The sound of soft tapping on his office door drew Levi's gaze from the paperwork he'd been finishing for the day. It annoyed him when someone bothered him near the end of the day. So when the tapping came again, a bit more hesitant, he chose to ignore it.

Turning his attention back to his work, Levi again wondered how Erwin had done this so easily for years. Hell, five years ago, it had been shocking enough when Erwin finally stepped down and appointed him as the new commander. But Levi missed being in the field. Desk work sucked.

Time seemed to fly by when a loud knocking that was familiar drew his gaze back to his office door. Wondering what they wanted, Levi kept from twitching as he called for the person to enter.

Levi was surprised when he saw four young men at the door. The tallest met his gaze head-on with bright leaf-green eyes from under auburn hair. It had been a rough road earning any respect or trust from Shippo after his eldest son's birth. In fact, Levi could still feel the punch Shippo had landed that day twelve years ago.

Letting his gaze shift to the other three, Levi felt pride swell in his chest. His eldest, Levi Junior, was almost a perfect replica of himself, except for his blue eyes, which were like his mother's. The boy was a true Ackerman and getting taller and taller.

The last two were his ten-year-old twins, Erwin and Liam. They were a good blend between him and Kagome. Liam had the Ackerman gray eyes, while Erwin had Kagome's blue. Both intelligent and creative, if not vindictive. And he was sure some of the gray hairs he'd started finding in the past year were from them.

Curious about why all four of his children were in his office, Levi raised his eyebrows.

"Sorry to bother you, sir," Levi Jr said. "But we are helping someone deliver something important."

Before he could respond, they split to reveal a tiny girl with black curly hair, large blue eyes in a pale oval face wearing a cute green dress with a gray bow. Levi could see she was nervous from how she fidgeted. Her tiny hands were holding a white envelope with his name written in colorful letters.

Lifting a hand, Levi beckoned the girl forward. He was watching as she shuffled hesitantly toward him. It bothered him; she was intimidated by him. He always took great care not to scare her. Because he caught several kinds of hell from every woman he knew, on top of his four sons(especially the twins) and Erwin.

"H-here you go, D-daddy."

Blinking at the envelope, she slid onto his desk. Levi let his daughter back away before picking it up and opening it. When he read the card's contents, he couldn't help but smile.

"I'll RSVP now and try to be on time, Kuchel," he said in his softest voice.

Seeing her face light up made Levi want to get up and hold her. But with how timid she was, he stayed seated. The happy look on his soon-to-be four-year-old daughter's face was worth it. She was an exact copy of Kagome. He was delighted that Kagome named her after his mother.

Watching and the group left, Levi waited. A few minutes later, his office door was opened again with no knock. Levi knew who it was. Standing and walking around the desk, Levi opened his arms. The warm smile on Kagome's face as she closed the distance and slipped into his embrace.

"So why all of this pomp and circumstance, wife?" he asked.

"Because Kuchel wanted to make sure you showed up," Kagome whispered as she rubbed her cheek against his. "And she said she is a big girl and wanted to hand out the invitations herself. I even got one."

Realizing his daughter was as intelligent and capable as his sons, Levi chuckled softly.

"Also, Liam and Erwin were practicing with me to harness and control their Reiki," Kagome blurted out, causing Levi to stiffen. "And Kuchel mimicked them and manifested herself. So your life is going to get even messier, babe."

Biting back a groan at his darling wife's choice of words, Levi realized his daughter would be even more sought after as she grew up. His four sons would now have more reason to act like obsessive, overprotective fools(Not that he, himself, wouldn't join in). But he'd not change any of it. He was enlightened twelve years ago.

"I'll accept this mess gladly, Kagome. You are the brats are the best kind of mess a man could ask for," Levi said as he placed a sweet, gentle kiss on the crown of her head.

THE END~!
