Bell understood what the dungeon was, to many it was an adventure a thing that they could explore and see some things and creatures they have never seen before, for others it was simply a way to make Valis, the items dropped by monsters upon their deaths depending on which level it was would gain a person some pretty good Valis.

Others on the other hand considered it a way to get stronger and test the limits of what they could achieve and how strong and skilled a person can be, and yet another considered it the crucible that is meant to test the worth of humanity, given by the gods as a test of their worth as a species.

To Bell it was the same thing every single time, some of the sights were nice, and finding and defeating new monsters would be something he knows he would find enjoyable, but at the moment he knew he needed to do two things, beat as many goblins and kobolds as he could to gather enough monster cores and item drops to buy at least make some Valis, and to get to the fifth floor where he had a date with destiny, and a very pissed off minotaur.

The dungeons were not like a small house with the size of a couple of rooms, no, they were massive, and the inside was lit by everything from glowing crystals to the moss that grew on the walls, the very way that monsters were born from the walls also acted as a means to illuminate the dungeon, and because of it, there was no danger of ever running out of monsters.

Bell knew how to defeat these monsters and do so in a matter where he could get as many fangs and teeth as possible, some people would wonder why the hell would they use such things, in truth these items were used by many shops in the city, so they were also a good source of income, well Bell used these first four floors as a warm-up routine, get the blood pumping for lower floors, the lower a person went in the dungeon the smarter and more dangerous the monsters that person was liable to find.

No one has met one before but some believe that on the lowest floors of the dungeon is a city full of monsters who built their own civilization much as humans did in Orario and consider the monsters on the higher floors to be their protectors against invading humans.

At the end of the day it was a nice fantasy and thought experiment, but Bell had little time for that, as he fought his way through goblins and kobolds to go down each level until he made it to the fifth level, where he knew he would meet both Ais and the minotaur, he honestly was not expecting many people but as he reached the fifth floor he met three men, Cloud, a good friend of Tifa, Zack a good friend of Aerith, and Sephiroth, who to the best of his knowledge only had Cloud and Zack as his only friends.

"So Bell came for some exercise killing some monsters well isn't that nice, not that these guys will be any problem for you, but you really should consider having a supporter or at least a decent backpack to carry all the items you will have to pick up as you go deeper to the lower floors, contrary what people think floors don't get smaller the deeper you go, in instead they grow bigger, in fact, we saw a party from the Loki Familia that was hunting and killing minotaurs on a deeper floor. To them, those horned humanoid bulls are the same as what you feel fighting and killing off a goblin."

"Cloud, Sephiroth, and I decided to go to the Hostess of fertility and call it a day, we can turn over our stuff later, we are just going to have a meal, and go home, speaking of which have you finally awakened your keyblade?" Bell told Cloud that he hasn't, he has tried many times to make his keyblade appear but nothing happens, Sephiroth simply said that he just needs to find a worthy enemy to fight, and when his life is truly in danger and his life is on the life, then the keyblade will come to give him the help he so desperately needs at the time."

Sephiroth joked and told him that he described the keyblade like it was a hero there to rescue someone, and Zack without even smiling said sometimes it is, it appears when you least expect it and needed most, come keyblade users even swear that the keyblade has a mind and soul of their own, some call them weapons, some called them tools, and others they are trusted partners that they have to face against evil.

As Bell went towards a lower floor, it was pretty obvious that these Kobold and Goblins were getting easier and easier to deal with, if he truly must face a worthy opponent to be able to manifest his keyblade well these monsters were not even a decent warm-up, they were pathetic, not exactly worthy enemies. He even stopped using his dagger and sword and killed them with just his fist, it made things a little interesting but not by much since he could kill a goblin with the slightest flick on the head.

The more he collected the more he realized that he still technically had his gamers powers so he decided to place the drop items into his inventory, he concentrated and sure enough, he found the settings in the inventory and set it to auto-collect any items and cores from monsters he killed.

That made things easier as he went to a lower floor hoping that as he goes to lower floors the enemies will increase in strength, he knows that at lower floors are truly stronger monsters but as of yet due to both his rank and the way the guild administrators do things he was not permitted to go deeper than level five. He could technically go deeper but he wouldn't hear the end of it from his dungeon advisor, he could practically hear her scream that adventurers don't need to be so reckless in their adventures.

Soon enough he found that he was getting closer to the place where he would meet that minotaur and his first meeting with Ais, as he stepped he could feel that monsters were getting fewer and fewer as he finally reached the fifth floor, something was happening and it was clearly scaring the monsters.

The entire thing was something he was looking forward to, to find and fight against a worthy enemy that he could put his all and maybe just maybe finally be able to grasp his keyblade which has been a source of great concern and negative feelings. He had gone under the ritual that he would gain a keyblade from a keyblade master, but not being able to call it, or even know what it looks like was a constant subconscious fear and source of anxiety for him, if the ritual didn't fail, then the only reason he couldn't call for it was that he was the one that had failed.

He honestly expected to see one minotaur that would chase him down throughout the floor of the fifth level of the dungeon, much to his shock and horror however somehow the Loki Familia didn't have one of them escape their little hunt of these monsters but an entire pack of them, one of these was terrifying to any rookie adventurer, but a whole pack of them was horror that was closer to nightmarish that anything else to anyone else.

His dagger was already worn from fighting the monsters to get to the fifth floor, and at best he only had two of them, he tried his best to kill the minotaurs but in reality, at most he could do is to move and push them in ways that they caused each other harm enough so that he could quickly finish them off, but it was clear that as the numbers became to grow less in number, he would no longer be able to use them against each other.

The part that was truly horrible however was when the surviving minotaurs would pick up the cores of the dead ones and eat them, gaining all the skill and experience from that once growing stronger, and because he had not actually killed them his auto collect ability was not picking up the cores.

They seemed to double in levels after they ate one of them, and after a long time there was only one last minotaur out of the entire pack and that one as the remaining one ate the core from the previous one, which means it was extremely stronger than when they first started fighting, to Bell he wanted to scream at them for being cannibals, but he soon realized they might be doing this as a means to survive, and humans have been known to do that.

As he fought the last of the minotaurs the skin on it was so tough that his dagger couldn't make a single scratch, what is worse his last dagger was chipping, and as the minotaur attacked him the dagger broke into pieces but as this happened out of nowhere a light was seen, and somehow he was holding a weapon he had never seen before and used that weapon to try and beat the minotaur into oblivion, but his final attack was cut short.

It seems that while the minotaur and Bell were both focused on fighting each other, neither noticed that someone had come right behind the minotaur and as Bell was striking what should be the killing blow on his opponent, this person used a sword and sliced the minotaur is such a way that Bell was covered in head to toe in the blood of the minotaur.

The shock was so bad that as this person came to see him he let go of his weapon and it turned into light that went into his blood-covered ruined light leather armored chest. "Sorry I saw you fighting the Minotaur and thought you were going to die so I jumped in, I have to apologize, My Familia and I were killing the spawned Minotaurs on the 15th floor when they suddenly spawned when we were heading back to the surface but a pack of them escaped and I went up here to prevent the minotaurs from hurting anyone. By the time I got here, there was only one left, I saw you killed one, I wonder who killed the other minotaurs in that pack." And then would leave you behind."

Bell couldn't help but laugh covered in blood. which made him look like an absolute maniac, if anyone who didn't know what he just went through saw him, "It is quite simple, I am officially only level one, but I am far stronger than most people give me credit for, so I was sure I could take one of these minotaurs by myself, in fact, I was only expecting to find one, not an entire pack of them."

He smiled at Ais. "Somehow they can tell levels just like I can, and seeing my strength, they became so desperate to try and survive they even went as far as to devour the cores of their fallen, cannibalism to be certain, but they must have felt it was the only way for at least one to survive, that is the one you saw me fight against."

Ais looked surprised at what he just heard, "I had to fight countless monsters on the second, third, and fourth floors, making sure not to come to this one, now until I knew for certain that I was not going to grow any stronger, as you know the only way to level up is to defeat a monster higher level that you are or achieve something that is practically a miracle."

"My friends taught me some good things, and even let me use abilities that turn out the world into a sort of game, I gain the ability to store many things inside my mind, see things that no one can see such as levels as a visual representation of their strengths, weaknesses, and skills, I began working for months to do this with a probationary dungeon license, but sadly this time it seems this minotaur incident will not help me rise in level. You will more than likely be given all the credit for saving me."

Ais looked furious and asked why wouldn't they believe he was able to kill the minotaur and ended up covered in blood during the fight, and Bell told her that it was essentially unbelievable to anyone, one look at him that is all it takes and nobody would believe him capable of defeating a goblin much less a minotaur by himself.

"I went to every Familia, even yours, and I got nothing but told to get lost, insults upon insults, and had a door slammed on my face more times than I can count, one of your Familia members told me a pathetic loser like me shouldn't waste their time to not bother looking for them if I was worth it, they would look for me, not that it would ever happen."

Bell told her that in this city there was only one goddess that showed him pity and offered to help him when he needed it the most, so he joined her Familia, it was an insult I will never forget, how can a simple ordinary person become strong enough to defeat monsters without a deity's blessing and obtain Falna?

"At first my only friends were Zack, Cloud, and Sephiroth, sure Sephiroth can come across as a bit cold-hearted, Cloud is a bit of a battle junkie, and Zack is an adrenaline junkie. They didn't however make it to their levels without knowing a thing or two, so they helped me by teaching and training and giving me advice on things. They are some of my best friends, they are practically my brothers."

Ais decided to change topics, since many of the things Bell spoke of were rather odd, "Aside from that, how are you feeling? anything that feels wrong?" Bell told her that other than feeling tired, and quite a few bruises and minor lacerations from the fighting, he was also feeling a bit dizzy and more than a little nauseous, the blood of a minotaur is bad enough, but he was currently coated with blood from close to a dozen of them, and that was making him more than a little hard for him to actually walk.

That is when her group finally reached their location and began to wonder where the hell were the items and cores, Ais told them that one of the minotaurs cannibalized them and the items she would think Bell already had since he killed most of them himself, before the last one was far too much for him to kill by himself, hence why he is covered from head to toe with minotaur blood. Bete immediately wanted to call bullshit on the idea that such a wimpy-looking guy was strong enough to kill one, hell in his opinion it was pure luck that he survived at all.

Bete walked over towards them and was saying that more than likely Ais took care of the minotaurs and the guy was trying to act cool in front of her until Bete got a good look at his face and paled for a second, Bell on the other hand as he said that he was having a hard enough time walking but now there were a group of people who themselves were covered in minotaur blood which caused him to simply faint from the combined noxious smells.

Ais saw his almost fall and quickly rushed and with a swift movement picked him up, asking the man in charge to be able to take Bell back up to the surface which of course she got permission from a very stern-looking elf lady. Bette walked over to her and looked at the way she was carrying Belle in what seems to be a bridal carry.

"Look I might not like him, but please take him to the clinic on the first floor to make sure he is alright otherwise my sister will nag me for days, and if that wasn't bad enough that girl named Rose from the guild will be pissed at us, so be careful with him."

Ais quickly asked him why is his sister so concerned with him, "Funny thing, he met her a couple of months ago and somehow he caught her interest so badly that she licked him on his cheek, and just as it happened Rose saw that and proceeded to lick him too, Bell might not know about werewolf customs, but according to our clan two werewolf females have marked him as their future mate, so he better recover because he has two of my clan hunting his ass to make him the father of their pups."

That is something Bete should have kept to himself as he realized this as soon as he saw Ais glaring at him as she carried Bell away in a way that made nose to the fact that pain will be involved when he pays for that comment at a later date.

Ais however hurried up the floors at such speed that even the monsters who would jump at the chance to attack anyone not carrying a weapon felt such things from her that made them afraid enough to give him all the space she needed to walk away as quickly as possible and in some floors, some monsters let out a sigh of relief as she left the floor.

The clinic otherwise called the dungeon hospital by some people as a joke was actually a part of the adventurers guild, Bete's wife Rene actually was a nurse in that place because of two main reasons, first, she was so tough that any adventure into the dungeon would be a piece of cake for her, and two, that as a nurse she could help injured people, but really it was because the guild wanted her and the extremely powerful and skilled medical personnel of the clinic to be the last line of defense keeping dangerous monsters from escaping out of the dungeon.

As Ais walked up to her she looked shocked to see Bell being carried by her in that manner but what she found worse is that Bell was unconscious making her worry that something terrible had happened to him. Ais placed him on a bed and the doctors began to examine him. Ais quickly told her everything she saw and what Bell told her which made the nurse relax as she waited for the doctor to finish his examination of Bell.

"I would love to stick around and hear if there is anything I can do for Bell, but I need to get back to my Familia, and there is a certain werewolf moron I need to punish for embarrassing me with his comments." Rene simply smiled and told her not to worry she would not move till her future mate was perfectly fine, and if the person was who she thought it was her only request is that she gives that person an extra punch in the gut.

As Bell finally woke up he found himself being taken care of by not one but three female werewolf ladies, Rene was checking his pulse, Luna wanted to hear more about how the hell minotaurs got strong, and Rose wanted to know exactly what the hell Bell was doing in that particular floor.

He was told that he needs to eat some food and drink some juice before he could be discharged from the clinic, Bell told them that the main reason that he needed to go to the fifth floor was that he wanted to fight a monster that gave him enough of a challenge to allow him to raise in level.

The fact is that at most he was only going to fight a single tough floor boss and he didn't expect he would end up fighting a pack of minotaurs, so after getting a blood bath by an upgraded minotaur, as far as why he was in the clinic he had no clue why he was there in the first place. That is when Rose told him Ais actually picked him up and carried him to the clinic while going up the dungeon floors.

Bell told them that he was grateful for what they had done for him and asked him what exactly was wrong with him, that is when Rene told him that the doctor said he was suffering from basically sleep deprivation, malnutrition, and the effects of being exposed to the blood of the dead minotaurs. He got up but he was told that Eina Tulle wanted to talk to him about what he just went through.

As he left the tower and headed toward the main guild building, he entered the building seeing Eina writing reports by one of the desks he knew that the way she was behaving that she was angry as all hell, as he walked up to her desk he knew that he was in for it but he was not going to try and make excuses he would man up and own up his own actions.

He touched the desk and asked Eina if they could talk, which caused Eina to continue to ignore him while she continued to write the same damn report something about it must be really important that she felt that she needed to finish it before she even turned and looked at him, and she was upset enough that she was doing it by hand.

After ten minutes Bell had enough, he simply slammed his fist on the desk and looked at Eina who looked absolutely pissed. "Eina I was told you wanted to talk with me, and here I am, if your paperwork is so much more important than our little discussion, maybe I can come back another day would that be good for you? Goodness knows I would hate to be a problem for you."

That turned out to be not such a smart thing to tell her, as she got up from her desk and she walked over to one of the rooms where he would often have his little lessons about monsters and the dungeon with her, as she signaled for him to enter without saying a word he knew he messed up.

As he sat down on the chair where he usually sat down for these lectures it looked like he was in for another lecture, "Do I have a problem, well that is an interesting question Mr. Bell Carnel. why don't we discuss it?" Bell knew that she only used his full name not when he stepped on shit, but rather he was swimming and he was up to his neck in it.

"I told you time and time again to go as far as the fourth level of the dungeon not to go any deeper since you are already pushing it since you are still level one, and what do I hear from not one but three werewolves that work in the guild? That Bell was just carried up bridal carry by the bloody sword of Orario up four floors after she apparently fought and killed a stronger-than-normal minotaur while saving your ass, which you were trying to fight with your daggers, did I miss anything?"

Bell mentioned that she didn't say anything about the other eleven minotaurs that came with it, and the fact that he killed eleven of them but they ended up getting stronger as the surviving minotaurs are the cores of the ones that he just killed. "You are right, forgot about that part, where you were fighting not one but an entire baker's dozen, with daggers, that as I read in the report you just saw me finish broke into pieces smaller than a shirt button. Don't you see why I am angry, why I am fuming mad?"

She walked over to Bell and pulled him up from his seat so that he could look into her eyes, "Do you want to know what is my problem? My problem is that you did something that could have very well gotten you killed, you got any idea how worried I was when I heard that you were in the dungeon clinic, what the hell, you could have died had Ais not been there." She was actually leaning on Bell and sobbing as her face was pressed against his coat. He realized that she was suffering because she was actually afraid that he could have died. "Bell, how many times did I tell you Adventurers seek adventure but they shouldn't do so recklessly."

Bell honestly was sorry for what he did and he simply had no alternative but to admit it, "Eina, I reached my growth cap, I was not getting any stronger no matter how many times my goddess checked, the only alternative was for me to level up, and to do that I had to fight a monster that is higher level than I was, I figured that a monster on the fifth level would be good enough, I honestly didn't expect that I would end up fighting a pack of minotaurs. But I need to grow stronger, if I don't become strong enough I will not be able to protect the people that I care about, which include you, and seeing these people die would be far worse than my death."
