AN: By request of Miraculous_Cheshire_Cat on Ao3, another ending where Mike gets a little murdery after Molten Freddy kills Dipper.
Blood was the first thing that Mike noticed when he was thrust out of whatever mental void Molten Freddy had been keeping him trapped in. Blood coating his hands, blood slowly spreading across the floor, blood splashed across his face, basically everywhere except where it should be, inside the body of Mike's new little brother. Mike's first instinct was to reject the scene before him, to believe that this was just some nightmare that Molten Freddy had conjured up to torture him with, that Dipper couldn't possibly be dead.
Unfortunately having the blood of a recently murdered little brother on his hands and face was something Mike had experienced once before and it was a sensation he never forgot and knows that it was real. Mike can sense growing anticipation from the animatronic parasite attached to his mind and soul and he knows what it is waiting for. Molten Freddy was waiting for Mike's reaction to Dipper's death, to see Mike's grief over losing Dipper, his guilt over being the one responsible for killing another little brother, his despair at once more failing to keep someone he cared about safe. And while Mike certainly felt all those things, they were overshadowed by his growing rage.
If Molten Freddy, hell, the entire universe, demands that Mike always be viewed as a killer, then he will be a killer.
Turning his Focus inward Mike lashed out at the parasite attached to his soul, attacking with such ferocity that even that monster was startled by it. Mike attacked viscously and relentlessly, ignoring the animatronic's panic even when it used Mike's own voice to beg for mercy and plead for help. Mike had no mercy to give as he tore the AI's consciousness to shreds and absorbed every drop of remnant into his own soul completely and totally.
Mike breathed in and out, his immediate firey fury settling down into a bubbling rage burning hot and steady in his chest. Opening his eyes, Mike had just enough time to dodge the axe swing aimed right at his head.
"I'll make you pay for what you've done you monster!" Wendy snarled, standing protectively over Dipper's body.
"Don't worry, I'm going to destroy the one responsible for his murder," Mike informed with pure venom in his voice, giving his dead little brother one last sad look before turning and heading out on his hunt. Wendy was so surprised by his statement that she didn't think to pursue after him until he was already out of sight.
Mike began hunting the monsters and demons roaming the wasteland, attacking with vicious fury, uncaring of his own safety, and pushing his body to keep fighting even when sustaining enough injuries to kill a normal human. Those wounds didn't matter in the end, because as soon as he was victorious, Mike would absorb his opponent's remnant, letting its energy heal his wounds and give him more power as he strengthened himself to face his true target.
The surviving humans would flee at the sight of him, even those he'd unintentionally saved by attacking the monsters. Mike couldn't blame them as from the glimpses of his reflection he'd catch he was a terrifying sight. Covered head to toe in various blood splatters in different stages of drying, black corrupted remnant dripping from his animatronic parts, a furious expression on his face, and how he just radiated murderous intent, a small part of Mike could admit he had truly become a monster.
For the most part, Mike ignored any humans he came across, his slowly fading humanity informing him they didn't deserve his wrath. But there was this one group of humans that met a different fate. A bunch of burly men had surrounded him in their decked-out cars and their child leader demanded Mike obey him. Mike was going to just brush past them, possibly killing one or two if they tried to stop him, but then he heard one of the thugs address the child leader by name.
Gideon
Memories came to Mike, of Dipper telling him of the adventures that had happened over the summer. Gideon had been mentioned more than once, an evil little menace that had tried to kill Dipper multiple times. And now that same Gideon stood over Mike, bragging how he was in league with the Demon that Mike hated with his very soul.
What happened next can't be described as anything other than a massacre.
Mike had lunged for Gideon, only for one of the thugs to get in his way. Mike wasted no time in tearing through that thug and mercilessly slaughtering all the others before it was just him and Gideon in the corpse filled battleground. The child barely had time to squeal in fear before Mike was slicing his throat. Something ended up getting tangled in his claws and Mike examined it to find a key with a familiar-looking symbol on it.
Mike stood there staring at the key for a long time, his mind at war between continuing his revenge for his dead sibling versus the reminder that he still had a living one that might need help. Mike eventually dropped the key on the ground and continued his hunt, some part of him trusting that the red-headed girl stalking him would find it soon and make better use of it than he would.
The Demon seemed to catch on to what Mike was doing after that as two of his Henchmaniacs attacked Mike. Mike wasted no time in killing one and forcing the other to take him to the demon's lair. As soon as they arrived, Mike killed that one too. The other Henchmaniacs shrieked and growled in rage, preparing to tear Mike apart before the Demon ordered them to stand down.
"I must say I'm impressed Eggs!" The demon greeted Mike as it hovered over its throne. "I didn't think you had such a fun manic side within you, though I should have known considering what your family is like. Why you could fit right in with my crew if you want to! So what made you seek me out Eggs? Do you want money? Power? What can I do for you?"
"DIE!" Mike snarled before sprinting at the demon.
Now Mike wasn't completely lost in his rage yet that he couldn't still think and plan. Physically, Mike was no match for Cipher, especially since at the moment he was about the size of an ant compared to the giant demon. And even with all the power and energy, he had gathered, Mike was still incredibly weak compared to what the demon wielded. It was impossible for Mike to leave any kind of permanent injury on the demon, let alone kill it. Mike knew it. Cipher knew it. And that's why the demon and his thugs all laughed as Mike began clawing his way up the demon's leg.
But this was more than just a battle of strength or power, it was a battle of souls and Mike had spent decades studying his father's research and had been using his time hunting to perfect his control over remnant and the abilities it contained.
As soon as Mike reached Cipher's main body, Mike took all his grief, sorrow, guilt, and self-loathing and concentrated it into the remnant he had gathered for just this purpose. He then used his claws to dig into the demon and poured the emotion-filled remnant into the wound where it began to spread like poison. To a creature like Cipher, who had never felt those kinds of emotions in his existence, suddenly having them flood his soul in such raw extremes was overwhelming.
Mike couldn't destroy the Demon, but that's why he made the Demon destroy himself.
Without the Demon, the mad world that had been created began to break apart and get sucked back into the rip in reality. The world was returned to normal, but Mike could only scream in rage and despair when he realized he was destroyed like the rest of the Demon's creations. He screamed until his voice gave out and he was reduced to silent sobs.
Lost in his grief and anger as he was, Mike didn't notice someone approach him until they touched his shoulder. Acting on instinct, Mike lashed out with his claws though he had enough presence of mind not to go for the immediate kill yet.
It took a moment to see the scene before him truly and when he did he couldn't help but feel more guilt. Stan was clutching a bleeding arm, though he looked more worried about Mike than himself. Ford stood protectively in front of Stan, pointing his gun at Mike's head though he seemed reluctant to do so. Wendy and Soos were farther back, holding a struggling Mabel who was desperately trying to reach Mike. Several of them were talking, but Mike couldn't focus on the words being said.
"Don't follow me," Mike forced past his sore throat as he stumbled back a bit. "I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself next time…"
Mike ignored whatever reactions the others had as he turned away and ran into the woods, using his fading clarity to put as much distance between them while he could. He didn't belong with them after what he'd done if he ever did. They were just a bitter reminder of why he didn't deserve happiness as he only brought tragedy and heartbreak wherever he went.
The guilt and grief hurt too much so Mike let himself get lost in his anger, directing his rage on a new, or rather old, target. He was once more determined to get rid of the man who started it all and wipe his last few creations off the face of the earth. And with Mike's new power and control over remnant, Mike knew they would not be able to hide from him anymore. With this new goal in mind and his rage fueling him, Mike once more began his hunt.
May god or whatever divine being out there have mercy on anyone that might accidentally get in his way because Mike certainly wouldn't.
