Here's the next chapter

Ashely is led off the plane by a flight attendant as she's an unaccompanied minor. She hates it, but her mom had insisted. She would have been fine flying by herself.

"Ashely!" Santana shouts waving like a maniac along with Brittany.

"I take it they are here for you." the flight attendant says.

"Yes," Ashely says blushing.

"Little sis," Brittany says pulling her into a hug.

Ariel starts to make crying sounds from the stroller.

"She doesn't like that you're not paying attention to her." Santana says.

Ashely rolls her eyes; she doesn't like her niece that much. She doesn't get what the big deal is.

"We're so happy to have you here for the week." Brittany says picking Ariel up.

"Extremely," Santana says wrapping her arm around the younger girl. "You'll be hanging out with me and Ariel a lot.

"I can't wait," Ashely says looking forward to spending time with Santana.

"I have to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday." Brittany reminds her.

"Can I come with you one of the days?" Ashely asks.

"Of course, you can." Brittany says smiling.

"Great," Ashely says.

They head home, getting Ashely settled before putting Ariel to bed.

"We put you the farthest from Ariel's room so hopefully she doesn't wake you up." Brittany says coming out and sitting next to her sister.

"Does she cry a lot?" Ashely asks.

"No, she just wakes up in the middle of the night several times." Brittany tells her.

"Really? Why did you two want a baby if all they do is cause problems?" Ashely asks frowning.

"You were like that when you were a baby. Sure, we haven't slept much, but she's worth it." Brittany says shaking her head.

"I still don't get it." Ashely says which causes Brittany to laugh.

"You don't need to." Brittany says. "I'm going to grab some sleep with San while we can. You can watch TV out here as long as you want." she says giving Ashely a hug. "We're happy to have you here."

"I'm glad to be here." Ashely says.

Ashely watches TV for about an hour before heading to bed herself. She's barely asleep for ten minutes before Ariel's crying wakes her up. Rubbing her eyes, she shuffles out just as Santana is heading to Ariel's room. She follows.

"Is she okay?" Ashely asks causing Santana to jump.

"Oh god Ash, you scared me." Santana says clutching her chest. "She's just hungry," she says picking Ariel up.

"Okay," Ashley says shuffling back to bed.

She's woken up three more times by Ariel crying.

"Your daughter cries too much." Ashely says yawning as she comes out the next morning.

"Sorry, we had hoped your room was far enough away." Santana says, handing her a plate of pancakes.

"You can buy me ear plugs." Ashely says.

"I'm running late." Brittany says coming in with Ariel in her arms. "I'll see you three tonight." she says, handing Ariel to her wife, giving them both a kiss. "You can come with me tomorrow." she says to Ashely before running out.

"Well, it's just the three of us today. Is there anything you want to do?" Santana asks.

"Can we go shopping?" Ashely asks.

"Sure," Santana says sitting down to feel Ariel.

"I still don't get why you wanted a baby. They seem like a lot of trouble." Ashely says looking away as Santana feeds Ariel.

"One day you will though hopefully it won't be for a long time." Santana says.

Santana can hardly believe that little Ashely is already thirteen. In her mind she'll always be that annoying seven-year-old who used to try and follow her and Brittany everywhere. Even though she's not her actual sister, she's always felt like her sister.

"I don't ever want kids." Ashely says.

"I was just like you at your age." Santana says smiling.

"Was Britt?" Ashely asks.

"No, she always wanted kids. She had already come up with names and everything." Santana says chuckling at the thought.

"Of course, she did." Ashely says shaking her head.

Ariel has finished eating and Santana burps her as she tries to straighten her top.

"Okay, let's get ready to head out." Santana says.

"Yes," Ashely says fist pumping.

Santana gets Ariel in her coat and puts her in the stroller before putting on her own coat and shoes. Ashely comes running over ready with her own coat and shoes on.

"I'm ready," Ashely says.

"Watch Ariel while I grab my purse." Santana says heading back into the kitchen.

Ashely looks at Ariel and frowns. She sticks her tongue out at the baby who has taken her place as the youngest in the family.

"You're so lucky," Ashely whispers to herself.

"Okay Ashley, let's go shopping." Santana says.

At NYU, Brittany is teaching her most advanced math class that is made up of mostly doctorial students.

"Is there any solutions to this problem?" Brittany asks pointing to a complex problem on the board.

A guy is the front row raises his hand before he answers. "Isn't that one of the unsolved problems?" he asks.

"You tell me." Brittany says.

Another student raises their hand and answers.

"No, it's the one you solved when you were only nineteen." she says.

"Yes, it is," Brittany says. "Who wants to try and solve it?"

Everyone raises their hands, eager to show off their skills. They're all in awe of their teacher and want to be like her, a math genius.

"Okay…." Brittany says looking around at the fifteen students before deciding. "Taylor"

Taylor heads up to the board, nervous to get this wrong. She wants to be right just to show off. She starts solving the problem and quickly gets through the first couple steps easily but then starts to have issues.

"Do you need help?" Brittany asks when Taylor stops.

"I can do it." Taylor says.

This doesn't surprise Brittany at all as all her students are like this.

"April, please come up and help." Brittany says.

April heads up and starts helping Taylor with solving the problem. By the end of class, the whole class is involved with trying to solve the problem. They've only gone through half the problem when class ends.

"Next class I want you all to continue." Brittany tells them before letting them go.

Taylor stays behind to talk to Brittany.

"I could have solved it." Taylor says.

"You were stalling after the first three steps. Getting help with a problem, especially such a complicated one isn't something to be ashamed of." Brittany tells her.

"You don't need help." Taylor points out.

"I always have help when solving a complicated problem." Brittany tells her. "I have help when I solved it."

"You did?" Taylor asks.

"Yes," Brittany says. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Meanwhile Santana, Ashely and Ariel are walking down fifth avenue doing some window shopping.

"That dress would look great on you." Ashely says pointing at a red one in the window.

"It would, wouldn't it." Santana says smiling.

They continue to walk by the stores making comments on many things they see in the windows. Ariel is sound asleep in the stroller for most of the time until the last ten minutes when she wakes up.

"Can we go get some souvenirs for my friends?" Ashely asks.

"Of course," Santana says hailing a cab.

That's when Ariel wakes up and starts to make crying noise.

"It's okay honey," Santana says picking her up and moving to keep her from crying.

"She's going to start crying again." Ashley says frowning.

When Ashley speaks Ariel looks at her and reaches over.

"She wants you." Santana says pushing Ariel into her sister-in-law's arms.

"Why does she want me?" Ashely says holding her like a dirty diaper.

"She's obsessed with your sister and will often only settle down for her. Since you look and sound like her, she wants you." Santana tells her.

"Really?" Ashely groans.

"Yes, unless you want her to start crying." Santana says as a cab pulls up.

She folds the stroller up and puts it along the ground before getting in. Ashely follows trying to give Ariel to Santana only to have her start crying so she keeps ahold of her.

"See," Santana says.

Ashely rolls her eyes but keeps Ariel in her lap who is happily gripping her hand.

They go to a classic souvenirs store where Ashely picks out some statue of liberty souvenirs for her friends along with two, I Love New York sweatshirts for her parents.

"Your parents are going to love those." Santana says.

"I know, they bought a bunch when you two first moved out, but dad's is all dirty now." Ashely says smiling.

"I remember that." Santana says.

She gets a text from Brittany right then.

From Britt Britt: Just finished up. Want to meet and grab dinner?

"Britt's done now, do you want to meet up with her and get something to eat?" Santana asks Ashely.

"Yes, then she can take Ariel." Ashely says who is holding the baby who had been fussy.

To Britt Britt: Okay, where are you?

From Britt Britt: At school still, where do you want to meet?

To Britt Britt: How about Red Robin on 32nd?

From Britt Britt: See you soon.

"We're going to meet your sister at Red Robin." Santana tells Ashely.

"Okay," Ashely agrees, she likes Red Robin.

They catch a cab and get there very quickly in fifteen minutes, easily beating Brittany who arrives a few minutes after.

"Hey," Brittany says coming up behind them.

"Thank god," Ashely says giving Ariel over to her sister.

"She wouldn't settle down unless you held her." Brittany says chuckling as she cuddles her daughter to her.

"It was fucking annoying." Ashely grumbles.

"Language," Santana says.

Ashely gives her a look of really.

"Babe, that's the pot calling the kettle black." Brittany says pulling her into a kiss.

Santana gives her a look of really. Brittany just laughs as they head in.

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

One day later, Brittany is working late since she'll have the next two days off for Thanksgiving.

"Ashely!" Santana shouts.

"Yeah!" Ashely shouts back.

"Can you watch Ariel while I make dinner?" Santana says.

"Do I have to?" Ashely whines coming in.

"Please," Santana says and there's no way she could say no.

Ashely takes Ariel and goes into the living room.

"You're just a crying, pooping machine." Ashely says, setting her in the pen.

Ariel makes a gurgling noise and tries her best to reach for Ashely.

"I guess, you're not that bad." Ashely says sitting next to the pend and sticking her fingers through.

Ariel grabs them and sticks them in her mouth.

"I'm going to be your cool aunt when you get older. I'll let you do things your moms won't." Ashely tells her.

Through all the time she's spent with Ariel thus far she's coe to find out that while she doesn't want a baby, Ariel's really not that bad.

"You don't seem to hate her anymore." Santana says from the doorway.

"Yeah, I thought you didn't want anything to do with her." Brittany says from the front door.

"Your daughter's not as bad as I thought." Ashely says shrugging.

"Of course, she's not." Brittany says pushing her sister.

"Dinner's ready," Santana says shaking her head at the sisters.

Brittany grabs Ariel before heading into the dining room, putting her in her high chair, Ashely follows her and Santana brings in the spaghetti and salad she made.

"This looks delicious honey." Brittany says.

"I didn't want to tell your mom that we didn't cook for your sister but ate out every night." Santana says.

"I wouldn't mind." Ashely says between bites.

"Mom would," Brittany says.

They talk about their day as they eat. Ashely really enjoys doing this with them, getting to know them better. When she was younger, they didn't want her around as much and wouldn't include her.

"So, I'm off for the rest of the week. Is there anything you want to do?" Brittany asks Ashely.

"Do some sightseeing?" Ashely hopefully asks.

"Of course," Brittany says.

"Not tomorrow, it's Thanksgiving and I expect both of you to help me cook." Santana says.

"Awe," both sisters say.

"Yes, our moms sent instructions and will be Skyping with us during dinner." Santana informs them.

"Then we'll go on Black Friday." Brittany tells her sister. "San can stay here with Ariel if you'd prefer." she offers.

"They can come. I guess I'm going to have to get used to her. She is family." Ashely says tickling Ariel.

"I know you'd get along eventually." Brittany happily says.

"Yeah, yeah," Ashely says waving off her sister.

"Since Ariel is obsessed with both of you, you get to give her a bath while I clean up." Santana tells them getting up.

"San," Brittany whines.

Ariel is just like Santana and has an aversion to water.

"Go put her obsession with you to go use." Santana says.

"What's the big deal?" Ashely asks as they head for the bathroom.

"You'll see," Brittany says.

Ten minutes later Ashely comes out completely soaked.

"What happened?" Santana asks shocked she's that wet since they don't use that much water.

"Your daughter is the devil!" Ashely says stalking away.

Brittany comes out a few minutes later with a clean Ariel who is fussy trying to get to Santana.

"What happened?" Santana asks her wife. "How did Ashely get so wet?"

"Ariel was squirming around trying not to get wet and managed to knock Ashely into the tub. It was so funny." Brittany says.

"Damn I wish I could have seen it." Santana says.

"I know, I wish I had filmed it." Brittany says laughing at the thought.

When Ashely comes back, she sits far away from Ariel, glaring at her sister. All Santana and Brittany can do is giggle.

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

"I'll help you." Brittany offers the next day to her wife with cooking.

"Of course, you and Ashely are both helping." Santana says.

Ashely hasn't woken up and they both decided to let her sleep in.

"Put Ariel in her highchair. You can help me with the prep. It will take a few hours to get everything done and I want to eat early." Santana says.

"Okay, just tell me what to do." Brittany says.

Santana puts Brittany to work peeling potatoes as she preps the turkey and ham.

"This is a lot of food." Ashely says yawning as she comes into the kitchen.

"Well, I don't plan on cooking for the next two days." Santana says. "And now that you are up you can help too."

"I don't want to." Ashely whines.

"Do you want to eat?" Santana asks.

"Fine," Ashely groans.

She starts helping her sister with peeling.

Santana does most of the actual cooking as Brittany and Ashely just do whatever Santana tells them.

"Mix the stuffing mix together." she orders Ashely.

"Yes ma'am," Ashely says saluting before following her orders.

At one o'clock, everything is ready and on the table. Ariel is sound asleep in her play pen close to the table.

"Okay, everything is ready." Santana says watching proudly as Ashely and Brittany sit down.

Brittany sets up her iPad and calls her mom.

"Do we have to Skype them?" Ashely asks as she doesn't want her parents to be embarrassing.

"We promised both our moms we would." Brittany says.

'Honey?' Whitney says her head covering the whole screen.

'Back up mom all we can see is your hair.' Brittany says.

Ashely looks down so embarrassed by her mom even though it's only her sister and Santana.

'How are you girls?' Gloria asks as Whitney sits down.

'Great,' Brittany says.

'San made us help her cook.' Ashely complains.

'Good for you,' Whitney says.

'Can we eat now? I'm hungry.' Pierce says pouting.

'Yes, I'm hungry too.' Mario says.

'Okay everyone, dig in.' Gloria says.

They all start shoveling food on their plates before digging in. It's the quietest the family has ever been as they are all enjoying the food. The only noises that are heard is silverware clinking on plates.

'How are you enjoying yourself, Ashely?' Whitney asks once they've all finished their first round.

'Ariel cries a lot, but other than that it's been great.' Ashely says. 'We're going to go sightseeing tomorrow.'

'Go to the Statue of Liberty.' Pierce says.

'The Empire State Building.' Mario adds.

'Go where you want to go.' Gloria says.

They eat some more before disconnecting as most of them are falling asleep.

'Bye mom,'

'Bye girls,' both Whitney and Gloria says.

"I'm exhausted." Santana says yawning.

Of course, before any of them can lay down Ariel starts crying.

"I'll get her." Brittany says.
