Late that afternoon, it was time for the Celibacy Club meeting. Quinn was hoping maybe this meeting could bring her and Finn closer together, after all they had been falling apart the last few days and she was scared of what that meant for her future. She was still questioning whether or not she should give Puck a chance but knew that was a risky path to take, especially since he and Santana seemed to be back on again judging by how much Santana had been bragging about their chances to take homecoming king and queen right from under her.
Grace arrived with her sister, ready for another celibacy club meeting, knowing she was the only non-cheerio member of the club. She knew most of the members only joined because Quinn ordered them to as their cheer captain. Other than Grace, none of the members were celibate and that now included her sister. Grace wondered how long Quinn would be able to keep up the charade that she was Queen of the chastity ball, especially since with each passing day it was more likely that she was pregnant.
Much to both of the twins' surprise, they were met with a new member at the door of the math classroom.
"Can we help you?" Quinn said glaring at Rachel who was waiting there.
"Yes, I was hoping to join the celibacy club," Rachel said seriously as Quinn glared at her.
"And why on Earth do you want to join? Is it perhaps because of my boyfriend?" Quinn said annoyed.
"What? No! Of course not. I just think you're doing valuable work," Rachel lied as Grace bit her lip, having a feeling it had everything to do with Finn and nothing to do with what the celibacy club was about.
"Sure you do. Thanks to a terrible school rule, I can't refuse to let you into the club, but just so you know, if I could, you wouldn't make the cut," Quinn shot at Rachel who didn't react much to this. "I know," Rachel said simply as she took a set opposite of the Cheerios in the classroom.
Quinn took her seat in the center of things, being that she was president, she had a designated seat. She had Santana and Brittany on either side of her along with many of the other Cheerios. Grace was torn on where to sit. She didn't want to leave Rachel all alone but she knew Quinn would kill her if she tried to approach her. So, she opted to sit between the two sides, alone, hoping she wouldn't get caught up in the cat fight between Rachel and Quinn.
Quinn pounded the gavel 3 times, to call the meeting to order.
"The Celibacy Club is now in session. Thanks to a school rule that says we have to let anyone join the club, we're welcoming a new member this week, Rachel What's-her-name," Quinn said in an annoyed tone as most of the cheerios looked disapprovingly at Rachel.
Grace tried to smile at her, hoping to make Rachel feel welcome but Quinn shot Grace a glare as Grace then looked away.
"Where are all the boys?" Rachel asked, looking around confused. "Down the hall. First half hour we separate, then we come together to share our faith," Quinn gritted through her teeth, annoyed to have to explain to Rachel how this club worked.
"Why?" Rachel asked, confused as Quinn scoffed.
"Why do I have to explain everything to you?" Quinn said, annoyed as the other Cheerios chuckled.
"It's so we can talk about the boys, dwarf," Santana quipped smirking a bit as she reapplied her lipstick.
Rachel sighed, not wanting to ask any other questions as Grace looked like she felt sorry for her.
"Anyway, these skirts are such kryptonite to the boys, you had to see the way Puckerman was looking at me when I bent over the other day," Santana smirked as she began to twirl in her skirt.
"God bless the perv that invented these. Remember the power motto, girls," Quinn reminded them.
"It's all about the teasing, and not about the pleasing," All the cheerios said as they began to dance in place, showing off clearly how superior we were to Rachel, who seemed annoyed with them, rolling her eyes at them. Grace didn't look any more pleased than Rachel, as the Cheerios were distracted being full of themselves, Grace took the opportunity to talk to Rachel.
"I'm sorry I didn't sit by you or welcome you to the club," Grace said honestly.
"How could you with your sister shooting daggers through her eyes at me," Rachel said with a shrug as Grace sighed.
"I know I shouldn't be so afraid of her but Quinn can be kind of intense when she doesn't get her way and you joining is definitely getting in her way," Grace said honestly as Rachel shook her head.
"I just don't get what the point of this club even is. Other than for the Cheerios to once again show off," Rachel said looking at the Cheerios who were still dancing together.
"Well...the club is supposed to be a place where we can try to help each other through staying celibate until marriage. The reason the guys and the girls are split is so we can talk about issues we're having without having to be embarrassed," Grace said honestly.
"Are any of them even celibate?" Rachel scoffed at the Cheerios.
"Other than Quinn, doubtful," Grace said somewhat truthfully "But this club means a lot to her and with her being cheer captain, they pretty much had to do what she said or she was going to get them kicked off the squad."
"Typical," Rachel said, rolling her eyes as Grace sighed again.
"Look, Quinn and I don't always see eye to eye, but what I do know is saving herself is important to her and while it would be nice to have people in the club who actually feel that way, we just don't," Grace said softly as Rachel shook her head.
"What's the point of having the club then if no one actually cares about the rules of it?" Rachel asked.
"Well..I do," Grace said honestly "Taking the vow of celibacy is important to me. I know it probably doesn't make me cool but I was raised a certain way and I hope to stay that way, at least through high school anyway."
"I get it, I mean I want to save myself at least until I'm 30 and have won a major award," Rachel said seriously as Grace couldn't help but admire her ambition.
"That's a good goal to have...all I know is I just want to know the person I'm with is truly the one for me. If I can wait until I'm married, great but if I'm sure sooner than that, then that's okay too," Grace said honestly, feeling for the first time she could have a meaningful conversation with someone in the celibacy club other than Quinn.
"If you two are done making out we're going to meet up with the boys," Santana shot at Rachel and Grace interrupting their conversation.
"I totally forgot they were here," Brittany said innocently as Grace chuckled a bit, getting up, trying her best to ignore Santana. The girls all headed to the history classroom where they met up with the boys. Quinn quickly took Finn's hand
"Hey. How was the boys meeting?" she asked him, smiling softly.
"Fine, I guess. How was it with the girls...wait did Rachel join?" Finn asked, confused as he looked over seeing Rachel.
"Eyes back to me," Quinn snapped at Finn who quickly turned back to Quinn.
"Sorry..I just didn't expect to see her," Finn apologized.
"It's fine. I didn't either. I guess she just decided to join," Quinn shrugged as she began to blow up balloons for the Immaculate Affection, an exercise where they had to keep a balloon between their pelvises, trying to teach them to not get turned on by being so close to each other.
"Alright everyone. Pair up for the immaculate affection," Quinn announced as she took Finn by the hand, clearly not wanting anyone else to pair up with him "Now remember, if the balloon pops, the noise makes the angels cry," she reminded the group as Grace shook her head, pairing up with Matt Rutherford, a football player on the Titans who Quinn had fixed Grace up with for homecoming. Rachel was left being the odd girl out and had to be with Jacob Ben Israel, a freshman who was obsessed with her, something she didn't seem too pleased about. Quinn gave everyone their balloons as the immaculate affection began.
Quinn smiled up lovingly at Finn as they had the balloon between them. She had a feeling they would do the best at this test, knowing how much they had restrained themselves in the past. Quinn's mind was still filled with worry if this was what was pushing Finn away from her, but she tried to block that worry out of her mind.
Puck, however, found the assignment hilarious and started grinding on the balloon between him and Santana, trying to also get Quinn's attention.
"Take it ahh yeah," Puck murmured as Santana struggled to get away.
"Stop it!" Santana frowned trying to get away.
Quinn couldn't help but get more and more furious at him. This was why Quinn had her reservations about Puck. He always tended to be incredibly crude and made fun of what Quinn believed in, even going as far to join the celibacy club to cause chaos at every assignment, something she didn't appreciate in the least. Unlike Finn, who was always respectful and tried to do exactly what Quinn asked. The more Quinn thought about it, the more she realized breaking up with Finn was the wrong move. Puck was too immature to be with her in a real sense and would probably pressure her to have sex with him again, something Quinn definitely wasn't willing to do.
Grace rolled her eyes at Puck, unamused by his usual antics at the celibacy club meeting.
"Does he have to do that every time?" Matt whispered to Grace, also seeming slightly annoyed by Puck.
"It's Puck...what did you expect," Grace whispered back, shaking her head.
"I guess you have a point," Matt agreed as they soon heard a balloon pop, everyone's heads turned to Santana and Puck, expecting it to be theirs but were surprised to see their balloon intact but heard Quinn shriek upset
"Finn!"
Quinn was horrified that their balloon was first to pop.
"It must've hit my zipper," Finn said nervously, trying to reassure Quinn who scoffed at him. Rachel then broke away from Jacob knowing she had to say something.
"You know what? This is a joke," Rachel said as everyone looked at her shocked that someone would speak against the club. Grace knew this couldn't be good as Quinn shot daggers once again at Rachel as she spoke.
"Did you know that most studies have demonstrated that celibacy doesn't work in high schools? Our hormones are driving us too crazy to abstain. The second we start telling ourselves that there's no room for compromise we act out. The only way to deal with teen sexuality is to be prepared. That's what contraception is for," Rachel said.
"Don't you dare mention the "C" word," Quinn scoffed, annoyed by Rachel's outburst.
"You want to know a dirty little secret that none of them want you to know? Girls want sex just as much as guys do," Rachel said as she left the room as the guys seemed impressed by her speaking out as they watched her leave.
"I- Is that accurate?" Jacob asked breathlessly.
"Of course not!" Quinn huffed.
"Seems like it to me," Puck smirked.
"You know what? This meeting is over," Quinn said, annoyed as she stormed out of the classroom. Finn watched her go incredibly worried that she was mad at him along with Rachel.
Grace followed her twin sister out of the classroom quickly, worried about Quinn.
"HOW DARE SHE INFILTRATE MY CLUB AND SAY THAT!" Quinn exclaimed upset as she was shaking from anger as Grace tried to comfort Quinn.
"I'm so sorry Quinn...I didn't think she would do that," Grace said, trying to be supportive.
"I knew I should've just kicked her out at the door, but no. I had to be good and Christian-like and let her stay," Quinn said emotionally as Grace rubbed her sister's back, knowing she was on the verge of tears.
"I know...come on...let's go home, okay?" Grace tried to comfort Quinn who nodded, trying to contain her tears until they left the school.
The second they got to the car Quinn bursted into tears.
"Shh...hey it's okay," Grace said, hugging her sister, letting Quinn sob into her.
"No, it's not...Finn's lost interest in me and popped that stupid balloon first...and now everyone thinks I'm a joke," Quinn said emotionally.
"That's not true...come on now, I think you know perfectly well why your balloon popped. Finn wants to be with you so much that being that close to you got him excited," Grace said seriously as Quinn wiped her eyes, knowing Grace had to be right.
"Maybe you're right...but I don't know what to do to get him back Gracie," Quinn said, upset as Grace bit her lip.
"I have one solution...but I don't think you're going to like it," Grace said honestly as Quinn looked at her.
"I'm desperate Grace, I will do anything," Quinn said seriously.
"Okay," Grace said taking a deep breath "What if you showed Finn that you supported him being a part of the glee club, by joining yourself?"
It was in that moment that Quinn knew Grace's instincts were right, she wasn't liking this at all, but at the same time, maybe Grace had a point. Quinn could see exactly what was going on between Finn and Rachel first hand if she joined the club. It would be a way to keep them apart, but she didn't want to join alone, she had to figure out a way to get Brittany and Santana to join her.
"I'll think about it," Quinn said honestly as Grace smiled a bit, excited that she may have recruited a new member to help out the New Directions, but more importantly she felt she had helped Quinn revitalize her relationship with Finn. Grace just hoped it wasn't too little, too late.
