Anakin arrived on Mustafar, he knew he had to follow out every single order Sidious gave him otherwise it would not look real, none of this would look real. He just feared at one point that it may become real.

He never liked the separatists anyway so this wasn't the worst job in the world, though he knew it was so completely wrong.

"Lord Vader, we've been expecting you." Viceroy said so completely unaware of his fate. Anakin had his hood up and had furrowed brows, he could feel the darkness flowing through him, almost taking over and it scared him. Using the force, he hauntingly closed the doors so that no one could escape before for brutally murdering them all. He stood before Gunray and let him speak, let him beg for his life before Anakin remembered what he tried to do to Padme. Ordering her assainsation for loyalty from the trade federation was not acceptable to him and he lost it before slaughtering him too. His eyes completely burned yellow now and he was lost.

"But how can we know where he is? We cannot just walk onto that ship, Padme." Obi-Wan said softly, as they sat and tried to devise a plan to save Anakin.

"I know. I just…I cannot say what Palp…The Emperor's next move would be."

"No one can." Obi-Wan added. She sighed softly and ran her hand through her hair, as Leia turned in her sleep on the small sofa. She began to have a nightmare, like Anakin used to.

"No…daddy…no. Stop…" She muttered out, flinching and tossing slightly. "Daddy!" she yelled before she shot up.

"Leia." Padme called to her softly before going to sit next to her. "It was just a dream, baby." She whispered, wanting to comfort her.

Leia just looked at her, "No. It wasn't." She said simply. "It was real."

"Your father used to have bad dreams too, but they are just dreams." Padme reassured her.

"No. Daddy is in trouble. I saw it." She said adamantly.

"What did you see Leia?" Obi-Wan asked.

"I saw…fire." She whispered. "Yellow eyes and fire, like Lava." She added. "People were feeling scared, dying." She said softly.

Obi-Wan clenched his jaw. "He's on Mustafar." He said simply.

"What is he doing on Mustafar?" Padme asked, before arching her brow.

"I don't know. I only know that the seperatist leaders are based there." Kenobi added.

"Obi-Wan, Anakin hates the separatists." Padme said softly. It took him a moment before he realized.

"Palpatine has ordered Anakin to assassinate them. He knows the Empire cannot have complete power whilst they are alive and Palpatine knows Anakin's hatred for them. Padme, if he carries this assasination out, he could turn to the dark side completely." He said standing up.

"Then we have to go now."

"We? No, I must go." Obi-Wan added. "He is my Padawan."

"And he is my husband."

"What off the children?"

"Owen and Beru, they're here. They told me where they would be waiting. We will take them there and then we will go." She told him simply. Obi-Wan clenched his jaw and swallowed hard.

"You promised you would take care of my children and now I need you to take care of them. Anakin is in danger and needs my help." Padme said softly.

"Anything. Anything we can do to help. You are family." Beru said softly. Owen clenched his jaw.

"Just, stay safe okay?" He said softly. Padme nodded before bending down to her children.

"I have to go now, but I promise you I will come home to you. To both of you." Padme told them.

"Do you have to go?!" Luke asked sadly.

"Yes. I have to go save daddy." She saids softly. "I will bring him back."

"You promise?" Leia asked.

"I promise." She added. "I know you do not see me as your mother yet and that is okay, because in time you will." She said softly. "But I want you to know that you are my daughter and I love you so much. I love you both so much and I am so proud of you." She whispered. "I need you to stay with your aunt and uncle for a while, be good for them and keep being brave." She added. "Always look after each other and remember the force will guide you, always." She said softly before pulling them into a hug and leaving, knowing they didn't have much time.

Anakin stood, watching the lava rivers flow through the planet and the machinery do its work as he went over what he had just done in his head, what he was becoming. A tear had fallen down his cheek and the sheer pain he was causing, all for his family. As much as he hated the dark side and as much as he was fighting it, a part of him was letting it take control and it wouldn't be long now until he was gone for sure.

It was only a moment later that he saw a ship appear into the atmosphere and land on the landing dock where he had. Sensing it was Padme he dropped his hood and instantly ran to her. Grabbing her in his arms tightly, their reunion was so bittersweet.

"What are you doing out here?" Anakin asked her, confused and concerned.

"I was so worried about you." She said honestly.

"Where are the children?" He asked simply, holding onto her hips.

"They're safe." She said softly. "Anakin, don't do this. You're a good person." She told him.

"This is the only way to save you, Padme. To keep you and the twins safe." He said simply.

"But at what cost? Anakin, this isn't you." Padme begged him, she could feel that he was slipping away from her.

"I can't lose you Padme, I can't lose Leia or Luke. Not the way I lost my mother." He said simply. "If this is what I have to do, then so be it." He added. Padme swallowed hard and looked at him. "I have missed this feeling, Padme. This power. I am becoming more powerful than any Jedi has ever dreamed of and I'm doing it for you." He said with a slight smirk. "To protect you. All of you."

Padme began breathing heavier, knowing she was losing her husband. Moving her hands to his hair she swallowed hard. "Come away with me. To Naboo, where we'll raise our children." She said softly. "Leave everything else behind whilst we still can." She begged him.

"Can't you see what I'm trying to do here?! I'm trying to keep you safe. Bring peace to the galaxy, I am more powerful than the Emperor, I can overthrow him. Then we can rule the galaxy together, with our children by our side. Where they belong." He was lost, he was doing this to protect them but the dark side had a way of manipulating a person and it was heartbreaking. It was almost as if he had no clue what he was saying anymore, as if it was not him speaking.

Padme took a few steps back, shaking her head slightly. "I don't believe what I'm hearing. Anakin! You are choosing this power, the dark side over your family. Over your children. Over Leia." She said simply, knowing Leia would probably get through to him. "Leia needs you, she does not need this, she does not need your darkness, she needs her father!" She said simply, begging him to stop all of this now.

This only infuriated him slightly. "Don't tell me what Leia needs! I know what Leia needs, I am her father! And you don't even know her." He said harshly, he was protective of Leia, of course he would be but that hurt Padme. She swallowed hard and tried to fight back her hurt, but she felt her eyes water and heartbreak. She knew this was not her husband, she knew this was not the man she married, he would not be so harsh.

"Anakin…you're breaking my heart." She whispered out, as she began panting through her shaky breaths and tears building up in her eyes. "You're going down a path I can't follow." She said shakily. "This is not how I wanted us to reunite, we have done this once before. Please…stop this now." She begged him.

"Because of Obi-Wan?" Anakin asked simply, noticing his former master on the ship with his lightsaber in his hand, he instantly felt like Padme had betrayed him, like she had spent her 5 years with him, like she had brought him here to kill him.

"Because of what you have done! What you plan to do!" She called him.

"And what of Obi-Wan? Is that why I could not find you? You have been with him this whole time?!"

"No! Anakin, just stop! Stop this now, please. I love you!" She yelled at him, but not in an angry way, in a sad, heartbroken way. Anakin clenched his jaw and looked at Obi-Wan, all his hatred for Palpatine seemed to go directly to Obi-Wan.

"LIAR!" He yelled, this made Padme flinch. Turning to see Obi-Wan come down she felt her heart shatter, she knew he was there but she also knew Anakin would think she had betrayed him if he saw her.

"You're with him!" He yelled, walking towards her rather threateningly, as she walked back.

"NO!" She yelled to him, but she was genuinely terrified.

"You brought him here to kill me!" He yelled to her, lifting his arm up to force choke her. Padme let out a gasp as her own hands went to her throat, "Anakin…" She whispered out.

"Let her go, Anakin!" Obi-Wan yelled.

"LET. HER. GO." He ordered again, before Anakin finally did and watched his wife fall to the floor.

"You've turned her against me!" He yelled.

"You have done that yourself!" Obi-Wan told him. Anakin was furious and thought Obi-Wan was trying to take away his family. Pacing slightly, he dropped his cloak and kept his eyes on him the entire time.

"YOU WILL NOT TAKE THEM FROM ME!" He yelled.

"Your anger and your lust for power have already done that." He said simply. If truth be told, he was terrified, he had not used a lightsaber in a long time and though Anakin hadn't either, he knew he was stronger than him. But Obi-Wan also knew Anakin's faults, he knew his moves and his thought process so he could potentially have the upper hand. "You have allowed this dark lord to twist your mind, until now, until now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy." He said simply, as the pair circled round.

"Do not lecture me Obi-Wan, you do not understand what it is to have a family. What you must do to keep them safe." He said simply, his back turned to him as Obi-Wan checked if Padme was still alive, which she was. "I do not fear the dark side." He said simply. "I will bring peace to the galaxy! I will keep them safe!" He said passionately, but not in a good way.

"Anakin, the peace you think you are bringing is nothing but destruction!" He yelled at him. "You are creating a galaxy where it is unsafe for you children to live in!" Obi-Wan added again.

"My children are not your concern!"

"It appears they are not yours either!" He yelled back. Knowing the twins were not on Anakin's mind at the moment. "Look at yourself! This darkness, this manipulation, you are stronger than this!" Obi-Wan yelled trying to reach out to him.

"I was weak the first time! This is my path, only my new powers can keep us all safe, so if you are not with me then you are my enemy!"

Obi-Wan swallowed hard and knew what must be done. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes…" He said simply, getting his lightsaber. "I will do what I must."

"You will try." Anakin said simply, before back flipping and clashing lightsabers with his old Master.
