2/5 for today!

(Here is where the depression chapters start)

Wednesday, October 1, 1998

Hermione dragged herself out of bed and to work that morning, but could barely convince herself to do any teaching. She watched her students work through their potions and assigned them in class reading.

"Changing of the seasons?" Neville asked, sitting down heavily next to her during lunch.

"Yeah," she said quietly. "I can already feel the sadness creeping in. It's just… I know I have such a fortunate life, but I can't…"

"And that's depression for you," Neville said knowingly. "I watched my Uncle go through this for years, but no one ever wanted to talk about it, at least that's a little better now."

"That's true," Hermione said with a sigh. "It makes me not want to read or write or do anything."

Neville just sat with her as they ate their lunch in silence. "You should talk to Theo and Draco about this," he said as he was leaving. "You have a lot of people who care about you, let us do our jobs…"

She nodded, knowing she wouldn't ask anyone for help. This was something she had to fix.
