At the Castle…
Genn felt like he needed to sit down from what he had been told, with Varian not too far behind him.
Liam was still resting as Anduin was twiddling his thumbs, Halsand was deep in his thought as he did remember meeting Anduin that he felt odd. Now he knew why, he was bound to Anduin as his disciple. He guessed that living was coming from the boy. Tyrande was making sure no more Forsaken were here as the guards were heavily watching the capital.
"Tyrande, why didn't you tell me this could happen?" Varian questioned as he was still trying to wrap his head around the situation.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know-."
"Anduin, you have done nothing wrong. You saved a life, and we are still learning about your powers." The king assured his son as he ruffled his hair.
…
Near the walls of the City of Gilneas…
Teleportation was a nifty thing too, especially if you wish to intercept a demigod of a prince and prevent him from entering the dangerous city.
Varian was ready to capture his son to prevent him from entering the war grounds, though his plan was a little bit of a stretch. There was a net ready, the mages were prepared, and the spells were in place, hopefully, strong enough to capture the boy and snap him out of his trance. The traitors have already caused enough problems to the people of Azeroth, he didn't need his only child being involved in this war. Varian may not understand fully about Demigods and the powers they have, but Anduin was his child, and he would not allow anything to happen to him.
"Are you certain this will be enough? I mean, I heard about Demigod's power, and even though the prince is a sproutling, but the boy could crush stone with his bare hands, by accident." A knight wondered as he knew full well the prince's power does to his clumsiness.
Thankfully, he stopped seeing double but his body's going to ache for a while after that wing wrack. Should have known better than standing behind the prince when he was turning… ouch.
"I will not allow my son to get crossed in the crossfire with the Banshee and the Deserters. We must do everything in our power to keep him from entering," The king ordered as a scout spotted something in the distance.
"Your Majesty, there is something coming our way!" He reported pointing to the ground, instead of the sky.
It couldn't be Anduin; he would still be in the sky. Whatever it was, was coming at high speed. They were ready for a battle, but instead, it was the leader of the Necrophytes, Halsand. He stopped when he faced the wall, knocking down everyone in the process.
"H-Halsand, what are doing here?" Varian demanded, but the undead man was not paying attention to him.
"He will come… Must prepare for arrival… Anduin…" Halsand spoke in a dazed state like Anduin.
As the others tried to stop him, he climbed up the walls at an impossible pace, tearing down the net and entering the city, with the Demigod free to enter while everyone was trying to recuperate.
…
Where the leaders were…
They argue and refereeing kept on for another hour until Tess began to scream.
"Tess!" Genn gasped as he and his wife were running.
"Anduin!"
The others were not too far behind! They ran down the steps as they saw a shadow leave not too far away! It didn't take a guess to realize who it was, and they feared the worse! They found Liam, in pain, the arrow pulled out as his poisoned wound was transformed by a glowing light, transforming into a tattoo of a pair of wings, wings like the prince's!
"Liam! Liam!" Mia shrieked as she was relieved that her son was still alive as Varian checked over Anduin!
"What happened?" Varian questioned his boy over worry.
"Lady Sylvanas came out of nowhere, she wanted to kill us all, but Liam protected us and… I got mad and smite her… a bit." Anduin admitted.
"You should feel no shame in defending yourself, my son."
"Especially towards that witch," Halsand added.
"Then, I took out the arrow and, I check the wound, it was poisoned but when I touched it-."
"Anduin, when you touched it, was your hand bleeding? Did you touch the wound with your wounded hand?" Malfurion questioned as he had a good guess on what was going on.
Anduin looked at his hand, and it was bleeding, the King Wrynn did so as well as he decided to bandage it.
"It seems that things are now more complicated." Tyrande sighed as she didn't know what to make of the situation.
"What do you mean?" Genn questioned as the Night Elf looked to Halsand's eye, seeing the same tattoo in his eye for a moment before it disappeared.
"Godhood is a mysterious thing. But they can create disciples, rewarding mortals with power and the magic of the God, Demi or not. But in return, they must serve." The Elf Queen explained further, "When Anduin's blood connected with the opened flesh, a tear from the skin, he made a pact with your son and Halsand. They are bound to be his disciples, granted powers by the child but are now to offer their service."
Everyone was quiet as they did not know what to make of the situation.
It seemed that they would not be going home just yet.
…
Varian felt a painful headache as Liam soon woke up.
"Liam, you're okay!" Mia gasped at her son waking up as she hugged her son with Genn.
"Yeah, feeling weird but okay." He answered as everyone was looking at him weirdly.
"About that…" Tyrande began as she told him the situation, he was in.
While things were being explained, Genn and Varian had some time to talk.
"Your Highness, King Varian, I know that I have failed to come when the world needed help and we deserved to be ignored for my failure to act. But I ask you, as a fellow king and as a father, please help me save my kingdom. I and my kingdom will forever be in your debt." Genn pleaded as the king looked at him.
He then looked to his son.
…
"My answer still stands. They abandoned all in Azeroth in her time of need yet beg for our help. Where were they when the nightmare when the Scourge began?"
"Times have changed, Varian. They have changed. They realized the errors of their ways and know you can't run away from their problems."
Tyrande was right, those people needed help. They needed someone to help them. But his father also bears grudges that he could not blame him for. There were few things that mean more to him than his own life, his son, his kingdom, and his friends. Refusing to help them with the Demons and Lich King was a slap to the face. He would not forget or forgive anytime soon.
But can he ignore them-.
Anduin gasped and abruptly dropped his fork onto the tablecloth, gaining everyone's attention. The face he made; it was like he was in a trance.
"Anduin?" Varian called to his son.
'Help us… Please help us…'
Cenarius gasped as Anduin was walking closer to the window.
"I'm… coming… I hear you…"
Anduin was in a hypnotized state as his wings opened forward and destroyed the glass, forcing everyone to cover their faces!
"Anduin, wait!"
But the boy already flew out the window.
Varian called out to his son as Tyrande turned to the Demigod.
"What in Elune just happened?" She gasped.
"It was a prayer."
Everyone turned to the Demigod of the Night Elves.
"We can hear them, hear the prayers of others. We can feel their pain and wishes. Anduin, he heard the pleading of the people of Gilneas and answered it."
"He's going to Gilneas? To that mess?" Varian questioned then summoned the captains, "Ready the knights and follow my son! We must stop him before he gets himself killed!"
Varian then left the throne room, leaving his guests alone.
"By the light…" Velen uttered as he looked to where the boy flew.
"You cannot stop a Demigod from defending those who call to them. But he will not be alone as he rallies his own disciple to aid him."
Varian sighed as he knew his son wouldn't leave until this matter was taken care of.
"Genn, I need you to listen to me. The Blight has caused too much damage to the kingdom and will soon make its way to the village. You may have no choice but to leave." Varian warned as he could see the blight from the window.
Despite what was going on with Anduin, the war was still going on and Gilneas was losing.
"I can't let the witch win after everything she has done!" Genn snarled.
"You're not. As long as your people are alive, you have your kingdom. Evacuate them to Stormwind. We will give you a home and a place amongst us until you can rebuild. After all, I doubt my son will leave without you or your son since he's a disciple now."
Genn took a moment to think as he could see the green fog growing closer.
He guessed he didn't have a choice.
His city was lost but his people could rise again.
Sylvanas will pay for what she has done, to the king and his son.
