A/N: Just to confirm this is the last chapter of this ARC, NOT the whole story.

Response to reviews:

Bl4ckHunter: Yeah, poor Barry.

Thanks.

I totally agree. Seeing Barry and Thawne 2v1 on Godspeed was cool but that lightsaber crap was horrible.

Aragorn II Elessar: Thanks.

Poor Barry indeed.

Yeah, that does suck a lot.

I'm with you there. Kinda gonna miss Davis but not so much on Piper.

Yeah, I decided to include that for conflict sake.

Yes he is.

Happy to hear that.

It was a dark, cloudy afternoon in New York City. The stratus clouds were lined with sheets or light gray mixed with dark gray, seemingly threatening rain. Instantly, a flash of orange lightning zipped throughout the entire city near the speed of light, moving at one hundred thousand miles a second. The flash lightning ran up the side of a building before stopping at the rooftop. As Barry skid to a halt, he immediately noticed Daisy in front of him, chained to a pole, a pair of power-dampening cuffs on her wrists. He took off his newly repaired mask, throwing it to the ground as he stood in front of Daisy. He used his vibrating hand to break through the chains and the cuffs, freeing Daisy as Barry helped her stand. The two wrapped each other in an embrace as Barry sighed heavily with relief.

"Thank God you and the baby are okay," Barry sighed as he and Daisy slowly let go of their embrace, looking at each other, their eyes gazing into one another.

"Barry, I-" Daisy tried to say only for Barry to cut her off.

"I'm sorry," Barry said immediately as Daisy stared at him in confusion. "For what I said to you. About the baby and about…me not being there. The truth is I was afraid, I was afraid of putting you and the baby in danger and I thought by leaving, I could protect the two of you but I was wrong. I'm going to be there, Daisy. When this is over, I'm going to be there to raise our child…with you. I know it won't be perfect but we can figure it out together. We can. We have to…I love you, Daisy."

Daisy wrapped her arms around Barry's neck as she pulled his face down to his, their lips colliding to a kiss. Barry wrapped his arms around Daisy's body as the kiss between the two lasted for a few moments. In those moments, Barry and Daisy couldn't feel anything except the presence of each other. The world just…wasn't there to them, it didn't exist. In those few moments, it was just the two of them together. Daisy slowly pulled her face away from Barry's as the two gazed into one another's eyes. Daisy kept her arms lightly hanging from Barry's neck as Barry kept his arms wrapped around Daisy's back. The pair smiled as they continued holding each other.

"Do you always make last-minute romantic speeches before death battles?" Daisy asked sarcastically.

"Well, including the death battle part, I'd say it's actually a bit of a first." Barry quipped.

"Not too common for your world?" Daisy inquired.

Barry smiled as he and Daisy began swaying together. "You are my world. You and the baby. Both of you are my world."

Daisy smiled. "You know, speaking of the baby, I think I've thought of some names."

Barry furrowed an eyebrow playfully. "Yeah?"

"I was thinking…" Daisy began. "Luke Henry Allen if it's a boy. If it's a girl, Emilia Nora Allen."

"After my parents?" Barry asked, his eyes filled with emotion.

"I wanted to honor them with it."

"Daisy, I…" Barry began, shaking his head in speechlessness. "Those are beautiful names."

"Yeah?" Daisy asked with a smile.

"Yeah," Barry grinned. "I love you."

"I love you, too," Daisy said as Barry kissed her forehead before placing his hand on her flat stomach.

Barry then pulled Daisy closer to her as the pair kissed once more, holding each other in their arms. They kissed for a few moments before leaning their foreheads against each other as both sighed.

"I'm never letting you go," Barry whispered.

"You sure about that?" Daisy dared.

"I am," Barry said, smiling with a nod. "Wherever you go, I'm gonna run after you. I'll just…keep running after you…"

Daisy couldn't help but start chuckling as Barry chuckled with her, continuing on with his speech.

"…I'm just gonna follow you everywhere," Barry quipped as he and Daisy laughed. "So no, I'm never letting you slip again."

"I like the sound of that," Daisy said, kissing a grinning Barry's cheek.

Just as they finished speaking, a Quinjet landed a few feet away from them on the rooftop. Barry and Daisy, while still holding onto each other, turned to face the direction of which the Quinjet was in. The hangar door of it opened as Clint, Steve, and May stood by it before they all nodded to the couple in acknowledgement. Barry then turned his head to Daisy, who looked back at him with a worried look.

"You have to go," Barry said. "I have to stop Godspeed and I have to do it on my own."

Daisy nodded. "I understand. Barry, it's just…just be-"

Daisy was suddenly cut off by a loud booming sound as the sounds of lightning and energy began to echo through the streets of New York City. Barry turned his head around as the sounds of civilians screaming in fear and panic began more prominent. He and Daisy walked up to the ledge of the roof as they stood on it, looking down at the streets. A few blocks away they could see a figure of a man in a white, armored-like suit with powerful strays of white lightning extending from him. The lightning formed an irregular-shaped dome around him, one that expanded several yards. Across the streets and sidewalks, civilians began running in panic, cars crashed on the streets, looting began as people tried to evacuate. Barry and Daisy stared at the sight of Godspeed's energy and lightning.

"Oh my god," Barry sighed in shock.

"Can speedsters really do that?" Daisy asked.

Barry shook his head. "I-I don't know, I've never seen anything like this," He instantly turned around to face Daisy. "You have to go. Now."

"No," Daisy said, defiantly shaking her head. "I'm not letting you take on that thing alone."

"Daisy, I'm not putting you and the baby in that situation," Barry argued. "And if Godspeed sees anyone else besides me, he'll tear this city and the people in it to shreds. Daisy, I have to do this but if I'm going to, I need to know you and the baby are safe."

Daisy bit her lip in confliction as she remained silent for a few seconds before speaking once again. "Just kick his ass."

Barry nodded. "I will."

Daisy kissed his cheek before turning around and leaving with May, Steve, and Clint as she got aboard the Quinjet. She gave Barry one last look on the hangar door of the Quinjet as she mouthed an 'I love you' to him. Barry did the same. As the Quinjet took off, Barry watched it fly off into the skies of the city, heading and making way for the underground base. Barry sighed in relief, knowing Daisy was going to be safe and far from Godspeed's reach. He wouldn't have to worry about him hurting her. Barry picked up his mask from the ground, putting it on before he sped away from the building at super speed, an orange trail of lightning following him. Barry sped through the streets before stopping by the center of Times' Square. He was inside August's dome of lightning as he could see August, kneeling on the ground, unmasked.

"August!" Barry roared as August looked up to face him.

"Hello Barry," August said with an evil smile. "Our battle begins. Now, we fight…to the death."

Suddenly, August stood tall, throwing his arms out with a roar as orange energy and white lightning came from his body. Barry was thrown off his feet by the wave of energy as he crashed into the first floor of a building. The wave of energy spread across the entire city of New York, destabilizing and destroying structures, the bridges were obliterated as several cars of innocent families fell into the water. As the dome of destructive energy reached the edge of New York City, it dissipated into nothingness. Back at the center of Times Square, Barry crawled out from the building he was thrown in through a window of broken glass. He landed on the ground, rolling onto his back, his mask was half-broken, revealing the right side of his face. Then, a flash of white lightning appeared before August Heart stood above Barry. August quickly dropped to his knees and delivered a series of speed punches all over Barry's face and chest, his armor cracking, his mask breaking fully before being thrown off. August grabbed Barry as he chucked him at super speed, sending him flying before he hit a car and dropped to the ground, his knees supporting him as he spat blood from his mouth, drips of it resting on his lip. August then sped over to Barry, standing as he looked down at him with shame and disgust.

"You were my hero, Flash," August said in a tsk, tsk attitude. "And now, I'll have to kill you."

Angrily, Barry rose to his feet as he threw his fastest and strongest punch towards August in rage. August, moving faster, ducked under and threw a series of speed-punches towards Barry. Barry managed to dodge and block a few hits but for every hit he avoided, ten more would strike him. He was only going as fast as one hundred twenty thousand miles per second. August, on the other hand, was going at exactly one hundred eighty two thousand, two hundred eighty-two miles per second. Or in other words - the speed of light. August was going much faster than Barry, who could only take so many of August's lightspeed punches. August threw a series of two hundred punches spread evenly across Barry's chest and face before slamming Barry to the ground. Barry fell to his knees, using his hands for support as well only for August to grab him in a chokehold, vibrate his hand and stab him in the side of his stomach. Barry groaned in pain as August threw him to the ground, he crawled onto his knees before sitting against the car he had been crashed against.

"Why?" August said in a rising voice. "WHY! Why do you keep holding back? I'm sick of it. Just stop holding back and start actually trying to fight me!"

Barry climbed onto his feet, ignoring his injury as he rushed at August, throwing a punch towards him. August, having been much faster, simply stepped to the side, grabbed Barry's wrist and one-shot him to the ground. Before Barry could even react, August kneeled over him and began speed-punching him over and over again, this time, blood came from Barry's face as August ragefully continued his rain of punches. He got to his feet, unleashing a beam of orange energy and white lightning at Barry as the ground beneath the two of them cracked. Barry groaned in pain as August stood disappointedly, towering over Barry.

"You wanna die for these people?" August asked. "Fine," August then got onto his knees once more as he punched Barry one by one. "I'll just kill the ones you love as well…" Punch. "Joe…" Punch. "Caitlin…" Punch. "Cisco…" Punch. "Wally…" Punch. "Daisy…" Punch. "And your stupid, unborn child."

This time, August threw a final punch only for Barry to intercept it. August paused in shock as he tried to pull his hand away, but Barry's grip was strong, he was far stronger than August was. Barry got to his knees as he twisted August's hand, making him wince in pain as Barry brought August down to his level. August could see the look of pure rage on Barry's bloodied face. Barry then used his other hand as he threw a lightspeed-leveled punch towards August. The punch struck him right in the solar plexus as August was thrown across the entire city before crashing in the docks. Instantly, Barry sped over, running at the speed of light, just as fast as August was. He grabbed August's collar, pulling from the water only to run him across the entire city. Barry stopped at certain spots to throw a series of punches and strikes towards August, tearing his suit and making him bleed. Barry sped all over New York, appearing as several rays of orange lightning all at once as he battled August across the whole city. On one rooftop, Barry pinned August to the ground as he repeatedly struck him over and over again.

"Don't-" Punch. "Ever-" Punch. "Threaten-" Punch. "My-" Punch. "Family-" Punch. "AGAIN!"

Barry then raised both his fists in the air before throwing them down as fast as he could, striking down on August's chest. The strike was so powerful that orange lightning came from it, lightning that destroyed the entire rooftop, causing Barry and August to fall through onto the highest floor, where workers and employees were now evacuating themselves due to the destruction. Barry and August quickly rose to their feet as they rushed each other at lightspeed, the two punched each other at the same time as they both dropped to the ground. They got onto their feet as they engaged in combat. August threw a punch at Barry who blocked with his left before striking with his right, side-kicked August in the stomach and then grabbed his arm before throwing him over his shoulder and onto the ground. August got onto his knees as he threw a backfist at Barry, who caught it by his wrist. Barry struck August in the neck, making him choke before roundhouse kicking his stomach and slamming him to the ground. The whole fight had occurred at lightspeed as August looked up at Barry with a bloodied grin.

"The skill of Batman," August chuckled. "He may have taught you a lot of things. But tell me, Barry, could he teach you this?"

August raised his left hand, which was not only vibrating but had lightning coursing through it. He snapped his fingers as the entire floor was flooded with energy. Barry was thrown off his feet as the blast sent him flying as he crashed through a window. While Barry was in free-fall, August ran at lightspeed as he jumped in the air, grabbing Barry before speeding to the ground as the both of them crashed on a car. Barry groaned in pain only for August to grab him and throw him to the ground. August ragefully grabbed a pole before bringing it down on Barry's leg, stabbing him with it. Barry screamed in pain as August twisted the pole, making Barry scream even more.

"This is gonna hurt," August said menacingly as he ripped the pole out.

Barry's scream of pain was cut off as August jumped up before bringing his knee up as he landed on Barry's chest with a thud. At super speed, Barry vibrated his hand, letting it course with orange lightning as he struck August square in the chest. August was sent flying as Barry turned around as he sprawled onto his feet.

In the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Coulson, Daisy, May, Fitz, Simmons, Mack, Bobbi, Hunter, Tony, Steve, Sam, Clint, and Natasha were all packed together in the Director's office. They watched security and satellite footage of what was going on. They stared in shock and horror. This was the kind of destruction they had seen in an Avenger's leveled threat. The entire city had been leveled by a large-scaling energy explosion, supposedly from Godspeed.

"Oh my god," Coulson said, shock and horror filling his voice for the first time in a while.

"Barry…" Daisy breathed.

Back in the city, Barry sped over at lightspeed before stopping to a halt. He looked over, seeing August struggling onto his feet a couple yards away. Barry couldn't help but notice orangish energy building up inside him, inside his body. He stared in shock as August grinned, noticing Barry's horror-filled look.

"That has to do with the explosion you caused earlier," Barry began, panting as he rested his hand on his stomach. "The one that leveled the city. Doesn't it?"

August grinned. "Yes. Yes it does."

"How? How'd you do it?" Barry asked.

"Fitz knows," August said, pointing at Barry as he walked in a curved direction. "He knows. Don't you, Fitz?"

Back at the base, inside the room, the agents and the Avengers paused in confusion as each of them turned to Fitz. They had heard everything Godspeed had said through the comms Barry had. Fitz, who was sitting in a wheelchair due to his injuries, had a look of confused thinking on his face. Suddenly, his face changed as it was replaced with a look of realization mixed with horror.

"I didn't keep talking about what Fitz made for Coulson on and on for no reason," August said as he and Barry circled one another. "You know what he made, Barry? An enhanced nuclear energy reactor. Small, built-to-last, but powerful. Imagine. The power to destroy an entire city encased in something no bigger than a lamp. Only someone like Fitz could make such a thing. I took several of those and I absorbed it. All that energy. All that power. I have it inside me. I could destroy an entire continent and there's nothing you can do to stop me."

Barry scoffed. "Try me."

Barry charged towards August, running at the speed of light as he reached for him. August, however, was able to react as he turned around and began running. The two had the same speed but August was able to remain in front due to having been ahead. As they ran at lightspeed, Barry chased August throughout and across the entire world, running through many cities and countries. Paris, Amsterdam, Italy, Moscow, Salt Lake City, India, several places. Eventually, after twenty seconds of running all over the world, August finally slowed down as Barry caught up to him, tackling him before they landed in snow. Specifically, the snow-covered grounds of Antarctica. August and Barry sprawled to their feet as they continued their fight, August threw a super-speed punch towards Barry, who caught it before countering with several kicks and punches of their own. Barry was always the stronger one out of the two and now, he was just as fast. In a hand-to-hand fight, August had little-to-no chance whatsoever. As Barry continued his reign of attacks, August suddenly roared as energy burst from him, sending Barry flying several yards away as he landed on a heap of snow. He quickly got onto his feet, bending his knees as he saw August struggling, energy building up inside him.

"Barry…" a voice came from the comms of Barry's suit as he crunched his eyebrows in confusion. "Barry, can you hear me?"

"Fitz?" Barry asked in confusion.

"Barry, listen to me," Fitz said through the comms. "The energy August absorbed. It's going to destabilize, he can't contain it. His speed is the key. The more he uses it, the more powerful the energy becomes-"

"And the less stable it becomes," Barry realized. "How big is the final explosion?"

"Could be a third to a fourth of the whole planet by my calculations."

August let out a roar as a dome of energy burst from him, heading towards Barry. Barry quickly turned around one hundred eighty degrees as he took off at lightspeed. He ran out of the continent of Antarctica as he ran through the oceans, the dome of energy following him as it created waves of water following him. Barry reached the mainland of the United States as he ran back to New York City. He stopped in his tracks, turning around to face the direction he had come running from. He could see the energy barrier dissipating as Barry stared in shock. August's outbursts of energy had scaled as high as multi-continental. The dome of energy he created had reached the edges of New York City all the way from the middle of Antarctica. His next energy burst would've been the deadliest and strongest of all. Barry had to figure out a way to stop him. But how? There was no place on Earth he could take him without endangering at least a few million lives. No place on Earth. However, a place outside of Earth could work. A place like…like the Speed Force. Barry stood tall as he saw August running directly at him in a ray of white lightning. His body charged with orange lightning as he charged directly at him. The two directly hit each other as Barry managed to overpower August, pinning him to the ground. He could see the energy building up inside August's body as he delivered a series of punches and strikes to him, knocking him down temporarily. As August remained down, Barry instantly raced away from him in a trail of orange lightning. There was something he had to do before he permanently stopped August.

In the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, a flash orange lightning entered the Director's office as Daisy seemingly vanished from the room. Everyone inside spiraled around in confusion as they noted Daisy's disappearance.

"Barry's here?" Coulson asked.

"And he's with Daisy." Steve said.

Elsewhere in the base, in Daisy's room, Barry stopped to a halt as he and Daisy were in the room together. Daisy looked around in confusion before seeing Barry, his injuries, scratches, bruises, and damaged armor. Barry was weak as he stumbled as he barely found the energy to stand despite his injuries.

"Barry?" Daisy said, cupping his cheeks as she looked over his body. "Oh my god, what happened to you?"

"Daisy…" Barry tried to say as he weakly rested his head on her shoulder.

"Hey, c'mon." Daisy helped Barry onto the bed of her room as he sat up, looking at her.

"Daisy, listen to me," Barry said, cupping her cheeks as she held the wrists of his hands, the two of them looking into one another's eyes. "I know how to stop him. I know how to stop August…but…but I have to do something. Something dangerous."

Daisy looked at Barry in confusion. "Barry, what're you saying?"

"Daisy…I need you to know…that no matter what happens…I love you. I love you and Luke…or Emilia…and I'm sorry."

With that, Barry took off at the speed of light, leaving nothing but a trail of orange lightning in his wake. Daisy couldn't even feel him slip from her grasp as he suddenly vanished. She quickly rose to her feet as she ran back to the director's office, trying to see if and how Coulson and the others could track Barry. What he had said to her was…frightening at the least. It was as if he had been preparing to die. Daisy had to know what was going to happen to him.

Back in New York City, August and Barry were racing across the area as they continued their fight. Barry pinned August, who was glowing with more and more nuclear energy, against the wall of a building. As Barry forcefully maintained his grip, August smiled and chuckled.

"Try whatever you want, Barry," August dared with a grin. "But no matter how fast you run, you can't save everyone. Not the ones that matter to you at least. You can't nor will you be able to save Daisy or your unborn child for me."

Barry gritted with rage. "You're not gonna touch them. Ever."

Then, just as August began to release his final wave of energy, Barry grabbed him and ran at super speed, lightspeed, for a mere few milliseconds before a speed force portal opened in front of him. The portal swallowed both Barry and August together just as August's explosion went off inside it. The two speedsters had vanished.

Back in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Coulson, Daisy, the rest of the agents, and the Avengers were monitoring the situation. Barry's tracking had disappeared from the system. It wasn't there. Daisy stared in denial, tears filling her eyes as her hand shot up to her as her knees buckled before giving away. May was right next to her as she caught Daisy, holding her close as she sobbed. Steve and Tony looked down in guilt as Sam and Clint exchanged uneasy glances. Everyone in the room was put down as they all realized one truth that they didn't want to face: Barry Allen, the Flash, was gone. He was dead.

A/N: That'll be the end of this chapter. I'll provide more context on this in the next chapter and the coming ones. For now, this will be all of the Godspeed arc. Next chapter will begin the 'Earth 1 meets and unites with Earth 199999' arc.
