(Hello my dearest readers! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! Here's our little cheat sheet, (y/n)= your name, (e/c)= eye color, and (h/c)= hair color. Please review, and let me know what you guys think! I love hearing from you guys! Little warning this chapter starts getting more intense towards the end. And the next chapter will be full of hurt/comfort. Hope you enjoy this next chapter! On with the story!)

The winds of the cool planet blew softly against your face, and through your (h/c) hair. It was far too quiet for your liking, and that made you nervous. The planet was beautiful you had to admit. You were surrounded by fertile mountains, there was a large lake in front of you, a rocky canyon to your left that looked to have several caves, and the sky was a shade of light purple. Although the land was gorgeous you were far more concerned with the natives of the planet. The caves however were fantastic, you noted. From the information the other scientists had provided you knew that more than likely the aliens wouldn't follow you into the caves. They seemed to avoid the rocky pockets like they were a deadly disease.

You couldn't quite tell if it was just your paranoia, or if your gut feeling was right. But something was definitely off about this place, and you had always prided yourself on excellent intuition. Hell, it was one of the things that helped you become the Security Chief, and Chief Tactical Officer so easily.

"Listen up everyone, if we need a quick escape, and can't contact the Enterprise in time we'll head to the caves, ok?" You stated. You heard a chorus of confirmations, and your anxiety settled a bit.

"Nothing good ever happens in caves," Bones grumbled.

You giggled as quietly as possible, and your eyes were drawn to Bones. Just as you predicted your gaze could not be torn away from him. He stood shoulders tense, senses on high alert, and hand hovering close to his phaser.

The wind blew gently ruffling his brown hair, and you couldn't help but smile when a warm sensation began to fill your chest. You scanned the area once again, and looked over every member of the away team. Doing a mental checklist, everyone was there, and everyone was safe. You sighed as the feeling of unease lingered around the area like a thick fog. Your eyes settled on Bones again who noticed your gaze, and began walking towards you.

"Is it just me, or does this place seem off?" he asked, coming to stand next to you.

"You feel it too huh?" You questioned, glancing over at him, and away from the team for a moment.

Bones simply nodded, and mumbled something about this planet being a god-forsaken death trap. It felt like a wave of panic washed over you without any warning, and for no apparent reason. You looked to Bones who had obviously felt it too, and then looked back to the team.

"Guys, let's wrap it up-" You were promptly cut off as spears began raining down on the away team.

Orders were being shouted, people began running, and phasers were being fired. It was utter chaos as a group of aliens decloaked their speeders while racing towards you.

"Everyone fall back! Make a break for the caves!" You shouted.

Thankfully everyone heard you over the noise, and began to run towards the mountains. You knew you had to get to the caves before you could get in contact with the Enterprise. You desperately needed cover, and you could only hope that even in the caves you could contact Scotty. You looked back at the aliens still close on your tail, and your eyes widened in horror as you realized one of their spears was aimed right for one of the scientists. Without thinking you pushed the poor young scientist out of the way just enough to not get hit, but not enough to make him fall over.

Eyes wide, he simply nodded his thanks when he realized what you had just done. You nodded back, and focused your eyes on the caves. The team was almost there, just a few more feet. You all finally skidded to a stop in the safety of the cave, you stood between the entrance and your team, phaser at the ready.

Thankfully your theory about the aliens was correct. They didn't follow you, but the cave entrance began to shake a few seconds later. You heard a loud banging noise above you that sounded like small explosions. You realized in horror the mouth was collapsing from the aliens dropping explosives above the mouth.

"EVERYONE GET BACK!" You screamed, grabbing one of your security officers, and dragging him further inside.

Rocks and dust fell from the ceiling in streams, and the ground rumbled harder. You fell to the ground as someone slammed into you from the ground's violent shaking. You quickly realized who it was, and your heart began to beat even faster, if that was possible.

Bones was preparing to roll off, but quickly took a protective stance over you once he realized who was under him. You moved your hands to clasp them behind his head in an attempt to shield one of the most vital places of his body as a small sign of protection. It was the least you could do seeing as he was completely shielding you.

The ground gave one last vicious shake before the mouth of the cave fully collapsed. Thankfully you were all inside enough to be protected from the collapse. You blinked as you opened your eyes only to be met with complete darkness. You tried to shift out from under Bones, but he didn't move. You unclasped your hands from his head, which was now resting on your shoulder. Your heart jumped into your throat as your thoughts began to race, and you feared the worst when weight above you still pressed into you.

"Bones? Bones?" You called out, each time getting louder," Dr. McCoy?"

"Calm down, I just need a second," Bones finally responded," My tricorder is in my left pocket. Can you grab it? Give us some light."

You did as Bones had asked, and began feeling down his side, over his hip, and into his pocket. Thankfully it was there, and you pulled it out with ease. Its light blue color bathed you in soft dim light. With the slight illumination you were finally able to see just how close he was. Your noses were inches apart, his breath brushed your lips, and your cheeks began to heat up.

"Guess you want me off," he smirked.

Oh how you wanted to say no, to pull him into a kiss, hold him close, and never let go. But unfortunately you had a mission to finish. You simply hummed in response.

He shifted, and moved from on top of you. He groaned slightly as dirt, and rocks fell off him when he stood up. You were sure he would have plenty of bruises, and pain in the following days. You stood as well, and moved to check on the rest of the team with , and communicators all opened, but the pale blue light was barely enough for them to see properly. Thankfully it was all minor injuries. One of your team, the man you drug into the cave whose name was Lieutenant David Scarrow, had a deep cut on his forehead. One of the scientists, Leah Chang, had a badly sprained ankle. And the worst of all was a broken finger from one of your young guards, Ensign Adam O'Leary. No toxin filled cuts, no flesh melting off bone, no viengs set afire. No more deaths.

"There, good as new," You said as you finished splinting Ensign O'Leary's finger, and gave him a reassuring smile. You looked over to see the other scientists, Ensign Samantha Romanoff and Chrissy Anrews, futilely trying to contact the Enterprise.

"Everyone else is all taken care of," Bones said from somewhere close behind you," Lieutenant Scarrow wasn't cut by one of the aliens, seems a rock hit him during the collapse. One less thing we have to worry about in this goddamn disaster."

You began to stand up, but was quickly brought to your knees by the sharp unbearable pain in your side. A cry escaped your lips, and a hand flew to the source of the pain. You looked at your hand which was now doused with blood, and veins turning purple quickly.

"Shit," was all you could say, as your panicked (e/c) eyes locked with Bones' equally panicked hazel ones. And suddenly the world went dark, and nothing was fine.
