'And just where have you been for last week?!' Bloomer roared as soon as he saw her.
'Clearing my thoughts.'
'And you couldn't call?'
'I forgot it.' She lied.
'What if something happened to your son?! How would I have got in touch with you!'
'What is it?'
'What's what?'
'Why did you need to get in touch with me?'
'Capsule Corp is hosting-'
'I'm not going.'
'Excuse me?!'
'I'm not going.'
'You're not going?'
'No more capsule corp stuff!'
'Excuse me, but if you think you can stay-'
'I'm leaving.'
He balked at her words; he was probably shocked she had the audacity to say that.
'I'm leaving, maybe forever; I don't know when you'll see me again.'
'You would really abandon-'
'He'd consider it a kindness. The boy doesn't want me in his life!'
'Can you blame him? You performed some heinous acts!'
'Then let me go!'
'You can't leave Trunks-'
'Trunks doesn't want me as his mother-'
'Of he doesn't! Who would ever want you as a mother? It really sucks that Trunks and I are tied to you for the rest of our lives!'
'If you stand aside, you'll never have to see me again.'
'You say that I like supposed to care about you leaving or coming back.'
'Then you won't ever see me again.'
Vegan grabbed her things and left out of capsule corp.
Left for good.
'Okay, how does this harvest thing work again?' Vegan asked as she sat on top of Goku's tractor.
She wore denim overalls over a short shirt the color of butter, a matching beanie, and blue sneakers; he wore his farming clothes.
'We're just picking radishes, simple.'
Vegan climbed into the tractor and began turning the wheel.
'I want to pilot this thing!'
'No one drives my baby but me!' He stated firmly. 'It's man's work.'
'Never pegged you as a misogynist, Kakarott.'
'Can you even drive?'
'How arduous could it be?!'
'Let's stick the radishes for today, and maybe next time, I will teach you how to drive.' Vegan groaned but got out of the tractor as Goku outstretched his hand. 'There's a hundred of these; we're going race-'
'This is a date, not a sparring session. And when you're on a date, you must ask your partner questions.'
'Do you want to race?'
'About Your partner.'
'I like to race; do you like to race?'
Vegas sighed. 'Okay. Let me show you. Hello, I am Vegan.'
'I already know- Oh! I am Son Goku.'
'Nice to meet you, Son Goku.'
This was the first time she's ever called him by his Earth name.
'This is the first time you've ever called me Goku.' He felt his face heating up. 'It's nice to hear you say it.'
She turned away, but not before Goku caught a blush staining her cheeks. 'I am on a date with Son Goku, not Kakarotto.'
Goku had to stare at her; he couldn't help it.
Whenever Vegan was around, Goku couldn't help but gaze at her. Her presence always held him captive; she was never far from his thoughts.
Her eyes always appeared to pursue him, too; maybe she was captivated by him as well.
She'd always fascinated Goku, even when she was an opposition; Vegan was an enigma to him.
Why did Bloomer let her go?
'Why did you and Bloomer break up?'
Vegan turned away from him, making Goku shriek, 'I'm sorry!'
'There's been three people in our relationship.' She said after a while. 'And three's a crowd.'
She looked so delicate in her misery; he just wanted to shield Vegan from her distress.
'I wouldn't stop training.' Goku said quietly. 'Chi Chi wants a normal life.'
'Normality doesn't equal happiness.'
'Why did you do it?'
'Kakarotto-'
'No, Vegan; why did you really?'
'Because I felt so lost, so desolate after your death.'
'Are you saying that you missed me?!'
'I didn't say that!'
'You missed me!'
'I didn't appreciate what I had until I lost it. And I can't get back the affection I forfeited, but,' Vegan sighed, 'that is my cross to bear. They don't want me, and I must live with it.'
'You shouldn't have to.'
'I've been alone before; it's not an exotic idea.'
'You've got me now!' Goku proclaimed. 'And I will never leave you.'
Vegan beamed and took Goku's hand.
