Everyone, thank you so much for wanting this fic to still continue ^^ I was afraid not many want it back, but after seeing House of the Dragon, I realize how much I missed GOT.

Thank you, everyone, for sticking with me on the ride!

Jared had heard the tales of Jon Snow, the King in the North, and the Dragon Queen, Daenerys Targaryen. His mother told him.

And so did Rhaegar and Lyanna.

His reign didn't last long, but his mother said he was a good King. Perhaps the best during her time alive. He was honourable and brave, someone who truly cares for the well-being of his people. And the one who went toe to toe with the Night King courageously. He can now see that same person in Rhaegar.

And as for Queen Daenerys, she didn't know much about her, but she said that the Dragon Queen assisted this Long Night in the past. With numerous armies and dragons, something no one has ever since for such a long time.

And to think such a King must be exiled, and he killed the Dragon Queen blew his mind off. No wonder Rhaegar and Lyanna hated Westeros.

Now, the tales he had heard of, the people he had heard of before, be it his mother, Rhaegar and Lyanna, or other people, are right in front of him. Alive and well.

If they are here, then his father must be here too!

"State your name," the King commanded with so much authority, his strong Northern accent reminded him of Rhaegar. This is what he imagined a King would appear like.

He swallowed, calm down. The young Lannister took a deep breath and bent his knee, his eyes looking at the ground, "My name is Jared Stone. I come here under the instructions of Ser Jon Connington, to give you information about the Golden Company."

There were murmurs around him, but not of the Golden Company nor the war ahead. But the existence of Ser Connington.

"Ser Jon Connington? The man who was exiled?"

"He's supposed to be dead!"

"That is impossible!"

Then the murmurs broke to a growl.

"He's lying! Ser Connington has long perished!" His heart sank, I told you, old man!

"We should kill him!"

"ENOUGH!" King Jon roared, silencing the armies around him, just like a true dragon. Jared still did not dare to look at him, "Young lad, Jared," he slowly looked up to face the King. At first, he could've sworn he was looking at Rhaegar, but this man looked older and broader than his friend. There's this presence that Jon Snow gave that is authoritative and honoured, and he guesses that he'll be a better King to serve under. "Where were you from?"

Jared took a deep breath slowly, still kneeling on the ground, hoping to show where his loyalty lies, "I came from the port of White Harbor," he spoke, "I…we..," Can he say anything about Torrhen? No, they won't believe him. Not even Ser Connington believed him. He must think of something else, "We arrived here for a few days, and Ser Connington believed now is the right time for me to find you. So, here I am."

"How do we know that you're not one of them," an old man asked, and when he turned his head to the source, he found it to be Ser Davos! Of course, he has been loyal to King Jon since the beginning.

He scrambled through his pockets, searching for the item that he was given, "He gave me this to show you," he pulled out the Targaryen pendent, lifting it up to his face to show it to him, "Prince Rhaegar Targaryen gave this to the Kingsguard that he trusted, and Ser Connington was one of them before he was exiled. As a sign of friendship."

Ser Davos stepped closer to him, looking at him and then back to the pendant. He took the pendant and closely inspected it before turning to King Jon, "Looks old," he said, "made of Valyrian steel." At the mention of the material, everyone began murmuring. He then turned to another, "Ser Jaime, will you do the honour to inspect this piece?"

Jaime? There's only one name he had heard of from his mother and anyone else.

Amongst the crowd, another person stood out, a man with growing golden hair, shaved beard that is clearly growing, and a golden hand. His face though….appears similar. Is he….

Ser Jaime was looking at him, Jared couldn't tell what he was thinking, for his expression wasn't readable. He then took the pendant and inspected it, looking back and forth, "Aye, Prince Rhaegar once gave us the same pendant as this."

"Where did yours go then?" the old man asked.

"Do you think my father or King Robert would allow me to hold such possession?" he replied in a rather sarcastic way, mother always said that he was a mouthful sometimes. He returned the pendant to Ser Davos, "But yes, I once possessed that pendant before King Robert wanted it destroyed. As a token of friendship from Prince Rhaegar himself." He turned to look at him, which made Jared nervous.

He never knew his father, only stories of him. And to think that he's finally right in front of him is surreal. Did Rhaegar and Lyanna tell his father about him?

"It seems that we are going to need a further discussion," King Jon said, "I want all the councils gathered near my tent, we shall hear what this man has to say," he turned to his father and another elderly man, "Ser Jaime, Ser Jorah, take this man's sword and escort him with us."

In another world, if someone were to take his sword, he'd strike anyone down. For his sword was a gift from his mother. A memory of her before she died.

But seeing that the one who will take his sword is his father…

"Your sword, boy," his father gestured his hand towards him.

Jared nodded, he got up from his feet and reluctantly unclasp his sword from his waist. The Valyrian sword felt heavier than usual as if knowing that it won't be in his hands for some time.

But….this is his father. The Valyrian steel melted from Widow's Wail is one with Oathkeeper. A part of his father is in this sword.

He gave the sword to him, and when he looked at the eyes of Jaime Lannister, that's when he can truly see him. But before he could feel anything towards his father, making things more suspicious to the rest, he shook his head and gave him his sword.

His father merely nodded, "Come with us now," he grabbed his shoulder in a vice grip, and so did Ser Jorah. Jared did not say anything and followed his lead. He's unsure whether his father knew about him nor what he thinks of him, he's just going to have to follow along first.

As they were walking, he spotted two pairs of familiar people standing by watching him.

Rhaegar and Lyanna.

He fought his joy to finally meet them, only pursing his lips. The young Lannister did not nod nor give any indication that he knew them, for it might jeopardize everything.

The twins seem to understand the situation and intention as well, and walked along, following their parents.

"Eyes ahead, boy," Ser Jaime murmured beside him, "We don't want unwanted attention now, do we? Especially since you and those two aren't from around here."

He knows about me! Jared's heart leapt, it seems that they had to tell them about him. And thank goodness they did, or the King would probably sack and dismiss him.

When they arrived at the simple tent, Ser Jorah closed the flap and they all gathered in a circle.

Ser Jaime firmly pushed him forward, where everyone's eyes are on him. All the important people are here, why is he nervous now? When his eyes turned to Lya, who is next to her brother, she gave him an encouraging smile. Her fist clenches a little forward, giving him support. Jared pursed his lips, acknowledging her support.

"Jared Stone," the King called, making his eyes turn to him, "Tell us who you are, and why are you here. And I want full information, including whom your mother and father were.."

It seems that he knows, he thought. And he wants to know if he's telling the truth. Jared nodded, he took a deep breath, "My name is Jared Stone," he said, "My mother was Ser Brienne of Tarth, and Ser Jaime Lannister."

He was expecting shocks or questions from them all, questioning his parentage. But instead, everyone just kept looking at him. He couldn't tell what they were all thinking, which makes him even more nervous.

Queen Daenerys, whom he just realized that her pregnancy is showing, finally spoke, "Continue, Ser Jared."

Ser? Jared blinked in confusion, but he didn't want to question Her Grace. And so, as per her command, he continued, "I was from King's Landing, with Ser Connington. We managed to sneak in as guards and heard Harry Strickland's plans."

"No, we can discuss that later," King Jon waved his hands dismissively. "Who are you, truly?"

Jared swallowed, now he knows why Rhaegar and Lyanna are straightforward when it comes to conversations. They're your parents, alright. "What…." he cleared his throat, "What would you like to know about me?"

"Where did you really come from? And why are you here?" Queen Daenerys asked, they both have the same question, it appears.

Jared clasped his hands, and looked down a moment, "I'm…." he swallowed the lump in his throat, before looking back at him, "Perhaps you may have known who I really am….." the young Lannister pursed his lips, "I'm not from around here. Nor of this world…. I am from another time, to join your quest to take back King's Landing," he looked up to the King, hoping he'd understand what he meant.

"You came here alone?" he asked.

He shook his head, "I came here with eight friends, four humans included," he can hear his uncle Tyrion chuckling, "But we were separated, and I went beyond the Red Seas to find Ser Connington."

"Who are these eight friends of yours," Queen Daenerys asked.

Jared first looked a Queen Daenerys and King Jon, and then his eyes turned to the twins. "Rhaegar and Lyanna," he said, "Along with their cousin and friend, Robb and Jon. Two dragons, a wolf, and an eagle came with us too."

"What are their dragons' names? Their wolves and their eagle?" The Dragon Queen demanded again.

"Balerion and Daenys," Jared answered with confidence, "Greywind is their wolf, and their eagle, Torrhen."

The King and Queen nodded, but it seems that the interrogation is not done yet. Queen Daenerys opened her mouth again, "And why is it that you are here in this world?"

The young Lannister looked at her, "Because the Long Night is upon us again. And this time, the Chosen Champion of Azor Ahai can stop them once and for all," he answered before inhaling again, "and those chosen ones are you and King Jon, Your Grace. The Song of Ice and Fire."

King Jon and Queen Daenerys looked at him with blank expressions that he was unable to read. How much did Rhaegar and Lyanna tell them about their appearance here? Did he need to be more specific?

His eyes turned to the others as far as his eyes can turn. They too didn't give out much, did they believe him? Do they know too? "Forgive me, I know that I sound foolish…."

King Jon raised his palm, halting him from nonsense babbling, "I believe you, for my children told me of the same" he said, his heart sighing in relief, "And you have come at the right moment with whatever information you have for us to win this war."

Jared let out a small sigh of relief, he turned to his friends, who are smiling at him. Gods, it feels like a lifetime since they last saw each other. How long has it been? He turned back to their father, "Thank you, Your Grace. I will provide you with all the information you need to defeat Cersei," he bowed again, "I am yours to command."

He nodded, giving him a warm smile, "I appreciate your determination to serve me, and so, I would like to hear everything you have about the Golden Company, and of King's Landing state. Leave no stones unturned."

He nodded, and he began his tale.

Somewhere on the outskirts of White Harbor...

Baron was never comfortable with night shifts, so why did he accept it?

Right, because Lord Harry is a complete fuck, he grumbled to himself as he walked around the scorpions, taking his helm off and sighing exasperatedly.

Even when he was first recruited as a soldier of the Golden Company, night-time patrol isn't really his thing. Especially around the forest.

They all had loaded off their weapons and preparations off the ship and to the port. Now, they placed them all on the outskirts of White Harbor, and he was assigned to look after them, which he finds stupid.

All those training and he must take care of the damn weapons?

He's also not a night person, sleeping earlier is what he loved more than anything else. So why must he do these night shifts?

"You never did enjoy night shifts," a voice suddenly said behind him, making him whip back and draw his sword, "But even so, you mustered the courage and determination to not let the darkness come to you. And it seems, you have done so greatly." He saw a silhouette of a man, obscured in shadows under the dim brightness of the fire from the spear torches.

That voice…. sounds strangely familiar, coming from memory from a long time ago. But who? "Show yourself!" He gripped his sword firmly, ready to attack.

The shadow walked towards him slowly, "I mean you no harm, young Baron," the man raised his arms, "I come in peace, and as a friend."

"Who are you?" he demanded, not willing to take this lightly.

As the shadowy figure stepped into the light, that's when the young lad's breath hitched. Now, he knows why the voice sounds familiar.

For it belonged to his old mentor and leader, Ser Jon Connington!

"It cannot be…" he muttered under his breath, eyes wide as an owl, and he unconsciously lowered his sword.

"It has been far too long, my student," Ser Connington smiled at him, hands still raised as a sign of peace, "You have grown up to a fine young man, just as I hoped for when I trained you all those years ago."

Ser Connington was the only father figure he ever had since he was taken in under his wing as a child. He trained under him for nearly five years before he himself disappeared and never returned, captured and killed by strangers of another land.

At least, it's what Lord Harry said.

He shook his head, bringing his sword up again, "You were dead," Baron said, "Lord Harry said that you were captured and tortured by strangers beyond the Red Seas!"

"Did he?" he thought he heard him grumble, "Well, as you can see, I'm not dead."

But Baron isn't going to be fooled, "Prove it to me that you are who you claim to be."

Just as he expected, Ser Connington handled his conflict calmly. Just by his reaction, he was ready to believe that it was really him. But he needs to be sure.

"You were always so perceptive of yourself, yet you always find a way to prove to yourself that you can be a stronger warrior. From picking up your sword to a spear."

"Aye, I'm certain everybody knows that," Baron spat.

"That's true, but I was there to see you grow as a person, and as a warrior," he said calmly, just as he always remembered, "'While others search for what they can take, a true leader searches for what he can give," he recited the same advice he gave him all those years ago.

This made the young lad's heart warm, only one person in the entire Golden Company said this to him. When he lost his mentor, he felt alone. For no one was as honourable as him.

And to think that he's alive now….

"Ser Connington," Baron finally called him, "Is it really you?"

He nodded, "Not as young as I used to be, but aye. It's me."

"Well," the young lad unsheathed his sword and ran to him. He grabbed his arm and led him under a tree further from the light, "Should I be asking you how you came back from the dead?"

"Or the fact that that cunt Harry lied to you about my death?"

"Why would he do that?" he asked.

The elderly man shook his head, turning his head to the fire of the torch, "Ser Harry have always wanted my title. My position," he began, "And he took that moment during the battle at the Free Cities."

"That's…." so all this time, they lied. "So…what now? Are you here to claim your position back? Because it doesn't look like it's the right time now."

He shook his head, "That is not necessary, it's the war that we must think about now."

"Against the Bastard King and Dragon Whore? They will destroy us if we don't fight."

"And the Lannister Queen will be the death of us all if we side with her," he stepped forward, "We are fighting the wrong side. This Queen, Cersei, wants nothing more than power. Don't you see what she had done to her own people? She's willing to sacrifice them all for the sake of victory. She's making them her black sheep. Is this what I trained you to fight for?"

Baron wouldn't deny what he saw. It was a horrific thought, but he had a 'leader' to serve, for she paid them all just to do that. "Then, what do we do?"

"Do you trust me?" Ser Connington asked.

Without hesitation, the young lad nodded, "Since the start."

He nodded, "Good, then listen carefully. I have a plan."

"Go on," Baron began amplifying his hearing.

"I noticed that there are people here I used to be friends with, and I think I know how to bring them all to our side."

"Fine, and how do we do that?"

His old mentor grinned, and he began to speak.

"So, 25,000 armies right at the port of White Harbor," King Jon hummed at the table, where a map of Westeros is spread for everyone to see, "They are indeed not taking us lightly."

"Yes, Your Grace," Jared nodded, "They knew about two new dragons, and they have more scorpions to shoot them down. But Robb is doing his best to dismantle them all, rendering them useless. Though we can't promise that he'll be able to do it all, for he came in without anyone noticing."

"So then, we can still ambush them with dragons," Queen Daenerys said, "our dragons are ready."

"I will not risk the lives of our dragons," King Jon said, "If the Night King is able to take Viserion down, who knows what the Golden Company is capable of with one that can accurately bring down the dragon."

"But they may be the very thing that can tip the balance to our victory," Queen Daenerys argued, "I will not risk more bloodshed as well when I know our dragons are capable to help us."

"Our battle might be at sea, Daenerys," The King wasn't about to back out either, "We cannot help our dragons if they drown. We can swim, but the dragons?"

Jared now understands why Ser Barristan, at their time, said that they were both meant for each other. One is honourable, the other one is just. And it seems because they are meant for each other, they are not willing to back down if they believe that it's right for their people.

So, he decided to break the tension, he cleared his throat, "If I may, Your Graces," Jared spoke, making all eyes on him. The creeping anxiety came back again, but he tried to suppress it, "There may be another way around this without risking too much of your armies, or your dragons."

"And that is?" Queen Daenerys asked. "Speak your mind."

He nodded, "Ser Connington is trying to gather his former allies in the Golden Company. He said he was once close to them, and he's trying to get them to side with you."

"This again," He heard his dwarf uncle chime in, making him turn to him, "No offence, boy. But how do we know if he has enough allies on his side to win this war?"

"Ser Connington said he was ambushed by Lord Harry himself. Apparently, he was envious of his position, and got rid of him, faking his death and making it look like it was an accident." He recalled the story he told him; jealousy is always a typical human story.

"He's right, lad," King Jon said, "I appreciate your offer for this, but we are still going to need to prepare for the worst. This is a war."

He nodded understandingly, "Yes, Your Grace."

"I expect that there will be calvaries as well," King Jon deduced, "Lannisters are quite fond of that, don't they, Ser Jaime?"

"Yes, Your Grace," his father said in confirmation, "They have the advantage on that."

He nodded, "If they do, then we can send in the Wildlings and Dothrakis to counter them. They are quite skilled in dehorning."

"And I suppose Lord Royce and your Wildling leader, Tormund, will lead them?" Uncle Tyrion asked.

"Right," King Jon hummed, "I think we will give them just that."

They all discussed a lot more than they should have. But Jared found that they are nearing a conclusion, a light at the end of the tunnel despite the burden and pressure to follow. Jared, Rhaegar, and Lyanna stayed quiet, for they know that even though they are in this battle together, the people of this time must be the ones making the decision.

He didn't know how long they have been in the tent when Rhaegar chimed in, "Your Grace, are you alright?" Jared turned to the Queen, who looked pale and exhausted.

King Jon immediately turned towards his Queen, holding her arm, "I told you to stop if you don't feel well."

She shook her head, "I didn't even notice…."

King Jon pulled her closer to him, "I think it's enough for today, we have discussed more than we should," he then turned to his council, "And I expect you all know your roles as we discussed already." All the Lords nodded, "Good, get some rest. All of you. We are going to war in the morrow."

They all bowed and one by one, they left the tent. Jared too patiently waited for everyone to leave the tent before he himself left. He was the last to leave, in fact. Perhaps it's a force of habit he got from his mother, a protector's instinct, she would say.

When he exited the tent, he was immediately greeted by his friends, who are patiently waiting for him. They both looked at him with a smile at their entrance, "That was quite an entrance," the Rogue Prince Reborn said to him, "You managed to impress my father."

Jared scoffed at the remark of his friends as he walked towards them, "Good evening to you too, my Prince." Rhaegar brought his hand up to him and Jared did not hesitate to take his friend's hand and shook it hard, happy to see his friend well and alive, "It seems you too are in favour of the King."

"Not in a way you'd imagine," he shrugged.

"Let me guess, with great quarrels and doing things on your own?" Jared crossed his arms and looked at him with a narrow eye. He knows his friend, no one can beat his stubborn head.

He pursed his lips and shrugged innocently again, "Possibly, didn't we, Lya?" he turned to his sister.

"Well, that was mostly your doing," she scoffed before moving towards Jared, she opened her arms towards him, "It's so good to see you again, Jared."

Jared is obliged to give her a hug, she has been a supportive friend since the start. He had seen what she was capable of, and how powerful her atmosphere is. In fact, he was sure she got it from Queen Daenerys when he first saw the Dragon Queen. But she is also an honourable friend, just like King Jon. He had missed his friends dearly, "Hello, Princess. I'm glad to see you well."

She pulled away from him, "Stop calling me that."

"Well, considering that you are in the domain of your mother and father, princess…." he purposely ended with that title, wanting to tug on her nerves.

"Call me a princess again, and I'll make you face Daenys," she shot at him, there was a hint of threat and playfulness.

He waved his hand, "A jape, Lya," he laughed, "But you cannot deny that your parents are King and Queen. Which makes you a princess."

"And that makes you the son of the Kingsguard," she replied, the last word made his heart sink. Kingsguard. "Jared, there's someone you've got to meet. And it's overdue," Before he could even ask, she grabbed his hand and forcefully pulled him to follow her, even Rhaegar was grinning at him.

"Hey, Lya! Slow down," Jared cried as he was being pulled, walking away from the tent and going god knows where. His friend may be small, but her strength is surprising, "What are you….."

He never got to finish his sentence when she finally stepped aside to reveal something in front of her.

No, not something. Someone.

Before he stood a familiar golden-haired man, but he didn't seem to notice him when he finally turned in their direction. His green eyes were fully fixed on Jared, eyes looking haunted and his body completely stiff at the sight of him.

Jared was just as shell-shocked as him, finally taking it in on who the man in front of him is. Again, he had never met his father or know what he looked like. Only the stories from his mother painted a picture for him in his head.

The Targaryen siblings stepped back from him, and he felt a light push behind him, "Ser Jaime Lannister would love to meet you," Rhaegar said.

"And he knows about you," Lya added gently, "Your Muna too."

Jared has lived long enough with the twins to know what Muna means. But the young Lannister is just too frozen to even listen to what they say.

For all that matters now, is that his real father is right in front of him.

Lya walked toward his father, and she too gave him a light push towards him. Damn it, Lya, she's making this even more awkward, "Ser Jaime, I think you know who this is."

His father didn't need her encouragement, for he walked forward himself. Jared suddenly felt insecure. Having grown up without a father, he didn't know how to react to all this. He didn't even long much for one since his Mother and Uncle were enough for him, and then the thought of being able to reunite with him feels…..strange. Awkward.

Does he want him? Will he be happy to see his son? Did he even want to be the father of his own comrade? There were so many questions building in his mind, drowning his confidence and hope.

But when Jaime Lannister is finally toed to toe with him, all those anxieties began to drain. Jared pursed his lips, awaiting the inevitable. His father's expression broke into a warm smile, melting his concerns and nervousness away. He inspected his head to toe, looking exceptionally proud. Suddenly, Jaime took hold of his arm, "You are just as I imagined how you'd be."

Jared let out a sigh of relief that he was holding back, he returned the gesture and gave him a tight squeeze, "Father.."

He pulled Jared to his arms, hugging him with all his might, "It's so good to finally meet you, son."

And that was it. Jared thought he'd faint right there and then, for he grabbed a hold of his father and returned his warm gesture. A long time ago, he thought that he didn't need a father. That his mother and uncle were enough in his life.

Sometimes you see things with your eyes, but there are others you see in your heart. Lya once told him when he asked her about Jon Snow's absence in her life yet would still yearn for him.

Now he understands. His heart could not contain that hidden longing emotion anymore as he burst into sobs, tears threatening to spill, "Father," he said again, it sounds so much easier to say now.

"You do not know how much I am proud of you," he murmured softly, "Coming all the way here and proving yourself to the King and Queen…"

"I did what I believe is right, father," He pulled away from his father, now that he was closer to him, he can see him better now. His father, although age has caught up with him, can see some hints of himself. Now, he can see why his mother said he reminded him of his father.

He nodded, "Just as what your mother would have wanted," he slapped his back, looking at him from head to toe, "You are much bigger than I expected."

Jared laughed, feeling so much joy to be with his father finally. "Mother and Uncle Tyrion said the same thing," they both always told him how big he was, towering over them all like a Lion showing its dominance, "They said I looked like you."

"I can see that," he chuckled, "Gods, your mother would have given anything to see you right now."

At the mention of his mother, he perked up, looking left and right, "Is she here? Where is she?"

"She's resting in Winterfell," he answered, "Just like Queen Daenerys, she is carrying you in her."

Looking back at his age and the twins, they both are relatively the same age but born on different moons. A pang of anxiety creeps within him, "Is she alright?"

"The King and Queen have forbidden her to take any more duties until the babe arrives," he said, "I think your friends must have ensured you and your mother's safety too," he turned to the twins, watching them carefully from afar.

When they both looked at the twins, they looked like they feel uncomfortable, blinking nervously. Regular cleared his throat, "We'll meet you in the morning, Jared." He then tugged his sister's hand to follow him.

"Enjoy your time together, Jared," Lya waved, "We'll talk again tomorrow."

"Rhaegar, Lyanna," Jared had to say it. He had been nervous since the start, but now, he's glad that his friends told them about him, "Thank you."

The twins nodded, Rhaegar gave him a salute whereas Lyanna gave him a smile, a smile he had seen from Queen Daenerys. And at that, they left them be.

"Now," Ser Jaime clasped his shoulder, leading him in another direction, "You must share me your adventures. And your past. Leave no details behind, I'm certain your Uncle Tyrion would want to hear this too."

Of course, he had forgotten about his uncle. In this world, he has two parents, an uncle, and friends he could truly count on. He could get used to this new feeling. A sense of belonging and family.

And that night, the two lions, father and son, told their stories underneath the stars.

The following morning, the whole army is even more determined that the day before.

Thanks to Jared, Jon and Daenerys formed their plan on how to confront the Golden Company. They are discreet, but more resilient this time.

Especially Jon.

After his talk with Tyrion, he took charge fast, assigning everyone on their roles. No more fooling around, he told that himself many times.

His twins have been two reliable pairs of eyes to report to him on the troops and their progress. Having learned two foreign tongues, Dothraki and Valyrian, aside common tongue helped greatly in communication and coordination with the armies.

Jon had mostly taken over the leadership as Daenerys had been more exhausted as of late, which she admits it. He would ask her to be in the carriage and wait for him whilst he discusses with the council.

And that was what her initial plan was, to rest her legs in the carriage with her baby dragons and Greywind.

But before Dany entered the carriage, she caught a glimpse of Jared.

The young Lannister is helping the twins and the other soldiers pack the tents of the soldiers and sacks them into a wagon, her twins said something to him and they all laugh, which warmed her heart. It's good to see them be able to feel happy in the company of people they trust in the midst of the war. Then, the twins were called by her husband, and they left him alone as he continued to finish packing.

Jared Stone, the friend of her twins. Their best friends.

She turned away from her carriage and walked in his direction. Before everything is going to go down in battle, she needs to know something.

"Ser Jared," she called.

The young Lannister turned to her call and immediately straightened his back, "Your Grace."

"It's an honour to finally meet you," Dany said as warmly as possible, "My children have spoken many things about you."

The young man bowed his head and smiled, "Good things, I hope."

"It is," she returned the smile, "Thank you for being there for them when I could not. I wish I could've been there for them."

He shook his head, "Don't be. That is the past, we are here to make a new future. And your presence is truly helping them heal too," he said, "And if anything, I believe it is I who must thank your children."

"Whatever for?" She cocked her head.

"For aiding me to see the truth," he simply said, "Helping me find my ground even though I am a bastard, to help me find my purpose, and I am grateful for their aid, so I am willing to serve them even if they believe I am their friends," he then bowed to her, "And I shall continue to do so under your reign, Your Grace. If you will allow me to."

"Very much obliged, Ser Jared," she hummed, this is another thing they never discussed much. Perhaps it's because they never did get to speak much as of late, "I must admit, I have not been speaking much to my own twins with all that is happening, and it was difficult to…..get to know them properly as a family. I only know some and the pain that they had to go through, but I wish to know more about them."

"Prince Rhaegar and Princess Lyanna are not quite fond when people pry on their past, I for one was not able to. Not even their cousin was able to," he said, turning his attention to her twins, who are speaking with their father just across the field, "For their own past are not quite fond of them as well."

She nodded, "They must have suffered so much."

Jared did not say anything yet, merely staring at her twins. She wondered if what she said was true that he decided to remain silent for a while, "How much did they tell you about themselves?" he finally asked.

Dany pondered; this has been in her mind. "Not enough I fear. For the stopped me from asking about what happened at Castle Black," she sighed, feeling somewhat defeated. She had won many battles, yet this battle is something she never thought she'd have difficulties with, "I could not reach them."

This made Jared turn to her, his expression is unreadable, was it confusion or disbelief? "They never told you what happened at Castle Black?"

She sighed, "I was hoping that you could help me shed some light," she turned to her twins. They had just finished speaking with their father, and now they are speaking to one another. It looked serious, as if they are in their own world, "Rhaegar and Lyanna are not as open as I hoped they would. And because of that, it was difficult to understand their intentions for our councils," her eyes then turned to her son, "especially Rhaegar," she turned to look at the young Lannister, "My son has been working feverishly, I fear that it'd be the death of him. The scars on his back seem to be a constant reminder of something for him, I know it," Jared looked down, "And every time I tried to hold his reins, he'd pull them free. He does not seem to trust our judgment or even know that we are in this war together."

Jared continued to stay silent, he then looked down at his feet, "It's a habit of his, something hard to break."

Dany stepped forward to him, "Please, Jared. As the mother of your friends, I need to know what happened to my children. What had they gone through that haunted my son and daughter so much that they would fear Castle Black, even though it's the place where they found their dragons?"

The young Lannister looked at her sadly, looking somewhat defeated. He opened his mouth and closed it again. The twins must've spoken to him about revealing their past.

She had to be firm then, "And in case you are wondering, that is an order."

Jared scoffed, breaking the tension, "I knew Lya got that trait from you," he chuckled, making her smile as well. "I….," he paused, getting back to the topic. He stayed silent for a while but opened his mouth again, "I do not know a lot of it, but," he stepped forward, "May I presume that Rhaegar has shown you the scars on his back?"

She nodded, "Yes. But he did not elaborate, only that he was captured. My guess is because he is my son."

"Yes," He turned around, checking if there is anyone before he continued, "I cannot say much, but I first met Rhaegar at Castle Black," he said, "The day he was tortured for information and….treason."

Dany looked horrified, "Treason? Why?" She was so concerned about Rhaegar's scars to the point she had forgotten to ask why it happened.

This was when Jared pursed his lips, as if carefully considering his next words, "Many terrible things happened prior to that day. Rhaegar and Lyanna came out victorious in the end, but it came with a cost to them both their own minds," he clenched his jaws, looked the other way before turning back to her, "They became completely different people."

"With Lya?" she asked, "Lya said that she was never captured, why was she there with her brother?"

Jared sighed exasperatedly, "Forgive me, My Queen. It is not in my place to say it. But what I can say is that what happened at Castle Black changed them both completely. Including their lives. I barely recognized the person the Kingsguard captured, and the people have given them their own titles and names…."

They had a title, "Called them?" She pressed. What have the people called her children?

Jared bit his lip, and he opened his mouth, "Rhaegar was known as the Phantom Wolf, the Uncrowned King, or the Rogue Prince, just like Daemon Targaryen. Right after he assassinated some…leaders. As for Lyanna, she was called the Uncrowned Queen or the Shadow Dragon by the common folks as she has your resemblance."

Dany's breath hitched at this revelation; her twins did not tell her about their title. But do they know it themselves?

And their titles, it felt…..tragic. "I take it they went through a lot of pain for those titles?"

He nodded, "Far more than we could imagine, or what I expected from the children of the Dragons," he said sadly, Dany's heart sank at the response, "I helped Rhaegar to escape the continuous tortures. But he did not want to escape, and burned the entire soldiers instead, alongside Lya."

"You never answered my question," The Queen diverted the question, "Why was Lya with you and not with Rhaegar at that time? Was she captured too?"

He shook his head, "She helped me."

"But you just met Rheagar at Castle Black, and I don't think it was in a pretty circumstance if you saw him as a prisoner at first," she countered, things don't seem to be adding up. Lya and Rhaegar are inseparable. "My twins are always together, surely if you just met Rhaegar at Castle Black, then you must have met Lya too."

Jared fell silent, unable to answer. All he did was stare at her like an owl.

"Where was Lya when Rhaegar was tortured? How is she with you at that time? Was she tortured too?" Was she lying to her?

The young Lannister looked at the ground, his face looked apologetic and caught red-handed. "She…..we….."

"Jared!" the voice of her daughter startled them both. They turned to see Rhaegar and Lyanna jogging towards them, "My Papa said you are going to join us in the front lines."

"And you'll be his hand when we parley with Harry Strickland," her twin added, "Congratulations, you won the King's favour in just one day."

Dany sees how Jared can switch his composure quickly, as if pretending whatever they spoke about never happened, "Well, I can't say I am not honoured."

"Oh I'm certain you are, you complete arse," Rhaegar sneered in a playful way, "My mother and father had to interrogate us far longer than you did."

He shrugged, "Perhaps I don't look like someone who would act first without letting their King know."

Rhaegar raised an eyebrow, the same way Dany would do if something ticked her, to which she chuckled. Lya nudged her brother, "Enough you two," she then turned to Dany, "So I see you've met Jared."

Dany nodded, "Yes, he's a lovely young man," she turned to Jared, who gave her a smile. She can see he is the spitting image of his mother and father, "I can see why you three are good friends, it's good to have allies in times like this."

Jared then turned to their twins at the mention of friends, "Rhaegar, Lya, about Jon and his family," the twins looked at him, "Is it true? About what happened to him?" It took her a moment to realize that he was talking about their perished friend.

"How did you find out?" Lya asked sadly.

"Lady Kinvara told us," He answered sadly, "It's why Ser Connington and I immediately came here. We worry that something might have happened to you two too."

The mention of their fallen friend brought grim faces upon the twins, and as Dany feared, especially Rhaegar. Unlike his sister, she saw his hands balled to fists and his jaws clenching tightly.

"We found out from the Kraken himself," she told her side, "Rhaegar interrogated him, and he told us everything about killing them."

Jared's face turned pale, horrified, and disgusted from this revelation, "Please tell me he is dead, and that he suffered."

Rhaegar nodded, "I made sure of it. He was also the sacrifice for the Hatching Ceremony of my Father's dragons," he said.

Jared nodded, "And what of the bodies of Jon and his family?"

"I found their bodies were left to be scraped by scavenger animals. But I made sure they had a proper burial just beyond Winterfell," he said painfully before turning his head turned back to the trail they went, "I didn't expect that they would be leaving Winterfell already," he sighed disdainfully.

"Look it's not your fault this happened. None of you could've known that the Lannisters would attack the North," Jared walked to his friend to release that solemn face of his, he gripped his shoulder firmly, "We all did what we could do. We knew the risks that will come, death is inevitable, especially to us who swore to protect you and your family."

Rhaegar sighed before he turned to his friend, his violet eyes piercing at his blue ones, "I can't let you all do this because of me and my family. Look where Jon has ended up to."

"It's a risk that we all agreed to take, and something I too am willing to take," Jared said, making them all turn to him, "Like my Mother and Father before me, I am a Kingsguard. A Kingsguard's oath is to protect the heir to the Throne and their family."

Dany was expecting an acceptance of his friend's agreement to her son, a nod, or even a handshake. But instead, Rhaegar gave him a sly smile, "Well then, lucky for you, here she is," he stepped aside, presenting his mother to him, "In case you have forgotten, we legitimized ourselves."

"Rhaegar, please don't do this again," Jared looks as if he is ready to throw a fit, "You are still someone I swore to protect. The both of you. You are a King….."

"That never was," Rhaegar immediately said, "No one even had a meeting about this." What?

"Rhaegar…" His friend tried to reach him again.

"What's done is done, Jared. Drop this," he said in an authoritative tone, his hands clasped behind his back, "King Jon and Queen Daenerys are our main priority now. If they both die, then so will we. We know how to take care of ourselves."

"Rhaegar? Lyanna?" Dany couldn't stand to listen anymore, she watched her twins turn to her, "Were you both…..King and Queen of Westeros?"

"No," Lyanna shook her head.

"Yes," Jared countered immediately, "We chose you both as our leaders and protector of the realm."

"There was never a coronation, Jared," Lya said.

"Fuck the coronation," he growled, something she never expected from the young man, "You both were chosen in the council…."

"As leaders, not King or Queen. There were never crowns on our heads nor a damn coronation," Rhaegar quickly countered, "But that Kingdom is now gone, this Westeros is the new Kingdom we must protect. It doesn't matter what happened in the past," he turned to his mother, "No, Muna. We were never King or Queen. Just people trying to help bring Westeros back on its feet."

"Why didn't you accept yourself as King or Queen then?" Dany asked, "Your council chose you."

"Because during the process of maintaining King's Landing, the Long Night arrived," he said solemnly, then he turned to his friend, "And if you still believe that we were King and Queen….well…..our reign did not last long. And for that, we are sorry. We could not protect the realm, but we are going to do our utmost here. Definitely."

This time, Jared stayed silent, no comments came out of his mouth, as if he had just dug his own grave.

"But," Lyanna interjected, "There is still time to fix all this," she walked to his side, grabbing his arm and squeezing them, "And when we take back King's Landing, you can swear whatever oaths you want."

The young Lannister quirked his lips at the ice-breaking humour, "Now that's a little mild to put it that way."

She shrugged, "We never asked anyone to swear loyalties to us lest they want to, but with the Kingdom coming back together, perhaps we should consider that closely for our Papa and Muna," she then looked at Dany, and the rest followed shortly, looking at her questioningly.

Dany chuckled, "You will be glad to know that many who are here have sworn their oath to protect me and your Father," she walked towards them, "But I will expect you all to heed your Father's commands. I do not want another missing action on our behalf without consulting us."

The twins snorted, "Yes, Muna."

"Why am I not surprised," Jared crossed his arms, and the twins equally glared at them both. He raised his hands.

Dany's heart swelled in contentment to know that her twins had wonderful friends in their time growing up.

"Right," Rhaegar cleared his throat, "My Father is expecting you, best we start going."

He nodded, "At once."

But before they could go, the sound of an approaching constant barking echoed towards them, followed by reptilian clicks and screeches in the air. They all turned to find Greywind and the three baby dragons approaching them.

"Is that…." Jared squinted his eyes to look at the flying creatures.

"Yes," Dany said, "It's my husband's dragons. Balerion, Daenys, and Rhaena." At the call of their names, the dragons flew to her, just as her own would in the past. It made her feel nostalgic, "Hello, my children," the dragons began chirping in delight, "Yes, Muna is here."

"Well, I never knew these viscous creatures turned out to be adorable pups," Jared commented, looking at them with awe.

"Well, you might not like them when they have grown," Lya said.

"So long as you keep them away from me," he said, before a bark caught their attention. He grinned at the approaching canine, "Well, this is another beast I have not seen in a long time."

Greywind padded happily towards the young Lion, pushing his fur on his legs before standing in front of him. Jared strokes his head, "Hello, boy. It's good to see you well."

The wolf barked before licking his hand and returning to Lya's side. The sight of a wolf approaching a Lannister seems strange yet comforting. They all had been working together.

"Your Grace!" They all turned to find Missandei out of breath, "Forgive me, Khaleesi. They were restless in the carriage, and when I opened the door, they immediately stormed out."

"That's alright, Missandei," Dany reassured her as she lightly strokes Rhaena on her shoulder, the dragon purred in delight, "It seems that they are excited to find some new friends. You may go now."

"You are Missandei?" Jared chimed.

"Yes, my Lord," her friend bowed, "I am the Queen's handmaiden."

He nodded, "I have heard about you from Greyworm," at the mention of her lover, she immediately blushed. Dany thought she looked adorable. Jared bowed, "I am Jared, it is a pleasure to finally meet you, Lady Missandei."

Missandei ducked her head shyly, "The pleasure is all mine, good Lord. But I suppose I must be going to see to the Dothrakis." And at that, she left them all, just as Dany had dismissed her.

"Smooth," Rhaegar commented.

But his friend paid no mind as his attention went elsewhere, "It seems that your third dragon hatched," Jared noted the red baby dragon that hung on Dany's shoulder, clicking happily. Daenys and Balerion respectively on her other shoulder, making clicking noises. "May I know who this new fellow is?"

Dany smiled, "This is Rhaena, Jon named her."

"I see," he stared at the dragon with awe, "Well then, that solves the dragon problem. Now, we just need to install you both as the King and Queen of King's Landing."

"That's what we intend to do," Rhaegar said with determination.

"What we all intend to do," Lya agrees with him before turning to her mother, "Are you prepared to be the Queen of Westeros, Muna?"

Dany can feel the pairs of eyes looking at her. Years ago, perhaps she would've said 'no'. What can she do anyway?

But after all the pain she had been through, the hardship, and the friends and allies she obtains…..

And now, a husband and twins.

Her answer is clear, and without a shadow of a doubt, she answered, "So long as I am with your Father and you all by my side, I am prepared."
