"Toothless has been getting a bit clingy lately. Usually to Hiccup," Thorve points out, trying to eat with Astrid as they watch Toothless walking around the grounds of their HQ, spending time with other dragons or riders.

"Should I get out a leash?" Astrid asks smiling as they spot Toothless give a small sideways glance at their building before quickly turning away.

"No…I got a better idea. And it might help both of them," Thorve suggested after a while, blushing slightly of her own.

Astrid chuckles. "Is it going to be like when you tried to ask me?"

Thorve looks to her almost offended, but blushing all the same. "No. It's going to be different…besides…I feel like I can help others like this rather than myself…I'm a bumbling idiot for myself."

Astrid leans over and gives a small peck on her cheek which made her jump a bit. "No such thing exists for you…now, what's the plan?"

Hiccup looks through a spyglass for a bit while adjusting it until he pulls it down and looks it over. "Image is still upside down. I know I got this right," he mumbles to himself, taking apart the casing and fixing the lenses inside.

Toothless, meanwhile, walks up behind Hiccup as he started to check the lenses one by one and even jot down notes beside him in Thorve's invention book she left. She then turns her head to where Astrid and Thorve are hiding behind a building, watching them, with Thorve giving a shooing motion at her. Toothless growls silently and looks back toward Hiccup as he sits on the far side of the forge, sometimes looking through that spyglass out into the sea before putting it down and opening it again.

Toothless slowly leans in her head in and watches him work for a bit as her mind steels itself for what she wanted to ask. She lowers her head slightly until she nudges her snout against Hiccup's back, making him jump lightly and quickly turn to her. "Oh, Toothless. Thought you were someone else. Need something? Fish?" Hiccup asks smirking as he gives her snout a pet.

Toothless blinks slowly as she tries to think through the plan Thorve gave her. Her snout twitching and sneezing quietly from his soft tickling which he gave a chuckle at. Toothless brings a paw up and softly brushes her muzzle to get rid of the feeling so she can concentrate. Hiccup hums as he looks over her small harness so she can fly short distances on her own for a while. His hand brushing along her scales as he gives some tugs while checking the straps. Force of habit he started to pick up on after dealing with so many harnesses of other dragons and her own sets.

"Seems to be holding on strong still. Guess you weren't flying as dangerous as you would normally be without one of us on you," Hiccup idly chats as he keeps checking. Toothless gives a small smile at that as he stands up and gives a few pats to her head. "So what do you need bud? Fish? Something to shoot or fly?"

Toothless walks around him, still a bit unsure of the plan and looks past Hiccup slightly to see the two girls hiding and Thorve giving a double hand shooing motion. Really encouraging of her. Toothless then turns her eyes back to Hiccup as he looks behind him to see where she is looking and hums as Astrid and Thorve have already hidden behind the building. Hiccup hums and shrugs and turns back to Toothless before jerking his head back in surprise after seeing how close she was, but sees her eyes looking a bit troubled while her tail nervously wags around behind her. The two girls peeking back out after giving some time and seeing the two this close.

Thorve whispers to Toothless to do it already as Astrid hopes Toothless wouldn't run at least. But that all came to rest once Toothless leans her head in and touches her scaly muzzle to Hiccup's lips. Hiccup squeaks surprised before Toothless hears the sound and realizes what she did and pulls back just as suddenly, looking almost ready to pounce elsewhere and hide.

"…Tooth…" Hiccup tries to ask before Toothless ran off. "WAIT!" Hiccup calls as he ran after her.

"Oh boy. I was afraid that would happen," Astrid sighs as she runs off before being yanked back by Thorve. "Thorve, we have to…"

"No. Let them work things out. And he'll catch up," Thorve reassures smiling, leaving Astrid slightly unsure.

Hiccup pants as he chases Toothless running across the ground and into the forest. The other dragons like Blaze and Seer following above, which he notices, but he waves them off, intending on doing this alone. He then sees her running along the same path she crashed down all those years ago and stops short of the HQ at the cove before bounding off to the side and towards the cliff. Hiccup stopping hard and dragging himself close to the edge, other riders taking notice of the two, before he runs off after Toothless's direction. He then sees her approaching the end and picks up speed as she flares her wings. Toothless jumping off and diving as Hiccup jumps after her.

Hiccup grunts as he reaches out and grabs a hold of her harness and then wraps his arms around her to hang on. "Toothless, stop!" he calls out which elicited a surprised bark from Toothless as she looks behind her to see him. Toothless then reaches behind her with a claw and somehow bends it enough to grab a small handle and extend her prosthetic tail fin. 'She's that flexible?!' Hiccup thinks in surprise at seeing how much she had to bend her arm before grunting as Toothless started to fly across the sea and smashes against her side. "Toothless!" Hiccup calls to no avail as she feels his weight and knows she didn't shake him off just yet before turning herself and flying upside down. Hiccup crying out and hanging to what he could. 'Okay, think of how to work this into training later!'

Toothless roars as she struggles to keep herself up while trying to shake him off until Hiccup yanks himself up and grabs onto the fin handle. "Toothless! I am warning you! Stop!" he calls and Toothless tries to now roll him off to which Hiccup slams her fin shut with the handle and makes her cry out as she lost her balance and flies toward the sea. Both of them grunting as they roll across the water before sinking into it.

Hiccup gasps as he comes back up and Toothless comes up next to him before swimming away towards the small island near them. Hiccup chases after her and gets a hold of her tail to which she flings him onto the island onto his back with a grunt. Hiccup groans as Toothless climb herself onto the beach and shake herself before reaching for the fin handle and pull it open hard, turning herself around and prepares to take off again before Hiccup tackles her to the ground.

"Toothless…can we please talk?" Hiccup pleads as she almost throws him off before stopping as she felt his hand on top of her claws, about to shut her fin closed again.

Toothless stares up at the exhausted and soaked viking before shutting the fin herself, Hiccup letting her up as he steps back a little. She looks slightly away, worried about what he might say before hearing some sand move and looks to see Hiccup sitting down and staring out at the sea. Toothless doesn't say anything and follows his example, sitting down on her tail and doing the same. It was obvious now to her, he will wait for however long it would take for her to explain things and not move until then.

The night is about to come and grace the sea, the sun already giving a reddish tint across the water and sky. Nothing has been said between the two, words or otherwise. Only some glances at some hours, but not much else was given. However, the silence was starting to grate at Toothless. Hiccup, in her mind, would have grown tired of waiting and almost demanded answers…but he kept silent, nothing across his face told her that he was frustrated or tired or anything of the sort. Rather…he seems to want her to begin rather than him. As the sun starts to get close to disappearing behind the waters, Berk nowhere in sight on the horizon, she finally lets out a breath she has been holding once in a while before slowly turning her head towards him. Hiccup hasn't moved yet, but she can tell that he is still listening for her to start.

Toothless gets up and moves over to him before crooning sadly.

Hiccup reaches out without looking still and gives a small pet to her head. "So I guess all the teasing got to you? Or was it the time we all spent together?" Hiccup asks, himself even wondering how to word it.

Toothless didn't have an answer for both, so all she could do is move in closer to his side, but not close enough.

Hiccup sighs and turns his head to look at her. "So…I'll be blunt. You like me that much?"

Toothless perks her head up at that, somewhat shock at how blunt he is before her eyes went back to the same features it was before, one of hope that they can still be friends after this.

Hiccup's pets slowly went to the side of her head and give a few slow scratches as he holds up her head with his other hand. "Those eyes do tell a lot. Even when we first met…Thorve and I can tell…and I can see more now…I guess I didn't want to believe it…but look at where we are now," Hiccup tries to chuckle at, laughing away the awkwardness.

Toothless looks down a bit sadly, but couldn't help but smile at his bad joke.

Hiccup sighs and now just holds her head up. "So…I'll ask again. Do you want me to be your mate?"

Toothless's heart took a giant leap, along with her stomach, at him saying mate instead of wife or lover or whatever they all describe what comes before any sort of ritual with this. Her eyes sparkled as she looks at him with some whiff of happiness as he smiles.

"Yes…or no? If no, I would like to stay friends with you until the end of both of us. If yes…I'll do my best to handle this. But the caveat is that you must share with the girls…and I have a feeling they somehow know about this," Hiccup says slightly to the side, almost smiling at the thought of Astrid and Thorve helping this symbol of lightning and death to find love.

Toothless's heart rate picked up as it did another leap while her stomach sunk a bit. And for her, the rate was still picking up, waiting for what answer she might give. She can't say anything, but she can move her head as an answer.

Hiccup gasps quietly as Toothless pressed her scaly muzzle against his lips again like back at the forge, but it was more natural here and not full of fear. A real feeling that he replicated as he pushes back.

Toothless's heart has begun taking leaps of flight. Flying around and enjoying this newfound feeling of happiness with her rider. And even has the same feelings, with his old mind catching up to the fact of what he is doing.

'Me ending up with a dragon…well…at least we would all be happy together. Even with Astrid and Thorve mixed in.'

Thorve yawns as she and Astrid steps into their home and gets to the top before they hear wings beating the air and turn to look. Seeing the nightfury and her rider flying in and landing in front as Hiccup seems to be gripping her harness straps for dear life. "Hey, guys…how was the flight?" Thorve asks knowingly as she smiles.

Hiccup sighs as he gets off Toothless and walks past them with Toothless following. "I'll admit…exhilarating," he says smiling.

Thorve kept smiling as Toothless looks up at her in happiness. She then mouths to her 'Told you. Now go enjoy him.'

Toothless barks quietly as Hiccup sighs in some tiredness. Thorve and Astrid watching them both before Thorve jumps in surprise. "They are done for the day, we are not. Now how about I enjoy you?" Astrid whispers in her ear and makes Thorve nervously gulp as she lets her hand slide down her side.
