Rain spits out some blood after taking a solid punch from Yuugi. She slowly stood up and looks at them. She doesn't know why but they are picking a fight. The punch was powerful enough to damage her and sent her flying. When she was damaged she felt something inside of her, something like being activated. She's feeling some sort of unknown power surging forth all over her body. This would just be an adrenaline rush but it is something else...

Burning Wrath and Fury are activated...

This is a conditional ability that activates whenever she is damaged. The final ability that activates when she's close to death is "Tenacity" which combines all of these together. The more she's closer to death, the stronger she'll becomes and highly resistant to die. Originally she doesn't have these abilities but perhaps when her memories returns will this be answered on how she'd acquired such abilities.

Because of the 'Seal' slowly being broken. She's getting back more and more of her abilities. Who knows just how much powerful she'll be when she truly returns to her former self? Though she isn't aware of such abilities herself nor she knows it is activated, for now.

The oni called out to her as she gestured with her fist. "Let's settle our one thousand years of unsettled match!"

Rain did not falter nor moved from where she is standing. She's thinking on what to do. Does fighting is the only way? Her mind then recalled the people at the gate, just near the onis. Hopefully they are fine as she's the main target of the two yokai.

Her hands then formed into a fist and gritted her teeth. If she recalls correctly, the onis takes pride in strength. Hence, she'll have to fight them with her barehands.

With a loud voice, she spoke. "I don't remember you but at the same time I have the feeling that I do... and that you're annoying..." Her tone was deadly serious as she assumes a fighting stance. "...you're gonna regret punching me in the face..."

Even if in this situation. Rain cannot risk to let the others be caught in this fight. So she has to lure the two away from here. But Yuugi clearly knows how she thinks and she won't fight seriously unless she needs to. That's why the unexplainable phenomena wielding oni knows what she needs to do in order to force Rain to do so.

Yuugi gave a wide grin and replied. "Heh! I'd like to see you try..." She turned her attention to the mother and the little girl just a few meters away from her.

The little girl shouts at her with insults. "You big bully! Leave her alone! Miss Rain, will kick your butts!" Her mother tried to shut her up but to no avail as she keeps struggling. Indeed, this display is very courageous but a dangerous act.

"Shut up, brat." Yuugi directed a punch at them.

The mother's eyes widen and could only shield her daughter as they both closed their eyes.

But the punch did not reach them. They slowly opened their eyes and saw Rain, who blocks the oni's furious punch with her own hands. Even if Rain's far away from them, she's able to quickly move in to save them.

Yuugi gave a short laugh as she reacted to this. "Ahaha! I knew'd you do it!" she said as she uses her other hand to take a sip from her dish. "About time, you get serious!" As she said this she threw the dish to the small oni, who quickly catches it. Another punch from her now free hand came in and Rain quickly intercepted it.

"Keh!" Rain grunts as she tries to keep it from reaching her. Now it looks like a game of holding out as the two makes an effort to push each other. Rain's face is very serious as their eyes met. Glaring at each other.

Yuugi is known as the one who can flatten trees with only her voice and make houses fall with her footsteps. She's not really that serious in harming the humans but she must at least act like it in order to provoke Rain.

"Then I should be getting serious too. Now...what will you do?" Yuugi said as she increased the amount of force she's using. The sound of the ground slowly cracking due to it could be heard.

For an oni, Yuugi is very tall, taller than Rain and it could be seen that she's much more stronger than her as Rain's about to be pushed back sooner or later.

Rain cannot launch an attack and exchange blows with Yuugi as she knows it will affect the area and especially the people behind her.

'I can't fight back not yet...' Rain mentally said.

Seeing Rain fight for them the humans are stunned to see her stand her ground to an oni.

'Why is she not fighting back?' one of the guards thought and then it finally occurs to him the reason.

'To protect us from being hurt... she's waiting for us to move those two!' He thought and then looks at his fellow guard.

The two guards then quickly looked at each other and nodded. They seemed to have the same idea. Then they quickly move to the mother and little girl to escort them back to safety.

"Let's go! She cannot fight if you stay here with your daughter!" He said as he and the other guard helps them up and escorts them back inside the gate to safety.

As they escorts them back, the little girl shouted to Rain. "Beat up the mean oni! Miss! I believe in you! Do your best!!!" She repeated the last line again and again.

"Do your best!" Echoed and the other human villagers also chanted along.

Rain hears this and gave a soft smile. "Good..." she uttered and then finally makes her move. With her hands interlocked within the fist of the oni. Even if Yuugi is taller than her, Rain uses her own head to bash the oni's face.

"Gruh!" Yuugi grunted as she stumbled back, releasing her grip on both Rain's hands.

"Ooh! Good one!" Suika commented as she watches the fight at the side.

For the oni like them, they want to have fun. Doesn't matter if they lose or win. It is the thrill of the battle that excites them especially this is the reason they went underground in the first place. After the notable humans that can match them have been declining in the passage of time. They are getting bored as the humans are avoiding them, too weak to fight them, or the strong ones are getting old and weak to keep up with them. There is one exception however and that would be the human fighting them now. When Rain disappeared, many things have happened that led to them to their current state. There are four notable onis that once fought against her. That would be The Free Spirited Oni: Suika Ibuki, The Unexplainable Phenomenon Oni: Yuugi Hoshiguma, The Wile and Heinous Oni: Kasen Ibaraki, and lastly The Towering and Immovable Oni: Seitaka Toraguma.

"That was quite weak. Did time made you weaker or is it something else?" Yuugi said as she shakes her head not because of the headbutt but from how weak it is. "If Seitaka saw you. She probably won't hold back and gladly pummel this whole area down if this was at the past but she's more docile now... heh... that's enough reminiscing about the past. Time to pound you into a bean paste!"

Just as she said that a blue light surrounded them and a few moments they are now entrapped in a giant square. This is without a doubt a barrier. As for who casted or set it up is unknown. A fight cage is what this is could be called. The barrier itself maybe a protection to minimize the damage of the fight or perhaps it is just there to trap them.

"Eh? I'm not inside the barrier?" Suika said as she touches the barrier from the outside. Seems like it was just aimed at the two and it is gradually expanding.

"Oh? A barrier? Heh... no matter, this is perfect as I can now punch with all my might. Though I doubt this barrier can withstand it." Yuugi said as she examined the barrier, very confident of her own strength.

"What a coincidence. That's what I'm thinking too..." Rain said and cracks up her fists. "Now... let us talk face to fist!"

Mayohiga –Yesterday–

"Okina already left. How about you? Kasen? Still have something to say to me?" Yukari said sitting in a chair and across her would be Kasen. Looking at her silently for a moment. Then she finally opens her mouth and spoke.

"I don't like your plan... it reeks of manipulation and deceit." She stated her opinion on Yukari's plan.

"Well this time, we have to. No matter what if you push for the truth then everything will fall apart. Do you want our efforts throughout all these years to go down the drain? Certainly not. Rain herself, would scold you for doubting her. What we need now is trust not truth." Yukari explained with her natural facial expression but those words are both a warning and reminder to Kasen. Though the she says the word trust, her plan itself is full of manipulation and deceit which is the opposite of what she just said.

Kasen expelled a deep sigh and slowly gazed to her artificial arm wrapped in bandages. There was a moment of silence before she speaks again.

"If she trust you then I should too but that doesn't mean I won't stick my neck to your other ulterior motives."

Yukari chuckles at this and replied. "Well, she and I are not exactly friends. More of like a rival..." she paused for a bit as she thinks. "Ah... the correct words would be 'Enemies with benefits'." This was followed with a short chuckle again. "I'll let you have your own imagination on it. Though what we really did was keeping our friends close but our enemies closer."

Kasen knows what Yukari is doing so she didn't dwell on that matter but instead shoots another question to her. "I'd like to touch another problem and that would be regarding her power over faith." Kasen eyes narrowed as she said this.

Yukari herself already have expected this question and without skipping a beat she answered. "Ah, yes the very concept that keeps the gods alive and make them powerful. To put it simple, Rain didn't have that ability back then. Do you know where it came from?" Yukari seems to be testing Kasen's intellect.

"From a god?" She answered swiftly after all this is a logical and closest answer.

"Tut. Wrong." She puts up a finger. "Her sword mastery and physical attributes are from her own self. But the faith ability came from the humans." Yukari said and Kasen seems to be baffled at this.

"Humans? How? I know we need them to believe in gods and fear the unknown..." She trails off as she soon gets what Yukari means.

Yukari upon seeing her reaction smiled and said. "I can see that you finally get it. How do you think she's able to beat you and the other yokai with only physical attacks? Normally it isn't enough to exterminate but she can." She asked her but she continued. "Just like how you believed back then that she'll beat you. Yes... the word itself... belief. Empowers her. Back then the humans feared the night and the yokai which in turn nourish us. But not everything is all fear, when humans are pushed to the corner they seek the light within the darkness and that would be hope. In the hopes of defeating a yokai. When a person finally stood up for them. They placed their hopes for her. Thus... a new power is born and a hero is made."

"So... I believed in her defeating me? The power to use hope and faith..." Kasen seems to be in deep thought as she questions herself.

Yukari still with a smile said. "Okina already figured that out. I thought you did so too but I guess that is to be expected. To add more, hope, belief are not the only ones that she can gain extra power from..." She paused to see Kasen looking at her with an anticipating face. "Fear... even us yokai have fear. Hence why, spreading rumors of her and her influence makes her more stronger. When the humans believed that she can kill the yokai then she can and along with the fear from the yokai themselves that they can be exterminated by her. Though a lot of time has passed, only a few humans knows of her but the yokai will always remember. But that fear does not extend to us yokai but to others also. That's why none can defeat her during her prime. I'm still investigating how her power works but I have the feeling that it does not end there."

Kasen seems convinced but seemingly still unable to believe it. "That's why I lost?" She once again looks at her artificial arm. A voice from the past echoes through her mind.

"I'll defeat you. For the sake of the people of Gensokyo and for yourself. I'll shall severe your malevolence and wickedness. So believe in me and to yourself. For as long as you believe then there's still hope. Now concentrate all of your evil into that arm! You won't win unless you unleash your wickedness onto me using all of it! Let's finish this! Once and for all...Ibaraki-Douji!"

Upon remembering those words, her face light up and she smiled while her own thoughts escapes from her mouth. "So I was yearning to be defeated... I believed in her..."

Yukari seems to be pleased by her reaction and said. "Yes, you did. You really owe her a lot as you made her come through hell and back. Literally. Remember where the sword Onikimaru was forged?"

Kasen nodded and said. "Hell itself. Earth's Hell to be exact."

Onikimaru the very sword that severed her right arm. The ultimate oni-slaying sword. It was forged in Hell because this is where most malice and wickedness are found. The raging fires of hell aided in its forging. This is also the very same place where it was destroyed, only a fragment of it now remains. The process on how it is created and forged is only known by its owner and the forger.

"Oh? I do remember, Rain ranting about it back then. The hell's goddess is very hard to deal with or so I am told."

Kasen remembers the past and gently shakes her head. "It is. She made the whole Hell come after us. Like a game of hunting. With the promise of whoever kills us gets to leave hell...if only I wasn't weakened back then..." She scoffs at her own statement.

The gap yokai is entertained in talking about the past and said. "Must have been fun but Rain did say she's very mad about it." She softly laughs.

As they talked about the past a certain topic came about to Kasen's mind and she asks her fellow sage.

"The name Rain Nanase is not her actual name. You, me and some select others. Knows her other name. But do you exactly know what is her true name?" She asks hoping to get an answer.

"Well, there are people that also didn't used their actual name, like mine. Do you think it is quite rude to ask her that?" She replied as she pulls out a cup of tea from one of her gaps.

"I see, it isn't that important but I wanted to ask anyway."

Yukari drinks from her tea and after that she gave a smile to her. "But... there is one thing that she told me and that would be..." She seems to be stopping on important parts as she fishes out the reaction of Kasen. "...she has many names. She herself has said that she'll only be using them when she feels like it and when it is time to act as that name. Pretty weird, no? But who am I to say that? Even I could not fully comprehend her which makes her more interesting to me. Like that time... when the outside humans have forsaken her, all because of a certain event... but did she blamed them? The answer would be no, like what happened to us yokai...when people no longer needs something they tend to forget about it and just toss it away."

"Her true name... perhaps there is a good reason to it being hidden." Kasen muttered as a gap appeared in front of her and the hand that came out of it placed another cup of tea.

"Thanks...I'd like to know more about what really happened that led her here in Gensokyo. I know you have something to do with it. I didn't asked back then about it... but I have to know what is that occult that started that incident? The one that claimed both 'The First Hakurei' and 'The Legendary Yokai Exterminator'... I was there when it happened...I couldn't do anything...but watch... the second Hakurei grew up without her mother because of them." She said as she takes the tea with her trembling hands and drinks from it.

"Hmm... I guess there's no harm in telling you. This is an event that forced us, a human and a yokai to work together that will eventually lead to what you are asking..."

Yukari face seemed a bit sad about it as she said that but it was for a brief moment. The truth might be because she feels responsible for not being able to help back then. Due to her being asleep as it is winter at that time. The falling of the snow is what signified the tears of Gensokyo. It become the mourning month and the start of a new time of where the decline of the exterminators started. Leaving only one known strong exterminator from beyond the Human Village. The Second Hakurei who inherited the title in such a young age.

The two seems to be in good talk when it comes talking to the past. After all this events at the past is what shaped the future.

Kasen is eager to hear all of it. No matter how long it will take. She will listen. As this time it is finally her chance to save her. There is another yet unaswered question. If Rain who is known as the 'Legendary Yokai Exterminator' has somehow returned then what about the other person 'The First Hakurei' who disappeared along with her?

Back at the present

"Oraaa!" Rain shouted as she pulls a punch to Yuugi. Which in turn was returned with a punch also.

Their fist collided and the area around them boomed with the force of their punches. The barrier around them extends even to the one they are standing on. This is to prevent damage to the area, it will be contained here in the ring like barrier. It maybe small but it is enough for the two of them to move around and fight.

Rain is using her chi to keep up with the oni. This time empowering herself with it instead of using the same one used back then with Meiling. As even if she doubles her attack, it won't do a thing as it doesn't have enough power.

(Cue, Rules of Nature - Metal Gear Rising)

"Ahahaha! That's the spirit! Come on! Keep up!" Yuugi with a grin said and then started to give her a front kick which knocks Rain back at the border of the barrier.

"Cheh!" Rain gave a grunting sound as she's been hit directly.

She quickly recovered and saw the oni coming at her at full force. The incoming flurry of punches assailed her and she retaliated with her fist.

The time has come to an end.

Yeah! This is what nature planned.

A stand off from exchanging punches can be seen. The spectactors from the outside can feel the vibrating of the ground and due to the super fast exchanges of the two. They could not see it and they realized that the two are standing still but that is not the case as it was too fast for them to follow.

"Grrryaah!" Rain made a breakthrough as she saw an opening. Breaking the stand off.

"Pheh! Not bad! But not enough!" She used the short chains in her hand to attack Rain with it. The chains were heavy enough to hurt if applied with enough force and deadly enough when an oni uses it. An oni's punch is deadly enough what more if they started to use a heavy object?

Rain quickly blocks it with her hands as dodging at this time is not possible. When it hits her. She could feel her whole body reacting to it. She felt pain as her hands turn slightly red from it and somehow a heat of smoke eminates from it, probably due to how much force was put into it.

"This is the Rules of Nature! Just like back then! Remember! That's why I'm here! To make you remember the past! The thrill of the battle!" Yuugi shouted at her with compassion as she continues her attacks.

Suika still watching them, reaches for her gourd and pours sake to the dish that Yuugi gave to her.

"You may not show it but I know that you're just helping her in your own way. Yuugi..." she uttered to herself and then takes a sip from the dish filled with sake.

The game of life.

The hunter and the agile prey.

No guarantee.

Which of them will succeed?

Strong or weak?

"Nghh! I don't remember such a thing!" Rain spun around her and then kicks her. Though Yuugi catches her kick and then tosses her aback.

Rules of Nature!!!

"You'd become weak... but the courage still remains. Lose and the people behind you are dead. Do you want that? No? Then fight like you mean it!" Yuugi gave her a threat which was of course a fake one not that Rain knows that she really can't harm them.

Pushed to a corner like a mouse she has no choice but to fight. Even if she drew her sword that would just stain the honor she have as her opponent is unarmed. But who said anything about unsheathing it?

The sounds of Yuugi's chains and her scabbard hitting each other resounded throughout the area. It looks like it worked. Her scabbard is acting like a shield. It is sturdy enough to hold off such an attack. A very clever move by Rain. Aside from her shoulder armor protecting her, this is also a good defense.

The humans keep on cheering for her. Especially when she did that. Some words of encouragement are heard such as "Don't give up!" and "We believe in you!".

The fight continues as the two exchanged different attacks. Each making use of their limbs. Rain herself is getting stronger from the beliefs she is receiving.

There is one thing that Rain has an advantage of and that would be her agility. She's much faster than Yuugi and with her getting stronger. The power she is lacking is slowly being supplied.

"?!" Yuugi finally noticed her attacks are getting stronger.

'So, you're finally going to do it? Show it to me... the technique that brought down Seitaka to her knees.'

Rain without herself realizing it that her right fist is starting to be enveloped in a red aura. She felt a very heavy feeling and that same fist has started to move very slow as she makes a punch to Yuugi's face.

What Yuugi saw made her hallucinate or perhaps it is her very own instincts screaming danger, "Death" is what is being said but the best word to describe on how a yokai is dealt with is "Extermination". Her eyes widen as she saw this punch coming but she can't move away from it. Any second and it will hit her but that never came to pass as Rain suddenly coughs up blood.

"Gaargh!" Rain felt a sharp pain from her head and she felt weak. The pain was enough to make her kneel as she continued to cough up blood. Her breathing became shallow as it feels like she is choking. What is this? Why now? Those are the words that she is thinking but the pain is enough to make those very same thoughts to burst like a bubble.

Rain tries to get up to continue the fight... if she falls now then what would happen to them? But the more she struggles to use her strength the more her body is not listening to her.

"Kuhrgh...I-...I- I can't...n-not yet... fight...I can..." She looks up to Yuugi as the oni stares down at her. Her vision is getting blurry, it is almost the same as that one back then.

However, Yuugi did nothing and simply said. "This fight is over... no one wins. In the end, it remained an unsettled match... yet again. I'll fight you once again after you're back to your former self. For now, I'll be going back..." She trails off as the barrier that imprisoned them slowly dissolves. "Come, Suika. I need a drink..." She slowly walks away from Rain as Suika followed her.

"Till we meet again, human...no...Rain. Be careful as I don't know who else would come to settle their affairs with you. Especially to those who hold a grudge... hopefully, Seitaka won't come after you as she's more laid back now."

"Buh-Bye! I enjoyed the fight! Next time, I'l have you in a drinking battle with me!" Suika declared to which Yuugi chimed in.

"Oh? Count me in too!" The two cheerfully talked as they became a small figure from walking in the distance.

Rain herself is still awake and heard every last bit of it.

"..." When she knows that the fight is over and the two onis are gone. She finally collapses to the ground. Before her body shuts down. She can hear some footsteps running towards her as she closes her eyes.

Echoing Voices Sakura, Sakura ~ Dyed in Red — Part 2

(Cue, Sakura Sakura~ Japanize Dream by Xi-on)

"Hello, old friend of mine,

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom this time around,

I still remember how beautiful a sakura tree when it blooms,

It is sad that I can't see them bloom with you anymore,

As you're not here with us anymore."

"I will remember your smile as bright as day,

Your hair as pink as the cherry blossom petals,

Your body as beautiful as the sakura tree,

Whenever you dance under the moon,

and the sakura trees are in full bloom,

It is a sight to behold."

"You're like a cherry blossom,

You're about to bloom,

But that never came to pass,

Like this tree where you came to rest.

Sakura, sakura, that was once in full bloom,

How I wish you were there with us to enjoy the view."

"Sakura, sakura, dyed in red,

Every bloom reminds me of you,

Going very far from the point that I can't reach you."

"Sakura, sakura, how I miss you,

It should have been me,

But you wouldn't let me.

The world will never know your sacrifice

But the others and I will."

"Sakura, sakura, dyed in red,

I want to us to have a heart to heart,

But what took place instead was my sword into your heart."

"Sakura, sakura, that I dyed in red,

I hope you'll forgive me, my dear friend.

It is not yet time for me to join you,

After all, my time is already frozen,

Just like my heart."

"When I found out that the people you saved,

Thought I saved them from a monster,

But in truth they are the real monsters."

"Goodbye for now, my old friend,

I've met others like you, not just humans but also other beings,

And they too want peace,

That day will come where no one will be called a monster ever again,

Hand in hand we'll march into the future,

Where in the end lies the peace you sought and dreamed of."

"So for now, rest in peace my dear friend,

Perhaps when that day comes,

The cherry blossoms that I will see are no longer stained in blood."

"...Wish you were here to laugh at my poor poetry... if one day we'll meet again. I'll be sure to be your friend again."

"...Ngh..." Rain grunts as she finally woke up. Staring at a ceiling. She slowly rose up and quickly looks around. What she saw are furnitures and a closet, an old one to be precise. She's on a bed with only her undergarments again. Unlike last time, she reacted violently about this but this time she calmly nodded as she remembers losing concsciousness from the battle with Yuugi.

She's without a doubt in a small room, a bedroom to be exact.

"Ah, damn it... just what is that?" Rain said to herself as she remembers the blood coughing scene.

'Am I sick or something? Whatever it is... it's getting worse...' Her thoughts trails off as the bedroom door creaks open and a person comes in to the room.

It's an old man. He is bald, with bushy eyebrows, his eyes are squinted, and has a goatee. He wears a kimono with sandals which is the typical dress of the villagers that are living in the Human Village. That would mean Rain is inside the Human Village and this would be the house of the old man.

"Seems like your awake. Young lady... or should I say miss Rain?" the old man gently said.

Rain with only her sarashi covering her front and wearing her bloomers replied. "You are?"

The old man chuckled and quickly said. "My apologies, I'm Unshou. Just your local fisherman and a doctor." He introduced himself.

"A doctor? I guess, that means I passed out, huh?" Rain slowly casts her eyes down.

"Yes, that would be the case. The people who saw you fight the oni quickly brought you here. You've been out for half an hour. They are waiting for you outside as we speak." He said seemingly sighing happily. "These people wanted to thank you personally for protecting them. Especially the mother and daughter."

Rain's eyes slowly look up to Unshou. She somehow thinks doesn't deserve to be thanked as she is the one who brought trouble to them. After all, she is the one that the onis are after. She slowly nods and gets up, revealing her almost bare body to the old man.

She asked him "Where are my clothes and weapon?"

"Going to greet them personally? My... the rumors are indeed true... please wait for moment..." He goes out of the room to retrieve her clothes and weapon.

Rain was in deep thought hence she didn't get to ask the old man to let her do it. After all, both her clothes and weapons are very heavy.

As she awaits, she is thinking what the oni Yuugi had said to her.

"You'd become weak... Remember the past... The thrill of the battle..." These words echoed through her mind but nothing came to light.

"What does she mean by that?" She uttered to herself as she stretched out her arms. There's no pain nor anything wrong with it. She then checks her whole body by touching and moving but there's nothing wrong with her.

With all that, Unshou returned with her belongings. Surprisingly his carrying it like a light baggage.

He didn't forget to knock so as to respect her. "Here you go." He said as he puts down her clothes and weapon. They are arranged quite well. Before Unshou leaves, Rain thanks her and asks him.

"Thank you, but may I know if is there something wrong with me? I mean... I do remember coughing up blood..."

Unshou strokes his goatee and calmly replied. "I'm sorry but I don't know myself. You were in a pretty bad shape when they brought you in. The only thing that I managed to treat was your light wounds you'd taken from fighting the oni. As for the reason of your collapse, I'd deduced that you'd overwork your body to the point that it is refusing to work with you..." He stops for a moment and thinks. "But, I doubt that would be it. Maybe a curse is involved or so to say magic."

Truth be told. He was partly right. It was the seal itself that rendered Rain weak and unable to bring out her power. There are conditions in its activation. First, is that she cannot exceed her power. This is very vague but it is the condition, she's able to defend and attack but not cause great destruction. Simply put the power output she may have is that she's able to fight and fight back without getting killed.

The second, is the disallow of the usage of magic. As magic itself is a very vast of potential of new discovery for the better or worse. As Patchouli have seen, Rain's very capable of it and may very well have a lot of magic spells for different purposes in her arsenal.

The final one, should the seal be broken or removed. A signal would appear for the chosen few to know about it.

The seal itself is weakening. Anytime, it could be broken. This was made specifically for Rain and the one who came up with this seal was none other than "The First Hakurei" or also known as "Rei No Hakurei" as its translation. She is an expert in magic and sealing. The most notable part about her is that she hides her face with a mask.

It could be repaired but the method of doing so was lost in time and was never handed down to the others as they both disappeared during the unforseen attack of the combined forces of evil humans and yokai who sought to bring the world back to their own ideals. It was thwarted but with a cost.

"I see..." Rain said as she puts her hands on her clothes. "Regardless, thank you again for helping me."

With that Unshou leaves her alone again for her to get dressed.

With Rain dressed, she steps outside the room. Unshou was waiting for her at a table. There are teas waiting for her. She knows what the old man is trying to say without him actually saying it. So, she took a seat and casually lifts the tea and drinks it.

That tea she is drinking is a green tea. Great for calming the mind and the heart. With a rejuvenized energy. Rain gave a relaxing sigh and commented. "This tea hits the spot... thank you for this. You really are a good doctor." She praised him and the old man was humbled.

"Haha, just me being a hospitable host. I'm actually more honored to finally meet the woman of legend. The one that my grandfather and father used to tell me about."

Again, Rain herself did not know why people are calling her that. This time, she won't be interrupted, so she asks.

"I keep hearing the people calling me that... but I don't remember anything from the past. Could you tell me more about it?" She took a sip from her tea.

Unshou nodded and started his talk. "The Legendary Yokai Exterminator. That would be you, miss Rain. My grandfather has told be that you've earned this title from exterminating the yokai that has plagued us from the past. People became inspired to follow in your footsteps and that's why many people became yokai exterminators too." He stops for a bit as he takes his tea and takes a sip from it. "You'd given knowledge on how to fight and deal with the yokai. Much like how the Gensokyo Chronicles have compiled about them. Maybe you are one of the contributors in such knowledge about them. As only a few would have to live to tell the tale of encountering let alone exterminating a yokai."

This huge chunk of information, seems to fazed Rain for a moment. Nevertheless, she must push on to recovering her memories.

"I see, is there anymore you could tell?" She asks him in polite manner.

Unshou slowly shakes his head and replied. "I'm afraid, that's all that I remember. I am old and I don't quite remember all the things from the past. I'm also quite not sure if all of the things that I said are accurate after all, it came from the word of the mouth and it was a long time ago." He seems to be finished but he then grins and added. "Though, there is one thing that I'm sure of... and that is that you're as beautiful as they have said! To think that an old man like me gets to see such a beauty and even such a slender yet a fine build body." He laughs as he said that.

Rain could only smile at the old man's words. There's no need to be angry and be upset about.

"Ahaha...oops! You better get going. The village's head just visited a while ago but since you're asleep. They've left but told me to say thank you."

Rain nodded and finishes her tea. She slowly stood up and thanks Unshou again. Before leaving his house.

As she opens the door. The sun's rays blinded her for a moment but what came next was a bunch of crowds waiting for her outside.

The people quickly took noticed of her and flocks to her.

"She's awake!" said by a man in the crowd.

"Hey, don't push around! Give her some space!" The people headed this and let Rain come forward.

"You people? Did you willingly waited all this time?" Rain said a she looks around to the crowd in front of her.

One of them quickly replied. "Of course! You protected us and we wanted to thank you! Please accept these as a tokens of thanks." A man steps forward and gives a basket of full of different vegetables. Apparently, this came from all of them.

Rain wanted to refuse the token but saying no might be rude and make them think that this is not enough. So she gladly accepted them with a smile. "Thank you."

Among the crowd a little girl called out to her. It was the same girl she escorted back to the village. "Miss! You're alright! I knew that you're too strong to be defeated!" She runs to her and gave her a hug though she's only hugging Rain's legs as she's too tall for her.

Rain plays along with her and said. "Heh! Kid, do you think an oni is enough to make me stay in bed?" She caresses the hair of the little girl with her hand.

The mother of the girl also approached her and said. "Thank you for saving me and my daughter! I'm forever grateful to you!" She bows her head and turned to her daughter. "Now, Etsuko... aren't you going to give her something?"

"Oh! I have this!" Etsuko rummaged her pocket and then gives Rain a seemingly wrapped food. Rather, this was a candy. "It's super tasty! I've been saving it to eat for later! But, I'm giving this to you!" She gaves a cheerful smile as she returns to her mother.

"Thanks, kid. I'll eat this for later. Don't let your mother be worried again." Rain said and then waves goodbye to them. As they waited wanted to thank her, before returning home.

Rain entertained the remaining crowd. Most of them gave her their thanks and even invites her to their shop. In this village, people do business as their main occuapation. As the crowds disperse, Rain herself has the time to travel around the village.

Walking to a corner, Rain hears a voice and it specifically called out to her.

"Human! I've seen how you fight! Clearly you are what we need!"

Rain quickly turns around and sees an otter like animal covered in green aura, resting on top of barrel.

She looks at it and waited for it to continue.

"The Beast Spirits are planning to take over the surface world with brute force and there are many of them! Please, I need you to venture into Hell with me and put a stop to their plans!"

Rain's face turned serious and her eyes flickered in interest. With that she said. "Tell me more about this... what a day for me..."

Somewhere in Hell

"Hmm, you've done quite well to follow me." A blonde girl with a short hair with yellow antler-like horns said as she flew in the air.

"Tch... huff... this wind is way too strong..." Reimu huffs before continuing. "But now that I found you, beast spirit. There's no way I'd let you escape. I'd come down here in Hell in search of a beast spirit who's plotting to take over the surface world..." She then pointed her gohei at the said beast spirit. "Would that happen to be you?"

The beast spirit with red eyes with a long tail chuckled and replied. "Oh, you came here to subjugate the beast spirits?" She then slowly shakes her head and continued. "But alas, I'm afraid that the beast spirits you need to defeat...are not here in Hell."

Reimu scoffs at her. "Yeah right. You're just trying to trick me. Planning to send me into a wild goose chase, I presume?"

However the beast spirit replied. "If you don't believe me, then fine. Feel free to wander forever in Hell's infinitely vast space." She said preparing to leave.

"H-hey! I guess I could hear you out just a little?"

Smirking the beast spirit declared "Heh heh. That settles it, then. If you can beat me, I'll tell you where your real enemy is."

"Fine by me! I'll kick your sorry butt and have you spit it out!" Reimu said as her yin-yang orbs begins to circulate around her and readying her talismans.

Somewhere in the Human Village

"I can't believe it... an incident happening. I pretty sure Reimu's already in the case." Rain said as she walks down on the road.

She maybe talking to herself if other people saw her but in truth. The otter spirit is resting at her shoulder as they both talk.

"What puzzles me, miss. Is that I can't seem to possess you. I won't be able to lend you my help if I can't. Though you said there are other people willing to help?" The beast spirit asks.

"Like I said, as very much I like to... I can't because I'm more or less inefficient compared to the other people I know but I can take you to them. But can't say that they'll be there. I just need a good eat because that battle left me hungry. You see, I got offered free food." She raises the basket with the vegetables. "But these are ingredients... so good thing that ramen food store owner gave me a one time free meal!" She said excitedly. "I think he said that his shop is just around the corner."

The otter spirit doesn't get what Rain is thinking but it should probably stick with her as she is by far the only candidate that it has saw which could defeat "The Wicked God of Destruction That Defies The Laws of The Beast".

"Excuse me..." Rain asked a passing human villager.

"Yes? Oh? It's you miss Rain!" He gladly said.

"Um...do you know where the ramen stall is? I get to dine free there. hehe." She seems to be happy about this. After all, a free food is a free food.

"Yup! Just turn to a corner over there and that's it. Your free food is already within your reach!" He seems to be playing along with Rain's happy mood.

"Got it! Thanks!" She waves goodbye to him and walks to the direction she was directed with.

After a few walks she then turns to a corner but alas something always happens when one turns to a corner. Yes, she bumps into another person. The said person she bumps into fell to their butt with a thud sound. Seems like this person is small enough to fall into that state easily.

"Ow!" It was a small and feminine voice. Rain quickly reaches out her hand to that person.

"Hey you alright? Sorry I didn't see...you..." Her last words trailed off as she saw this person.

She has the same color of hair as Rain is and the way she's dressed is in aquamarine vest. Almost the same as Rain's outfit but Rain's outfit is a vest with armor and more green. She also has a pair of swords equipped to her waist.

"...I'm fine. Thank-..." Her eyes widen as she saw Rain.

Rain herself knows who this girl is as she keeps hearing her name and how much they look alike. This girl is none other than-

"Youmu..." Rain uttered the other silver-haired girl's name.

A/N: Heck yeah, they finally meet! Took me a while on writing this one as I got stuck on the poem and battle execution. Writing poetry surely is not my cup of tea. Lol.

So here's some facts about this chapter! Its title is a reference to a game and the same song! It fits quite well as we can that Yuugi is the bigger one than Rain (both on height and um you know what I mean). It symbolizes and references the past where no spell card rules exist yet. It was supposed to be Seitaka fighting Rain but I decided to lay her off for a bit. But she's very tall! Hence her title Towering Oni! She's known to be the most sturdiest and highest defense oni.

Anyways, thanks for reading! On the next chapter? We'll get to see Youmu get the knowledge of knowing that there's A Soul That Can't Be Cut!
