"Why am I doing this again?" Jeremy wonders out loud, thumb hovering over the call button.

The past two hours he had spent talking to Sigrid. Despite her doing most of the talking, he enjoyed their conversation quite a lot. The girl spoke with an unparalleled enthusiasm of her travels and the important events she had witnessed throughout the many centuries.

What he liked best was the fact that Sigrid didn't approach him in a condescending tone, but spoke to him very openly. He knew, of course, that she was hiding things, but she had answered almost all of his questions honestly, which is in stark contrast to how his sister and the Salvatores had treated him.

It was a bit difficult for Jeremy to grasp the fact that this seemingly young girl contained so much information regarding the world, but he found her company comforting of sorts, seeing as Jeremy's social life wasn't exactly rich.

"Because you wished for a distraction from your homework, and we both wish to keep your sister alive." Sigrid had a strong inclination to help the boy in any way she could, especially after the boy had reluctantly told her about his family's tragedy.

Normally Sigrid could only watch things go horribly wrong, but with her knowledge and Jeremy's ability to act in her name, she was sure she could help the Gilbert family in this matter and at the same time work on reuniting her beloved Mikaelsons.

Her first whim had been to let Jeremy approach Elijah, but then realized this might be a bit too intimidating for the teenager, so instead, she opted for a detour.

"Ah, that's it."

"Also, Rosie is the only one I trust in this town, besides you." It was a strange notion for a ghost to consider someone she had never communicated with a trustworthy friend, but after shadowing the female vampire throughout a few centuries, she had come to know the vampire quite well. Her predicament allowed her to see beneath the tough exterior Rose has put up for the outside world.

"But you've never actually interacted with her?" Jeremy asks, a puzzled look on his face.

"Correct, but I've seen that she has a kind heart and enough sense of self-preservation to be trusted with this task."

"How are you so sure she will help us?"

Sigrid smiles, touched by Jeremy's usage of the term 'us'. "This will be beneficial for her. She will be richly rewarded for her troubles and if all goes well, she will fall into the favor of the Originals. An honor bestowed upon a meager few."

"Good enough." Jeremy agrees, dialing the number of his least favorite Salvatore. "Damon?"

"Damon is currently unavailable, please don't leave a message-" Damon rolls his eyes in annoyance before shooting Rose a semi-apologetic smile for interrupting their conversation. The vampire had already been wound up tight by Jules' cryptic threat earlier in the Grill and all the drama happening with Elena and her self-appointed suicide mission, he really wasn't in the mood for whatever Jeremy wanted.

"Funny." Jeremy cuts in, not in the mood for the vampire's snark.

"Baby Gilbert, I'm kind of in the middle of something." Damon continues, unperturbed by Jeremy's interruption.

"That's great, now listen. I need to speak to-"

"I don't have time for your teenage angst laced stories and gossip, call Donovan for-" Damon halts his sardonic comment when he hears the sound of breaking glass. His eyes dart to Rose, who has immediately taken on a panic-stricken expression.

"What's going on?" Jeremy asks at once, also having heard the broken glass.

"I'm not sure."

"Then go look." Jeremy urges.

"What do you think I'm doing?" Damon snaps whilst speeding towards the living room area, closely followed by Rose.

The vampire rips one of the decorative rapiers of the wall before taking in the damage that had been done, scowling slightly at having to replace the stained-glass. His breath catches when he sees the large wolf standing near his coffee table, ears backed and sharp teeth on display.

"It's a wolf, a werewolf." Damon now sounded mildly concerned, although he tried not to. He slowly backs away, freehand pulling Rose behind him. "I'm sixty percent sure I can handle it."

Sigrid's brows furrow. Damon's cockiness would kill him sooner or later, she was well aware of this, but for her plan to work it might be better if he were to remain alive. "Jeremy, vampires don't heal from a wolf bite! You have to tell him!"

Jeremy considers it for a moment, he didn't particularly like the vampire, but surely Elena would get cross with him if she found out he could have prevented this in any way. After an unimpressed look from Sigrid, he passes the message along. "Damon, whatever you do, don't get bitten."

"Aw, you care for me, little Gilbert? How sweet." Damon mumbles, eyes still trained on the wolf, the creature looked ready to lunge at any second.

"No, you dick. A werewolf bite is lethal for vampires."

The wolf snarls, as if wanting to confirm Jeremy's statement.

"And how the hell would you know this? Are you making another essay on vampires?" Damon spits the words out whilst eyeing the beast with concern.

Jeremy shoots a furtive glance at Sigrid before blurting out the first thing that comes to mind. "The Gilbert journals."

"Fine, I believe you and your wacky ancestors. Any advice on how to get rid of the beast?" Damon feels Rose tremble behind him, and tightens his hold on her wrist, not willing to have her act impulsively, like let her play bait or play a game of lethal tag with the wolf.

"Poke it with a sword?" Jeremy mutters, not sure what else one could do in such a situation.

"Great advice, thanks." Damon deadpans before throwing the phone to the left, letting it land on the ground with a thud. There was plenty of time to chit-chat with the male descendant of the Gilbert family line after showing their unwanted guest the door.

Jeremy covers the microphone of the phone with his hand whilst looking in bewilderment at Sigrid, ignoring Damon's unhelpful commentary of what was happening in the Salvatore boarding house. "How did you know about the bite thing?"

"I've seen it happen a few times." Sigrid nibbles on her bottom lip, troubled with the recollections of suffering vampires. "The wound heals, but then it returns, the vampire in question will get awful hallucinations, it's all very messy."

"I don't like him, but I'm glad you made me warn him. Elena would be upset if Stefan's brother died." Jeremy mumbles, very aware of the ongoing phone call. The last thing he wanted was for Damon to catch anything that resembled a heartfelt comment, seeing as it would surely be used against him later on.

"And that while he is so very easy going." Sigrid grins.

"Alright, I'm still alive, so is Rose." Damon announces through the phone whilst letting himself drop ungracefully on the couch, a trembling Rose on the couch opposite of him. Not bothering to get up, he reaches behind him, smirking triumphantly when he feels the glass bottle behind him. He unceremoniously flicks the cap of it and takes a big swig before holding the bottle out for Rose to take.

"Where's the wolf?" Jeremy asks.

Damon doesn't bother to hide a smug grin. He had successfully stabbed the creature in the chest when it lunged for them, making it cower and flee. "Gone, fled. Why did you call?"

"We- I need to speak to Rose tomorrow." Jeremy stumbles over the words.

"Who is we ?" Damon asks at once, eyes narrowing in suspicion. "What are you not telling me, Baby Gilbert?"

Jeremy looks at Sigrid, hoping she might provide him with a solution.

Sigrid grimaces, this wasn't according to plan, but perhaps the annoying vampire could also be helpful. "Tell them both to come, perhaps he can make himself useful?"

" Hello ?" Damon drags the word out, earning himself an eye-roll from Rose.

Jeremy rolls his eyes at Damon's impatience before nodding. "Both of you should come, it has to do with the whole Klaus situation."

"No offense, but how can you possibly know anything about Klaus that we don't?"

"Let's say I've stumbled upon something." Jeremy grins brightly at Sigrid while wagging his eyebrows. He would be certain to tease the girl about her rather clumsy entrance in the future.

"Funny." Sigrid deadpans, normally she was very graceful when passing through walls, thank you very much.
