22. Under my umbrella

Some people are a real mystery, and The Pataki was the most incomprehensible to me, as ever. I never understand how a little girl can be alone on her first day of classes, her first day!

The other parents crowded the school, taking pictures and trying to make their children stop crying, (actually only Harold did), but she… she was alone, sad, dirty and soaked, probably she was cold. Was the saddest look that I haven't seen before.

I didn't think twice and I tried to help her. My grandpa was proud of me. When I appeared, I remember that she was wordless, I felt bad for her, she looked like a nice girl, maybe we could be friends… or that was what I tried.

She seemed like a basket case, like she enjoyed eating alone, had problems and the hate of our classmates, I never understood her… until I visited her house for the first time… I had meet her parents since forever, usually her dad went to the park with her, they looked like a normal family… But I was totally wrong.

If I thought that Helga G. Pataki was a mystery, Bob Pataki was another bigger one. I mean, What's wrong with that man? Who in the world can't remember the name that "he" chose for his own daughter?

I always knew that my grandparents gave all their love and energy to me, they deserve to rest or travel the world, but no, they decided to raise me! And I'm only their grandchild. What Bob Pataki didn't care a little for HIS DAUGHTER?

I'm pretty sure that if my dad would be here, he would love me with all your love. I'm so angry. This letter from Helga to Bob is so painful and was only in the trash… without open it. While I meet more Bob, the Helga's mystery is solve.
