Mission 2: Operation Hostile shores.
Maxim wakes from the dreadnaught movements, and he quickly glances around. He sees Anastasia cuddled asleep next to Reznov, and Adrian with a horrified expression on his face. "The Vessel finally moving? After three days of doing nothing?" Maxim complains, but he realizes Anastasia has been crying and her clothes were torn, "What the? What the hell happened while I was asleep, Reznov? I did not hear her come in."
Reznov solemnly spoke, "That is because she was quiet and shaking, and from the looks of it; she may have been violated" Reznov was sitting up on the bed while letting Anastasia use his bunk, and even petting her when she began crying in her sleep. "Shhhhhh, Не волнуйся, дитя, теперь тебе не причинят вреда"
Krukov let out a slight smile, "Reznov being fatherly to a 24-year-old girl, now that a sight I never thought I would see."
Adrian finally spoke, "If… If you only heard what I heard, one of Vladimir's men has raped her. I know it because I have seen that terrified look before on another friend of mine."
Anger bellows up within the Soviet general, "She was what!? What kind of animals does Vladimir have under him!? This makes me want to put a bullet through his head for even allowing such a heinous action to take part of one of my soldiers. This deplorable act is unacceptable!" Maxim pounds the wall and sees through barred windows amphibious transport following this dreadnaught. The silence was taken in by the group when suddenly they heard footsteps coming into the brig. Everyone looked at the door to see Vladimir coming through the door.
"Were your accommodations everything you desire?" Vladimir asked sarcastically, then he looks at the girl, "What's with her?"
Adrian spoke with venom in his tongue, "One of your disgusting men raped her!"
Vladimir stretched out his face in bewilderment, but he just shrugs, "I really don't see the point of caring for the traitorous wench like her, but in my book, she got exactly what she deserves for killing a commanding officer, though all be by accident, of course, you learn that under me." He walks up to Maxim's cell "I do not take kindly to disastrous accidents."
Maxim grits his teeth holding back the urge to yell, "I looked up her records after the battle of Washington D.C and she is mostly clean with only minor disciplinary action taken upon her, and as far as the naval captain in charge I learned through the aftermath of the battle that he was KIA, and he was a good friend of mine and will be missed."
Reznov spoke up suddenly, "So you are General Vladimir, your reputation proceeds you, but I do not find you a truly honorable man."
Vladimir recognizes Reznov, "Reznov, you are still alive? I thought you died in the last war. What are you doing back out into battle again?"
"Vengeance," Reznov said as clearly as he could.
General Vladimir chuckles silently to himself, "You live too far in the past. You are a war hero, and you need rest, but I suppose you could not help yourself to be against me. You and I never truly see eye to eye regardless of the fact you once served under me."
Reznov spits out in Russian "Иди к черту! I was once a field commander, and you had quite a reputation for putting things under the rug."
Vladimir scoffs at Reznov, "We do not need our soldiers to be demoralized now, do we? Of course, some things won't go unnoticed, but there are occasions where it is necessary to do so for the sake of a greater goal."
Krukov sheepishly chuckles, "So you are General Vladimir? I thought you would be even taller in person."
Vladimir grits his teeth and stares daggers at Krukov, "Show some respect to your commanding officer! Such a shame that the first desolation commando I have meets turned out to be inconsiderate! Are all the desolaters like you, or do you simply have no shame?"
Krukov just laughs at Vladimir, "Scorch Earth, my friend! Scorch Earth."
Reznov interject before Vladimir spoke again, "Vladimir, do not waste your time with him, he can be an imbecile at times, and it was his trouble-making nature that forced him to serve in the first place."
Maxim stares at Vladimir, "We could do this all day, or we can get straight to the point, and you tell us what you are going to tell us."
Vladimir gritted his teeth and clenched his fist staring at Maxim. "Mind your tongue, Comrade Maxim! I am the general of the Soviet army, and I demand respect from the likes of you. I came to tell you that we are on our way to Johnson city, but you been sitting there scolding me!"
Maxim raises an eyebrow, "What else is there to do in this brig other than to talk? I just simply get to the point and save the scolding for when it counts. It is certainly hard to know what is going on when you are left in the dark."
Reznov spoke up, "Comrade general Maxim has a point."
Vladimir fumes with anger and bellows out, "Keep all your mouths shut before I decide to put you all under a firing squad!" Vladimir stands as he fumes and huffs before getting back his composure. "Now then, back to business, we will be landing on Johnson Beach and clearing out the coastal defenses. Once that is done, we push forward to the main base and take it out with one swift stroke."
Maxim raised an eyebrow, "should we set up a small recon base just as a precautionary?"
Vladimir grunts at the thought, "That would be waste of time!"
Maxim stares directly at him, "a small recon base for the soldiers to get their equipment and supplies together sounds like a good opportunity to establish our Soviet foothold on the mainland of Florida does not sound like a waste of time to me."
Vladimir sighs and strokes his beard, "I will admit, if you put it that way, it doesn't sound like a waste of time."
Maxim cracks a smile, "It is nice we can agree on that."
Reznov butts in the conversation, "Indeed, but it will be wise to not underestimate your opponent's strength, numbers, and tactics."
Vladimir waves off Reznov's warning, "The American navy is weak and pathetic! They will be easily crushed when we do our assault!"
Maxim sighs, and rolls his eyes, "Alright then, when do we disembark, General Vladimir?"
"In a week's time, and I have done the liberty to bring all your men together for you. I do not understand the need to have another general out in the field, but if you were to die on the field, that will be less competition for me to deal with in the council." Vladimir said sheepishly almost laughing, "And it was Romanov's request that you be part of this operation, and be a part of this operation you shall be."
Maxim's eyes seethe with frustration and rage, "Then why are we in this cell? You know this operation will go much faster when we all work together."
Vladimir was about to answer when he was cut off by hearing the door opening behind him, and he quickly turned to see who it is, "Who dares interrupt…" He sees a man with an engineer outfit but wearing a second-in-command badge of some kind, "What is Psycorp doing on my ship?" Vladimir draws his gun on the man, "I demand to know what you are doing on my ship?"
The Psycorp soldier gave Vladimir a letter, "My name is Rashiidi and what I have here is a request from Yuri, the chief advisor of the premier."
Vladimir grits his teeth, "Yuri should keep his nose out of people's business!" He reads the letter and groans, "Fine, but you can only have Maxim in the daylight of tomorrow and no funny business Psycorp scum, or I will bring you down with me!"
Rashiidi stands there with a calm smile, "General Vladimir, let us not be so irrational in thought, it is a request you have to abide by, but I assure you we won't be an inconvenience to your operation. You have my honest and sincere word, my general. The chief advisor cares for victory as much as you and I and any other member of the Soviet army."
Maxim and his men can only watch in disbelief at what's going on, and their train of thought where broken when Vladimir lets loose a barbaric yell and storms out of the room leaving Maxim wondering, and Krukov stealing the words out of his mouth "Какого чёрта сейчас произошло?"
Rashiidi turns to Maxim, "I will talk to you by daylight tomorrow, until then, sleep well."
Maxim just watched as Rashiidi left, and he said out loud, "First we are thrown here, then Anastasia been possibly raped, then Vladimir came to gloat, and finally this stranger shows up with a letter from the chief advisor. I don't know about you guys, but I have no idea what the hell is going on. Well, might as well get some rest when I can." Maxim just lays back down
Adrian sighs "you're telling me, Maxim. You're telling me." And with that, the brig goes silent with more questions than answers.

Authors Notes.
This chapter I had to rewrite this a couple of times due to some underline issues I saw in the draft, and I decided to ultimately cut some of the contents out because I do not want to drag on the Brigg section and make Hostile Shores mission longer than it needs to be. Red Dawn was really just an easy victory mission and gives the Soviets a threatening force behind Maxim, but as the story goes the mission will get longer in a timescale but I will try to not drag them on, so you may expect time skips from days to weeks depending on what's happening within the setting. At least I wont need to explain how the construction yard works, but I will go in detail of the war factory and save the Naval base until act 2.
