CHAPTER 21
The High King was scared but put up a front of false bravado. He said, "Who are you to judge me?" Sarah walked up to Lord Folwin and slit his throat shoving him away from herself and moved away in a different direction. They gasped looking around.
Sarah said, "I am the angel of death."
Alidonna said, "I didn't do anything. I'm innocent."
Sarah laughed loudly and it echoed around the room. She started moving again and said, "Plotting to have others kidnapped, killed and tortured… Trying to take over a kingdom by being on your knees sucking off the evil creature you serve…. You self serving bitch!... You're innocent of what?..." Sarah aimed her gun and shot the bitch in the arm. Alidonna screamed, holding her arm. Sarah said, "Iron is a slow poison for a bitch like you to suffer."
Alidonna said, "Oh no, please no." Sarah shot her other arm. Alidonna screamed and went to the floor. Sarah aimed her gun and put two slugs into the High King's dick. He fell back on his throne screaming in pain while Alidonna wailed. The doors began to rattle with guards trying to open them.
Lorsan said, "I'll give you money. I'll make you rich."
Sarah said, disgusted, "I don't need your fucking money. You are maggot food." She shot him in the dick. He screamed on his knees holding his crotch.
Crichton stood there scared to death Sarah tapped off her ring and revealed herself. Sarah said, "A human with no power or magic to incopacitate five evil fae. Damn shame your patch didn't work on me. I guess you all really fucked up coming after me, huh? Got you all a death sentence. Saved many future lives though." Sarah shot Crichton between the eyes. He dropped to the floor.
The High King, all red faced and pissed off, said, "I'll have your head for this you bitch!"
Sarah smiled and said, "You'll be dead by morning, stupid and it will be painful as the iron rots the viens out of all three of you. Rape. Murder. Torture. Death to you all. I just gave you what you planned for me in your evil sex torture chamber and what you have done to thousands. It's only fair you die like this, you piece of goblin dung!"
He screamed, "I hate you, you human filthy animal bitch!!!" The guards were banging on the doors.
Sarah laughed. He charged her from his throne. She side stepped him and rammed her elbow in his back slamming him down to the marble floor. He groaned. She moved away. He rolled over and he was bleeding profusely from the crotch and nose making red smears all over the white marble floors. Sarah should just leave or kill them and get it over with. She decided to make sure they die by morning. She shot the High King in the arm and thigh in places that weren't fatal right away. She went and shot Lorsan in his thigh and arm. She also shot Alidonna in the thigh. They were all screaming and the guards were trying to break down the door.
Sarah said quietly, "I 'wish' to go back to my room in the inn in Breagha with all my belongs, my Cathmere kitten, Azure and all his belongings." Sarah appeared in her room with all her belongings. Azure materialized on the bed with his pouch, balls, litterbox, accessories and milk and meat bag.
Sarah wrote a letter to Merlara and King Elwin and Hagen. Thanking them for everything. After what she has done and has been forced to do, it made her feel like she wanted to be alone for now. She said not to come looking for her because she changed her appearance again. She wished them well for now and said she loved them. She said she would contact them as soon as she was feeling better.
She wrote one to Jareth and said the same kind of thing, but told him that she needed time to process everything and she changed her appearance again. She said that she had feelings for him but couldn't indulge into anything until she got over how she felt about putting five people to death. She said that she was sorry for complicating his life. She said out loud, "I 'wish' all four of these letters would materialize in front of each person whose name is written on the outside and release the room in the palace and this room in the inn I was staying in for regular occupancy."
Sarah gathered Azure in her arms and said, "We have to go away baby. Just for a little while." She packed up everything. And put on her cloak and put Azure around her neck. She left a note with the key on the bed and left the door open on her room. It was dark outside at 2:34am. Sarah gathered all her belongings and said, "I 'wish' Cróga was bridled, saddled and tethered outside the inn and I was transported with everything I am carrying on me to the outside steps in front." She vanished and reappeared outside in front. She tied down everything and mounted Cróga. She headed out of the city going northeast. Once out of the city she used her bracelet and was transported to a wooded area. She found a decent campsite and set up camp for the night.

Merlara, King Elwin, Hagen and Jareth all got their letters either next to their pillows, with the exception of Jareth who was not sleeping. He read his letter:
Dear Jareth,
I'm sorry, but I must go away for a while. I killed Folwin and Crichton, but your father, Alidonna and Lorsan are all poisoned with iron bullets in them at the High Palace throne room. I can't stay. I have to be on my own for a while. It doesn't mean I don't want to be with you. I just don't want to be with anyone after having to do all that. They all had been conspiring, killing, torturing and brutalizing people for a long time. Thousands, Jareth, thousands of lives snuffed out like candle flames, mostly by your father. I can't deal with the drama of your courts and kingdoms after having been forced to end the murders with killing them. I will contact you when I'm feeling better. I have changed my appearance again, so please just let me be for now. I do care deeply for you and I was going to give you my virginity last night, but now I can't even stand myself. I need to be on my own for a little while to get my head together. I'm sorry about leaving without a goodbye face to face. Be safe.
Sincerely, Sarah
—--
Jareth was stunned and sad that Sarah had to do all that. Seasoned soldiers had to deal with their first kills to survive. She was trained well but not a soldier in knowing it had to be done. She was such a kind person inside and out. It was a pity that she had to be subjected to the reality of the dark side of the fae. He was glad his father would die but sad it had to be Sarah who got her hands dirty. He would wait for her. However long it took he would wait for her and hope she was ok. He laid on his bed and would return to his kingdom in the morning after breakfast. Jareth laid down thinking about Sarah and hoping she was well.
—--
Sarah laid in her tent with Cróga outside. She listened to the animals in the dark. She cried in silence alone in the dark. She hated taking lives to save lives including her own. She killed that guy in the alley trying to rape Merlara. Why is it so different this time? Is it because this time it was five instead of one scum? She wasn't sure what it was that bothered her about it. It wasn't like they didn't need to be taken out for all the greed, murdering they were responsible for. They were a direct threat to her life. She eventually fell asleep.
Day 41
Sarah woke up in the morning with Azure licking her neck. She smiled at how adorable he was to wake up too. Sarah said, "I love you so much, my little baby." She kissed his little head and rubbed his soft little ears. He was purring so loudly.
Sarah got up and left him in the warm spot surrounded by blankets. She put on her boots and went to the bathroom. She came back and hugged Cróga. Sarah said, "I 'wish' for dark auburn red hair, my original green colored eyes and my cloak to be black again." Sarah looked at her braid and it was dark reddish brown like she asked for.
Sarah packed up everything and snacked on nuts and dried berries in her backpack and drank water. She fed Azure breakfast. She never made a fire the night before because it was too dark to forage for wood and rocks. She would continue on to the next town called Ghrinn (lovely). She rode for a few hours and came to a town where she dismounted and unpacked the horse. She went inside the inn and walked up to a fae man behind the counter wiping it down. She asked, "Do you have any rooms for two days?"
The innkeeper eyed her critically and said, "Seven silver a night, meal five coppers, drinks two and tea one." Sarah gave him one gold and four silver. He slowly gave her a key and said, "Room three." She went and dropped off her bags and locked up and took Cróga to board. When she got back to her room. She put the pouch on the bed and he jumped out. She set up Azure's litter box. He went to use it right away. She started a fire and put up her clothesline. It was lunchtime so she fed Azure his noon meal. Sarah put on her pouch, cloak and gloves. She went down to eat.
There were about ten people downstairs eating and drinking. Sarah went down and sat at the counter and asked the fae innkeeper, "What do you have for lunch and wine, please?"
He said, "Venison stew. Six coppers." Sarah laid down the money. He took it and poured her wine. He went back and got her a bowl of stew.
He curiously asked, "Did you hear that the High King was murdered with the both children of the Unicorn Kingdom? They are looking for the woman responsible. Where are you from?"
Sarah said, "Far far away." She kept eating.
He said, "That's not much of an answer."
She sighed and flatly said, "It takes four ships to sail there. You wouldn't know the name even if I told you. I'm sorry but I get asked about it alot and right now I'm not feeling so social." She knew it was a bit rude of her. She just wasn't patient about explaining everything. He backed off and took care of others wanting refills. She ate her food and went back to her room. She started heating water for a bath. She wasn't interested in going back down there.
—--
Jareth had woken up and got ready for breakfast. When he entered the dining room he saw the faces of the royal family were melancholy.
He said, "I see you all received your letters? I got mine late last night at about 2:30 in the morning." They nodded.
King Elwin said, "We will miss her terribly. She's such a good person. I have also been notified from the High Palace that Crichton and Folwin are dead. The High King and the Prince and Princess of the Unicorn Kingdom are all iron poisoned and dying, just like she said in our letters. The funny thing is they were stripped of all magic. I just wonder if she did that too? I wrote back immediately and reported what happened last night and Elsabeth's confession about his goings on. There will be an emergency meeting of the council in two days at the Highlands Court, 9 in the morning. I am to bring Elsabeth with me. They said all three of them are not expected to survive the day." Jareth talked with all of them and
Jareth knew it was the last moment he would have to say anything to his father, but didn't give a damn. He could go to rub it in his face for trying to kill the woman he loves, it all got turned around on him and got what he deserved. It just wasn't worth his time. He would wait to be notified about the death notice in his kingdom.
Jareth let it go unsaid that he was in line to be the next High King. He just didn't want to leave his kingdom to a non responsable person in charge of goblins. Truth is he would prefer to stay there. The High Throne turned his father into an elitist who thought he was above everyone and was as corrupt as they came to a point he had no idea what the hell he was doing to all those humans. He didn't want to do it without Sarah by his side.
He had to speak with Sarah. He had to know her feelings about himself and what she went through. She was hurting and all he wanted to do was hold her and let her lean on him. He would visit her in her dreams tonight. He got ready to go back to The Castle Beyond The Goblin City.
—--
That might, Sarah laid in the warm bed with Azure cuddling to her neck. Sarah looked at the wall thinking about Jareth and the taste of his lips. She missed him. Her eyes were getting heavy and she slipped into a deep sleep.
—--
Sarah was standing in the hedge maze this time by a needle stone obelisk. It was getting dusk and the lightning wasn't as bright, but not dark yet either. She had her dark brown hair flying in a strong breeze. She was wearing the dark blue nightgown again, fluttering in the wind around her feet.
Jareth walked around the hedge corner and stood facing her toe to toe. He reached his hand up and caressed her face. He said, "I miss you."
Sarah leaned into his hand. He was so comforting. She said, "I'm sorry I ran. I miss you too."
Jareth said sincerely, "You don't have to face this alone. I am with you, no matter what you're going through. Come to me, my love. I'll keep you safe from harm. I know you can too, but you work so hard protecting yourself. It is lonely without you. I won't let the council harm you. You did nothing wrong. I swear on my life, I'll stand by you." Sarah started to cry. He pulled her into his arms.
She cried out, "Why is this so different than killing the one man in the alley trying to rape Merlara? I know it was five terrible people that were blatantly torturing and killing others and getting pleasure from it. I feel like an executioner."
He tightened his hold on her and said, "You are built to defend others, but got caught in a situation that was so dark and corrupt that you had no choice but to defend and eliminate the harm from society. A soldier is trained to do that without prejudice. You're trained but not in that way. You are a kind and caring soul who got placed in a predicament, where there was only one resolution. You did the right thing. I would have done it myself if you would have let me. Elsabeth said you wanted to deal with it yourself. I was afraid if I interfered you would be angry with me. I would have even done it with you to share your burden. I love you, Sarah." She grasped his body so close he was completely against her body.
Sarah said, "I want to come to you. I'm miserable all alone here wandering from place to place. Can I wish myself to the front of the castle in the morning with my kitten and my packed horse?"
He smiled big and said, "Yes, my precious Sarah. I can't wait to feel you in my arms for real." He kissed her passionately.
The dream started to fade away.
