Season 2 Episode 4: Pups Save An Ace! Tearful Reunion Between Pup And Owner!

January 25th, 2030

"That was a great move, Ace. You should totally do that for the show!" Ben said as he watched the clip she had sent of her doing some of her stunts.

"I can't wait to show you and the rest of Adventure Bay the tricks I've been working on." Ace Sorensen, the stunt pilot, responded as she flew through the skies.

"I know one pup in particular who will be extremely happy for you to perform… but all of Adventure Bay is excited for you." Ben answered before the call ended.

He had managed to contact Ace and book her to do an air show in Adventure Bay. He had spoken about this with Ryder and Mayor Goodway, who had begun advertising that a legendary stunt pilot would be coming to the town for a show. However, they had kept the identity of the pilot a secret from Skye. This was due to the fact that Skye used to be Ace's pup.

Everyone on the Paw Patrol knew of the upcoming visit, and they were having a hard time keeping it secret. Skye was excited as well, though this would be nowhere near as excited she would become if she found out who the stunt pilot was. Ben watched on the bench as the pups played out in the yard. "I'm so excited for the stunt pilot air show that's gonna happen tomorrow! Trick flying is so amazing!" Skye gushed as she flew around with her wings.

"Not to me! The only thing I like to fly are kites!" Marshall chuckled as he ran over and picked up one of the kites that was laying on the ground. A gust of wind sent Marshall crashing into Rocky and the kite covered both of them. "Sorry Rocky! You okay?" The dalmatian apologized.

Rocky smiled as he was unhurt from the crash. "All good, Marshall. But your landing could use a little work." The mixed breed teased.

"Yeah, guess it was a little… rocky." Marshall joked, and the pups burst into laughter. Alex, Ella, Tuck, and Skye all giggled.

"Here comes Rubble, the pup to beat! Skateboarding through the obstacle course like no other!" Rubble cheered as he rode through a traffic cone obstacle course that he and Ryder had set up.

"But coming up right behind him is Ryder, hot on his tail! We've got a real race here, folks!" Ryder narrated as he kicked off the ground to propel his skateboard forward. Ryder's pup pad started to vibrate, as well as Ben's.

"I'll get it!" Ben shouted to his friend as he took the call. Seeing it was Ace, he ran into the Lookout tower lobby and picked up the phone.

"Ace?! What's going on? I didn't think I'd be hearing from you again until you arrived in town for the air show." Ben murmured anxiously as he saw the pilot's worried expression in her facecam.

"Yeah… about the air show… it seems that my plane is having some engine trouble." Ace replied, switching the camera view from front to back and showing the dials going out of control in her cockpit.

Ben immediately straightened up. "How can we help?" Ben asked.

"I'm going to try and get to Adventure Bay, but it's getting dark. I'll need a place to land." Ace told him.

"Don't worry, Ace. We're on it! No job is too big, no pup is too small!" Ben promised. "Thanks Ben!" Ace sighed.

Pressing the multicolored button on his pup pad, he called all of the pups to the tower. "PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!" Ben announced. Suiting up in his rescue armor, he went up to the control room to prepare the animatic for the mission.

Ryder, Chase, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, Rubble, Marshall, Alex, Tuck, and Ella ran into the glass elevator in the lobby, with Marshall still stuck in the kite. He started to soar with the wind, and then dove into the tower, his head bursting through the kite's seams, letting out a howl as he sat on top of the rest of the pups. "That was one rocky landing." Rocky joked. Everyone laughed as the elevator started to ascend, pausing at the halfway point to dress the pups in their gear and remove Marshall from the kite, before resuming and reaching the control room and opening up.

Ryder and the pups lined up in front of Ben. "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Benjamin, sir!" Chase declared.

"Thanks for racing up, everyone. Our stunt pilot friend is in trouble. She needs to make an emergency landing in Adventure Bay." Ben began.

"That's awful! I'm ready to fly if you need me, Ben!" Skye cried out.

Ben gulped nervously, as he hoped that Ace and Skye meeting up mid rescue wouldn't interfere with the mission. But she was right: he did need her to help with the rescue. "Of course, Skye. I need you to use your helicopter and night vision goggles to help our aviator pal land in the big field at Farmer Yumi's. Chase, I need you to use your cones to set up a runway in Yumi's field and use your light to guide Ace there. Ryder and the twins will help you with setting up. Rocky, when the plane lands, we'll need you to help repair it. I've also called in Wild, he'll meet you there. He's almost as good as you are with vehicles, Rocky. Marshall, your EMT gear and training will be needed to examine Ace for injuries." Ben explained, giving everyone their assignments.

"I'm fired up for a ruff ruff rescue!" Marshall yelled.

"Let's take to the skies!" Skye yipped, doing a backflip.

"We're on it, Ben!" Tuck and Ella cried out.

"Green means go!" Rocky howled.

"Chase is on the case!" The German Shepherd roared.

"All right! Saving one's life means saving the future! PAW Patrol, roll to the rescue!" Ben shouted out before taking the fire pole to the garage, with Ryder following him down the pole as the pups took the slide to their vehicles. Mounting his Dragon Cycle, Ben tore out of the garage as the pups drove onto the road. "Dragon Cycle, activate Dragon Wings!" The armored teen exclaimed as he pressed a button on the motorbike, causing the wings to extend out from the sides as Ben did a back wheelie and jettisoned off into the air along with Skye.

"Ben, I'm not seeing the plane!" Skye nervously said. Ben consulted the tracker on his bike's pup pad, checking the location of Ace's phone as it was being tracked.

"According to the signal, she should be coming over the peak of Jake's mountain right about now!" Ben replied.

A trail of smoke from the plane's engine was visible as Ace's plane flew into their field of vision. Skye exhaled in relief as she saw the pilot. "Miss stunt pilot, we see you! Do you copy?" Skye's voice spoke over Ace's communications system.

"No way… that sounds just like my old pup!" Ace thought to herself. Maybe the smoke was messing with her brain. "Can't see… smoke in the cockpit!" Ace coughed.

Disengaging the seal for her cockpit to get rid of the smoke, she took in a breath of fresh air to clear her head. "Miss, are you okay?" Skye repeated, getting a bit more anxious as she saw the cockpit seal fly off.

Once again, Ace noted the eerie similarities to the voice on the radio and the voice of her former pup, Skye. When Barb had come home without Skye and told her that Skye had gotten lost in Adventure Bay, Ace was so upset with her mom. She canceled her air show and flew to the town to search for her pup. Unfortunately, without a proper police force or detective agency in town, Ace had no luck finding Skye. She would return to Adventure Bay several times over the next few months attempting to find her pilot pup without any success whatsoever. "I'm fine! I had to open up the seal to get rid of the smoke." Ace answered.

Skye did a double take as she flew closer to the plane, zooming in with her goggles as she gasped. "ACE! IT'S YOU!" Skye squealed in delight as she saw that the stunt pilot was her former owner. The excited yipping and a glance at the pup in the helicopter cockpit made Ace realize that it was no faulty memory or brain problem. This was her old pup Skye!

"SKYE! Oh my god, it's really you!" Ace exclaimed as she saw her pup for the first time in years. "It's been so long! I thought I would never see you again!" Skye shrieked happily.

"I know! I never thought I'd see you again either! This is the luckiest day of my life!" Ace gasped.

Then her airplane sparked and the engine groaned. "But it looks like I'm running out of luck!" Ace groaned as the plane started to be harder to control.

"You two, save the reunion for when you're both on solid ground! You won't be together again for long if one of you crashes your aircraft!" Ben scolded, reminding the two girls that they still had a job to do.

Meanwhile, Chase, Ella, Ryder, Tuck, Wild, Marshall, and Rocky were helping get the runway set up for Ace to land in. Chase tossed the cones out, while Ella and Tuck set flashlights up provided by Rocky next to the cones pointing in the air. "Ruff! Floodlight!" Chase barked as he opened up his pup pack and used a brighter version of his usual flashlight to help illuminate the runway.

"Hope you guys actually needed me… I was taking a nap." Wild groggily said.

"We'll need you in a couple of minutes to help us repair Ace's plane." Ryder revealed.

The cream colored cat jumped up and crouched down at this news. "Woah woah woah, you guys want me to work on a plane?! I've never done that before!" Wild protested.

"You helped me and Ben with installing the land mode for Skye's helicopter!" Rocky pointed out.

"And you made our cruiser!" Tuck added.

"Yeah! The one that splits into two motorcycles!" Ella chimed in.

"Well, I suppose I can give it a go…" Wild chuckled, puffing out his kitten chest in pride.

"Thanks Wild. Now all we have to do is wait for Ace, Skye, and Ben. I hope they're okay." Ryder replied.

"Me too…" Marshall murmured worriedly as he looked up at the starry night, uttering a silent prayer for their friends to make it through this okay.

Ryder's voice came over their communications system. "Ben, Skye. You should be near the farm. Look for the runway lights." Ryder instructed.

Then a sickening popping and sputtering from the airplane was heard. "Skye, my airplane won't make it to the runway! I have to jump!" Ace shouted.

"In the dark!? You won't be able to see where you're landing!" Ben protested.

Ryder paused for a few seconds before coming up with a plan. "Have you ever done any wing walking, Ace?" Ryder inquired.

"Actually, I have! It's my favorite stunt!" Ace answered. "My owner is the greatest wing walker in the entire world!" Skye added.

"Good. Here's the plan. Skye, drop your cable and harness from the helicopter. If Ace can get out on the wing and attach it to herself, she won't have to parachute." Ryder told them.

"Got it!" Skye and Ace responded in unison.

It was a precarious rescue, with the plane nearly throwing Ace off several times. The pilot managed to get herself into the harness, and Skye lifted her to safety. Ace's plane, however, wasn't as lucky. After Skye and Ben lifted up with Amelia in tow, Ben glanced back to see the plane taking an immediate nosedive, falling down and crashing into the ground before it burst into a blazing explosion. "Amelia! No!" Ace cried out in horror as she saw the destruction of her plane.

Ben did a double take. "Hold on. You named your plane Amelia, as in Amelia Earhart?" Ben asked.

"Of course I did! She's one of the greatest female pilots to ever live!" Ace scoffed at Ben's response.

"Yeah, but she also disappeared in the middle of her flight and was never found!" Ben argued.

"Yeah, well, they never found a body!" Ace countered.

As they approached the farm, Ace let out a whoop of enjoyment. "Woo-hoo! This is more fun than wing walking! I should add it to my stunt show." The aviator commented as Skye set her down on the ground.

Ben landed on the ground and disengaged the Dragon Cycle's flight mode. "Okay, Marshall, let's give Ace a check over to make sure she doesn't have any injuries." Ben ordered.

"I'm fine, but my plane's absolutely wrecked. I guess that means no airshow." Ace sighed.

As they assessed Ace's condition, she talked to Skye about what she was going to do. "Well, since I don't have a plane to go back home with, I don't have anywhere to stay… could I sleep on the Lookout's couch or something?" Ace asked.

Skye jumped into the air and twirled around. "I'd love that! That would be the best ever!" Skye squealed happily.

"When I do leave Adventure Bay, you're coming with me, right?" Ace chuckled.

Skye and Chase both stopped in their tracks. "I dunno! I guess I'll have to think about it." Skye giggled. Chase's ears drooped in despair as he heard that. Skye was considering leaving?! But she was their sister, and to him, she was more than just family. He loved her so much! He couldn't imagine her leaving… couldn't imagine life without her. Externally, Chase smiled at that. But internally, he was panicking. He didn't want to lose his best friend…
