The thing about Skye

She disregards all decorum and professionalism

It's not an uncommon sight to see Agent Daisy Johnson traipsing through base with a particular look in her eye and disconcerted frown.

Every new recruit has heard of Daisy Johnson- Quake- the fierce inhuman who can bring down entire buildings. And every single one of them is brought up short when their eyes, nervously and anticipatedly following the stalking agent, see her come upon her intended target before she- glomps onto their back.

She doesn't take them down to the ground, doesn't quake their bones apart for some slight against her. She walks right up to one of the doctors, wearing a lab coat and those silly protective goggles, and slumps over them, arms wrapped tightly around their middle.

Now, every single recruit expects that doctor, who is concentrating so hard, to jump or react, or something, but all that doctor does is pat the arm around her waist and pass back some protective eye coverings that the great Agent Johnson readily dons. And the great Quake, who was wearing such a terrifying expression before, melts. Her entire body relaxes, expression smoothing out, and a small smile starts playing on those previously down-turned lips.

The new recruits watch, wide-eyed, as she walks right up to the mountain of an engineer, who carries around a shotgun ax, and fearlessly jumps onto his back. And he, the terrifyingly large man, doesn't even react to the terrifyingly powerful inhuman, except for his normal scowl to slip into something soft- like a smile.

They watch incredulously as she walks right up to the mad genius, who rambles and sometimes throws things, and always has his hands wrist deep in things that explode, and she curls around his back, resting a curious chin on his shoulder.

She breezes in and out of the Director's office with hardly a knock, she hugs the Cavalry's arm to her chest, and sometimes, if the recruit is on a strange enough mission to some out of the way location, they find that she sleeps in the strangest places around base.

Daisy Johnson must be powerful to be able to do all this and not get reprimanded, so they resolve themselves that, if the inhuman ever chooses them as a target, they would do nothing as well.

To the older agents, it's not an uncommon sight to see the inhuman tearing through the base to find 'one of the few.' It's what the older agents call the people closest to the Director. The ones who were there before the fall of SHIELD, or there right after. They are the ones that the affectionate inhuman seeks out religiously- the favored one before she even became Other and gained supernatural powers.

Some people are bitter of the blatant favoritism of the inhuman, but more are amused, or, if they aren't too familiar with her, bemused.

Only she could get away with the flagrant disregard of decorum and professionalism, but when it counts, they'd always rather have her on the team than not. So they let the little things slide- like her need for cuddles by a few particular agents- and watch in amusement as the new recruits gape at the seemingly bizarre behavior and fear for their lives when they see her stalking down the halls with that 'look' that means she needs cuddles now and nothing can stop her- especially not decorum.

A/N: Next chapter is the Devil Complex aftermath, so that should be fun.
