Haku nodded, and sighed, "I'll give you some peace...We're gonna be here for the rest of the day...The hordes are dead thanks to the army, but we still have injured ones, and unfortunately a few ones who are dead...We're burying them tonight...We can't afford to transport them back to Narnia or the other kingdoms right now...And the other baby is alive and breathing, and... just you know, it was too early to tell, but I think it was a boy...", gesturing to the tiny corpse in Mulan's hand before getting up and leaving the grieving couple...

Mulan looked at their tiny son...So small in her hand...She isn't never going to know what he was going to look like, having Mulan's pale skin or Jason's tan skin, Mulan's black hair or Jason's brown hair, and Mulan's dark-ish brown, nearly black eyes or Jason's dark blue eyes...But there was still something she can do...

"Ping...", Mulan spoke shakily, looking up at Jason with tears falling down her cheeks, "He would have been Ping Alfred Fa-Valkara...in honor of your adoptive father and my fake name...".

"He would've been wonderful... Oh, Ping...", the dam broke for Jason as he began to just start crying hard. He couldn't control himself, he felt even more sick than the sniper incident that had messed him up for such a long time.

Mulan carefully held Jason as he collapsed against her, her arm wrapped around him as she still held their tiny son's body in her other hand, not knowing what to say yet she cried together with him, only their dreams of Ping's life flashing through their minds, rubbing Jason's back as Jason cried so hard, sobbing as Mulan's heart broke for Jason, for herself, for little Ping, yet there was still whole pieces of her heart there, for she is still pregnant with another baby, and that she is not alone for she has Jason, her friends, her parents...

Jason looked around through the glimpses of the tent and saw that at least the battle was pretty much won now, which allowed Mulan and him to have their private moments with the life they lost. He wrapped his arms around her tight as he kept sobbing with her.

After some long, hard minutes, Jason was spent out of tears, and Mulan kissed his forehead, "I have to get up, Jason...Will you hold Ping?...", and Jason whispered softly, "Yes..", and Mulan gently passed their tiny son's corpse into his hand. Mulan got her undergarments back on, getting up shakily yet determined out of bed, and closed her eyes as she rubbed her belly, and opened them again to look at Jason who is staring upon their tiny son...

Mulan spoke quietly, "Are you able to walk with me? I..have to check on my troops and King Mickey...On the way, we can find...a place to bury him...".

"I'll stay by your side at every second now.", Jason told her as he got up to walk with her. "Thank you, Jason...", Mulan sniffled.

They slowly exited the healers' tent, their pale faces streaked of tears, noticing that the clouds are covering the sky as if the day is mourning the loss of life within the army and more...

Jason was so gentle with their tiny son's corpse, close to his heart in his hand as he walked next to Mulan, seeing perhaps 1,000 dead soldiers from the ambush, scattered, with different insignias of kingdoms on their uniforms...Men, women, and creatures as well.

"Should've known Frollo would at least try something...", Jason sighed. "I'd rather wish this had been the last battle... many more are still going to die before this is over.", Mulan shook her head.

"At least the path is clear now... hopefully we did much more damage to Frollo here despite the ambush.", Jason replied sharply.

Mulan nodded, "I think we did. It was mainly evil creatures...", with a sigh as they walked on, seeing the enemy hordes scattered in death as well, and Mulan saw the one who inflicted the wound on her, the large black werewolf...She was glad that she avenged Ping in a way by killing the werewolf in the heart...

The rest of the massive army is now camping out beyond the scattered field of deaths, with Pippa listening to Reality through her amulet, and made the meadow vast to fit the army...Mulan and Jason walked to the Narnian camp, with many soldiers looking their way with weary, tired, determined, concerned, and even sympathetic faces.

"Well, whatever Frollo was attempting was mostly a bust; the pass is clear, and it should be a straight shot now to his stronghold hopefully.", Zuri said as the grieving couple rejoined the others.

King Mickey looked their way with a sad face, "Haku has told us all...I am terribly sorry, Mulan. You're one of my dearest friends, and no one should face something like this, yet you are...You must keep going for the other baby within you, for the sake of Jason...Is that...", looking at Jason's hand...

Jason nodded roughly, "Yeah...", his voice crackling, "He...deserved to feel the sun somehow...We gave him a name nonetheless...Ping Alfred Fa-Valkara...".

Emma gave a sad smile, "That is a respectable name...", and Mulan nodded with a tiny smile, "Thank you, Emma...How many did we lose?".

Mickey exhaled deeply and heavily, "250 Narnians...The Coronians lost 200. The Fantasia army lost 150. The Congo army lost 175. And the Atlantis army lost 100. The Griffins, 50 lost.".

"Nearly a thousand... almost a fifteenth of our force.", Logan tightened his fist in frustration. "We knew it wasn't going to be easy to get here.", Emma reminded. "Still, hopefully Frollo suffered worse in exchange for this delay today."

"Will, will there be time to bury the dead?", Mulan asked. Mickey nodded, "I talked with the others...We're burying them this afternoon and evening...We can't afford to transport their bodies home by portal as it's too risky...".

Mulan nodded, and Captains Helga and Phoebus came into the tent, having tired yet respectful looks on their faces, and Phoebus looked at Mulan, "We heard the news...I hope it isn't disrespectful to say, but we...we found a place for your boy...".

Jason shakily replied, "Thank you, Captain Phoebus...", before glancing at Mulan, "Mulan?".

Mulan spoke quietly yet firmly, "Lead the way...", and Captains Phoebus and Helga nodded in confirmation, and led the way, with Mulan and Jason following them, with the team behind them, and King Mickey as well, heading out of the tent.

Soldiers formed a path, with Talking Wolves howling a mournful song, with banners high as they kneeled down, and Jason whispered, "What are they doing?", and Mulan, with tears falling down her face, replied, "Paying respects to our son...They may not have known him, but they know me and you...For Ping is a general's son, and a soldier/archer's son...", glancing at their tiny son's corpse in Jason's hand.

"Maybe it might be for the best if you hold back in the final battle... I don't want to lose you and our other child too.", Jason whispered to her as the somber ceremony continued.

Mulan exhaled, looking sharply at Jason, "We'll talk later.", whispering quietly, and Jason realized that it wasn't the time to talk about that as this is more important than anything else, and nodded, kissing her temple, "Forgive me...", and Mulan squeezed his other hand, reassuring him that she isn't mad at him as she leaned into his side as they walked.

The path soon ended with the ceremony, with no more soldiers or music on either side of them, and the whole group approached a peaceful little pond with two cherry blossom trees just before and between the pond.

John replied, "Where, General?", and Mulan shakily pointed with a finger, "Right there.", to a spot that's center, equal distance from the pond and the trees altogether, and John nodded, using his cyborg arm to dig a hole just enough to fit a tiny coffin deep and securely.

Mickey clicked his hands, and his magician's hat appeared on his head, and with white-bronze glowing hands, a boulder just off the clearing of the pond lifted up, changing shape and size into a magnificent tombstone with deep, intricate words on it.

'Ping Alfred Fa-Valkara. Conceived with love and died in peace. Always in the hearts of Fa Mulan and Jason Valkara. Forever welcomed in the heavens.'

Logan carefully and gently placed the tombstone right before the open grave, and with tears, Jason gently used his conjuring ring to transform a branch into a tiny coffin, and the coffin passed along into the hands of everyone as they tore a piece of clothing each into the coffin to make a bed in the coffin.

The coffin finally headed back to Jason, and Jason raised his hand with Ping's tiny corpse, to kiss the forehead ever so softly, and Mulan took her turn, holding their tiny son, kissing his little belly ever so softly, and with a sob, she gently put him in the coffin, and they walked to the open grave.

Kneeling together and putting the coffin down in the grave together, with murmurs of "I love you, Ping.", and closed the lid, and took a handful of dirt each into the grave, walking back to let the others do the same, with the pile of dirt filling the grave.

As they stood around the grave in silence for a few minutes, a caw sounded out, and they blinked, looking to see a piped raven on a boulder around the pond, and Logan breathed, "Pops.".

The piped raven flapped his wings, and landed on the tombstone, cawing and whistling, and suddenly, the amulets glowed in unison, and then a blue-white wisp appeared above the grave, changing shape and size into a transparent blue-white boy of three years.

The group shouldn't have been too surprised, considering the power of the amulets and all in the past had restored life, or that a few had encountered those long gone from beyond. But to see the boy... it really struck right into the deep hearts of Mulan and Jason. "P-Ping...?", Jason finally spoke.

Ping smiled widely, gave a soundless yet echoing giggle, as he floated and flew-hovered to Jason and Mulan, and kissed Jason and Mulan on the cheek yet it felt not like kisses, but more like tickles of a breeze, and floated down to Mulan's belly, his little hands hovering over it as he kissed it.

He looked up to Mulan and Jason with a blinding smile, his voice open and speaking yet not really speaking at the same time, 'Mommy and Daddy not be sad, happy for sister, love for me?'.

"Of course...", Mulan whispered as tears filled her eyes. "Sorry...", she tried to wipe them away... "Mommy's trying not to be sad right now.".

Ping blinked and nodded, and smiled as he floated upwards, his hands tickling Mulan's cheeks as he spoke, 'I be Ping always. Ping loves you, Mommy.'.

Mulan sniffed, shakily replied, "Mommy loves you, Ping. I love your sister already, and I will take care of her for you, darling.".

Ping gave an echoing giggle and a wide smile, and floated over to Jason, 'Daddy, I be going with Grapa. Grapa promises he watch Ping along with Grandpa and Granny for Daddy. Ping loves you, Daddy.'

"Daddy loves you too, Ping.", Jason choked out as he was trying to hold back the storm of tears that was building. He wanted to keep himself from crying out of Ping's wishes, just like Mulan.

A caw pierces the air, and Ping looks back, and pouts, nodding, and hovers-flies, with a wave to Logan and Jasmine, 'Ping loves you, Unca Logan and Autie Jassie!'.

Logan smiles tearfully, "I love you too, Ping. Take care, kiddo.", and Jasmine smiles warmly, "Say hi to Papa Sultan and Mama Sultana, okay?". Ping nods and giggles again, and with a big smile to everyone else, he shrinks back into a wisp, taking a seat on the piped raven's back.

Jason nods, "Keep him out of trouble, okay, Pops?", with a half-choked smile, and the piped raven nods, thrills, and flaps, flying up high, hearing an echoing laugh of delight as they vanished into the clouds, to the skies beyond as the sun moved, giving sunlight once again.

"Well... if that's not at least a good omen that things will go our way in the coming battle...", Jason heard Logan say about the clearing sky. "Yeah... I hope you're right, brother.", Jason nodded as Logan put a hand on his back.

"You know you can always talk to me-", Logan started to speak, but Jason took up with a nod, "If I need to, I know.".

Mickey exhaled, "Well, we still got a lot of burials to go, but you're all excused not to attend if you don't want to. Mulan and Jason, I want you to go to your tent and be together for the time being and grieve, talk, anything. I know I heard Ping say that he didn't want you to cry here, but in privacy, he didn't say anything about it. And that's an order, not a request.", with a soft reprimanding look.

"As you wish, your majesty.", Mulan nodded as she tightened the grip she had on Jason's hand before the two of them started to walk away where they could grieve and discuss things in private.

They can see many people being careful and gentle with their comrades' bodies, and with each kingdom being different in burial practices with some similarities, while putting all the enemies' bodies into piles with tinder and wood, not wanting dark magic of any enemy's body to kill off the grass and such if they got buried.

They soon made it to their tent which was gratefully set up a while ago by somebody, and with the zipper closing the entrance, Mulan collapsed into their mattress, finally letting go of the tears at last, sobs and half-screams of grief filling the tent, yet the tent is soundproof so nobody outside can hear.

It was Mulan's turn to actually break down as Jason had broken down back in the healer's tent. "Just let it out, Mulan... I'm here.", Jason patted her on the back as he sat next to her on the mattress.

He knew he couldn't say much to try and get her to stop; hell, he was on the verge of doing it again himself thanks to her, but at least held it back as to stay calm for her in case she got worse.

Mulan punched the pillows, crying and sobbing, "He aged to three somehow, but I never got the chance to see him grow, to hug him, to hold him, to feed him with my milk, to sing a lullaby, to hear him tease his sister, laugh with you, play with Logan, listen to stories from Jasmine, to be surrounded by everyone in a birthday party!".

Jason's heart broke, feeling the same, upset to know that Ping is gone from the living world, yet he is admittedly jealous that his adoptive father, his biological parents is with him, but they're giving him the love he deserves which is not bad or jealous...He knows that Ping is not alone...

"I wish I was there at your side during the ambush, Mulan...I'm so damn sorry...I was up ahead with Zuri...", Jason spoke in anguish and grief as he put his hand in his face as he kept rubbing Mulan's back with his other hand.

"I know... we were so focused and didn't even realize... if I knew... I would've held back rather than take the lead... Phoebus easily could've done what I had done... probably wouldn't have been caught off guard either.", Mulan cursed as she was just so overwhelmed with guilt. "I'm not blaming you, Jason... in fact, you should be the one blaming me...".

Jason looked affronted and insulted when he heard the last comment, and dropped down to grab ahold of Mulan's hands, laying down to face her, "Don't, don't you ever dare think that! I love you, Mulan. We didn't know! It was our fault for not seeking Haku earlier in the last few days as there was a couple of health concerns with the altitude sickness with some people, and there should have been a health command check for all of us...".

Mulan sobbed, "But we should have...Khan and Buck were acting strange around me, but I thought it was their antics of love with each other, but I didn't realize that Khan was making sure to protect me..., I thought he was just being a war horse...".

"Look... I hate it just as much as you in the fact that we lost Ping... even before we could know him... but he said it himself, he wants us to care for our daughter... we still have her... and it wouldn't help to keep wallowing in grief. We'll always question what if, and hold the regret, but we can't let it consume us. I know from experience about that.", Jason sighed as his mind went back to the shot he didn't take.

Mulan looked at Jason, and glanced down at her belly, rubbing it, and closed her eyes in anguish before exhaling, and opening them again, "I can't believe what I am going to say, but I am going to retire prematurely...I am going to transfer the position to Phoebus...I failed myself as General...I need to protect her...I know Emma can't risk transporting dead bodies, but if she transports me back to Cair Paravel...At least you could know that I am safe then...".
