I meant to... post this last week. Sorry about that! Enjoy!

There's a certain feeling Eda would get when she and Raine cooked together. Happiness. Peace.
Usually the house was silent during this, but tonight, a soft song played in the background. The choice of song was one of Raine's former classmates, who they'd gotten a record from as a birthday present a few years ago. The music drifted from the living room on the record player Eda had stolen the prior month.
Unfortunately for Eda and Raine, with an entire child about to enter their lives, money was bound to be tighter. After realizing that getting food from the Human Realm was cheaper (and easier to get Eda to go to with Raine) the couple has been trying more delicacies from there. Tonight they were trying spaghetti, noodles topped with a sauce made from tomatoes and other additives along with ground beef. Apparently, from what Eda had read up on, ground beef was from cows. She'd seen a few before in her travels in the other realm.
Cooking was easy. All Eda had to do was stand in front of the counter or kitchen table and occasionally walk to the cabinet to grab something. Something she'd been dealing with was the fact that, considering she was very pregnant, she had a few extra kilos on her frontside. It barely helped with the internal exhaustion she was already dealing with.
The couple stood side by side in front of the kitchen table with two makeshift portable stoves. They didn't own one an actual stove, like one from the human realm. To make Spaghetti apparently they needed one, so Raine made two from some of Eda's human junk parts. Eda was currently wearing a sweatshirt with bold lettering Connecticut University plastered on the front along with a pair of sweatpants. Most of the clothes she wore were from the human realm now, since she refused to buy any maternity clothes in Bonesborough or really anywhere on the Boiling Isles. Raine, though, stayed in their normal everyday wear, a vest over a button up shirt and black slacks.
"What do you think about getting a swing?" Raine asked. Eda looked up to her partner. They leaned against the table, keeping their eyes on the pan.
"Why do you want to put up a swing?" Eda chuckled, going back to look at the spaghetti.
"I dunno… just…" The witch saw them out of the corner of her eye looking embarrassed by the question.
"I'm going to guess, for the future?" Eda said. Raine snickered and nodded.
"I'm a dork, aren't I," The mint haired bard smiled.
"You're my dork though," Eda called back as she continued to stare into the abyss of the boiling water and noodles. Raine squeaked and covered their mouth, "You still act like we're 15, huh?" She put the spoon to the side and turned her body to face Raine.
"You're so pretty," Raine said back. They had a wildly goofy grin on their face that couldn't keep Eda from hiding her own joy at Raine's presence.
That was the thing she loved about Raine. Even on her worst days, just seeing them happy turned it all around.
She missed simpler times that always felt like this.
"I don't mind getting a swing, I think it'd be nice for us," Eda said. She wouldn't mind spending one of her many… many long days alone outside on a swing staring out into the ocean distance.
"I can't wait for us to be able to push our kid on a swing, " Raine added. Eda internally grimaced at that comment. As much as she enjoyed Raine's adorable banter about… well, their kid, she didn't particularly enjoy the idea of how she was really going to be a mom.
"So be sure we put it far away from the cliff," She told herself a lighthearted joke would pull her away from those thoughts.
"Noted, if they're anything like you who knows what they'll be capable of!" Raine chuckled. Eda turned back to the noodles to see if they were almost done.
The more she thought about it the more she'd accepted it, that she was going to be a mom, but it was still hard to directly acknowledge. She didn't… she didn't want it to be true, she knew that much.
Eda was still trying though. The kicks she'd feel every now and again still surprised her. Today though, at least they'd been calmer.
"Hopefully my Moms don't try figuring out another name tomorrow," Raine said, "I don't think I can handle another comment about them trying to get us to name our kid Florance."
"Oh Titan, yeah, I think I'll start screaming," Eda warmed back up, "Maybe literally this time."
"Don't do that please," Raine said, "I know they're a bit much but… they're still my Moms, you know?"
"… I suppose I do," Eda didn't have the heart to correct that she, in fact, did not have any contact with either of her parents. She noticed the noodles were done and grabbed the handles of the pot.
Only to be met by Raine's hands.
"I've got it," They interjected, meeting her eyes.
They quickly took it and approached the sink. They turned the water on and began straining the noodles.
The one thing about Raine that had been mildly driving Eda mad.
They tried doing so much more for her now.
Just because she was seven and a half months pregnant didn't mean she was incapable of doing everything.
While Raine had their back turned Eda allowed herself to have a scornful expression. Even if it was only for a few seconds, it was better than nothing.
"You want to go ahead and get the plates?" Raine asked. Eda silently sighed before speaking.
"Sure."
Raine was just trying to be nice after all.
"HOOT HOOT! EDA, RAINE, YOU HAVE VISITORS!"
Eda was startled awake by the sound of Hooty's voice blaring into her and Raine's room. She was nearly in the center of her and Raine's nest, which she'd recently filled with many more pillows and blankets due to the colder weather (she wouldn't admit it, but it also just was something her brain kept nagging her to do). It was definitely helping with that part as she felt the breeze from the outside fly across her face.
"Hooty! What gives!" Eda yelled back, immediately sitting up and pushing her sleep mask onto her forehead. She shivered at the feeling of the cold air touching her arms. Quickly she pulled her sweater from beside the nest and threw it over her head.
"Well, Raine's Moms have been standing outside for the past ten minutes and no one has greeted them! I don't think my stories were keeping them from getting bored either, hoot!" Hooty explained.
"Oh shit, they're outside?! Why didn't you get one of us!" Eda exclaimed, escaping the blanket and pillow fortress and patting her hair down. The last thing she wanted was them being concerned about why they'd taken so long to even be let inside.
She rushed downstairs and opened the front door of the house. Behind it stood the familiar figures of Raine's moms, in their normal casual attire.
"Sorry about that! Good morning, I thought you two weren't coming until afternoon?" Eda said.
"Dear, it is afternoon," Raine's Mom, Aileen, said. She looked slightly concerned. Oh fuck. Here they go.
"Where's Raine? I would've expected them to open the door," Their Ma, Delilah, said.
"Uh… that's a good question," Eda looked behind herself into the house and tried spotting the mint haired bard. No avail.
"They were upstairs asleep beside you, Eda," Hooty said.
"What?!" Eda turned to the bird on her door, "They're asleep?! How did they not wake up from that?"
"Beats me," Hooty closed his eyes. With both of Raine's Moms staring her down she supposed she'd let them in. The two entered the house and approached the sofa, sitting down on it.
"S-Sorry I'll… I'll be right back, I'm going to wake them up," Eda said.
"They're doing alright, right?" Aileen asked. Eda nodded and swiftly headed for the stairs again. Despite it apparently being afternoon, she was still tired. She had the extra weight to blame for that. By the time she reached the top of the stairs she had to spare a moment to catch her breath.
The number one thing she hated about being almost eight months pregnant, being helpless. She didn't want to be, and at the end of the day she wasn't, but her exhaustion and emotional mood swings did not help her case.
Once she'd caught her breath she entered the bedroom and saw Raine's body laying in the nest still supposedly asleep.
She approached the side of the nest and sat on the edge of it, running her hands through their mint hair.
"Rainestorm, wake up, your Moms are here," She said to them in a hushed voice. Raine, despite being a morning person, hated being forcibly woken up. She figured that was why they always woke up early, to avoid these sorts of situations.
Raine's eyes squinted open and they looked up at her.
"Eda… what time is it?" They mumbled.
"I haven't checked but, apparently it's afternoon," She said. Raine's eyes widened slightly before squeezing back shut.
Concern rose in her chest.
"Migraine?" She asked. Raine winced, slowly nodding their head
"S-Sorry, I… I didn't want you to be stuck with them," They muttered apologies as Eda once again stroked their hair.
"It's alright. I need to get dressed but I'll go downstairs and grab you a gel pack for your head," Eda said, "Would that be alright?"
"That would be wonderful, Snapdragon," Raine gave her a small smile before burying their face in the blanket.
Eda gave a quick kiss to their head, before standing back up, "I'll be right back."
She left their room and went back downstairs. Eda figured she'd at least give a quick explanation to their Moms before running upstairs with a random frozen gel pack.
She was stopped before she was at the bottom.
"What's wrong with them?" Delilah asked. Aileen was still on the sofa, sitting poised like someone Eda would have seen at her Mother's gardening club years ago.
"They have a migraine," Eda said, "I'm getting them something for it."
"Oh! Let us help, surely they're hungry? We can make lunch for both of y'all," Aileen suggested.
"It's quite alright, they're going to probably be asleep," Eda explained, "… and they're probably nauseous."
"They still need to eat, Eda," The elder witch huffed, "Come on, you and Delilah can go check on them and I can start on lunch."
"A-Aileen, I'm pretty sure-" Eda was cut off when Delilah pulled on her arm towards the kitchen.
"Now now! Come on, Eda, you know it'll be good if they eat something," Delilah explained as they approached the fridge, "What a peculiar looking icebox."
"It's actually a fridge, I stole it several years ago from the human realm," The redhead explained. Delilah looked confused.
"You stole it? That's not good," Eda glared at her partner's mother for several moments while she grabbed the gel pack from the top freezer part.
"It's a lot more convenient," She shrugged, closing the door to the freezer.
"I see…" The blue haired woman stared Eda up and down for a moment, "Uh… so how are you?"
"Fine, I suppose," Eda began walking back to the stairs. Delilah followed behind, seemingly trying to keep small talk.
"I'm hoping you've been treating Raine well?" She asked.
"Uh…" Eda wouldn't have expected that kind of question. Usually when these situations happened it was the in-laws asking how their child had been treating their spouse. Then again, this was… Raine's Moms, unfortunately.
They'd never been all too interested in Eda aside from when it was to be more on Raine's good side.
"I mean, I guess the best I can be," Eda muttered. The two reached the top of the stairs. Eda by this point was tired just thinking of going up or down the stairs again. She'd probably enter the room and open the window and stare into the woods for a while. At least while Raine's Moms made lunch (deep down she was really thankful she didn't have to cook first thing after waking up).
When they entered the bedroom Raine was still hiding their face under the blankets. Eda approached them and, with a little struggle, bent down and gently shook their shoulder.
"I've got it," She whispered to them, holding out the frozen pack to them as they peaked from under the covers.
"Thanks," They took the blue pack and slid it onto their forehead before widening their eyes, "Ma?"
"I wanted to be sure you were alright," Deiliah said.
"Well uh… I'm alright aside from the headache," Raine said. A few more awkward moments of silence passed before Raine sighed and went back under the blankets.
"Your Mom is making you lunch," The blue haired witch said, "Probably tomato soup and toasted cheese."
Raine peaked up for a moment, shaking their head.
"I told you they weren't hungry," Eda said, pushing herself back up.
"Right… I'll go see how your Mom is doing. I'll be right back, Raine," Delilah looked down to her child and then back up to Eda, "We're starting the nursery today, it's gone on too long without it being started."
"Alright, I'll be just a minute," Eda said, "I erm… never put on real clothes," She was still standing there in her pajamas. A sweater and flannel bottoms.
"Yes yes of course," Delilah said, leaving the room and closing the door behind her.
A few seconds after Eda heard her footsteps go down the hall she sighed. She then looked back down to the lump of blankets in the nest and gave a small smile.
"I'm sorry…" Raine said through the blankets.
"It's fine, I can handle them," Eda said, approaching the wardrobe and opening it, "You're well aware I'm not scared of them or anything."
"But you also don't like them very much, and they're… you know," Raine peaked their face out again. Eda grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
"Right, right. I will live, I'm not that sensitive," Eda slid off the sweater and tank top and sighed, glancing at herself in the mirror over her shoulder. She turned around and stared at Raine, "I look horrible." They stared blankly as a response.
"Eda, I can't even see you," Raine said, groaning before grabbing their glasses and putting them on, "You look beautiful, I don't notice much difference."
"But look! I'm… round!" She complained, "Just admit I'm ugly."
"But you're not?" They tilted their head, "You just said you weren't sensitive."
"I have reasons to be dramatic. This isn't my silhouette at all, Raine!" Eda sprawled her arms to the side, "Titan… whatever fine, don't admit it."
They gave another confused look before sighing and taking off their glasses. By the time Eda had slid on the sweatshirt Raine had disappeared under the blankets again.
Today was going to be long…
"But if we do the green it won't match up with the furniture," Eda sat on the wall against the edge of the now former closet. Aileen and Delilah were currently debating… wall color.
Eda personally didn't care all too much, but if they were wanting to do that and make it look damn good, she'd add input as she pleased.
"But the yellow is too similar to Raine's old room, wouldn't that be weird?" Delilah shot back.
"It'd be more meaningful that way, would it not?" Aileen said to her wife, "It is their kid."
"You could do red," Eda suggested.
"Dear, we are not painting the room red," Delilah said back. She rolled her eyes at the refusal.
"It's technically my house. Shouldn't I have a say in how it looks?" Eda used the edge of the cabinet in the room to stand up, "Yellow or green, neither of them really look like something I'd want."
"But why red?" Aileen asked her, "It doesn't really scream soft for a nursery."
"Jeez," Eda sighed, "Just see how it looks."
Aileen and Delilah shared a look before obliging. Delilah twirled her finger and a deep red was added beside the green and yellow.
"See?" Eda approached the wall and stared at the color, "This feels more like it."
"It's too dark though," Aileen exclaimed,"The yellow goes well with this red, you can use it as an accent color if it bothers you that much."
Eda stood for a moment, partially dumbfounded.
"Fine," She knew there was no point in trying to argue.
"Rainey dear, you need to eat something," Aileen was once again kneeled beside the nest, holding a bowl of soup that was still steaming.
"Mom, I told you I don't want to eat right now," Eda could hear the faint whispering of Raine from under the blankets they had wrapped themselves in.
"Just drink a bit of the soup," Delilah was standing just above Aileen beside the nest. Eda was watching the third failed attempt at them getting Raine to eat something.
"Just the thought of eating it makes me feel nauseous, I promise it's not anything you or Ma did I just… I'm not hungry right now," Raine said. After a few moments of silence, Aileen stood back up and dragged Delilah out of the room, leaving Eda and Raine alone.
"Would you like some saltines?" Eda approached the nest.
"Thank you, I'd love some," Raine said.
Eda had long since learned how to deal with their migraines.
"Have you considered Lucille? I've heard it's meaning is absolutely darling," Aileen was, as per usual with her visits, going through another list of baby names Eda would immediately shoot down. She and Raine's Moms were back in the nursery. Eda had been forced to sit in a rocking chair they had brought while they painted the walls. Unfortunately it was that hideous yellow she hated.
"No," Eda's typical response came.
"Do you two even know what the gender is?" Delilah asked. Eda shrugged.
"They've offered to tell us but we're… wanting the surprise," She explained.
"Ah… okay," Aileen dipped a brush back into the bucket of paint, "How is the baby anyways?"
"Only took you two hours to ask…" Eda passive aggressively mumbled to herself before answering, "They're doing fine. There was a check up a few days ago and they're… still kicking and all."
"That surely isn't comfortable. I hope it's not been too bad," Delilah said.
"Actually it's been great, they're the reason I've had to run to the bathroom so many times," Eda groaned, "They think my bladder is a trampoline."
"Did you know Raine was a very easy baby to carry?" Aileen put the brush down and turned to Eda, "Smooth sailing, we discovered music calmed them down pretty early on after they started kicking. It's no wonder they're a bard."
"Huh, I haven't thought about doing something like that…" Eda placed her hands on top of her belly. A rare act from her, but it felt right for the moment.
"I wouldn't be surprised if it worked," Delilah said.
"Chopin would be a good name," Aileen added, "They were a serial killer and a bard."
"There's a bard in the human realm named Chopin who wrote a lot of music in the 1700s," Eda commented.
"Aren't you the one who made our child watch a horror movie about a serial killer based on an actual witch? I would've thought you'd be more into that name because of murder-y reasons," Delilah asked.
"They actually asked me to watch it, fun fact," Eda rolled her eyes.
Now they were sharing a snack downstairs. Delilah had made homemade hex mix for Eda and Raine to keep.
"So… do you think they're going to be going to Hexside or Glandus?" Aileen asked, taking a bite of the mix, "I'd assume Hexside since you both went there."
"Well… we've talked about giving them the option to attend Hexside or if they want different teachings. Like homeschool I guess," Eda was pretty straightforward in her answer. Proceeding her statement by shoving a handful of hex mix into her mouth.
"You mean our Raine would be okay with raising a wild witch?" Aileen sounded flabbergasted.
"Pardon? Did you forget your dear sweet child is not in a coven?" Eda said, "They might specialize in mostly Bard magic but by law they are wild."
"And you're okay with that risk?" Aileen asked.
"I thought you were okay with Raine not being in a coven?" Aileen looked stunned for a moment before turning away, "You didn't actually mean it!"
"We figure they'll join one eventually, and Raine is still our child. We don't have to support every decision but we still want to talk to them," Delilah said.
"What? You wouldn't…" Eda felt a surge of anger at the statement. They had lied… because they had missed Raine and still wanted to talk?!
"Please don't tell them," Aileen said.
"Are you insane? Of course I want to tell them! That's messed up!" Eda shouted as she stood up from her chair.
"Dear! They're resting, don't be too loud," Delilah said.
"You literally kept trying to make them eat something they were pretty clear they didn't want!" Eda growled. She hesitated before stomping off, leaving her chair out from under the table.
"You really think they'll want it now?" Eda asked as Aileen and Delilah approached the stairs.
"It's nearly four in the afternoon, I'd hope they're hungry by now," Aileen said, holding the reheated bowl of tomato soup.
Eda sighed, following the two up the stairs back to her and Raine's room. They were probably fine after getting the crackers from Eda earlier.
"Raine, we really need to make sure you eat," Delilah said, announcing their presence.
"I told you guys, I don't want to eat anything yet," Raine muttered once more from under the covers.
"Please, dear…" Aileen was, as per usual, beside the nest crouched with the Titanforsaken bowl of soup.
"They've told you they aren't hungry," Eda said.
"So you're saying let them starve?" Delilah said.
"What?! No! I'm saying that if they aren't hungry they aren't going to want to eat, it's not super hard to comprehend," Eda shrugged her shoulders.
"It's also not hard to comprehend that they need to eat, Edalyn," Aileen said.
"Do not call me Edalyn." Eda said back, "I gave them crackers, they were light and it was something they'd be able to digest easier with the nausea of the migraine."
"That's barely food! What is wrong with you? Are all you wild witches the same?!" Aileen said. Her hands flew up to her mouth.
Eda stood in shock. Even Delilah seemed taken aback by her wife's words.
Eda didn't even notice when Raine stood up inside the nest, uncovering themself from the blankets.
"Can you stop treating my girlfriend like shit?" They said, a look of pure anger on their face.
"We're just worried-"
"No! You've never liked her, I've known that," Raine said, "But unfortunately for you, I do. I trust her."
"But crackers, really?" Delilah said, still looking flabbergasted.
"Yes, crackers were wonderful," They stepped out of the nest and grabbed Eda's arm, "I'm able to stomach them way easier, she knows how to help me because she lives with me!"
"Though look at the decisions she's led you to!" Aileen said.
"No, Mom! I'm almost 25! I can handle myself! I'm fully capable of making adult decisions, especially when they pertain to myself!" Raine was going off on them. Eda couldn't help but slyly smirk at the fact that Raine was on her side, as she expected. They continued, "Whether you like it or not," The mint haired witch stared at their Mom, "I'm not joining a coven. Not yet at least. And I doubt Eda ever is. What we decide about our lives is none of your business. Please, just be nice to her, show her you at least care about her!"
They stood huffing. Eda blinked and they grabbed her arm, dragging her out of the room and to the bathroom. Once inside they locked the door and quickly drew a spell to obscure light from the window.
Almost instantly they collapsed onto the side of the counter.
"Woah! Raine!" Eda exclaimed, helping Raine sit down on the floor.
"S-Sorry, I didn't think that through…" They buried their face in their knees.
"It's fine, that was… I never thought I'd hear you say that to them," The redhead paced over to the darkened window, "Wow. Why did you… drag me here though?"
"To get you away from them, I don't know why they're being so… so…"
"It's because your presence isn't holding them back today," Eda said, "You realize they're… kind of assholes whenever you aren't around."
"… I'm not surprised," Raine said. They sighed deeply, putting their head back, "I'm really sorry, I should have said something sooner."
"Raine, it's fine. I've known for a long time that your Moms don't partícularly like me," Eda put the toilet seat down and sat on top of it, "I don't know if they'll ever change. I've just accepted it. It's… a little hard, having them tell me they don't exactly approve of my ways of life but eh, a lot of people don't."
"They still shouldn't be mean to you like that," They said.
Eda leaned back and crossed her arms. Raine sat still, barely even blinking as they stared up at the ceiling.
The sounds outside were faint. The rustling of the leaves with a cold breeze still coming into the bathroom. Eda shivered at the feeling.
Outside the room she could hear Raine's Moms talking faintly to each other. Delilah was whispering loudly while Aileen was only mumbling back every once in a while. Served her right.
It was several moments before either of them spoke again.
"Do you want them here?" Eda asked. Raine looked a little stunned by the statement.
"Of course I do, they're my moms!" Raine said, "I just wish they wouldn't treat you like they do."
"Have you tried talking to them about it?" The witch leaned forward.
"I… well no." Raine blinked.
"I'd say try that, I think it's something you're good at," Eda chuckled, "Plus… I think it'll be nice having them around."
"Since neither of your parents are here?" Raine asked. Eda hesitated, but eventually nodded.
"Yeah… I… If they can be, you know, nice, I wouldn't mind them," She said. Eda felt a kick in her gut moments later. She gasped lightly before laughing quietly to herself.
"What is it?" Raine asked her.
"I think they agree with me," Eda, who in the future would call this a moment of weakness, rubbed her round belly.
"Oh? They kicked?" Raine asked. Eda let out an mhm.
"You want to feel?" Eda held her hand out for Raine to grab, which they quickly did. She took it and placed it on her stomach. After a few moments the baby kicked again and Eda saw a wide smile cross Raine's face.
"Oh wow," They said.
"Yeah," Eda sighed, "That's… yeah."
"I guess you can… show them out and I'll go back to sleep," Raine said, "But uh… tell them I'll come over later this week. You don't have to go. I just want to… sit down."
"Got it," Eda said. Standing up she stretched her arms, then she helped Raine stand and walked them back to their room. Once they were laid back down in the nest, Eda slid the blankets back over the top of their head.
When she exited the room she found Aileen and Delilah standing just outside the door.
"Eda we-" Aileen began.
"We're sorry," Delilah said, "I… I think our beliefs have taken over a little bit and… we didn't consider how pushing that would make you feel, and-"
"No." Eda said, "I don't want your apology right now."
"Huh?" Aileen said.
"I think we both need to really sit and think about how we feel about each other," The red headed witch continued, "Raine wants you here, but to make that work we need to get along. Just because we don't have the same ideas on life doesn't mean we can't do that."
"Yes, we understand," Delilah said, "And… we really need to think about how we've treated you."
"Because you've treated me horribly and have brushed off every single thing I've ever told you," Eda raised an eyebrow. Delilah hesitantly nodded.
"We'll think about that…" Aileen said.
"Alright, good," Eda said. She gestured to the stairs, "I guess you two should be leaving then?"
"Yes, I suppose we'll see ourselves out?" Delilah said. Eda nodded. The two headed for the stairs before Eda called out.
"Wait!" She said, "Raine said they'd be coming over to your house later this week… to talk and all."
"Oh? Thank you for letting us know," Aileen said, turning to her wife.
"Tell them that we hope they feel better… and that we're sorry," Delilah said.
"Will do." Eda nodded her head again. With a quick wave goodbye, the two went down the stairs and Eda soon heard Hooty giving a farewell hoot.
When a few minutes had passed of standing there she sighed. Turning around she reentered her and Raine's room and looked to the wall. On a stack of books stood a particular one Raine had grazed through and Eda had nearly refused to touch.
She grabbed the book and approached the nest. Careful not to disturb her partner, she settled into the nest of twigs and blankets and opened the first page of the book.
'The Baby Naming Wizard, 666+ Baby Names for Your Future Witchlet or Demon'
October 25th, 1999
Oh Titan, Diary, things are getting insane,
There's not much to say. Honestly I'm just really tired after today. The little one roommate decided they wanted to use my bladder as a goal today, so that was fun. Aileen and Delilah also came over today and were exactly as they usually are. Annoying at best, downright insulting at worst.
Today they decided to be the worst.
Raine had a migraine. I woke them up today. Usually this would be fine, except today happened to be the same day that their moms were coming.
They also decided today would be the day they'd start the nursery seriously. They managed to get most of the furniture they were giving to us here and even started painting the walls? The color isn't bad. I would've preferred red but I'll circle back to that.
It was not fun. They never listen to me, and truly at the end of the day I act like I don't care but I just want to know what I did to make them hate me this much? I hope Raine can convince them I'm not the crazy person they seem to make me out to be. Sure, I have wild ideas and things like that but I'm far from crazy, am I not?!
I would honestly rather not tell them that part though. They seem happy being able to talk to their moms again, and I'd rather not ruin that for them. I'll be fine. I'm just a bit sensitive I suppose.
I finally started looking at. Names. Raine woke up a little while after their parents left and I was sitting on the edge of the nest with the book and they started laughing at me. Rude.
There's a few names I like, though I don't know quite yet. I think it'll come to me when I see them maybe? Isn't that how it works for some witches?
I feel weird sounding like a gushy mom, but I've been a dork in some regards today. I might as well embrace that aspect. But at the same time… it's weird. How is this my kid too? How am I supposed to be a mom?
I don't think I'll be a good one.
I really don't want to tell Raine that. They'd never drop it. I don't want to hear the fluffy bullshit "Oh! Eda you'll be wonderful! You'll be a great mom!" Look, Whispers, I love you but I really don't like thinking about the fact I'm supposed to be a mom. To a child. A witchlet.
But I'm rambling. Sorry.
Goodnight diary,
Eda

Might be a bit before I get the next chapter out. My birthday is this Saturday! Woohoo!
