Season 1: Episode 4
Violet sighed as she finished breakfast on that Saturday morning, it was the weekend and the searches for Clementine were still ongoing. Her mother was out, at work, so Violet had the apartment to herself for now. But then something happened which surprised her, there was a knock on the door.
"What the?" She muttered as she stood up.
Biting her lip she cautiously approached the door and checked the peephole. When she saw who it was she opened the door, eyes wide and Minerva smiled.
"Hey, I thought I'd come around and see how you were doing?" Minerva greeted her.
Violet swallowed but nodded. "Oh um, yeah, thanks. I'm okay, but um...well, kinda a bad time."
"Oh?"
Violet nodded. "Yeah, I'm, I'm going out to try and help search for Clementine again."
"You what?!" Minerva burst out.
Violet started, looking at Minerva in surprise, she looked startled and there was a flicker of something in her eyes, but it was gone completely within mere moments and she shook her head.
"Sorry I just...You've been hard at it searching for her ever since we met as far as I can tell." Minerva explained. "You've been going to your swimming stuff, school and just searching for Clementine. Shouldn't you take a break, for your own sake?"
Violet sighed. "I know what you're saying now but...I can't, I have to find her."
Minerva bit her lip, confused.
Finally she asked.
"You told me this girl Clementine was missing but...who exactly was she and, and how did she go missing, do you know?"
Violet sighed. "It's been so long since we've had anyone new here I forgot you didn't know her. Clementine is cool, she's one of if not the most popular girl at school. She's the star of the baseball team and is easily one of the most friendly people you'll meet."
Minerva nodded slowly. "Uh-huh…"
"Don't know how she disappeared, nobody does. She was babysitting one night, left that home and was on her way back to her own home...that's the last time anyone saw her." Violet continued.
"Wow, that is strange." Minerva replied after a moment of silence. "Um...where do I go to help out?"
Violet blinked, surprised. "Huh, what?"
"I wanna help you." Minerva confirmed. "Where do we start?"
Violet smiled at that, relieved and soon led the way as they left her apartment and went to join the other girls.
"Minnie, what's going on?"
Violet turned to see Sophie approaching.
Minerva explained at once about joining in the search and that was all the incentive that Sophie needed and joined in and it wasn't long before they searched the few other hidden parts of town that Clem knew of, the ones that the other girls knew of and that Clem had shared with them. But to Violet's growing horror, their searches turned out fruitless.
Leaving the last of Clem's favourite secret spots, Violet grimaced, trying to suppress the tremble that threatened to overcome her.
'God this, this can't be...how could this be, we looked all over the place.' She thought worriedly. 'This isn't right, where could Clem be, we've searched practically everywhere by now…'
She could feel the hope fading from her and she wasn't the only one, she could tell by looking at the faces of the other girls. Shaking her head and trying to clear her mind, she stepped away from the others, taking a few calming breaths.
"Hey, Violet."
She looked over at Minerva who had approached her.
"It's gonna be okay." Minerva said softly, smiling gently. "Things will work out somehow, she'll be found."
"But we've looked everywhere and…"
"I know, but...we'll figure something out, she'll be found, right." She said, reassuringly.
She had reached out and gently squeezed Violet's shoulder and Violet couldn't help but notice and bite her lip, feeling the warmth. The warmth was in her eyes too and she nodded to Violet, who was suddenly feeling awkward as she noticed the warmth seemed to spread through her.
'Whoa, am I, what is this I'm feeling it…' She wondered. 'No way, could it be...It's like, with Clem…'
She couldn't help but feel confused and worried. Then, as if to make her even more confused, she noticed Sophie approaching her.
"Hey, Violet, um...listen, I couldn't help but notice, you and Minnie." She explained, halting several times, clearly awkward.
Violet instantly felt her face heat up. "What, I um."
"It's fine." She said quickly. "Listen, I just wanted you to know that, it's fine, in fact, I think it'd be kinda cool."
Now Violet was even more confused and worried and excused herself shortly before everyone else dispersed.

So, deeply confused, Violet had used the key she had been given as swim team captain to get into the pool at school after grabbing her swimming gear from home. She had changed into her swimsuit, pulled on her goggles and swim cap and, leaving her clothes and belongings in a pile on the ledge by the window at the side of the pool, she made her way to the diving board.
'Can't focus, need to get this out of my head.' She thought. 'Calm down, everything was just, I have to clear my head from this stuff, Clem disappearing, Minerva apparently having feelings for me, at least according to Sophie...That I'm feeling...urgh, stop, clear my head remember, clear my head.'
So, taking a deep breath, she dove from the board and soon began swimming lengths across the pool, back and forth, letting her arms and legs do the work and letting her mind be transported away from her troubles as she usually did while swimming. She was able to relax at last and swam back and forth, ignoring the building burn in her muscles from her hard work, at least until she was sure she was able to have a clear head and not worry about her recent problems.
Suddenly, as she reached the side of the pool under the diving board and turned, as she turned her head to the side to take a breath, to the left on the side her clothes were on, she noticed something. On the next time her head turned that direction she saw it, someone was in the pool, walking along the side, roughly keeping pace with her. She couldn't see much however, just their boots and jeans. Every time she turned her head left she saw that figure until they reached where her clothes were. The next time her head turned that way, the figure couldn't be seen, they'd stopped at her clothes. When she reached the end she turned and held onto the edge of the pool, looking around. But the figure was nowhere to be seen, although she saw the door closing, as if the figure somehow just escaped. Confused and a little worried Violet went and pulled herself from the pool and walked around the pool towards where she'd let her clothes, removing her goggles and swim cap as she did so. She picked up her towel, glad to see it was still there, and quickly towels her upper body, head and hair before wrapping it around her waist and running a hand through her green tinged chlorine damaged hair.
'Okay, what the hell?' She wondered. 'Who was that and what were they up to?'
She leaned in closer and examined her clothes and belongings.
The first thing she noticed which made her even more confused was everything was there, nothing stolen or even moved. In fact, something was added, there was a folded note on top of her hoodie. Reaching out she picked it up and unfolded it.
The note was typed and read: "Do not take your usual route home, there is danger awaiting you there. Find a different route."
She read it a few times, even more confused and worried, quickly going to finish cleaning herself off and changing back into her clothes and leaving the pool. She locked the door behind her and wondered about the note, which was stashed in her pocket again.
'What the, could this...is this even real?' She wondered.
Feeling uneasy but feeling she could trust the note writer, she did as the note said and went for the alternate, longer, route to her home. All the same she couldn't help but wonder, who had been in the pool with her, how did they get away so fast, if they wanted to warn her about some danger, why had they done this rather than waiting and telling her. As she walked this longer route she reached a section that allowed her to see part of her usual route and her stomach dropped and she gaped, the note writer had been correct, for there on the road right by the path she'd have walked, was a dark car which looked very suspicious. Violet wasted no time and hurried home as quickly as she could, determined to not say anything, not even to her mother, especially as she had no idea what to do with what had just happened.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
