Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 5 of Familiar Taste of Poison. Thank you to those who have left reviews. It honestly does mean a lot to me that you are all enjoying this story. I know that this story is a bit slow going in certain spots, but I promise at some point in this series it will pick up. I am going to try and keep to a schedule. I know we saw a murder in the last chapter of a man that cheated on a woman, but we don't know who the woman is at the moment. This chapter is going to be set during Episode 4, but not go into probably any detail about the episode. I hope that you guys will enjoy this next chapter. Without further ado Chapter 5. ENJOY!
Chapter 5
Violeta parked her red Audi outside of Hannibal's office in one of the few parking spots that were outside of his building. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she looked up at the building. Her fingers shakily reached for her keys to kill the engine of her car. Her heart rammed lightly in her chest wondering exactly what she was going to talk about to Hannibal that day.
She took a breath through her parted lips as she grabbed her purse that was on the floorboards, before opening the door to her car. She shifted in her seat, putting her feet onto the concrete before fully getting out of her car. She slung her purse over her shoulder and looked up at the building as she closed the door of her car. She steeled her nerves as she walked up the stairs to get inside the building.
She opened the door before slowly going inside. She nibbled her lower lip as she made her way toward Hannibal's office. She opened the door to his office coming into the waiting area. She lowered her purse off of her shoulder, sitting it on the floor next to her feet. She took her coat off and hung it up on one of the hangers. She picked her purse up, putting it over her shoulder once again before walking to one of the chairs in the waiting room. She sat down in one of the chairs quietly knowing that she wouldn't be waiting too long for Hannibal to come out of his office to bring her in and begin talking to her.
She closed her eyes as she took another soft breath trying to keep her nerves from going haywire. The things that she and Hannibal had talked about the week prior were not something that she had expected to talk to him about. After all, they weren't lovers or even that seeing one another. They were just friends and nothing more, right? Her heart clenched in her chest painfully knowing that there was no way that Hannibal would see her any other way than as a friend, regardless of how close they had gotten over the years.
She opened her eyes when she heard the door opening to Hannibal's office. Her eyes landed on Hannibal, who never ceased to amaze her with what he wore. Always wore three-piece suits that flattered his body type very well.
"Afternoon," Hannibal said, his lips quirking into a smile seeing Violeta sitting there dressing rather professionally as she always had, a black skirt, with a red button-down blouse this time and a black blazer. "Come on in."
Violeta got up to her feet gripping her bag lightly in her hand and walked into the office slowly. She tried to keep her heart rate normal due to how he looked at her as she passed by him. She walked to the seat that she normally sat in.
Hannibal closed the door thinking of how off Violeta was acting towards him. Perhaps she had shook her up a little bit when he had talked to her on the phone last week. He walked over to the other chair sitting across from her. "So how have you been this past week?" He questioned as he looked up at her and directly into her eyes.
Violeta took a soft breath knowing that this wasn't going to be an easy thing for her to do. She looked down shyly. "I have been alright. Practicing quite a lot." She admitted softly biting her lower lip softly.
"Not long practices I hope?" Hannibal said, causing Violeta to look up at him.
"Not this time around no. I think the dancer that had trouble last week was having a bad day." She tucked some of her hair behind her ear.
"That is understandable. Dancers can be prone to having bad days."
Violeta nodded her head slowly, biting her lower lip.
"Now, shall we talk about what we talked about over the phone last week?"
Violeta's eyes widened as she looked up at Hannibal, her cheeks flushing slightly. "You… you want to talk about that." She cleared her throat shyly. "I thought you wouldn't want to talk about it."
Hannibal's lips quirked a little bit as he took in her flustered appearance. "I asked you that night when we spoke on the phone if you wanted a relationship more than just friendship. Was I wrong to think that?"
Violeta cleared her throat. "Hannibal," She said, biting her lower lip. "I thought we wouldn't talk about this again."
"Violeta, why do you think that I wouldn't want a relationship with you?" He questioned his brow-raising slightly. "Do you think that you're not beautiful or smart?"
Violeta looked down, pursing her lips together into a thin line. She couldn't understand why he was even talking about such a thing. "Why would you even want a relationship with me Hannibal," She asked, looking up at him wondering why he would even want to have such a relationship with her. After all, she was only a dancer. Nothing that would be useful to Hannibal.
"Is there something wrong with me wanting a relationship with you?"
Violeta took a breath through her nose sharply knowing that this was a different form of Hannibal than what she was used to. "I… no." She said, shaking her head. She didn't see anything wrong with it. She was just trying to understand why he would even be thinking of such a thing. "I just don't understand why." She looked up at him, her brows furrowed in confusion. She didn't understand why Hannibal even wanted a relationship with her. "I didn't think that anything had changed." Her cheeks reddening as she felt as if she had dug herself an even bigger hole. She just wanted to die of embarrassment.
"You don't understand why?"
Violeta shook her head lightly.
"You hadn't noticed anything that has changed between the two of us?"
"Hannibal, we're close friends and have a very unorthodox friendship. I'll even admit that, but I didn't think that you would have feelings for me." She admitted softly. She was still rather unsure of how he truly felt about the whole thing.
Hannibal's lips quirked as he watched the younger woman who sat across from him. He watched the emotions flit across her face. He knew that she was probably rather concerned about the whole thing. "You are very unique, Violeta."
Violeta looked up at him through her dark lashes. "Have I done something for you to like me?"
Hannibal leaned forward in his seat looking at her. "Just being you, Violeta. Surely you know that you're a beautiful woman."
Violeta bit her lip softly. "No one says that much to me." She admitted softly. She hated admitting the truth that not many people said much about how she looked. All they cared about was how she danced.
Hannibal let out a soft hum. He couldn't believe that no one would tell her about her beauty. "If you were to start a relationship…"
"Hannibal…" She said softly, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Hannibal touched her cheek softly, being very light with his touch. "If you wanted to start a relationship would you even want to?"
"Of course, I would want to." She said softly looking up at him not even noticing that she was leaning into his touch. Her heart fluttered a little in her chest.
"If you would start one with me?"
Her eyes widened slightly. He honestly wanted to start a relationship with her? "You… you honestly want a relationship with me?"
Hannibal took her hand with his free hand as he kept touching her face. "I wouldn't have asked you otherwise if I wasn't honest about that."
Violeta locked her eyes with his shyly. "You're one hundred percent certain?"
"Yes, I'm certain." He told her softly knowing that she was trying to grasp the idea. "I want this if you want this too."
Violeta took a breath through her teeth knowing that she needed to answer him. Her mind was still reeling from the fact that he wanted to be with her. "I…" She trailed off for a moment to think. "Yes." She said softly.
Hannibal looked into her eyes. "Yes?"
"Yes, I want to be in a relationship with you." She said softly looking up at him into his hazel eyes.
Hannibal's lips quirked into a smile. He had to admit that he was happy to hear that. He shifted off of his seat getting up to his feet and moving towards her. He leaned down slightly so he could reach her sitting form. His lips softly brushed against hers in a soft kiss.
Violeta slowly began to return the kiss understanding that this was the next step of their relationship. Perhaps a relationship with Hannibal wouldn't be such a bad thing. Perhaps he would be able to bring her more out of her shell and show her that she was more than just a simple Prima Ballerina.

This is the end of Chapter 5. I hope that this chapter turned out well and I honestly hope that you all enjoyed this chapter. We finally get the conversation that I've been itching to write since writing Chapter 4. We now see that there is a budding romance between the two of them. Please leave a review with your thoughts on this chapter. I love hearing your thoughts on these chapters and what you think of the character in general. I know that right now Violeta seems a little meek and confused, but for good reason, since she's not used to Hannibal being this way with her. He has kind of thrown her for a loop. I also love hearing about who you think the Full Moon Widow might be in this story. I promise you it will all be revealed soon enough. I hopefully will update with the next chapter next week. Until next time.
