SPIDER-MAN IS GONE

"Sidekick."

Miles Morales was currently standing in the middle of New York City, right between a group of goons and a bomb that was set up in the middle of Time Square. Several of them came charging at him, trying to set the device off. But Miles was quicker and faster than all of them, swiping his foot against the ground, tripping one of them up before shooting a web to someone who got close to the device.

Pulling his web, he yanked the masked man into another, taking them both down at once.

"Inadequate."

Miles then saw he was starting to become surrounded, summoning a bioelectric attack from within him. He then leaped at the nearest one, tackling them and placing his fist against their neck. This released all of his energy and surged it through their body.

"Replaceable."

AND THE WORLD HAS TAKEN NOTICE

"Stubborn."

Jessica Drew, a failed experiment to clone Peter Parker from the Jackal, was currently riding the Spider-Cycle, trying to catch up to a crime going down on the Brooklyn Bridge. A group of men with guns looked over, saw that she was approaching, and tried to gun her down.

"Unreliable."

But Jessica quickly slipped the Spider-Cycle to the side, allowing the bike to skid across the ground. Jumping off of the bike before it could hit the group, she went through the air and watched the bike cause an explosion as she shot out webs to catch herself and slingshot down to them.

Tackling one of the men with guns, she then crossed her arms and shot two webs to pull them into one another. One behind her aimed the gun at her head, but she quickly leaped into the air and backflipped to land behind him. Then shooting a web to his back, Jessica pulled him over and punched him in the face.

She panted as she looked over the sight of the five men that she has managed to take down in under two minutes. She was going through some things with the recent passing of...well, the real Spider-Man.

"In over your head."

NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE OTHERS TO RISE

"Untrustworthy."

In the back allies of New York, another failed experiment of Jackal, who goes by the name of Kaine, was fighting his way through a group. He found them harassing a young lady and knew he needed to step in and stop them.

"Uncontrollable."

Once the lady was out of harm's way, he grabbed one of them and tossed them against the brick wall. Then another came up to him using a wooden board he picked from the trash, ready to take on the Spider-Man. But Kaine was ready as he pulled out two retractable bone spikes on the underside of each forearm behind the wrist, quickly using those to attack the man coming.

Kaine used the wood to hide his attack as he went in and stabbed the man in the throat. Retracting it back and punched his friend in the face, then shot him with a web and pulled him to the ground. He got on top of the man, ready to stab him with the spike from his left hand, using his right hand to hold him down.

"A monster."

THEY WILL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER

"Pretender."

The last of the clones, Ben Riley, clung to the side of the Empire State Building, looking at his own reflection. This was the only clone to be so close to being Peter, he had once mistaken himself for the true Spider-Man. But he had then grown and become his own person.

"A pale imitation."

Leaping off of the building, he fell from the top, and his hoodie attached to his suit flapped in the wind with him as he landed on the top of a car. Rolling off of the car, he leaped from roof to roof off of vehicles before rolling off of them and to a certain area. Looking at the criminals who recently escaped prison, he saw that he made it just in time. Working fast, he ran and was ready to defend his city against these monsters.

"A wise-cracking disappointment."

OR THEIR CITY WILL FALL

In the living room of May Parker, she sighed as she looked over to the stand where Spider-Man's mask was on display. She sighed as she caressed the model over her deceased nephew's face, knowing that this isn't how he would see his makeshift family. The entire Spider family was currently in her living room as they were discussing the recent passing of Spider-Man.

"Is that all you see when you see yourselves?" May asks as she turned to face the group. "Because I see more." She then looked back over to the mask and sighed. "Peter saw more."

Miles sighed as he didn't know what to do without Peter.

"He saw potential in all of you." May continued her speech.

Jessica held a cup of tea May made for her in her hands as she looked at her reflection, remembering she is nothing but a clone of the real deal. She was just a fake trying to live up to someone she once was.

"He saw the future of New York." May tried to get their attention.

Kaine crossed his arms as he looked out the window and saw the suburbs where May was living.

"Everything that he was is within you."

Ben picked up an old photo of Ben Parker, May Parker, and Peter Parker when he graduated college. It's odd looking at a life you once had yet will never have again.

"Everything he could never be is why you will learn to be so much more. It's your time now."
