinds' more... primal cousins."
"Loona mentioned them to me before."
"Wouldn't surprise me." the female hellhound girl said. "Satan himself tried to help educate them, but somehow, it was never successful. They're like... wolves or dogs that you find on Earth. Too... wild." she looked on the floor, wondering why the lesser hellhounds would behave like this.
"Sounds like I need to stay away from them." said Cody.
"Yep. Stay away from lesser hellhounds at all costs. They'll tear toy limb from limb."
"That doesn't sound surprising." Cody meekly said.
He walked with Misty down to some more taxidermy. The kid remembered how terrifying these taxidermy looked, even if they were not real. Some things would be too scary to look at, even in a picture.
Poor Cody didn't even want to want to imagine meeting most of these real life creatures in nature down here (maybe except for the smaller ones and ones that don't shoot acid or are very venomous).
About fifteen minutes passed and Cody was already acquitted with this place again. "I never get bored of this place." Misty remarked.
"Yeah this was fun... kind of." Cody admitted.
"Cody I gotta admit, for a human, you're a fun guy."
The human boy blushed. "Thanks. You make it sound like you hate humans."
"No, no, I don't hate humans. If I did, I would just eat you up in a few seconds." Misty reassured him. "You probably wouldn't even taste good anyway."
"Thanks a lot." Cody rolled his eyes. "So, I gave you what you wanted. It's not that I didn't want to hang out with you. You just came... at a bad time, that's all."
"Well I come at bad times all the time, so? Sometimes I see my friends in bad times that they probably don't even want me around. Do I even fucking exist?"
"Well you know many demons like the Goetias." Cody pointed.
"Ugh, don't even get me started on those rich fucks. Thinking they're better than all of us because of their power and money. I know that hellhounds are kinda low on the pyramid, but oh my Satan."
Suddenly, Cody's phone rang and he answered it, recognizing who it was. "Hello?"
"Cody? You there?" Said Loona
"Yeah. How was getting rid of Beyoncé?"
"Oh ho it was one of the most satisfying kills ever, next to Sheryl Leach. We got another trophy on us, baby."
"That's good." Said Cody. "When are you coming home?"
"In about five minutes."
Cody's heart began racing and it sank to his feet. "Oh my god." He breathed.
"Why is something wrong?"
"Nope! Nothing wrong."
"Ok. We just need to get rid of our trail so no one in Earth will find out."
"Got it, Loona, see you soon.
"Bye."
In a very fast pacing, Cody said: "sorry Misty, I have to be back by five minutes or Loona will kill me. Nice meeting you, bye!" Then he stormed out of the taxidermy emporium, making Misty and some other shoppers surprised.
"Wow." said Misty, "he runs fast for a human."
The human boy was running as fast as he could back to the apartment of Loona and Blitzo, and it was already ten blocks from this place.
He had to stop at nothing so that he wouldn't get in trouble. Suddenly, he tripped on a crack on the sidewalk and scraped his right knee, but he didn't care. He needed to get back home. For that; Cody got back up in an instant and continued his face against time.
On the tracks, Cody was halfway there already, and some sweat was already forming on his forehead. When he got to the apartment building, he started running on the stairs (since everyone knows stairs are faster than elevators).
He tripped again and then he was at the front door, and opened it, revealing that no one was home yet. He felt so relieved and got himself a shower so that the other's wouldn't notice his sweat.
Everything turned out ok for him after all. Cody wouldn't get in trouble and everything would be just fine for him when Loona gets back in a minute or two.
Speaking of which, a random portal suddenly opened and it was the IMP gang themselves, with the decapitated head of Beyoncé herself, looking pale and horrified from all that blood loss.
"We're back!" Blitzo sang. "And another trophy to remember for the rest of our lives!"
