A/N: I hope everyone reading this has played the first Ikari Warriors game.
"Christ! It's like they just keep throwing them at us!" Ralf readjusted the trusty assault rifle he had strapped to his arm. It was good to keep his other arm free for chucking grenades…or punching enemies.
"He's here somewhere." Clark adjusted his own gun, checking the loads. "We'll get him."
Ralf and Clark had cut through about three hundred legions of soldiers…or so they figured. The last tank they had commandeered had long been damaged to the point of uselessness, and the pair had to at this point conserve what ammo they had left, relying on mostly just beating the enemies down with their bare hands.
"Damn straight. We came all this goddamn way."
"Kawasaki's still alive. He's gotta be."
"He won't die that easily. Commander said as much. He's known him too long."
"Fuck! Look out!"
The pair adjusted their ARs and pointed toward the stream of soldiers that ran out, emptying almost what was left of them into the crowd. The few that were left were greeted with Ralf's patented metal-coated gloves that would spark when he hit other steel, and Clark's deadly grappling maneuvers.
Pulling themselves out of the carnage, they checked their loads.
"Two shots each," Ralf said.
"None here. Two grenades."
The friends looked at each other, Ralf pulling one round from his gun and handing it to Clark, as the other handed him one of his grenades.
Readjusting themselves, they looked into the room, knowing it was likely it.
"Do or die now, friend."
"Roger, Captain."
Ralf looked at him and laughed. "It's Ralf right now. Worry about the technical shit back at the base."
Clark grinned back, smacking his fist against his and joining him in the run for the door, running in and plowing over the odd straggler with their bare hands, their meager ammunition being saved for what might be needed inside.
The red carpet in the massive compound almost looked ominous…as did the corpse sitting at the desk at the end of it.
Halting in their path after smashing two more enemy soldiers back a dozen yards, they shook their heads, looking at one another.
"The hell…"
"...Is this?"
The corpse didn't move; it was uniformed, even decorated with metals. They had no idea how he had died, given the shape of it was fairly old.
"We are gonna have fun reporting this one," Ralf said.
"Wait…what's this?"
The back wall of the gigantic room began to light up-screens lighting up one by one, until they were faced with a skull-like visage at the end. Turrets around the room began to aim.
"A fucking supercomputer?" Ralf yelled, nonplussed.
"Looks like it." Clark grabbed his grenade, judging the distance between them and the back, which was quite far. "You think you can dodge?"
"We've been dodging more than a few turrets this entire time, buddy," he grinned, grabbing his own grenade.
"Let's go!"
A/N: Look, I'm just saying that the Ikari storyline was never decanonized from the actual SNK storyline. XD Forgive me if this one is weird, I had to give plot and dialogue to a game that barely had any.
I MAY Have stretched the limits of 'KOFtober' with this one, but Ralf and Clark ARE in KOF. And this was a final boss they had to fight…albeit possibly their most anti-climactic. In the arcade, it was literally just the corpse at the desk; the NES had a weird supercomputer thing behind it as the final boss. I decided to go with this since it was…slightly more climactic than just the desk corpse, LOL. (You blew it up and…then beat the game with some pretty glorious poorly translated 80s English.)
I guess I decided that Commander Heidern knew General Kawasaki, because why not. The lore of the Ikari games could fill ⅓ of a notebook page. Given the games were called Ikari Warriors, and so is the unit, in my head this was some of the first missions they did as a unit(though Ralf/Clark were already in the military before then), since the unit was formed right after the incident with Heidern's family.
Ralf is a Colonel in later games (which is a legit high rank in the Army), but I can imagine he was a Captain in these days since it had to be like 12 or so years before KOF.
