CHAPTER 134

Tsukumo was walking down the hallway, holding Akeno carefully, when something crashed into him from behind. A familiar voice sounded.

"Ouch! What the hell?"

Tsukumo turned, staring in surprise as Hana seemingly appeared out of nowhere. "Hana?! Is that you?"

Hana blinked, then stood up. "Tsukumo? You broke yourself free? Here I was coming to rescue you!"

Tsukumo shifted from side to side. "Ahaha….well. Looks like you were a little late to the party."

It was then that Hana noticed Akeno, who was pale, and asleep in Tsukumo's arms.

"Oh my gosh! What happened to her?! Who did this?"

Tsukumo twitched, a little nervous. "Um, that would be me."

Hana peered at him suspiciously. "You? Why?"

Tsukumo sighed. "I'll tell you later. Right now I'm heading back to GaleWing. He's with my mom and the kids."

Hana looked flabbergasted. "Bwuh?! Wait what?! Kids? Your mom?! Tell me what's happening!"

Tsukumo sighed again, turning and walking again. "I'll tell you on the way follow me."

Hana fell into step with him.

"So, they have my mom sealed up here, and GaleWing's with her. Akeno told me this before she fainted. And by kids, I mean Quartz and the other three that Murmad kept locked up in here. Apparently he wanted to use their power and unseal the casket, then make my mom do whatever he wanted."

Hana nodded. "I see. You smell very bloody. What happened? I don't see any marks on you."

Tsukumo winced. "Later. I'll tell you later. We're here anyways."

Hana peered into the room they had arrived at, the huge ebony door still open. GaleWing was standing right next to the casket, and Quartz and the kids were messing around with the stuff in the room.

But Tsukumo hardly paid any attention to that. He was staring at his mother in the casket.

'She's awake!'

Tsukumo rushed over, about to touch the casket when GaleWing stopped him. "Think you idiot. If you touch the casket, your soul will be trapped with her."

Tsukumo ignored the snarky comment, but didn't touch the casket. "Mom! You're awake!"

She smiled. "My precious son, you're face to face with me at last. How I've missed you."

Tsukumo's gaze skittered around the room. "Ah, not in front of everyone!"

She laughed, it was music to Tsukumo's ears. "Oh alright. I'll stop, for now. Who's the girl in your arms? Your girlfriend?"

Tsukumo smiled. "Actually yes. She is. But she's really tired. Her name is Akeno."

Tsukumo's mother smiled. "What a pretty name. She's lucky to have a strong young man like you look after her."

Tsukumo backed away from the casket, his ear tips turning pink. "Stop already!"

GaleWing cleared his throat, interrupting their fun. "If you're quite finished, how about we continue this conversation once she's actually out."

Rayvahein smiled.* "Sounds wonderful. I am getting quite stiff in here."

GaleWing looked at Quartz, who was turning an antique lamp on and off. "Quartz, if you would please stop wasting electricity, I have a task for you."

The other three kids giggled when Quartz backed away in embarrassment.

She walked up to the casket, looking up. "I'm going to get you out now. This won't hurt."

Rayvahein nodded. "Alright. I trust you. Do your best!"

Quartz blushed. "Of course! Here goes!" She closed her eyes, placing her hands just above the glass, not quite touching.

"By my power of reversal, I command these seals to return to their spiritual masters! Unseal, and be gone!"

The seals glowed white hot, illuminating the room. Everyone covered their eyes, well, except for Tsukumo. He was holding Akeno so he squeezed them shut.

The glow faded, and the casket lid slid off onto the ground, without shattering.

Rayvahein got out, a little unsteady.

GaleWing supported her by the shoulders. "Easy now. Don't trip."

She shooed him off. "Don't be silly. I'm fine."

She turned her gaze upon Tsukumo, her fiery motherly spirit clear in the deep velvet red eyes.

Tsukumo started backing away, but she ran up to him, hugging him without hurting Akeno. "You can't escape me now! We are going to cuddle like there's no tomorrow!"

Tsukumo struggled to hold on to Akeno as Rayvahein continued to squeeze him. "Ack! Enough, I'm going to drop Akeno! Let go already!"

Everyone shared a chuckle at the sweet family reunion.

There was a cough, and everyone turned to the door.

Ukko Taerheart, Percival Taerheart, Cornelian Groundshaper and Tracer OneShot were all standing at the door.

Ukko Taerheart kneeled. "Lady Rayvahein. It is an honour to meet you again. Let us get back to the Agency, I'm sure you have a lot of information to tell us."

"Of course. Let us go."
