By the time we boarded the airship, we were all basically passing out. Auron had ended up carrying Zaon, and Sora was barely walking on his own. Rikku looked tired, while Yuna was downright exhausted. I knew Kilika would be hard in our conditions, so I proposed that we all take power naps. Sora nodded and promptly found a spot to lay down. He wasn't even down for a couple minutes before he was sound asleep. Zaon was put down gently by Auron, as he was already napping. I guess everyone understood what a power nap was by looking at the two boys, and followed suit. I told Brother to get us to Kilika, and Brother to wake us in about two hours.
I must have napped because the next thing I knew, Buddy was gently shaking me to wake up. I found out that we all slept in the engine room for about four hours. But we had enough rest to tackle Kilika. We quickly ate, and ran out.
The townspeople knew something was up, and a couple fiends made it to the town. But when we talked to Dona, she seemed worried about Barthello. I told her we would check it out. Getting into the forest was easy, but all the ways to the temple were blocked. Except the secret treetop way. And with everyone's help, we made it. We ran straight for the Cloister of Trials. There Barthello was trying to fight a powerful fiend to stop it from escaping the temple and going to the town. I quickly cast Flare, and destroyed it.
Those powerful fiends called Varuna were guarding every room towards the Chamber of the Fayth. I told everyone that I would get us there, but to be ready with ice attacks and spells when we got there. Yuna heard that, and hung her head. She knew. Ifrit was waiting for us, and she knew it because he was the Aeon of fire. And I said to have ice attacks ready. I scooped up the Samurai dressphere on the way, and we entered the chamber.
As if by fate, Ifrit was there and possessed. I was almost out of Mana, but Sora handed me a Turbo Ether and I drank it. I cast a Blizzaga spell, and that sparked everyone into battle mode. We kept the same pattern, and Sora and I healed everyone while everyone else attacked. Once Ifrit was beaten, Yuna turned to me.
"I think you know more than you are telling us. I think now would be a good time to speak." She spoke softly, and I had to do something.
"Someone is trying to control Vegagun. The souls of the Aeons are now trapped into serving that person. Unfortunately if we don't defeat them, the fiends won't stop. And that puts the people in danger. We faced Bahamut, Valefor, and Ifrit. Shiva we will face in the future, but not now. Same for the Magus Sisters and Anima. Ixion we will deal with after we take care of other things. Yojimbo is waiting at the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, which is now a tourist attraction. And even though we won't face Shiva yet, she has sent fiends to the travel agency in Macalania. Once they are taken care of, I will explain more." I told them. Yuna looked heartbroken and I couldn't leave her like that.
"Yuna, I can tell you this. If you stay strong and weather this journey to the end, there will be a happy ending with the one you love." I looked at her, with tears filling my eyes. And hope finally filled her eyes. Auron knew beforehand that this would happen because during the two years we waited in peace, I told him everything.
We exited the temple, and Buddy grabbed us exactly where Zaon and Sora had gotten dropped off before. Buddy asked us where we were going next. I knew Spira was in chaos, and Yuna could calm the people. So I told him that we would walk through Spira except for Bikanel Island. Rikku asked why we were walking.
"Spira is in chaos right now. If we only go to where the temples are, people will think bad of us. And Yuna would look the worse. But if we walk and show the people that she is out there trying to help everyone. We would be seen as the best. And who doesn't want to be the seen as the best, right?" I explained and after a minute, Rikku nodded. So we chose to get off at Luca.
I was horrible at math in my old world, but we all entered the Sphere Break tournament. Sora was always good with math, so I told him to aim to win. I lost my first round, and then Sora told me that he needed one more win to advance. So I knew he could win. I challenged him and lost horribly. Finally he was at the finals against Shinra. I cheered my heart out for my boy, and after a couple of minutes he was announced the winner! He was handed the sphere, and he brought it over to me with a big grin on his face. I smiled and said it would be a great present for his sister. He took the hint, and motioned Yuna to come over to us. Yuna looked at us curiously, but did walk over to us.
"Sister, I want to make up for every birthday and holiday that I never gave you a gift for. So I do hope that this sphere can make up some of the gifts you should have gotten from me and Zaon." He spoke loudly, and the crowd was going crazy. Yuna looked at me and I nodded.
"You just being with me now is a gift but if you truly wish to give me this, I will accept it with love. Thank you for being the best brothers a girl could have!" She responded, and I swear the crowd lost their minds. Yuna and the boys had a group hug, although Zaon got roped into it. After we could get through the crowd and up the stairs, we moved to the Mi'ihen Highroad.
