Minerva McGonagall headmistress of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry looked up from her files when there was a knock at the door. "Enter", she asked and laid her quill aside. A women in her late forties entered her office, her dark hair had some gray strikes by now and she looked a little exhausted, probably it wasn't easy for her to be here. "Minerva it's good to see you" said the woman and smiled weakly. "Prudence I'm glad you came", Minerva said and pointed at the chair in front of her. Prue took a seat and looked up at the portraits behind Minerva, right opposite her where the ones of Albus and Severus. "I thought you would bring Chara with you." "She's at the leaky caldron. I wanted to know first what this is about", Prue answered. Minerva nodded she understood that the girl was very important to her former student. "Well as born Black you're daughter has the privilege to go to school here." Prue sighed and closed her hand around the ring which she wore on a chain around her neck. She had expected something like this, after all she had insisted that her daughter wore the last name of her father.

After Sirius' death she had returned to America, not without promising Remus that they would stay in touch, because he was very concerned about his friend. The first weeks back Prue hadn't taken care of herself and barley eaten but worked a lot. When she had collapsed her sisters had taken her to the hospital, where the doctors had told her she had to take better care of herself or she would lose her baby. As she had heard that Prue had cried, first because she was so overwhelmed and second because a part of Sirius would live on in her child. Secretly Prue had hoped that she would get a boy who would look exactly like his father. The day Chara was born had been one of the most beautiful days of her life, and Prue had fallen in love with her little star the first time she looked at her out of her grey eyes, which were so similar to her father's. Prue hadn't give up the hope that Chara maybe would go to school in Ilvermory, after all she had been born in America, but because Sirius' family was one of the oldest in England she had counted on it that her hope would be destroyed sooner or later.

"Would she start school this autumn?" Prue asked her former teacher. She shook her head. "No, next year, because it's a little bureaucratic to transfer her application here and I don't think we would manage this before school starts." "So Chara would be more than a year older than her classmates", Prue noticed. "That would be the disadvantage of the whole thing but she would be in the same year as Edward Lupin." Prue blinked confused, before she realized who Minerva meant. Of course she had written Remus that she had gotten a child. He on the other side had written her that he had married Tonks and some months later she learned that the young auror was pregnant from the werewolf. Proudly he had send her a letter with the picture of the little boy then the contact had broken off. "Remus' boy", she concluded and the old with nodded. Prue sighed and got up. "I'll speak with Chara and let you know what we decide." Prue nodded at the headmaster and left the office.

As Prue entered the room in the leaky cauldron which she shared with her daughter, the elven year old sat on the bed drawing. It was one of her favorite past times and she was very talented, from where she got that talent Prue didn't now. "Hi sweety", Prue said and kissed Chara's temple. "Hi Mom", Chara said completely focused on her drawing. "What are you drawing?" Prue wanted to know and sat on the bed. "Dad", her daughter said curtly. Even tough Chara only knew her father from pictures and the stories of her mother she always got him very good on her pictures and she often drew him. Prue smiled as she looked at the black white drawing of her loved one. "That's great, but I have to talk to you." Chara looked at her mother and saw the serious expression so she laid her carbon pen aside and turned to her. "What's going on?" "It's about your studies. As you know I talked to Professor McGonagall today and she told me that through your father you had a place at Hogwarts if you wanted." Chara's gray eyes lit up as she heard that. "Really?" she asked exited. "Yeah but there's a little catch, you would be starting school next year." Chara pulled her lower lip between her teeth something she did often when she was thinking. If she took the offer she could get closer to her dad but she would be older than the other girls in her dorm. On the other hand the older students would be in the common room as well or could be found somewhere else so it would be no problem to befriend people at her age. "Mom", Chara started and looked up at her mother. "You'd like to do it don't you?" Prue asked, she knew her daughter well enough to know she wouldn't be stopped by something like age. Chara nodded. "You've told me so much about the school. How you met dad and you're other friends there and I would like to see it. Are you mad now?" Prue laughed and shook her head. "Of course not sweety as long as you don't get in so much trouble as your father everything's fine." "You've loved dad for his sense of humor mom", Chara laughed and turned back to her drawing. Prue smiled and kissed Chara on her dark locks. She got up to write a letter to Minerva that they would except her offer. "Mom", she heard Chara ask just when she was tying the letter to the owl's leg. "Yeah?" "Do you think dad would be proud of me?" Prue turned to Chara. "Of course he would love you more than anything else and would have done everything for you." A little smile appeared on Chara's face. "Thanks mom I love you." "Love you too sweety love you too."
