"Mulan...", Jason shook his head in disbelief. "You can't... not now, your men still need you for this last battle... after the war is over, I'll practically beg for you to give up your position, but not until the job is done. You do it now, and you might demoralize this army at the worst time and everything we've worked for might be lost!", he tried to argue.

Mulan looked at him sharply, "And if you lost me in this final battle?", and Jason froze, his breath still as tears fell again, remembering how Mulan looked back in the healer's tent with the slash wound and her cries of pain...True, she made it in time for the first magical healer to heal the wound, but what if there wasn't time for a healer to make it to her in the final battle especially since the fortress would be full of traps and who knows what else if he knows Frollo...?

His amulet buzzed, and Jason heard Soul talking to him via thought, and he blinked, exhaling as he looked at Mulan, "There's a way to keep you safe yet keep you around to be needed. If you marry me, I can transfer some of my dragon energy to you, and you can be a dragon shapeshifter like me...".

"Marry?", Mulan raised an eyebrow. "Was what we did before, our love making and all, was that not enough?", she asked him.

"Not fully, I don't really understand it much myself, like you said, but that's something the magic requires, I guess. But... if we could make you a dragon, you'll certainly be in a much safer position than today as well as being able to still stay with this army. Mulan... you're just as vital to your troops as Mickey is... to have you leave on the eve of battle...", Jason stopped as he was just repeating what he said before. It didn't need to be said again, she understood.

Mulan squeezed his hand and moved his other hand to join her other hand on her belly, "Anything to protect her...Not the greatest place or time to get married, but yes, I'd love to marry you, Jason...Mickey can officiate it this evening...Perhaps that's what the army needs, to see hope and love after such a day today...", smiling roughly before kissing him on the lips.

"Can't argue with that mindset for sure.", Jason gave a smile as he gently caressed her back as the two of them were wrapped in each other's arms while still kissing.

Mulan sighed and smiled softly, feeling better from Jason's affection and reassuring hugs, and rubbed her belly, "What was your mother's name?", and Jason blinks before replying, "Deborah. Why?".

Mulan smiles, "Is there similar names to Deborah?", and Jason looks thoughtful before responding, "Well, there was one she mentioned; Doveva, and it means graceful. My grandmother was undecided on those names before seeing my mom and named her Deborah.".

Mulan smiled widely as she rubs her belly, "Doveva, Dove for short...Doveva Zhang Fa-Valkara...".

"Our daughter's name?", Jason chuckled as she nodded. "Of course... Did you think I was naming a new horse we planned on getting?", Mulan teased as he shook his head.

"No, of course not... it's beautiful... she's going to be so beautiful, especially if she takes after her mother.", Jason said.

Mulan blushed, and breathed shakily, "Ping would have been a wonderful brother...", and Jason shushed her, kissing her cheek, "I miss him so much that it hurts, but he loves his sister already as we have seen his gestures and heard his request. We're going to be a family with him in our hearts, and Dove will know his story.".

"And Dove will hopefully live up to her nickname... being that she'll hopefully grow up in a time of peace.", Mulan added as Jason nodded.

"I didn't think of that, that's a good point.", Jason said before he leaned down to kiss Mulan's belly; hopefully that Dove, in some way, would feel her father's love along with her mother's continual love with every second she grew.

Mulan tenderly carded her hand through Jason's hair with a smile, knowing that Jason will be a great father...He was so gentle and careful with Ping's tiny mortal body...He will be protective of Dove, Mulan can see it...

Jason looked up at Mulan, "You feeling better now?", and Mulan caressed his cheek, "There will be always a part of me that will be sad, but yes, I'm okay. Let's go talk to Mickey...", with a reassuring smile.

"If you need a bit longer...", Jason said as she shook her head. "We've still got an army that's counting on us and so much more lives waiting for the end of this war... after it's over, we can have more time to give Ping our full respects.", Mulan told him.

Jason nodded, kissed her softly on the lips, and helped her up, "Let's go, then.", and Mulan smiled gratefully, squeezing his hand. They opened the entrance of their tent, and saw their horses grazing nearby, and they neighed, with Khan looking apologetic, and Buck looking concerned.

Mulan pat Khan on the muzzle gently, "It's okay, Khan...I'm okay...You did your best...It wasn't your fault...I and Jason didn't know, but you knew, didn't you? You and Buck.", and Khan nuzzled her, nickering, snuffling at her belly.

Mulan smiled softly, "Yes, I still have another baby in me...It was twins...You know the pond with the cherry blossoms?", and Khan burred with a soft nod, and Mulan sighed deeply, "That's where he's buried...His name was Ping, Ping Alfred Fa-Valkara. He wouldn't mind if you visit him...".

Khan gave her a hug with his neck and foreleg, burring, and Mulan gave a sob, feeling her oldest friend's support, "Thank you, Khan.", hugging Khan around his neck, and after a moment, let go, and saw Buck comforting Jason.

"Thanks, bud.", Jason patted Buck on the side of his head. "I know you tried... it just got way too chaotic so suddenly, they were already on top of us.". That was the sad truth of the ambush, unable to at least know that it was coming and quickly get into position to counter, hence why there were so many lives lost in the fight.

Buck burred, nuzzling Jason's hand, and snorted, stomping a hoof, looking determined, and Jason laughed softly, "Yes, we still have a few days ahead of us, and there might be more ambushes or quarrels before the final battle. We'll be ready for them, Buck. But for now, just cool off, visit our son, or graze, whatever, okay, bud?".

Buck nickered, nodding, and neighed to Khan who snorted and nodded, and the two horses headed off, and Mulan smiled softly, grabbing into his hand, "It's nice to have such loyal friends in those two...Don't worry, they know not to stray for they are smarter than some other horses.".

Jason nodded, "Yeah...Buck's making out to be a good war horse...He's stubborn, that one.", and Mulan giggled, "You taught him well, but I think Khan taught him better.".

"True.", Jason nodded before the two of them headed towards Mickey's grand tent. "You think he won't mind us just walking right in? I mean, isn't there usually like a quick procedure at a time like this?".

Mulan sighed, "I know my parents would do anything to attend, but our friends are the next best thing of being witnesses, and Mickey, as king, can be able to do any traditions as of needed including a wedding ceremony...through I think Emma once called those kinds of things as elopement...".

Jason nodded, "Elopement is a faster type of wedding ceremony, but it's more for people who run away secretly without parental consent...I suppose this is sorta of a secret ceremony, and we do have their blessing, but yeah, parents usually attend...I am sorry for that part, Mulan.".

Mulan kissed his cheek reassuringly, "It's okay, Jason. They will understand...especially after hearing our story once we win the war...", and Jason nodded.

"I certainly hope so... your father didn't seem to like me that much.", Jason admitted. "Normally he would've probably wanted you to ask for permission before courting, especially just to get to know you beforehand.", Mulan explained.

"Which he never really got a chance...", Jason started. "Exactly. He'll come around though, I promise.", Mulan squeezed his hand softly.

Jason smiled at Mulan with a chuckle, nodding, knowing that Mulan is confident in such things about her father, trusting her of it, and turned his attention as they finally arrived at Mickey's grand tent, and a guard bowed before them with a nod, and parted the curtains, "Pardon me, your majesty, but General Fa Mulan and Archer Jason Valkara is here.". Since there were no sniper guns, Jason turned to archery mostly other than swordsmanship and horse riding, and so, he earned the title.

Mickey's voice called out, "Send them in, please, Timothy.", and the guard, Timothy smiled, "Ma'am, and sir.", bowing, and the couple walked in, seeing Mickey at his desk, checking maps.

"You two alright?", Mickey asked as they both nodded. "Well, as alright as two parents losing a child so young can be...", Jason said.

"I suppose it's at least a somewhat good thing we didn't know until after it happened... I don't know what I would've done had I been carrying Ping for months only to lose him like that.", Mulan told the King.

Mickey nodded, "Aye...I wouldn't have wished that pain on you further along the way...I would have done something as well if I knew...Perhaps a protective shield on your body or something...".

Mulan smiled gratefully, "I know, Mickey.", before blinking thoughtfully, "That would work...", before shaking her head, "But that's not what we're here for.".

Mickey blinked in surprise, "Oh?", and Mulan exhaled, "I knew that you had officiated the marriage of Phoebus and Helga, along with some other marriages in between...I realize that it's not the best time, since we're bordering on the brink of the final battle of the war, but I wish for you to officiate our marriage, my king.".

"I'm sorry?", Mickey raised an eyebrow. "It's strange for me to say this, but it's related to dragon shapeshifting and my, along with the rest of the Talons, powers. Essentially, Mulan and I need to be married for her to become one too. Apparently, that's what it takes for it to work, apart from our love.", Jason explained.

Mickey looked surprised, and then thoughtful, "You can be high in the air, safe from everything while putting our enemies on fire and impaling poisonous spikes on them...And of course, dragon skin is far tougher than human skin...".

Mulan nodded, "Yes, sir...I thought I was to go retire prematurely, give the position to Phoebus as he's very much experienced with war, for he was a soldier before he became Captain...But Jason, ", smiling wryly, "he has convinced me that my battalion still need me, and I need to be around to keep their moral high...I cannot abandon my post like a coward..".

"I have to agree. While I'm more than accepting of your resignation once this is all over, I need you in this role just a bit longer, Mulan.", Mickey said. "It might sound a bit selfish, especially considering what had happened; but I don't think I can afford your loss here and now before the final battle.".

Mulan gave a small chuckle, "That's pretty much what Jason said too.".

Jason smiled, and Mickey nodded, "Indeed. I will be more than happy to officiate your marriage, Mulan and Jason. Your friends of the United Talons would be enough as witnesses, and forgive me if I am offending you, but I think Ping wouldn't mind if his resting place would be also a place of celebration as well. He would be there to listen and watch with much happiness, even if we couldn't feel it or see him.".

"I suppose that would be the best we can get at this moment, at least.", Jason said with a grateful smile. "We can always have a more proper ceremony once this war is over.", Mulan kissed his cheek.

"Usually, you have to wait quite a number of years to renew the vows... I've never really heard of doing it after a few weeks or months.", Jason chuckled with a shrug.

Mulan giggled softly, "There's always a first time for everything.", and Jason smirked, "True.", nodding in agreement.

Mickey smiled warmly at the couple before him, and nodded, "Indeed. I will call for a runner to inform the others to come to the tent. I know we don't have formal clothes at the moment, but we can spare some time to make sure that you feel comfortable and fancy as possible. After all, we aren't setting out to Sarip until tomorrow.".

Jason smiled, "Of course, that would be fine. Thank you, your majesty.", and Mickey waved a hand, "You two are some of my dear friends. And I would do with a bit of joy and goodwill after today...", with a bit of a heavy sigh.

Mulan and Jason nodded in understanding, and Mickey smiled, and called for Timothy, the guard to fetch a runner. Within minutes, the rest of the group came in, smiling happily and determinedly as the girls took Mulan away while the boys distracted Jason.

Under a half hour, with Jason now wearing nice boots, jacket, and bowtie over his casual-ish clothes, the boys and Mickey made their way to Ping's resting place where Khan and Buck were currently visiting, and with a bit of explanation to the equine duo, they're waiting for Mulan and the girls.

A few minutes later, the girls arrived, hiding Mulan from sight, and as they got closer, they revealed Mulan, and Jason's heart went faster as he exhaled in awe and love as Mulan is wearing a less formal version of her wedding dress from Mulan 2 of the palace scene, without the headdress or earrings, in colors of pink and blue in honor of Dove and Ping.

"Where the heck and how they fixed that one up?", Jason leaned over to Logan and asked. "Not sure... I'm pretty sure she didn't pack that in our march.", Logan told him. "Still, looks nice, doesn't she?", he smirked.

"Hey, bro, back off, you got Jasmine.", Jason teased back. Logan grinned, "Touche.", and Jason looked at Mulan with a big smile as Mulan smiled back with a glint of amusement in her eyes as she got closer to him.

They're positioned in the reverse forward so Ping's resting place is behind them, so Ping can have a whole seat as a witness without anybody blocking the view of his parents getting married, not that they know...but the thought counts either way.

Jason gently grabbed ahold of Mulan's hand as she reached out, and Jason smiled, whispering, "You're beautiful as a blossom, Fa Mulan.", and Mulan blushed a bit, "You're very handsome too, Jason Valkara.", whispering as well.

Jason smiled even more, squeezing her hand gently, and paid attention to Mickey who cleared his throat, "Today, before us, after suffering a terrible ordeal, this couple has decided to move on, and give their vows of love. General Fa Mulan and Archer Jason Valkara has seen many things; good and bad, and they have given each other their hearts, smitten ever since they first met.".

Mickey continued on, "Does the company of those two people agree to witness their vows of love?", and the group chorused, "Yes!".

Mickey smiled warmly, "I now ask the groom, Jason Valkara to say his vow of love.", with a nod to Jason, who looked at Mulan intimately as he took a deep breath.

"I never really thought I would ever find true love when I first came to this place... my mind was still trying to reel with the sudden change of everything I once knew totally different in this place. And though the countless fights and battles, the idea of finding love was so much at the back of my mind even when others in my team were finding it. And then by chance I met you... and almost instantly, everything clicked right to me. I've gone through great lengths for you, Mulan... and I'll keep going just for your love.", Jason said.

Mulan's eyes gave free to a couple of tears as she squeezed Jason's hands, hearing sniffles and snuffles from the group and the horses, and Jason broke a hand free to wipe the tears gently as Mickey gave a choked sob, feeling the passionate love in the air, and cleared his throat, "I now ask the bride, Fa Mulan to say her vow of love.".

Mulan smiled tearfully yet warmly, "For a long time, I thought I was alone. My mind was numb, trying to stay with the change of the war throughout the years, only sparing the time for my parents or my oldest friends. I was finding the thought of moving on as difficult, and then my spirit became whole when you complimented me, and seeing you trying to recover after that stumble, it made me laugh...I had never laughed genuinely in such a long time, yet you did it, and I felt almost like I was myself again. When you confessed to me on your feelings, it came together like a picture complete again, I realized that I found happiness again, and soon afterwards, true love with you, and I'll never forget to love you always, Jason.".
