Heights Alliance was the name of the dorms within UA's campus. The dormitories are large buildings with five floors separated into two wings. Each building has its respective class name posted above a sign that reads "Alliance". Each building is circled by low hedge bushes that leave a path open to the entrance. The entrance consists of two sets of double doors. Alongside the pathway are two park benches and two towers with lights on them. The first level of the building is white while the upper levels are coloured brown on the outside.
Every student of Class 1-A gathered before the stairs up to the entrance where Aizawa waited. "On time, better," He noted, tucking his hands into his pockets. "Now, I'll give you a brief rundown of both your dorm and the rules, to pay attention," His serious tone made them all silent before he turned to open the doors. "Look alive, time to see your new home."
"It's really hard when he sounds so serious all the time," All of them sighed at the collective thought.
Izuku felt butterflies in his stomach, standing with Ciana who mirrored his expression. Surrounding them were not only their new classmates, but roommates for the next three years. It was really jarring so having a good impression mattered now more than ever.
Inside was a large open space with sofas, tables and chairs next to a kitchen counter and large kitchen to boot, the place looked brand new and even had tall windows that looked into a garden.
"Each student dormitory holds one class, boys are on the right, girls on the left, the entire first floor is the common area, that's where you'll find your kitchen, baths, and laundry rooms," Aizawa explained as they explored the new building together.
Ciana was pretty wowed by the new place they were staying, it looked so homey and nice. This place actually made her feel like she's already applying to college life. "Whoa we're really staying here? This whole place is even nicer than I imagined!" Ciana commented next to Izuku, looking pretty excited and wowed by their new home.
It's going to be a bit strange for her that she will be staying with some boys too but at least they have their own side of the dorms and not too close to the girls. The last thing she wanted is to run into any possible perverts. "It's going to be so strange for me to live here, but I already feel a lot safer now, especially that I'll be staying close to you!" Ciana happily expressed with a bright smile to him.
Izuku eagerly nodded, it was a strange new setting, but some of their classmates didn't seem all that bad to approach, Kirishima and Uraraka were good examples. "Yeah, I am too," He saw her smile widen a bit more, and he felt warm all over just from being close to her. Yeah, this was definitely an improvement.
"There's even a courtyard!" The guy with the strange elbows, Sero marveled at the space.
"It's so spacious too!" The pink girl, Ashido, spun around happily.
"I'm living in a mansion!" Uraraka looked utterly star-struck as she collapsed to the floor between Izuku and Iida.
"Uraraka!?" Iida gawked.
"Are you okay?" Izuku blinked down at her as she shakily raised her thumb, eyes spinning.
"So much space... unbelievable," She giggled slightly.
However, one had to ruin the mood. "Do my ears deceive me?" It was the short-stack that was practically at the bottom of the charts, Mineta. He looked to be drooling slightly. "Our baths and laundry rooms are located in the common space," He gulped, sweating up a storm. "This is heaven."
But Aizawa wasn't having it, while no one else saw it, Ciana could visibly see a dark red aura tremor over the teacher. "They're separate by gender - So I do hope you'll behave yourself," He warned gravely.
"Yes sir..." Mineta gulped, that vigour gone out like a light.
Cianas hunch was right that there was going to be a pervert here… already Ciana was creeped out by the short odd haired boy and might have hid behind Izuku as usual. "Maybe it's not going to be as safe here as I thought…" Ciana sheepishly comments with a nervous smile.
Viewing the other kids around her more they sure were funny but an interesting bunch, glancing at Bakugo, Ciana was a little worried what he would do living closer to Izuku now. "I wonder if I should talk to him later after that commotion before?" Ciana wondered to herself as her eyes narrowed his way, making sure to quickly look away when he started to notice her glance.
"It sure is going to feel so strange living with so many super powered students… I can't help but wonder if I'm really worthy to be here." She says as she scratches her cheek in a shy manner.
"Hey, it'll be okay," Suddenly, Ciana felt Izuku's hand squeeze hers, letting her know she was indeed safe. "One bad egg, guess you can't avoid them everywhere."
The group then followed Aizawa up to the next floor.
"Your living quarters start on the next floor, four boys and four girls on each level, with the exception of an added room on the first due to the odd number," Aizawa continued their tour to the first floor to give them an idea of the layout. "Everyone gets their own room, you should be comfortable; you've got your own bathroom, AC, closets, fridge, the works,"
"We have balconies too, woah!" Izuku was amazed by the luxuries all just for being enrolled at UA, it certainly held up to its reputation. The space was nearly half as big as CIana's old apartment.
"This space is about the same size as my closet at home but I'll manage," The tall girl who performed well, Yaoyorozu, casually stated, shocking a group of them.
"It's the size of my house!" Uraraka once again, lost her ability to stand from the overwhelming space.
"Seriously, she's got a room that makes this place look small?" Jiro muttered next to Ciana. "Talk about high maintenance."
"No kidding, but not like we all can live in places as nice as this." Ciana ended up commenting, giggling at Urarakas giddy behavior. "I don't even live in big luxury places like this so I can understand her reaction."
Ciana's smile rose more just getting to know the students a bit better, so far some seemed really nice. Already it felt like it was going to be fun staying here. "I wish my dad could see me right now… I can't imagine how my mom would react to seeing me in a hero school." Ciana says to herself while viewing her surroundings more with a smile.
What Ciana didn't realize was that the girl she replied to had picked up on her words very easily, "Hm? They live far out or something?" Jiro asked, twirling one of her jacks around her finger, "Not that it's any of my business, but you're not from Japan, are you?" Jiro inquired further, the constant, aloof gaze she had staring back at Ciana.
Ciana was surprised by the girl's comment, her smile became a little sad but not like this was much of a secret of hers to keep. "You're right I'm not, I'm actually from America." Ciana admits as she had her focus on the punk girl, though she was even surprised by how long her earlobes looked. "It's pretty much a long distance thing."
Jiro nodded, "Hey, fair enough, cool to know someone from overseas - Kyoka Jiro, by the way," She gave a small smile, holding up her fist.
"Ciana Finley, nice to meet you," She bumped Jiro's knuckle back with a bigger smile. Relieved the girl wasn't going to push further on the subject but that she was nice too.
Just outside on the wall nearest the stairs, which seemed to be present on the ground floor too were maps of each floor and names of who belonged to which. "These are your dorm assignments, the belongings you sent have already been placed in your rooms so spend the day unpacking and getting settled. Now, get to work,"
"Yes, Mr Aizawa!" The class resounded and quickly began to shuffle around and chat amongst themselves while some headed off to their new rooms.
Ciana didn't really have much to unpack since she arrived in Japan unexpectedly… from another world, that is. Entering her dorm room, Ciana took a little time to look around. "Wow I wish my room would have been as big as this back home." Ciana comments to herself.
Going through some of the boxes, Ciana took out some things to make her room look less empty, Ciana had her bed made up, her desk, even her school supplies and clothes. "Well it's not as interesting as my apartment room… looks pretty plain looking but maybe I can try doing some shopping soon." She comments to herself.
approaching the balcony, Ciana opens the door to take a gaze outside. Even the outside looked really nice as she took a moment to view the outside, her arms leaned on the railing as she even took the time to think a bit more. "At least I shouldn't feel so scared of being alone anymore… I hope."
Someone then knocked on the side of Ciana's door frame, alerting her to spin around only to find Ashido waving her hand happily next to Kirishima. "Heya, you're Finley, Kirishima told me a bunch about you!" The girl beamed. "Say, we're all gathering soon in the common area to just do small talk to know everyone if you're in?"
Ciana remembered the girl in their group, it sure was a shocker for her seeing how she looked as she looked like a pink alien from another planet. She didn't expect they would want to get to know her so suddenly as she actually blushed a bit embarrassingly. "Oh, uh, s-sure! T-that sounds like a lot of fun." She agrees with a shy smile and her hand on her neck.
Noticing Kirishima next to her, Ciana gave him a smile and a wave.
"Cool, we tried asking Bakugo but, well... I think today kinda showed how he feels about people in general," He chuckled slightly but looked no less deterred. "But no rush, a few still have unpacking to do but feel free to head down now, few of us are thinking of pitching in to order food since we survived the first crazy test today,"
"'Survive' is definitely the word, seriously, Mr Aizawa gave me a heart attack..." Ashido paled, slapping her cheeks. "Hmph, well, here's to surviving the first day!"
She chuckled at the girl's cheerful bubbly side, already feeling pretty relaxed and welcomed. "Sounds really good, thanks for including me. I'll be there as soon as I can." Ciana smiled more and waved goodbye to them for now, closing her door Ciana took a moment to unpack a few things which were her notebook and her picture of her family…
Quickly glancing at her parents picture she gave a sad smile to it, happy to have still had something from them from home besides her backpack. Placing her photo in her pocket, Ciana heads out now, not only looking forward to seeing Izuku again soon but some new friends they'll be making, though she's going to stay clear of the short pervy kid…
After about ten minutes, almost all of 1-A had made their appearance in the common area, sitting down on every chair available to them, some just sat on the carpet with their backs to the sofa space between people. Ashido then clapped her hands sharply. "Alright, you guys are awesome, say for a few shall not be named," She coughed, causing a few to laugh. Then she brightened up. "Right, so let's get the awkward stuff cleared first - gotta great way about this too, done it a bunch of times,"
"We'll just go from person to person, introduce ourselves, say what our quirk is, maybe a bit about ourselves, the normal teenage stuff," She suggested, hands on her hips. "I'll give the rundown first since it's my idea and all - Name's Mina Ashido, and my quirk's Acid, so I can produce the stuff at any acidity I wish but it doesn't affect me, and I'm pretty into breakdancing," With a quick twirl she pointed to her left at tallest boy in the class with the multiple arms. "Take it away!"
"Alright then, I'm Mezo Shoji, my quirk is Dupli-Arms, so I can create various extra limbs from my arms like eyes, ears, mouths, you name it," He said this through one such mouth on the end of an arm. "I also happen to be a minimalist, so don't expect much from my room," He added.
Next was the frog girl, "Ribbit, Tsuyu Asui but just call me Tsu, if it wasn't obvious I can do anything a frog can do which is pretty useful and I happen to like jelly," She kept it short and simple.
Next was the one Izuku and Ciana were familiar with, the spirited redhead. "Name's Eijiro Kirishima, my quirk allows me to harden any part of my body like stone, pretty manly, right! And working out probably what I do the most in my free time! Nice to meet you guys!" He punched his fists together, both hardening on contact.
Eventually, the list of people continued. Going from Iida, to Hagakure, Jiro, Kota who didn't really say much for being too shy, Yaoyorozu, Kaminari, and Tokoyami, now, it was Ciana's turn as she sat up straighter next to Izuku.
Ciana was quite nervous going next as she looked a bit shy, everyone's powers were interesting and unlike anything she's ever heard of, the frog girl and the guy stretching his body parts secretly freaked her out… but like she keeps telling herself it's not right for her to judge.
Clearing her throat, Ciana smiled shyly with her arms nervously going behind her back. "H-hey everyone, well for starters I'm Ciana Finley. My pow- I-I mean quirk! Is called aura. I can boost my strength and speed while giving off a glow, and can even boost peoples' stamina back up when needed." Ciana tells everyone so far with her eyes drifting off nervously.
"Um… I don't really have much to say about myself, I… I have a bit of a passion for adventure if that counts, and I guess… I like to sing sometimes…" Ciana admits her secret hobby with a blush on her cheeks, something she usually does in secret and hasn't even told Izuku about that yet as it made her shy to mention or people hear her do but she wasn't bad at it.
"So you're like a support class? Cool," Sero nodded. "Guess we know who to stick by if Mr Aizawa's lessons try to kill us in the future," The small joke made a few chuckle.
"Oooh, that's why I felt so peppy in my exam!" Kaminari perked up, leaning forward with a grin as he put his hands together to praise her. "Thanks a bunch, you saved my ass back then!"
"Singing huh, any particular genre or bands?" Jiro asked softly, glancing over to Ciana curiously, still playing with her jack nonchalantly.
Izuku, however, stared at the blushing ravenette next to him, "I wonder how she sounds when she sings...?" Now he wanted to know, maybe... she'd let him hear her sometime? I-In a best friend sorta way, of course!
"I-it's no problem, really." Ciana comments to Kaminari with a shy blush and smile, definitely still not used to being praised. Her attention now on Jiro, Cianas hand went to her neck as she rubbed it bashfully while still keeping her smile.
"W-well I don't really have a genre, I guess any kind of music as long as it's good. I just picked up that kind of hobby from my mom… she used to come up with some amazing songs that always helped boost my spirits whenever I was down or afraid." Ciana ends up sharing, Ciana never really sang in public before, she didn't even think she could do it without getting bad stage fright.
"Hm, one of those people then," Jiro quipped with a joking smirk, pointing a jack at Ciana. "Well, ever need some sick beats or something rockin' let me know,"
"Sure, I will," She replied happily.
Up next, with only a few left, was Izuku who looked a little nervous. "W-well, uh, my name i-is Izuku Midoriya, and well... m-my quirk, I haven't really got a n-name for it since it's only properly manifested recently," He admitted, seeing their ranging expressions of bewilderment or shock. "T-turns out my body couldn't handle my power, a-and that's why I broke my bones before, o-only now can I even use it, though I wouldn't s-say 'pulverizing my bones' is a g-good thing," He sighed, scratching his cheek. "As for hobbies, I-I do a lot of analysis on h-heroes over the years, learning about quirks r-really fascinates me."
"You seriously only just learned how to use your power, if at all?" Kirishima blinked, smiling proudly. "That's the manliest thing I've ever heard! And you still went out there and gave it your all!"
"I see, so that explains your state after both the exam and today," Iida acknowledged. "Is that why Mr Aizawa spoke with you prior to your throw?"
"Ye-yes, I have a lot to learn to try and control it," He clenched his fist against his lap, eyes fixed with determination. "I'll find the quickest possible way to harness my quirk so that I can avoid breaking my body in the future,"
"An admirable goal," Shoji nodded.
"Seriously, you're amazing, Midoriya!" Uraraka threw a few punches with a big grin.
"I-it's really nothing, honest," He stammered a small blush but was otherwise grateful they didn't see him as weak or useless. It was... nice to be accepted by more people.
"Say, now that you mention it, what's the deal with you and Bakugo earlier?" Ashido tapped her chin. "You guys seem to have some beef, even Finley?"
"Ah, well... K-Kacchan's... complicated, let's just say," Izuku kept it brief, it wasn't something he could easily break down in just a few words.
"Bakugo and Izuku kinda have some history together… I think he just acts like that around us because he wants to be seen as tough and better than anyone, but despite his destructive behavior he's not entirely heartless." Ciana surprisingly says as she was sitting back down next to her friend.
"Let's just say he's really serious about his goals and doesn't want anyone to get in the way of it, he has his own ways to show that." She ends up sharing a bit more, her hand hanging on her cheek as she actually wonders more about Bakugos attitude at times.
Izuku actually found that surprising, "Yeah... that about sums it up slightly,"
"Oh-oh-oh, I have a question!" The invisible hand waved, but the pink hoodie that wiggled with it belonged to Hagakure, then she waved her arm between Ciana and Izuku. "Are you two dating!?"
"Eh?" Both didn't quite register the question before Yaoyorozu coughed into her hand.
"Hagakure, that sort of question isn't meant to be just publicly asked," She berated.
"She said it, I didn't," Ashido held her hands up in mock defence, herself curious of the pair since they met, especially when she saw Izuku hold Ciana's hand earlier to comfort her. "Come on, just a quick yes or no answer, I swear!"
"Really dunno if this is a good idea," Kirishima suggested. "Sorry, you guys, you don't need to answer that, right?"
A number of them nodded as the pair in question blushed furiously at Hagakure's and Ashido's questions. "W-w-we're not," Izuku stuttered, running a hand down his face. "Why does this have to happen now? I-I mean, I wouldn't mind - yah, w-why did I think that!?"
Ciana was definitely a big blushing mess, she should've guessed that they would think that if they caught them holding hands at times… Ciana wasn't sure what to say as her gaze was on her lap and shuffling her hands in a very very shy manner while still looking red.
"Hehe… oh that? L-like I said I can boost people's stamina with my quirk, so I was just helping Izuku feel energized when he needed it…" She says as her gaze still looks away. "W-we're really close but I doubt anyone would want to date someone as average as me." Ciana brought her gaze back up with another sheepish smile, now freeing her hand to rub the back of her neck.
Ciana didn't think Izuku would hold any feelings for her, especially if it's possible he ends up liking Uraraka… the idea still bothered her but it wasn't her place to intervene… Ciana didn't believe she was worthy of anyone's heart if they knew she's really just a normal girl.
"Ahah, sorry-sorry, didn't mean for that!" Hagakure waved quickly. Though she and the other girls made a mental note of what she said afterward to ask later about.
"So then, who's next?" Ashido got the ball rolling again to level out the awkward air, this time, it was Sero who was next in line.
Izuku stared at Ciana for a bit longer than normal before turning to hear more about Sero and his quirk but again, he felt his chest twist at what Ciana said. She really looked at herself that way? He couldn't understand that, she wasn't some perfect incarnation of what a partner would be to some, but to Izuku, she had a lot of great things about her. Not to mention she was pretty - not drop-dead gorgeous but she had this nice, approachable face, and if he was a little bias, when her eyes glowed with those stars in her eyes after their experimental kiss, he couldn't get the image out of his head.
Before long, the whole class, bar two, had given their introductions, and the class dissolved into banter until food arrived.
Ciana didn't pay too much attention to Izuku looking her way, feeling pretty flustered just being asked if they were dating… she can't imagine how uncomfortable he might have looked from the whole idea… Once the group dissolved, Ciana went to sit on one of the couches to write in her notebook she happened to have had.
Ciana wrote her thoughts and experiences in her notes kinda like what Izuku does with his quirk studies but for her is her own thoughts, her writing is in English so she didn't think anyone would understand it if they tried to read it… while Ciana was writing, Ciana took notice Bakugo came down finally but was making his way outside. "Where is he going?" Ciana thinks out loud, thinking this might be a good opportunity to talk, Ciana quickly gets up to try and follow him to see what the guys up to…
Katsuki had a lot to think about, primarily how the quirkless nerd he's known since childhood magically has a quirk now, and a really powerful one at that. The words Izuku yelled at him after the results of their exams burned into his head. He was shaking in his shoes, Ciana wasn't around to defend him, and yet he said Katsuki couldn't stop him. And now, they live under the same roof?
He stepped outside into the garden flanked by the walls of the dorm, viewing the hedge wall on the other side as he grumbled, looking at the afternoon sky bitterly. "That damn bug, how'd he get a quirk outta nowhere? Blank probably knows, but even she looked surprised when he broke his fingers," Perhaps even she was in the dark? That was rare seeing as they were glued to each other since day one he saw them. "What the hell is going on...?"
Katsuki never heard the glass door slide shut behind him as he continued to stand in thought.
Quietly opening the door and shutting it closed, Ciana looked over to see Katsuki seemed to be in thought, she guessed it might be about Izuku and his sudden superpower he had. Ciana approached him from behind as she stopped at a few feet.
Her expression looked concerned for the guy as her arms went behind her back and eyed Bakugos backside. "Um, hey Bakugo…" she suddenly quietly greets him.
His scowl met her green eyes as she flinched slightly, hands behind her back like always. "What the hell do you want?" He turned his head away again. "Get lost, Blank,"
Ciana rolled her eyes at his usual blunt nature but he didn't scare her away. "I came to talk obviously, look… I can tell what you witnessed today clearly bothered you and thought you probably want a bit of an explanation."
Ciana says so far with her expression looking a bit more serious.
Now she had his attention, though he still faced the garden before him. "Hmph, judging by your own expression, you had no idea too - what? Thought you and the nerd shared everything together?"
"No, I could tell Izuku had things he wanted to keep to himself, not like it was my place to pry." She sighed, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. "I just found out he had a quirk after the whole battle test, I was surprised too but is it really something that's worth blowing up about?" She asked as she continued to eye the tough guy.
The blonde turned to her, anger building in his eyes. "You don't know a damn thing about Deku, he is quirkless, a runt, someone who was nothing more than a fanboy," He stepped closer, his fists balled up to contain what his scornful voice couldn't. "Then all of a sudden he has a quirk? That bastard... had he hid it from me this whole time? Treating me like some joke?" He asked himself more than Ciana, snorting sharply. "Whatever, I'll show him where he belongs, maybe not today, but I will, I'll ruin that damn nerd!"
Cianas eyes narrowed in a more serious manner as she now began to glare at him again. "So what if he has a quirk now? You really think you're any better just because you have what everyone else has? Honestly Bakugo, it's not fair of you to look down on people especially the ones that used to be your friends just because they didn't have a superpower at the time." Ciana stands her ground with her arms crossed.
"It's true there's things I don't know about him and there are things I don't know much about you, but you need to be careful how you act around him here or else you might end up getting yourself expelled." Cianas expression now softened up a little. "You worked hard your own way to get here too didn't you? Don't let this get the better of you like that."
"Like I need some extra to tell me what to do! I'm the best damn student out of this whole class," He growled, eyes narrowed back. "And a quirk doesn't just appear out of thin air, that nerd can't lie for shit, I don't know what he's hiding, but I'll force him to take me seriously, because when I get that chance, I'm going to destroy him," He shoved past her, he needed something to eat and standing arguing with some extra wasn't going to help him. "And if you stand in my way too, I'll do the same to you, that shitty quirk of yours won't stop me."
Ciana groaned at his attitude as she continued to glare at him from behind, clenching her fists as she continued to yell. "Bakugo, it doesn't matter if you're the most strongest student in this school! You came here to become a hero didn't you? I did not keep confronting you to prove I'm better, I don't care what you think of me but like it or not, I actually care about you too!"
Ciana yelled as she stayed where she was. "I just don't want you to blow your chances away because of something as silly and ridiculous as you feeling threatened by Izuku. You can push me away all you want, but that's not going to stop me from wanting to help you. Like I said before, I know you're not heartless and I always saw that since the day we met." Cianas eyes continued to look serious as she eyed his backside.
"I came here to win, a hero wins no matter what, so quit preaching to me already," He snapped at the doorway, his fingers taut against the frame. "I didn't ask for you to care about me, I never did-" He turned to point back at her. "-you and Deku have one thing in common, you both can't stop talking in a way that pisses me off,"
And he slammed the door behind him, shoving his hands into his pockets. His eye twitched, her words echoing on and on inside his head on a loop that made him angrier by the second. But his hands were relaxed in his pockets, what he couldn't understand was why she felt so fixated on befriending him? For months she's been trying to form a bridge between them despite how often he shrugged her off. Just what was her deal?
Ciana sighed dramatically, looking kinda confused as she eyed the door while rubbing her head. "Well that didn't go as well as I wanted… All I can hope now is that he doesn't end up doing something stupid…" Once again Ciana wasn't very threatened by Bakugo, since he went in, Ciana sat down on the porch to look up at the night sky and think.
"Already I'm just starting out here and I wonder if I'll still even make it through… I admit Bakugo does have a point, it seems like All Might knew something about Izuku's new power he got… he clearly looked pretty fixed on him during the test, I wonder if he was just watching over him to make sure he didn't hurt himself more or that there's something more to his power…" Ciana sighed more as she continued watching the stars, her eyes now looking a bit fearful and concerned.
"I can't help but also wonder if I'm actually getting in the way of Izuku's goals… was that why he didn't want to talk about his powers with me…?" Ciana's eyes became more sad. "What should I do mom? Am I just starting to be a nuisance now?" Ciana asks as she was still looking at the stars, glancing behind her to make sure nobody was coming and looking around to make sure no one was watching… Ciana now took a deep breath, closed her eyes and began to sing a melody her mother sang to her whenever she felt like this…

Ciana began to shed some tears, opening her eyes now as she stared back to the sky with a smile.
"Hey, Midoriya?" Perking up from his daydream, he turned to find Ashido staring at him. "Did you know where Finley went? Food's here but I'm not sure if she went to her room or something,"
"O-oh, I'll go look," He quickly stood up. No, she definitely didn't get upstairs, he was sitting facing that direction, though that meant she might've gone outside. He saw Katsuki leave from the garden not long ago looking more vivid than usual, so Izuku had a feeling she might've been there. As he approached, the voices were background noise as he moved past the glass and spotted her. His hand moved the door aside, but only by a crack as he caught... her singing.

Ciana had her hands clutched together over her heart as she continued to sing the song.
Her voice was soft and kept a low volume so as to not be heard, but Izuku still heard her voice rise and fall. He wasn't an expert but it sounded almost as warm as her quirk when it activated. His body didn't move, he was certain he forgot to breathe, simply enraptured by her voice, his heart beating faster as he listened, drugged on her vocals.

Ciana soon paused her voice as a few tears were leaking out of her eyes, she sniffled and used her arm to wipe any tears away, her elbows plopping on her knees as she used her hands to hold her face up. Not even noticing Izuku behind her as her thoughts still spoke out loud.
"Sure will be a long three years… will I ever even make it home by then? Well however long it might be I hope I can survive until then… and hope I don't end up screwing anything up while I'm in this school." She says out loud, now becoming silent as her gaze wanders in front of her, feeling the cool breeze blow past her hair in a gentle manner.
He wasn't supposed to hear this, Izuku felt like he just walked in on something meant for her alone. But then again, he couldn't just walk away now, not after that, and seeing how visibly upset she was. "Come on, just talk to her already!" Taking a quick peek back, no one was moving in his direction so he silently stepped outside before finding his voice. "Y-you really don't give y-yourself enough credit," Pot calling the kettle black here. "And for the r-record... you s-sounded beautiful..." Izuku admitted, hoping he didn't look too flustered saying that.
Ciana yelped in a startled tone as she turned to see Izuku, blushing very red with wide eyes. "I-Izuku?!" Ciana became even redder just realizing he ended up hearing her, she was sure steam was coming out of her head now. "W-when did you get here?"
She asked very nervously, now looking in front of her again to hide her embarrassing expression. Hardly believing someone ended up hearing her thoughts and her voice.
"A-Ashido wanted me t-to see where you were s-since our food's arrived," He quickly bowed his head. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to overhear, more so what you said s-seemed more personal so..."
Ciana wasn't sure what to say after realizing Izuku heard her, the redness didn't even dim down from her cheeks as her hand went to her neck awkwardly. "I-it's okay, I-I guess that was my fault for not looking out for myself more ehehe…" Ciana says with a nervous chuckle, now looking back at him. Not knowing to her that the light in her eyes ended up lighting back up again, looking more bright in the dark. Her voice might have ended up triggering it this time.
"I-I probably looked pretty weird just talking out loud like this outside didn't I…?" She says embarrassingly while still smiling shyly, her glowing eyes still focused on her friend now.
"Mm, no, I-I tend to do it a lot, as you know," Izuku smiled slightly, but his words died in his throat as he saw the twilight and nightfall bring out the light in her eyes, more specifically, the same reaction they took when her quirk was used during the intimate experiment they performed. Izuku's heart pounded as his cheeks darkened a little. "Y-your eyes are glowing again, d-did singing trigger a similar reaction?" That was new waters if he was right.
Ciana was confused at first when Izuku looked surprised and maybe red, blinking her eyes a few times in wonder before he pointed out her eyes were glowing, her own eyes widening in surprise just hearing that. "What? "T-they are…?"
Ciana reached into her pocket again to take out her compact, noticing her eyes were indeed lighting up again. "T-they are! H-how did this happen? My voice did this?" She asked in a very confused manner, staring at her eyes in the mirror as she blinked a few times to process this. "Oh man this is embarrassing… I-I probably look like a flashlight now."
She comments shyly. "Am I starting to not have much control over my superpower anymore?"
Izuku moved closer to sit down next to her on the deck, inspecting her eyes for a moment longer. "...no, I-I think it might be emotions that trigger your quirk too, strong ones that is," He had a theory back when it first appeared but he didn't have a lot of evidence. There were times, however, when Ciana's quirk simply reacted without her input. "I-it's not seen in all quirks, but there are some that with strong emotions the b-body will trigger similar to fight or flight responses. So really it should fade once y-your body calms down," Which he realized wouldn't happen because he was here and had walked in on a private conversation with herself and a hobby she clearly liked to keep private too. "It's my fault, dammit, how do I fix this now?"
Ciana felt her cheeks warm up when he was inspecting her eyes, maybe feeling her heart race the way he looked at them. She wasn't completely calm as she was feeling so flustered right now… despite looking away her eyes continued to glow, playing with her long strand of hair awkwardly while smiling a bit.
"T-that might be hard… it's weird enough knowing my eyes can glow but doing it out in a place like this people will probably make fun of me saying I look like a nightlight or something." Ciana tried to laugh it off. "Who knew my emotions had an effect on me too."
"I think they l-look nice," Izuku offered, slash, admitted to what he daydreamed about randomly. "T-they suit you, like shooting stars, a-and your name means 'Light' so it fits, hehe..." He rubbed his nape, yeah that was really corny on his part.
Ciana was pretty surprised by what she heard, not just the part he commented about her eyes which made her blush more in the process… but that he knew what her name meant, now looking at him with a stunned expression as she forgot her eyes were glowing at the moment.
"Y-you knew what my name meant?" She seemed pretty surprised by that. "I-I thought my mom and dad were the only ones that knew…" she ends up sharing a little, now feeling a bit more embarrassed.
"Well, I... learned i-in my spare time beyond language lessons at Aldera, a-and I wanted to know what your name m-meant, now it makes sense y-you have a quirk that matches your name," Showing a comforting smile, Izuku looked down at his lap. "This probably isn't helping you relax again..."
"O-oh no that's fine." She smiled at him, scratching her cheek now bashfully. "I-i actually never really realized that, I-it's funny my name matched my superpower."
Already Ciana felt her cheeks warming up again just talking about this. "My mom always said I was the light of her life, which is why she and my dad called me that…" Ciana shared, looking down her lap shyly. "I guess that expression became more literate, funny enough…" she laughed a little now just realizing.
Now, Izuku looked up a little at the sky during darker, speaking softly. "I know it might come off bad, but... I'm glad you're here," His words made her eyes widen while continuing, rubbing his hands together. "I-If I'm honest, I'd be a stuttering mess in front of everyone, especially girls, but being friends with you helped me gradually begin to overcome that anxiety, and... I've been fortunate to trust someone with things I usually keep bottled up, like..."
He'd apologize to All Might after this.
Taking a slow breath, Izuku said it in a whisper to be careful. "...I inherited my quirk from All Might, I'm... his successor now,"
Ciana didn't expect to hear Izuku say that, very confused at first as she now eyes him with a lot of curiosity. "You… what?" Ciana says for starters, blinking her eyes to process what he just said.
"His successor?" Thinking about what he meant… she was starting to realize now why All Might was watching him. "Oh… so that's why he was watching you during the fitness test…" Ciana ended up commenting, not looking very surprised… she ended up starting to laugh a bit.
"Wow, that sure explains a lot now, at least I think it does." She smiled as her arms now hung back to hold herself up while her glowing eyes stared up at the stars.
She was laughing? Not in a mocking way either. Izuku had to do a double take. "Huh...?" He said it, the biggest secret in Japan and she looked no different. "I-I really shouldn't be saying this w-without him knowing, since the less people that know the better, but I..." He bit his lip. "I didn't want to hide it longer than necessary from you, b-but this wasn't the reaction I was expecting," Shaking his head, he waved his arms a bit. "Like maybe a surprised gasp or shocked face, even just a blank stare, but... a laugh, really?" He squinted, disbelief in his tone.
Ciana just giggled as her glowing eyes wandered back to Izuku with a warm smile. "I actually always had a feeling you were up to something, and like I said a while ago, all heroes have their secrets for good reasons." She said as her smile brightened more like her eyes.
"It's no surprise to me because it just all makes sense now, your friends with this world's top hero, training with his instructor and being my hero when you saved me a while back." Her eyes looked back up to the sky. "You clearly were preparing for something more than that, you weren't just proving how worthy you are of being a hero but also inheriting your power as well."
Her kind gaze came back to him. "I also noticed All Might was keeping a close watch on you, I admit at first I thought maybe I was becoming a nuisance to you… but it makes sense now why you did all this Izuku, you're just amazing."
He really, really didn't deserve to have her as a friend. Every curveball possible, a new world, training, a quirk, Katsuki, One For All, she just powered through every encounter with a smile, like the hero he admired. "...you're amazing too, so much more than me," He sighed a laugh before standing up and offering his hand to her. "I know you might not like it, but no one will judge you for your eyes, I certainly don't, and I'll explain more about my quirk tomorrow if that's okay with you?"
Ciana looked up to him the moment he stood up, her bright eyes stared into his as her heart began to race just seeing his own warm smile showing towards her as well as his words, Cianas gaze and smile rose more warmly as she slowly took hold of his hand. Even if he might already feel energized he could still feel the warm glowing sensation from her hand.
"I'll wait as long as you need me to." She says as her grip on his hand tightened a bit, at least she understood more about why he kept this from her now.
"Thanks," Helping her up again, he pulled her slightly. "Come on, otherwise there'll be nothing left for us," Saying that to her really helped pull a weight off his shoulders. Sure, the future was uncertain, and there were bound to be consequences, but Izuku knew they'd brave them all. He had confidence in that fact.
"Izuku wait." She suddenly calls him back by taking a hold of his shoulder before he goes back inside, her expression now looked… concerned and maybe worried. "There's something I should probably warn you about…"
"Hm, is something wrong?" He blinked, looking back at her.
Ciana tightened her grip on his shoulder, her eyes wandering down in an anxious manner. This is when the light in her eyes finally dimmed down. "Bakugo… he's… really bothered about your new power… you should be careful and watch your back around him."
Izuku felt that might've come back to bite him, sighing, he squeezed her hand. "I will, honestly, us confronting one another was unavoidable, but hopefully it'll be after I get a handle on my quirk," He really prayed for that moment.
If only they knew how wrong they were.
"I hope so Izuku…" She squeezed his hand back, remembering Bakugos words of how serious he seemed. "He really looked serious and angry so… I think it's possible he's going to do something stupid… maybe it's best I stick around you more in case he actually tries to hurt you."
Shaking his head, they went back inside. "Kacchan is violent but he wouldn't risk his position at UA, not with the two of us here, as he says, 'competing' with him, but t-thank you," He'd honestly wish she wouldn't be in harm's way, but maybe having Ciana in his corner when facing Katsuki would work to his benefit? He certainly felt better around her.
She walked back inside now with him, praying to herself they don't end up accidentally killing each other. "Just remember what I said before Izuku, no matter what he says and what he does, you stand your ground and show him your worth much more than he could possibly think about you." Ciana advises him with a serious tone, using her mothers wisdom that always helped her.
"I-I'll do my best," He hoped, if Izuku survived today, tomorrow should be a breeze, right?
But the worst had yet to come.
