When Snape heard about Victoria's behaviour, he sighed, but he didn't seem all that surprised. "Thank you, Professor McGonagall, I shall deal with her accordingly."

Victoria didn't like the sound of that, and she nibbled on her lip nervously.

Snape waited to actually talk to her until McGonagall was out of his office. "For someone who does not want to be like their parents, then you are certainly on the wrong path, Lestrange."

"But Professor, he was making fun of Neville!"

"I do not care about that measly little Gryffindor. You are a Slytherin, Lestrange, and you more than most of your fellow Slytherins have a reputation to keep up. What you do, your actions, they help define our house, or they hinder our reputation, and currently you are proving to do the latter."

"It's not like I'm trying to, Professor-"

"Enough. You will have detention with me on Saturday. Now get out of my sight."

Victoria grumbled under her breath as she left his office.

"Bad day?" Blaise called out. He was leaning against a wall. "Draco was going on and on about how you had tried to kill him."

"What a load of bull. I hadn't even said a spell or anything yet. I wouldn't have killed him anyway, i would have turned him into a pig, or maybe a weasel or something."

Blaise smirked at that. "Now that's something I'd like to see. You already missed one class, let's not be late for the next one."

"Remind me which class that is again?"

"History of Magic."

Victoria groaned at that. "Are you serious? Well, I'll get a nap in at least, I suppose that's something."

"Have you always been one for the dramatics?"

"I live with Fred and George, they thrive for the dramatics of things, so I suppose that it was going to be passed on to me eventually."

Blaise gave a laugh at that. "You're a strange girl, you know that?"

"I'm not strange, you're just used to prissy girls."

"Prissy girls?" Blaise asked, an eyebrow arched.

"Yeah, you know, the ones that are obsessed with their hair and their makeup and all that, the ones who think that they're something just because they have a bit of money to their name."

Blaise let out another laugh. "I wish that you would say that to Pansy, that would really knock her down a peg or two."

"As much as I would love to do that, I've already gotten myself into enough trouble with Professor Snape, and I would rather not get into any more. What's his problem anyway? He's so sour all of the time, it's like no one taught him how to smile and have fun."

Blaise shrugged his shoulders. "From what I've heard, he's been like that for forever. You know that he was a follower of You-Know-Who in the war?"

Victoria stopped dead in her tracks and looked at him. "What?"

"Yeah, but I guess that he double-crossed him or something and was acting as a spy for Dumbledore. It's common knowledge, you didn't know that?"

"Molly and Arthur never really told me a lot about the war, all I know is that Molly lost two brothers in the war, they're who George and Fred are named after. Their names were Fabian and Gideon, I think."

"People come up with such weird names."

"Like Blaise is any better?" Victoria teased him. "I'm not gonna lie, that sounds like a girl's name to me."

"I didn't think that you were so mean."

"If I were mean, I would have done a little hex to go along with that roast, maybe given you long hair or something like that."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Oh, but I would. As soon as I learned the spell for it, of course."

"You don't even know the hex and you're already threatening me. How very Weasley of you."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

They soon reached the History of Magic classroom, and she slid in next to Ron.

"How did it go?" He whispered in her ear.

"I have detention on Saturday, but it could probably have been a lot worse. At least I didn't lose a whole bunch of points though. I think that I'll tell the twins what happened, I'm sure that they have some way of getting back at Malfoy for what he did and said."

"They're always looking for a chance to prank someone. You ask them and I'm sure that they would get back at Malfoy for you. I mean, I would, but I don't really know any spells or anything yet."

"Neither do I, which is why I'm going to leave the pranking to Fred and George, although I might have them teach me a spell or two so that I don't have to rely on them all of the time."

"If they teach you something, then you need to show me it, because I'd like to do a thing or two to Malfoy myself."

"Will you quit talking?!" Hermione hissed at them from the row behind. "In case you haven't noticed, some of us are trying to focus on this lesson."

Ron rolled his eyes before slumping down in his seat. "A right nightmare, she is."

"Oh come on Ron, she isn't that bad."

"You're not in the same house as her, when we're in the common room, and we're not doing much of anything, she's asking us why we aren't studying. Not all of us spend all day with our noses in books."

"I'm sure that she's nice once you get to know her. You could be friends."

Ron let out a snort at that. "The day that I become friends with Hermione Granger is the day that the world will come to an end."
