Season 1: Episode 5
Entering school the next day, Violet was on edge, still paranoid over what had happened over the weekend, not just the confusing stuff she was feeling with Minerva, but that weird incident at the pool and seeing that dark car on her usual route home from the pool.
'How could, how could this even happen, who was that…?' She wondered. 'How did they know that there would be someone on that route and why warn me?'
She was still on edge but knew she had to say something. That was why she hurried towards the other girls who were gathered near the main door, chatting away.
"Ah Vi, you made it." Brody said.
Becca looked up. "We need to see if...whoa, what's up with you, you look so freaked?"
Violet swallowed nervously. "Guys, you need to hear this-"
So she told them exactly what happened and the moment she finished, she could see their shocked and horrified faces.
Sarah gasped. "Vi, that's...oh my God. Who could this person be, and what, that car…?"
"I know, I don't get it." Violet replied shakily.
Brody and Becca were both worried, Becca finally spoke up however.
"God, that was a close call, but...you're safe now, whoever that person was, they saved you from whoever that creep in the car was." She remarked. "I get that it's freaky who this person could be that came into the pool area. But…"
"I know, I don't understand it myself, but yeah, they saved me." Violet admitted.
They were all quiet and troubled by this, wondering.
As they entered the school together, only to nearly run straight into Minerva and Sophie.
"Oh, sorry." Sophie said quickly.
The others shook their heads and Sarah spoke up.
"It's no trouble."
Minerva smiled back. "So, are you guys doing okay, after, you know…"
"Busy weekend." Brody finished and nodded. "Yeah, I think we're okay."
Violet nodded too, but felt rather awkward and just like Sophie, the other three girls took note of the way Violet and Minerva were awkwardly glancing at each other, out the corners of their eyes, trying to avoid the other seeing them. They began to notice what appeared to be a growing attraction between the two which made them curious, and somewhat worried. But they said nothing. Meanwhile, making his way down the corridor, Gabriel Garcia sighed. He had just been shoved into the nearby locker and dusted himself off, ignoring the taunts from the boys that had pushed him.
'Goddamn assholes.' He thought darkly. 'They seriously still...huh?'
He stopped and listening, eyes widening as he listened in to the conversation happening right around the corner.
"Dude, c'mon, that's ridiculous, you're not serious-" Mitch Daymond was saying.
Marlon Chase just laughed. "Of course dude, c'mon, it's been long enough."
Mitch let out a sigh. "Dude, she said she's not-"
"You know Brody, she's teasing, I'll gladly show her just how ready we are." Marlon said. "I'll go to her locker room at her tennis club and we'll get right to it, she'll love it."
"You're crazy." Was all Mitch said as the boys walked off.
Gabe was frozen in shock, unable to believe what he was hearing, he had to do something, but he couldn't alert anyone, no one would believe him, he had to stop it himself.

"Hey, Jones." Rondi snapped. "You need to try being more perky, or can you just not handle being a cheerleader anymore?"
Becca rolled her eyes. "Give it a rest Rondi, seriously-"
"Oh boo hoo, poor little Becca." Rondi laughed. "Just because your little leader is off no doubt doing something illegal, why else would she disappear."
Becca snarled, getting right in Rondi's face. "Maybe she's been kidnapped, you dumb bitch!"
She then shoved Rondi who yelped and staggered back.
"You, you'll pay for that, you're gonna be off the team, just you wait!" Rondi screamed.
With that she stormed off, no doubt to get the coach, but Becca was past caring.

Brody smiled lightly as she finished putting things away in her locker. Despite everything happening she knew that when she went out for tennis practice she needed to not give away any of her fears. But when she closed her locker she jumped for standing there, glaring at her, was Marlon.
"Jeez, Marlon, what are you doing here?" She gasper. "This is the girls locker room."
"And there's nobody here but us, babe." He remarked. "And I'm here to fix this little mistake."
"Mistake, what are you-Hey!?" Brody tried to reply before crying out.
Marlon suddenly had her pinned against her locked, one hand on her bare thigh, pushing up the hem of her tennis skirt.
"I'm tired of waiting.
Brody tried to fight him off but he kept persisting.
"Marlon, no." She cried. "I told you I'm not ready."
Marlon just grunted. "I'm getting fed up with your ridiculous teasing, stop pretending."
"I'm not!" She screamed as she did the only thing she could.
Marlon yelped as she lashed out, scratching his face and leaving lines of cuts.
He growled at her actions.
"You ungrateful bitch, I-!"
But his scream was cut off as Brody felt him get hauled off her. She gasped, heard shouts and the sound of fighting and when she'd regained her wits she was frozen. For there was Gabriel Garcia, having pulled Marlon off her, now fighting with him.
"That's enough!"
She nearly jumped out her skin at the shout. It was the gym coach and he had interceded between the boys and was soon forcing them out the locker room.
"Take a moment please, Miss Burress." He said as he looked back at her. "Then come to the Principal's office to give a statement."
He then made the boys walk ahead, leading them away muttering something that worried Brody.
"This was not a good move on your part." He directed at Gabe.
Brody frowned at that but quickly gathered herself. She hurriedly got changed back into her normal clothes, ignoring her still racing heartbeat, and quickly told the Tennis coach where she'd be and why before making her way to the Principal's office. She knew she had to act fast, before a grave injustice was done.

Brody took a deep breath as she reached the Principal's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
She entered and saw the Principal, a tall broad shouldered grey haired man with dark eyes and a crisp suit. The coach stood by his desk and both watched her with concern.
"Ah, Miss Burress, please sit down." The Principal said.
She did so and the coach spoke up.
"Are you alright?"
She nodded. "I am now. Regardless, I need to tell what happened right?"
"We already have a pretty good idea." The coach replied darkly.
The way he said that did not sit well with Brody prompting her to glare at him, something which his reaction showed he was clearly surprised by.
"Meaning what?" She snarled.
The Principal answered however, calm and level-headed. "Both Mr. Chase and Mr. Garcia gave us more or less the same story, but each claimed the other was attacking you and they were trying to save you."
Brody nodded. "Right and of course you're letting those alleged rumours and petty biases fuel your presumption that Gabe is responsible."
The Coach interjected. "Mr. Garcia's history is already well known-"
"No, it isn't, it's tarnished by rumours spread by Rondi Pels, most likely out of jealousy given how she usually is." Brody snapped back. "Or maybe you're just using that as an excuse and are blaming Gabe simply because he's not white-"
"Miss Burress!" The coach growled.
"Enough!" The Principal cut in. "We are here not to get into arguments, we are here to resolve this. With your statement Miss Burress."
Brody nodded but the coach cut her off. "And remember, you need to tell the truth, exactly what happened."
"Easily enough, giving how vividly it's stuck in my mind." Brody remarked coolly. "To put it simply, Gabe was telling the truth, Marlon attacked me, because I wouldn't give in to him pressuring me to have sex...there was a struggle, I scratched his face...then Gabe showed up and hauled him off me, they fought and, well, you know the rest."
The Principal nodded slowly while the colour had drained from the coach's face.
Finally he blurted.
"He, he dared to...wait, you scratched his, face, you're absolutely sure about that?"
Brody nodded and held up her hand, showing blood under her fingernails. It was like a light bulb moment for her, she scratched Marlon, so he'd have the marks on his face, compared to Gabe who wouldn't. It was a light bulb moment for the coach as well who seemed to realise he was wrong and was angry at being duped.
"We need to call the police." He said, I can't believe this, that he would-"
The Principal nodded. "You are okay with pressing charges, Miss Burress?"
Brody nodded. "Yes, I would have called them myself...if a mistake had been made."
She let the words linger, their meaning clear.
Finally The Principal nodded. "Please wait outside Miss Burress, and try not to wash that hand for now, you are carrying important evidence."
Brody nodded and left the office, relieved that true justice was being done at last.
Hurrying to the office after having heard what happened to Brody in the locker room, the other girls were frantic. To their surprise, when they arrived, they saw the police leaving, with a rather furious looking Marlon and they saw Brody talking to Gabriel Garcia of all people. Once he left they approached.
"Are you okay, Brody?" Violet burst out. "We heard you got attacked?"
Sarah also added. "What was Gabe doing here, did he…?"
Brody shook her head. "No, Marlon attacked me. Gabe actually saved me."
"Wait, you got attacked in the locker room by Marlon and you say Gabriel Garcia saved you?" Becca remarked with narrowed eyes. "What was he even doing at the girls locker room in the first place."
Brody smiled lightly. "He overheard Marlon planning to assault me and came to stop it, since nobody would believe him if he tried to tell them."
"Hmm, so he says." Becca remarked, clearly still suspicious.
But as they walked away, Brody was deep in thought, she was sure now, there was more to Gabriel Garcia after all and those rumours certainly were questionable, she had no doubt about that.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
