The next day of school Quinn watched annoyed as the members of the New Directions seemed to arrive one by one. Rachel was first to arrive with her pink rolling backpack which she heard Finn offer to take from her, which was something Quinn scoffed at. This had to stop. She could already tell that the feelings Finn once had for her were starting to develop for Rachel. He had done all of those things for Quinn when they had first started to date, carrying her backpack, offering to take her books and walk her to class. She knew she had pushed him away the last time they were together, but she was so scared that something was really wrong that she just wanted to protect him. Now she was afraid that she had pushed him right into the arms of her rival for his attention and that worried her more than anything else, especially with the stress of what could be in her life.

Grace, meanwhile, headed to the tutoring center. Being that she was at the top of her class at McKinley, Grace offered some of the other students extra help if they needed it before school on Wednesdays. She liked giving back to the school but more importantly, she enjoyed getting to spend one on one time with a particular student who she had a bit of a budding crush on.

As she got her books ready, Brittany S. Pierce entered the room smiling brightly.

"Hey Gracie," Brittany said.

"Hi Britt, you ready to get started?" Grace asked as Brittany nodded.

"Yeah totally," Brittany smiled as she got out her assignments, looking puzzled by most of them. "I just don't understand any of this," Brittany frowned a bit, showing Grace the page.

"That's okay. I'm here to help you," Grace said seriously as she read the page, trying to figure out how to convey it in terms Brittany would understand.

"Thanks for this...Coach Sylvester said I needed tutoring if I wanted to remain on the squad, my grades haven't been good," Brittany frowned.

"It's okay Brittany," Grace said squeezing her hand gently "I know school isn't the easiest for everyone and that's okay. I just don't want you to lose your spot on the Cheerios."

"Yeah me either, Last test I got 0 because I drew the town of Happyville, a place where math doesn't exist," Brittany frowned as Grace chuckled a bit.

"Well even though you don't like math, it's one of the core classes you need to pass in order to graduate," Grace said seriously.

"I thought cores were like bad and you shouldn't eat them," Brittany said confused, tilting her head.

"That's a different kind of core, Britt," Grace said softly.

"Oh," Brittany frowned, frustrated that she didn't even get that right.

"It's okay. Now, let's just make sure you pass this makeup test so you can cheer again. Okay?" Grace said as Brittany nodded.

"Okay," she smiled softly as Grace began to work on the assignments with her.

"Let's try this one, A triangle has the measure of its angles as 70 degrees, 60 degrees, and 70 degrees. What is the type of triangle?" Grace read as Brittany looked confused.

"It's a triangle," Brittany said.

"Well yes it is but there are different types, remember?" Grace said as Brittany shook her head. "Okay well the 3 types are Equilateral which means all 3 sides of the triangle are the same," Grace said.

"Okay so it's not that one," Brittany observed.

"Right. The 2nd type is Scalene, in which no sides are the same," Grace said.

"That's also not right. You said the same number twice," Brittany said.

"Right again Brittany. So the 3rd type, which is what this triangle is, it's called an Isosceles Triangle, which means 2 sides are the same and one is different," Grace said as Brittany nodded.

"That makes sense but like how can I remember different triangles," Brittany frowned.

"Well why don't we do it in drawings?" Grace said as Brittany beamed.

"I love doing it in drawings," she grinned.

"I know you do," Grace chuckled as she drew 3 different triangles. "Equilateral, means all sides are equal, so just remember that for the first one. It's the perfect triangle," Grace said.

"Kind of like Lord Tubbington," Brittany said.

"Sure," Grace chuckled a bit, knowing how much Brittany loved her cat.

"Isosceles, means that 2 sides are the same but one is different," Grace said, gesturing to the triangle.

"Kind of like how Quinn walks ahead of me and Santana," Brittany said.

"Right again," Grace smiled as she went to the last triangle "And finally we have Scalene, whose all 3 sides are different, kind of like how you, Quinn, and Santana all have different personalities."

"That totally makes sense...but how do I remember the other two names," Brittany frowned.

"Well Scalene, think of the Scale and how not everyone has the same weight at weigh in for Cheerios," Grace said as Brittany nodded.

"That totally makes sense...and Isotopes?" Brittany asked.

"Isosceles, That one's a little more tricky to remember but most of the time it's multiple choice. Just think of eyes and how they're perfectly separated and you have 2 eyes," Grace said as Brittany seemed to get it.

"You are such a great tutor thank you," Brittany grinned hugging Grace, who seemed taken aback by the hug.

"You're welcome," Grace smiled softly, hugging her back, feeling her heart racing once again as the two were close together. Brittany pulled out of the hug grinning brightly as the two worked together to finish up Brittany's assignment.

"I better get to Cheerios practice but thanks again for helping me Grace, you're the only tutor who hasn't called me stupid," Brittany frowned.

"You're not stupid Brittany. Anyone who treats you that way, clearly isn't doing their job right. Your mind just works differently than everyone else's and that's okay. We need creative people like you in the world too. High School doesn't always appreciate those who are different," Grace said simply as Brittany nodded, seeming to know where Grace was coming from.

"No they don't," Brittany agreed as she grabbed her Cheerios bag "It's why it's so important I stay on the squad, I don't want people to be bullies because bullies are bad."

"They sure are," Grace sighed, knowing how much of a problem McKinley had with bullying and how Brittany had a right to be worried, the Cheerios were immune to it, unlike the rest of the school.

"See you next Wednesday," Brittany smiled as she then left the tutoring center. Grace watched her leave knowing she had another problem on her hands, her budding feelings for the popular girl.

It wasn't that Grace would ever dream of acting on how she felt about Brittany. She knew better. The two were from two completely different crowds, Grace being a theater nerd and Brittany being in the popular crowd, besides that she knew how cruel the students of McKinley High were. If they ever knew how Grace felt, she would be mocked for it. She had been so incredibly confused about her feelings over the summer. She had always thought you were straight or gay. She had crushes on boys before, she also never acted on those for fear of rejection or being ridiculed. Up until the move, she had thought she only had feelings for boys, that is until she met Brittany S. Pierce.

Brittany had an innocence about her that Grace found endearing, not to mention Brittany seemed to only see the positive in life, something Grace had always wished she could see too. At first, Grace thought her feelings for Brittany were just admiration, of course she admired the girl who was unapologetically herself, something Grace had struggled with for a long time. It wasn't until this summer that she realized what her feelings were truly about. She had made quite a lot of friends at theater camp who had helped her come to terms with a lot of things including her sexuality.

It helped her grow as a person over the summer where she learned to speak up more for herself and for others. It's why she had left the kind comment on Rachel's video on MySpace. If it had been a year ago, she wouldn't have stood up for herself the way she had against the rumors and bullies. What she realized was that her power was standing up on her own two feet and not letting anyone take that power away from her. She sincerely hoped one day her fear of failure would go away and she'd ask someone out on a date.

Meanwhile, Sue had sent Quinn and Santana to get Mr. Schuester so she could talk him into finding his recruits for the New Directions anywhere but in the popular crew. Santana rolled her eyes as she saw him and Miss Pillsbury flirting in the hall.

"God, can she be any more desperate?" Santana said sardonically as Quinn bit her lip, finding Miss Pillsbury pretending to 'accidentally' bump into him kind of pathetic.

"So pathetic," Quinn agreed as the two walked down the stairs as they approached Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury.

"Get a room," Santana told them sardonically.

"Miss Sylvester wants to see you in her office Mr. Schue," Quinn told him seriously as she called it over her shoulder as she walked "She doesn't like to be kept waiting!"

"You got it," Mr. Schue chuckled nervously as he made his way to Sue's office as Quinn and Santana smirked, knowing they had done their jobs.

Quinn noticed Finn at his locker and approached him.

"We need to talk," she muttered under her breath, trying to whisper so other people didn't hear their conversation.

"What do we need to talk about?" Finn asked, confused, clearly unsure of what she was upset about this time.

"About you rejoining the Glee Club? Are you insane?" Quinn said upset as she sighed "We are in line to be the most popular kids in the school over the next couple years," Quinn said annoyed.

"Yeah, I know," Finn said.

"Prom king and queen. Homecoming court royalty. I am not giving up those shiny crowns just so you can express yourself," Quinn gritted through her teeth.

"Look, you're making too big a deal out of this," Finn said, shaking his head as Rachel, whose locker was nearby, began to listen in.

"Okay. Let's compromise," Quinn said, trying to make a deal with Finn, hoping it would be enough "If you quit the club, I'll let you touch my breast."

"Under the shirt?" Finn asked in a hopeful tone.

"Over the bra," Quinn gritted again as Finn seemed to think about it, feeling incredibly conflicted over what he should do.

"No. No, I can't," Finn said shaking his head as Quinn scoffed.

"I want to do Glee. I'm really happy when I'm performing," Finn said honestly.

"People think you're gay now, Finn. And you know what that makes me? Your big gay beard," Quinn said annoyed.

"Look. I- I gotta go to class. Okay? Just relax. Everything's gonna work out," Finn smiled a bit as he closed his locker and left for his class.

Quinn however, noticed Rachel who had intently been listening in.

"Eavesdrop much?" Quinn huffed as she slammed Rachel's locker shut stepping in front of her. "Time for some girl talk, man hands. You can dance with him. You can sing with him. But you will never have him," Quinn gritted as Rachel seemed unphased

"I understand why you'd be threatened. Finn and I have made a connection," Rachel said as Quinn scoffed "But I'm an honorable person. I don't need to steal your man. I have plenty of suitors of my own. Every day Glee's status is going up, and yours is going down. Deal with it."

Rachel then turned to walk away as she is hit in the face by two slushies thrown by Puck and another jock. Quinn can't contain her laughter as Puck and the jock high five and walk away, Rachel however looks devastated knowing that once again she was going to have to get herself cleaned off and changed before her first period.

Quinn couldn't help but be devastated that her plan for getting Finn out of the Glee Club wasn't working out. Was he truly that far gone with Rachel that he was more into her than Quinn? She was so scared of losing him, especially now that she was pretty sure her world was going to be turned upside down one way or another. She also didn't believe Rachel in the least. No guys were interested in her that Quinn knew of and was Rachel really that honorable? Rachel seemed to be throwing herself at Quinn's boyfriend from every angle as far as Quinn was concerned. She was also terrified that she was going to lose her spot as captain of the Cheerios. If she didn't get Finn to quit, Sue had assured her that she would look elsewhere for a Cheer Captain, and that was something Quinn couldn't afford to lose. She knew she had to come up with a backup plan and fast, she just couldn't figure out what it was that she needed to do to maintain her status as captain, but she was sure it would come to her, eventually.
