Patch is a small island to the west of Vale. It is also the location of Signal Academy. The island is safe enough for a family to live in their houses and for people to build a combat school but is also large enough to have areas infested with Grimm like its forest.

Today, this particular day, the Arcs have arrived.

"This is quite a lovely place," said Terra. She was glad that she came with. "So? Why were you reluctant to come?".

"It's not so much as the place. Patch is indeed a lovely place with less Grimm than back home," said Saphron. She then sighed. "It's just, I would rather watch Jaune's adventure. If Jaune was coming with us, you won't be hearing any complaints from me. Plus, I don't mind it at all now. OTG gave us a remote that could change the channel of any Tv to let us watch Jaune. And! It wouldn't affect the others watching. Just the two of us".

"Huh? When did you get that from OTG?" asked Terra. She didn't remember Saphron having it before.

"Oh! While we were bringing the bags to the car, a delivery man arrived and gave me a package," said Saphron. Terra already knew that it was the remote that was in the package. "It also has a note that OTG would not be able to contact us for a while. Something about repeatedly creating a connection to our world through the mirror may cause a multiversal rupture".

"Yikes! That is not good," said Terra. She and Saphron have been learning more about multiverse studies. They found it quite fascinating, but there were differences between the understanding of one person to another. It was a good read. Hence, Saphron and Terra understood what a multiversal rupture could signify. "But I guess it is to be expected. We learned that OTG was the God amongst Gods".

"Yeah, it's still a wonder how Jaune was able to come into contact with such a being," said Saphron. She was a naturally curious person. "Hmm? Maybe I should ask Jaune. If he refuses to answer, then I'll respect that".

"Oh? I thought you were going to say that you would bug him until he tells you," said Terra. She laughed. "That's what you normally do".

"Hey! I'm getting better," said Saphron. She crossed her arms. "I wasn't that bad".

"Oh, don't be like that," said Terra. She then hugged Saphron. "I found it adorable. And so did Jaune".

"You think so?" asked Saphron.

"I know so," said Terra. She knew that Jaune didn't mind it. "Because if he didn't like it, he would have said something, and he wouldn't be laughing".

"True, Jaune is straightforward," said Saphron. She knows that her brother will say something if she does something he doesn't like or is irritated with. "Do you remember all those times we annoyed and irritated him?".

"Yup!" said Terra. She was laughing at the memory. "What do you think is Jaune doing now?".

"I don't know," said Saphron. Predicting what Jaune is doing is near impossible. "But once we get to the Rose/Xiao Long family house, we can use the remote and find out".

Terra and Saphron then continued to converse.

Not far from Jaune's girlfriend was the rest of the Arc sisters.

"Ugh! Why couldn't we stay back home with Jaune?!" said Cyan. She wanted to ask Jaune for help with her new instrument, the Melodica. "I wanted to practice using the melodica with Jaune. We can make new music together. But no! We have to go on a family vacation! Jaune could have taken care of us".

"You know that is impossible," said Viridian. She knew that with Jaune in his trance, he would barely be able to take care of himself. Albeit he would stop what he was doing if he gets hungry. "You know how he is when he is on a roll with his book".

"You know it's your fault Jaune is into writing a novel," said Cyan. She was annoyed. "IF you didn't give him that book for his birthday, he would be here with us".

Saphron and Terra heard Cyan. They both shook their heads as they knew even if the book did not exist, Jaune would still be elsewhere.

Why? Because Jaune seemed to have planned it long ago, his travel.

"Hey! Quit complaining, you aren't the only one that wants to spend time with Jaune," said Beryl. Before Jaune went on his seclusion, they were going to make a new snickerdoodle recipe. "I wanted to try the new recipe Jaune would have made. I still can't believe that Jaune is so good at cooking and many other things".

"Well, Jaune did learn everything in advance," said Jade. She saw Jaune studying all their interest. "Jaune always learns everything he could about the things we do so that if we need help, he would be there to show us where we went wrong".

"Yeah, Jaune is an awesome brother," said Cyan. She smiled. She loved her brother. "Maybe we should do something for Jaune when we get back home. Let's show him that we care for him as much as he cares for us!".

"That's a good idea," said Viridian. She thought about what she could do or make for Jaune. "Oh! How about I make a painting of Jaune slaying Grimm?! I bet he would love that".

"No doubt. Jaune did want to be a Huntsman since he was ten years old," said Ivory said. With Jaune's increasing strategic capability, she thought that if Jaune couldn't be a Huntsman, he would love to be someone that would help them better fight Grimm. "You should go for it".

Arc sisters continued to converse and decided to add Saphron and Terra to their convo since they know Jaune more intimately. Getting their opinion is a Godsend.

Saphron and Terra decided to do a bit of a prank.

Since Viridian was planning to paint something, why not surprise Jaune with a painting from the scene of him and Scáthach's match? That would certainly surprise him when he comes back.

As for Jaune, he was in the Emiya household.

Why?

Because Rin was there visiting Shirou.

"So?" asked Rin. She was worried that Jaune would attack her. She did not believe for a second that Jaune was not part of the Holy Grail war. After all, he has a 'Command Spell'. "Why are you looking for me?".

"It has to do with your magic crest," said Jaune. There was no point betting around the bush. "I'm interested in it".

"You do know that it is useless for you," said Rin. She then thought about it for a bit. "Might be useless for you. We don't know if it is even compatible with you".

"Okay. First of all, you seem fine with me being interested in your magic crest as you completely assumed wrong why I am interested in it," said Jaune. It was kind of freaky. Rin was not doing anything to protect herself even though she believed that Jaune wanted to steal her magic crest. "Second, I only want to analyse it, and don't worry, I can do so without taking the magic crest outside your body".

"Indeed, I assumed wrong of what you wanted with my magic crest," said Rin. She crossed her arms and spoke. "But why should I comply with you? What do I get in return if I allow you to analyse my magic crest?".

"You can ask for many things, but I know you are curious as to who your summoned Servant is," said Jaune. This got Rin's interest. "He has been lying to you about him forgetting his identity. He just doesn't want you to know what he is really after".

Jaune smirked and Archer appeared

"I do not know if you are aware of my identity, but I suggest you stay quiet," said Archer. He looked at Jaune with a stern, murderous look. "It won't go the same way with Lancer".

"It's funny," said Jaune. He chuckled a bit. "You know, if you like, I have a way to sever your connection with the Counter Force and free you from your contract".

With Jaune's words, Archer knew the man before he knows about his identity.

"Now, I know you are wondering how I know?" said Jaune. He smirked at Archer. "Why would I tell you that? Let's leave the mystery for another time. For now, I want to ask you. Do you wish to sever your connection with the Counter Force?".

Archer stared at Jaune. He knew there is a way to sever the contract with Alayashiki, but he did not know how to do so.

"So? What will it be?" asked Jaune. He looked at Archer who was contemplating his choices. "In return, I want to see a few of the things you have stored in your Reality Marble, For example, Kanshou and Bakuya, Rho Aias, Hrunting, etc.".

"That's it?" asked Archer. If that was all, then he was losing nothing. Him being free of Alaya was more important "Alright, I'll play along".

Archer did not believe Jaune yet, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. He was losing nothing in the process. All he had to do was show Jaune a few of his things stored in the UBW.

Archer took out the weapons listed by Jaune and a few others. One of which was Durandal.

Jaune inspected them.

The purpose of this is to make a recreation of them through AoE. With even a slight understanding of the working of the weapons, Jaune can more easily create them.

Sure Jaune can re-create them through AoE without any understanding, but the complexity of it would make recreating them difficult and time-consuming.

Why work harder? When you can work smarter. Jaune has a guy that has the item stored in his Reality Marble, might as well take advantage of it.

Shock.

Rin and Archer were shocked to see Jaune creating the weapons he analysed.

Archer could tell it was nothing like his Tracing.

No, the weapons he sees before him were new. A weapon newly created, but with the power of a Noble Phantasm.

"How did you do that?" said Rin. She was amazed. It was akin to the First True Magic. "It reminded me of the First Tue Magic that was recorded in Magus history, but I can tell you were using magical energy, meaning it wasn't the First True Magic".

"You want to know, then let me inspect your magic crest," said Jaune. He then pointed at Archer. "He can tell I am not lying about knowing his identity either".

"Yes, but you still haven't done your end of the deal," said Archer. He was waiting for Jaune to sever his connection to the Counter Force".

Jaune nodded and took out Greed.

Archer and Rin stared at Jaune and were ready to fight.

"Calm down," said Jaune. He sighed. He knew what it looked like when he took out Greed. "Greed, my weapon, is capable of different things depending on the form. Its scythe form is capable of affecting immaterial things such as magic itself, or in this case, your contract with Alaya".

Archer and Rin looked at Jaune as if he was crazy.

"Look, I promise I won't harm you," said Jaune. In this world, his word as an Arc is not worth a dim, but he is still an Arc. "When an Arc makes a promise, we don't break it".

Archer stared at Jaune and saw that the man was serious.

"What is that?" asked Archer. "A family motto?".

"It is," said Jaune. "My family comes from a long line of heroes from where I'm from. From the beginning until now, there isn't a single Arc that broke their word".

"Arc? Are you French? Are you related to the Maid of Orleans?" asked Rin. There isn't much Arc in history. Even then. It is said that the name d'Arc in Jeanne d'Arc's name is a typo or something.

"Oh no, I have nothing to do with her," said Jaune. As someone from Earth originally, he knew about the Maid of Orleans. "Although, I wish to meet her".

Jaune then transformed Greed into its scythe form.

For a while now, Archer was trying to trace Greed, but to no avail. The weapon was even harder to trace than Excalibur.

"Well, here we go," said Jaune. He then split the head of the scythe into three, signifying his use of its ultimate form. "Deadly Inferno!".

"Deadly what?!" said Archer.

However, before he could do anything, Jaune already struck him.

Feeling his body, Archer felt nothing wrong. Then as if an immaterial object was removed from him, he felt free.

"See?" said Jaune. He felt proud. To Rin and Archer, it felt like no time at all, but to Jaune who was concentrating the best he can to not make a mistake, it felt very long. "I told you I'll be able to do it".

For a second, if Jaune deviated from his strike, he would have erased Archer. But he wasn't going to mention that.

As Jaune finished severing Archer's connection to the Counter Force, it started to appear, but it suddenly ran away.

"Huh? Was that the Counter Force?" asked Jaune. It was weird. "Why would it come just to leave?".

"I do not know," said Archer. He saw the Counter Force fleeing in fear. "But is better this way. I didn't realise that it would manifest itself once my connection to it was severed".

"Yeah! Neither did I," said Jaune. He sighed with relief. He didn't think he was strong enough to combat something like the Counter Force. At least for now. "Oh, well. I think I know what happened".

Jaune believed it had something to do with OTG.

Jaune silently gave his thanks to OTG, then pointed at Shirou.

"By the way, how did you summon her?" asked Jaune. He was curious. The reason Saber was summoned in cannon was due to him being hunted down by Lancer, but that did not happen. "The circumstances that should have led you to summon her did not happen. So? How did that happen?".

"I was in my shed training my magecraft when a magic circle I didn't even know about react to me," said Shirou, He was minding his business and doing his usual training. "Before I knew it, she was standing before me and asked if I was her master".

"Oh! Kinky!" said Jaune. He was smirking as Saber glared at him. "I didn't know King Arthur or should I say Artoria Pendragon had such a fetish".

"How do you know of my identity?" asked Saber. Even her Master knew nothing about her for he was a third-rate magus with barely any knowledge of Magecraft.

"I know many things," said Jaune. "I also know of your disposition and contract with the Counter Force".

To say that Saber was shocked is an understatement. Nonetheless, Rin now understood that Jaune might be telling the truth about knowing her Servant's true identity, but she didn't care about that now after seeing what he was capable of.

No, Rin wanted to ask for something else.

Why settle for information about her Servant? According to Jaune, Archer was lying about not knowing his True Name. That means if she wanted to know Archer's identity, she could use a Command Spell, not the first time she wasted one.

"I don't care about Archer's identity. I want something else," said Rin. She was thinking about what she wanted. "I want to know if you could give me a sure way of winning the Holy Grail War".

Jaune shook his head.

"There is no feasible way of winning the Holy Grail War," said Jaune. He then explained. "You can eliminate all the Masters you want, but in the end, the only thing that would result in any wish that is made is the destruction of humankind. The Holy Grail has been corrupted for some time now".

"Corrupted?" asked Rin. Saber was interested in what Jaune had to say as well. "How?".

"During the Third Holy Grail War, the Einzbern tried to cheat the system. They tried to summon an irregular Servant, one that is not normally summonable, an Avenger," said Jaune. "Said Avenger was Angra Mainyu, the being that holds all the evil of the world. One problem, Angra Mainyu was weak and is the first Servant to be eliminated.

However, upon Angra Mainyu's death, all the evil of the world corrupted the Holy Grail. Now, you can imagine how powerful all the evil of the world would be. Hence, no matter what you wish for, only destruction would be granted".

Truth be told, Jaune can remove the corruption of the Holy Grail if he can gain access to the Greater Grail, but he didn't want that. It was best to end the Holy Grail War.

It has been a nuisance to the people of the mundane world.

"So all these are pointless?" asked Rin. Although she didn't desire the Holy Grail War like the others, she was curious. "That sucks for all those that thought they would be getting something in return for putting their lives at stake. As for me, I do not want the Holy Grail, I just want to prove I can win".

"Sorry, I am deviating from my main objective as to why I came here," said Jaune. He sighed. He hoped to only stay for a little while, but he was naïve to think that there would be no issue. "Again, I can do nothing for you about the Holy Grail War. So, ask for something else".

Rin thought about something to ask for, she held her necklace and thought of asking for something absurd. It was only meant to be a joke.

"Okay, I think I know what I want," said Rin. She smiled and spoke. "I want you to make a copy of this necklace and fill them all with a hundred years of mana…No! make it a thousand years!".

It was meant to be a joke.

"Okay," said Jaune. He took the necklace and analysed it for a moment. Then he did as Rin asked. "There you go".

Rin was shell-shocked.

"What?" said Rin. She held both necklaces in her hand and inspected them. "What?! How much magical energy do you have?!".

Rin took the necklace and felt the magical energy inside. It was not a thousand years' worth of mana, but so much more.

"I take it you like it?" said Jaune. Making the necklace was not as difficult as making the Noble Phantasm he saw from Archer. "It wasn't difficult, your request that is. So? Can I see your magic crest now?".

Rin sighed and thought she should have thought of something more practical, then again, she now has a reserve in her necklace that is thousands of years' worth of mana.

Oh, Rin. You jest, Jaune put more than a few thousand years of mana.

You see, Jaune had no way to calculate how much energy he was expending. So, he just kept storing more and more. How much is in the necklace is more than enough to do the most outrageous Magecraft hundreds of thousands of times and it wouldn't run out.

Jaune was all too happy to finally have a chance to inspect the magic crest.

The complexity of it was more than he thought, but he can manage.

Jaune made a pill a while back called the Holy Pills of Qu Xing. It is an item that is meant to push his intelligence to the very peak by creating something called a Divine Neuron.

Jaune took the pill out of his storage ring and ate it.

At first, nothing was happening, but then Jaune felt a flow of crystal clear, divine neurons opening up new pathways inside his head. The flow was non-stop. It was a pretty fantastic feeling. At that moment, Jaune felt like his brain was like a bottomless sea, one without limits, capable of taking in everything the world has to offer.

The downside to this is the limitation of his Arc of Embodiment. It only allows him to create the Divine Neurons for thirty minutes max as it is a modification to his body. But that was enough to understand the Magic Crest of Rin Tohsaka and improve upon it.
