Five and Elsie split up as they started searching for Diego. Both pausing outside their chosen rooms and sharing a look of concern as they heard a car engine roaring away from what sounded like outside. Five frowned, but stopped himself from spatial jumping to investigate when Elsie touched his arm.

"We might as well keep looking, if it wasn't Diego he could be in trouble." Elsie pointed out, making Five sigh but nod. She sent Five a small smile before releasing him and returning to her door.

Elsie let out a small grunt as she pushed the door open, glancing around at the mannequins before continuing in to check the doors, behind couches, anywhere Diego could be. Seeing nothing to indicate Diego was nearby or had even been in the room, she let out a breath and leaned against a desk, eyeing the scene in front of her with slightly narrowed eyes. She picked up the nearest folder, scoffing at the title Mothers and Daughters and tossing it to the side to eye the two mannequins, one adult and one child, cuddling on the couch. Unable to help herself she took a few steps forward, taking a seat on the nearby coffee table to glare at the taller mannequin.

She heard the door open behind her, followed by a light sigh of relief from Five. Elsie continued to stare at the scene even as she heard Five move closer.

"You know, I always wondered if she even noticed when I ran away." Elsie admitted, not looking at Five as he stopped behind her. Five looked over at her, his eyes drifting between the scene and Elsie.

"Technically I kidnapped you and trapped you in the future." Five eventually responded, shrugging his shoulders and throwing his hands in his pockets. Elsie snorted.

"Five, even if you hadn't decided to have a ego trip that day, it wouldn't have changed much. I probably would have left eventually." Five rolled his eyes at the small jibe but held his hand out to her. Elsie hummed to herself before taking the hand and standing, Five offering a small squeeze of comfort. Elsie turned her head to look at Five before glancing back.

"I made the right choice." She declared, surprising Five with how sure she sounded. Elsie spun back to him, placing a quick kiss on his cheek and pulling him out the room.

Five managed to recover from his surprise as they got to the corridor, leaning over to kiss Elsie on the cheek and making her smile. They shared a glance before dropping hands and returning to their search.

The two continued until they reached the end of the corridor and pushed the last door open. They glanced around at the big warehouse like space before splitting up to cover more ground. Elsie frowned as she spotted what appeared to be a puddle and walked over to investigate as Five looked around the opposite side for clues. He turned back at Elsie's call, his eyes narrowing as he appeared beside her.

There was a small puddle of blood, but that wasn't all that had caught Elsie's attention. There was a very distinct drag line, indicating whoever had been stabbed had also then been dragged for a short while before the trail was half wiped away.

"There was more than just Diego here." Elsie muttered, glancing around around for more evidence. Five nodded.

"Mhmm, but who got stabbed?" Five questioned.

Elsie shrugged in response, letting out a breath as she took a walk towards where the trail disappeared. Five followed behind her, looking around for anything else that could help work out what happened. Elsie frowned as she noticed some footprints and broken glass. She looked up at the nearby building, gesturing to Five. The two of them staring at the smashed window. Elsie let out a grunt as she began climbing up a pile of crates to get a closer look, only to sigh and jump back down when she couldn't see anything else. They looked around for a bit longer before Five stopped.

"We need to get back to Elliot's." Five sighed, Elsie looking over at him. She glanced around at the scene one last time before she let out a breath and started nodding, seeing the logic. It would be the only way to find out if it was Diego that had left all that time ago, it would be the only place he would and could head back to.

She held out her hand to Five who took it without question, and spacial jumped the two of them back to Elliot's.

As the arrived in the kitchen, the two of them paused, taking a quiet moment to take in the situation in front of them. A naked Diego was lying unconscious, covered by only a towel, with Lila on top performing first aid on Diego's new stab wound. Five and Elsie shared a look but neither of them said anything as they continued to watch Lila, Elsie both impressed and concerned with the First aid she was performing.

She was trained in first aid; she hadn't had much of a choice if her and Five wanted to survive. She'd had to learn about it from books in the apocalypse. She'd gotten plenty of practice on herself and Five during the apocalypse and then more working for the commission. She didn't think she'd know it if she hadn't gotten stuck, she wouldn't have needed to. So considering the time she was from, it seemed unusual for someone from the 60s to know how to react to a stab wound, even living in a medical facility 24/7. Lila wouldn't have been taught to know that even if she was, she shouldn't have access to bandages, scissors, or anything she could use to hurt herself or other people. Lila shouldn't know that unless she was lying about something.

Five eyed Elsie with an air of confusion, seeing her frowning at Lila, but said nothing about it. He could tell she'd become suspicious of Lila, he was too. Lila had been taking everything too well, she'd been taking it better than someone that would be classed as fully sane.

Five gave Elsie's hand a squeeze to gain her attention. Elsie shook her head of her thoughts, and looked over at him, seeing Fives raised eyebrow as he silently asked if she was ok. She offered a tight smile in return but nodded her head. Five nodded once in return before taking a step forward, acting as if they'd just arrived back.

"Oh. He isn't dead." Five sighed as he walked into the main room that Lila had Diego in.

"Disappointed?" Lila asked, sensing something in Fives tone as Elsie walked past him to pick up a gauze and some rubbing alcohol from the table beside Diego's unconscious form.

"Oh, to see you? Always." Five retorted, Elsie placing the alcohol covered gauze on his neck wound, earning a small smile of thanks from him.

"So much hostility in such a tiny package. Did you cut yourself shaving? I could teach you to shave like a big boy." Lila quipped, picking up on the neck injury. Elsie kept her back to Lila as she started to clean Fives wound, rolling her eyes at Lila's comment. She half turned her head to make a snide comment back only to stop and frown as she clocked Elliot sleeping, still tied to the chair. Five, not noticing Elsie's attention waver, turned his head to the side to allow Elsie access and let out a sigh.

"No, I just ran into an old family friend." Five admitted, as Elsie turned her head to Lila.

"You didn't untie him?" Elsie asked, gesturing with her free hand to Elliot. Five turned to glance at the sleeping man.

"Was I supposed to?" Lila responded too innocently. Elsie nearly rolled her eyes again but resisted, instead lifted Fives hand to hold the gauze as she went and grabbed cable cutters from the desk.

Lila went back to trying to wrap Diego's wound as Five followed Elsie to the kitchen, watching her quietly mutter to herself as she untied Elliot who remained asleep. He could see her eyes glowing lightly as she snipped the cables but said nothing as he finished wiping his cut with the gauze. There was silence for about three minutes before Elsie let out a hiss of pain, having cut herself while not paying attention. Five jumped up at the hiss, almost expecting an attack. He eyed her as her eyes glowed brighter for a moment and slowly moved closer, only for her to scrunch her eyes closed let out a frustrated breath, turn, and launch the wire cutters into the wall in the opposite side of the room. Five frowned at her.

"El?" Elsie glanced back at the concerned tone, her arms falling to her sides and her gaze falling to her hands. A look of uncertainty crossed her face.

Five gently walked over, throwing the gauze on the table, and grabbing her hand. He jumped the two of them down to the alley where they'd first arrived, having spotted Lila watching them with interest. He released Elsie's hand and took a step back as she began to pace. It didn't take long for Elsie to let out a breath and turn to him.

"She's going to try and kill us." Elsie finally revealed before starting to pace again. Five frowned, knowing that wasn't her real issue but knowing he needed to let her get things out to allow her to get to the main issue. He glanced back up where they left Lila.

"I mean, she can try." Five shrugged, unconcerned. Elsie shook her head.

"Not her. Well, she might. She gives me migraines when I try to look. I'm talking about The Handler." Elsie rambled as she paced. Five frowned at her but said nothing as she waited for her to explain.

"I keep seeing it Five, every time I dream, she always wakes me up by shooting me in the forehead." Elsie revealed stopping directly in front of him and tapping her skull. Five stared at her.

"Why bring this up now? Did you see it while you were awake?" Five asked taking in the information but not knowing what exactly to do about it right now. Elsie sighed and shook her head

"No… no… I just…" Elsie shook her head letting out another breath before continuing, her emotions seeming to be getting the better of her "Five, I don't know how to fix this, our apocalypse seemed so easy. We had a lead. I just feel we're going round in circle's and I'm worried Five. We've been doing this for far to long to know it's going to end all sunshine and lollipops."

It had been slowly getting to her since Hazel was killed. The two of them didn't have long to work this out. Fives siblings were spread out and they hadn't even found Allison, Klaus's, or Vanya yet, they had no leads except Mr Hargreeves who was like a ghost. It felt impossible. She knew they'd dealt with it before but it was frustrating her. And her teenage body and mind was reacting to this situation exactly like she used to, letting it build up until she exploded. It was her job to know what was going to happen, and she didn't.

Five stared at her as she let out a few breaths before falling against the wall. He could see how stressed she was just by the way her hands balled up at her sides, and knew she was getting so close to loosing her patience, and he knew how dangerous that could be. Elsie was always so calm and collected or always seemed that way on the surface, but that was only after years of practice. When they'd first began at the commission, there wasn't a mission they'd return from that she wouldn't be injured from rushing or taking out frustration, and it was not something Five wanted to repeat. He reached out and took her hand.

"We could retire?" Five offered, realising how far Elise had ended up following him since they'd first landed in the apocalypse all those years ago, "Have margaritas on the beach, road trips, cruises." He listed; Elsie let out a dry laugh.

"I just told you someone's going to kill us, and you offer retirement?" Five let out a chuckle and shrugged.

"You've followed me everywhere, maybe it's my turn." He offered. Elsie looked up at him, seeing the honesty in his eyes before letting out a sigh and shaking her head.

"I love you Five." She smiled before shaking her head, "I'd love to retire, and a road trip sounds amazing… but we need to sort out the timeline."

"I love you too." He returned, knowing she needed to hear it and holding out something he'd smuggled into his pocket. Elsie narrowed her eyes at him but continued smiling as she took it.

"You knew I was wanting to retire." Elsie accused. Five nodding with a smirk, watching as she held up a tour map of America.

"Ahh well when you live around a psychic all the time, bound to pick up a few things." He shrugged, sticking his hands back in his pockets. Elsie leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek before glancing at the map once more. The two of them knew this wouldn't fix everything or stop her worrying, but it was calming for her to know that they had a plan, something to look forward to. It was reassuring to Elsie to know Five had plans for once the timeline was back to normal, something they could do instead of chasing apocalypses. Elsie felt her smile to fall and a determined look to cross her face, handing Five back the map to put in his pocket.

"We need to fix the timeline." Five eyed her for a moment, checking she was fully ready before nodding, sticking the map in his pocket and holding a hand out to her. Elsie took his hand, the two reappearing back in the kitchen.

Elsie and Five shared a look and decided it best to try and avoid contact with Lila who they could still see in the main living area. Diego was still unconscious, and Elliot was now up and over at a desk munching on cereal. Elsie shared a glance with Five, gesturing to the coffee pot. He threw her a smile and nodded, moving to lean in the doorway to keep an eye on Lila as Elsie prepared some coffee. She was about to pour two mugs when some alarms started blaring from beside Elliot.

"Hey, we got one." Elliot called over to them, Five immediately starting to walk over, "Hey, one of those machines you asked for is going crazy."

"Which one?" Five asked as Elsie came over, realising this much have been a conversation when she'd been in the shower.

"It's the, uh, atmospheric radar." Elliot replied, showing them a small screen with a radar.

"Good." Five muttered as he leaned down to get a good look.

"I don't get it. What are you tracking? A hurricane? A storm front?" Elliot questioned.

"Sound waves." Five revealed making Elsie look over at him. He sent her a smirk as she grabbed his hand. Five spatial jumping the two of them to the location on the radar. Elsie frowned as they arrived beside a massive corn field and looked over at Five. He let out a sigh.

"It wasn't that accurate." He muttered to her making her roll her eyes. Elsie glanced around, her eyes focusing on a car with the back windscreen shot out. She gestured to Five who frowned at the scene, leading the two of them over. They took their time examining the car and surrounding, eyeing the damage, and sharing a grim look.

"Think it's the Swedes? The ones that killed Hazel?" Elsie eventually asked, Five nodding his head.

"Had to be. They're trying to pick us off." Five agreed, turning his attention back to the cornfield where they could vaguely see some damaged crops.

Elsie let out a hum and slid down the verge into the field. She closed her eyes, letting her instincts try and guide her through the field to Vanya. Five followed her, grabbing her hand as she started to disappear into the corn. The two walked for a few hundred metres, Five admiring Vanya's handiwork as Elsie led them through. It wasn't much longer until Elsie paused hearing a sound, opening her eyes to look around. Five glanced at her before moving to take the lead, hoping it was Vanya but being prepared to jump the two in the case it wasn't. He let out a breath as he noticed the familiar face in front of him.

"Hi, Vanya." Five greeted, pushing some corn apart that the girl had hid in. Elsie peeked over his shoulder, offering a wave in greeting.

"Who are you?" Vanya asked, earning a confused look from Elsie and Five, the two of them quickly realising from the blank stares and lack of violence towards them, that she had amnesia.

"I'm your brother." Five explained, taking a step back to allow Vanya space to stand.

"I have a brother? And, and a sister?" Vanya questioned, eyeing Elsie who faltered for a moment.

"Um, no I'm, I'm… 15 so… it's a long story… go with family friend?" She stuttered, it suddenly occurring to her how nuts her and Five would sound to anyone outside the Hargreeves family if they proclaim to be husband and wife. Five shook his head at her.

"Look, you can either stay here and wait for the IKEA mafia to come back to kill you, or you can come with us." Five interjected, seeing Vanya looking at Elsie confused, before turning and walking back the way Elsie had taken them.

"Wh... Why are they trying to kill me?" Vanya asked, following her brother as Elsie took up the rear.

"'Cause you're not supposed to be here, Vanya." Elsie explained.

"In Dallas?" Vanya replied, turning back to Five who frowned.

"No. Here, in 1963." Five shrugged, as they got to the clearing Vanya had clearly created with her powers, creating the readings they'd gotten.

"Holy shit." Vanya exclaimed, eyeing the damaged crops.

"Yeah, pretty wild, right? It's good to see your powers are still intact. Let's go." Five ordered lightly, leading the way. Vanya opened her mouth to ask another question, but Elsie cut in before she could.

"We know you have questions Vanya but let's get somewhere safe before we start explaining." Vanya nodded her head in agreement, following quietly behind Five though it was clear to anyone that looked at her she was still processing everything.

Eventually the small group got to the edge of the field, Vanya immediately heading over to her car. Elsie and Five followed behind, not offering an explanation as to how they'd gotten to the field without transport. Elsie slid in the back as Five jumped in the front, Vanya reversing the car out and driving towards town at Fives request. It wasn't far before Five pointed over to a diner. The two teens and Vanya got out the car, immediately heading in and over to the counter.

Elsie took the seat the furthest away from the door, offering the waitress a smile. The waitress eyed Elsie curiously as Five sat down beside her and Vanya beside him.

"3 black coffees please ma'am." Elsie ordered politely. The women stared for a while before letting out a breath and grabbing the mugs. She filled up all three and was about to walk with the pot when Five piped up.

"Leave the pot, dear." He asked, making Elsie turn to him with a raised eyebrow. He rolled his eyes at her but turned back to the waitress, "Thank you."

"Lippy little shit." The waitress muttered as she walked away, earning Five a smug smirk from Elsie.

"You gonna tell me what the hell's going on?" Vanya finally asked the two teens, seeing Five about to make a remark. Elsie and Five turned to look at her, Five letting out a breath.

"When you were a baby, you were bought by an eccentric billionaire. He raised you in an elite academy with six other siblings with extraordinary powers, but in the year 2019, in order to avoid the apocalypse, we jumped into a vortex and ended up being scattered throughout the timeline in Dallas, Texas. Any questions?" Five explained. Elsie silently nodding along behind him before realising how this all would sound to someone normal and lifting a hand up to rub her face.

"Maybe we are nuts." She whispered to herself, earning a light nudge from Five.

"What do you mean, "the apocalypse"?" Vanya finally asked, staring at the two with an edge of fear, thinking they were crazy.

"We mean the end of the world as we know it." Elsie offered this time, knowing she should be gentle with the topic but feeling the pressure of time that was slowly running out.

"Yeah, but how?" Vanya insisted. Five glanced at Elsie, wondering if he should tell the truth. Elsie looked back down at her coffee, Five seeing her eyes glowing lightly as she started to weigh up all the options.

"You really don't remember anything?" Five clarified, turning back to face Vanya and buying Elsie some time. Vanya eyed the two of them, shaking her head slightly.

"No, nothing before a month ago." She admitted.

"Then what do you remember?" Five asked immediately, watching her carefully. Vanya looked down at her coffee for a moment as she thought it over.

"I landed in, like, a... back alley. Got hit by a car. My head was ringing like crazy. I had no idea how I got there, where I came from." Vanya recalled before repeating, "What causes the apocalypse?"

Five looked down for a moment in thought, giving a sideways glance to Elsie who was now staring at Vanya. Elsie let out a breath, deciding to speak up.

"Asteroid impact." Elsie offered, going for a half truth seeing the potential for immediate disaster if they told her the whole truth. Five nodded along, twisting his head back to Vanya.

"The big kaboom ends everything. Just like the one that got the dinosaurs, except way worse. Bad news is, it followed us here." Five admitted.

"What do you mean, "followed us"?" Vanya asked.

"Eight days from now, the world ends in a nuclear doomsday. It's a different disease, but... same result." Five explained. Vanya stared at the two, almost waiting for them to start laughing and telling her it was a joke, but seeing their grim faces, shook her head.

"That can't be right." She denied.

"I saw it. With my own eyes." Five countered, letting out a sigh, "You were there. We all were."

Elsie turned to look back down at her mug, taking a small sip as she remembered watching the nukes come in, she hadn't shown it but she'd been concerned Five would want to stay with his family and she'd have to face this alone. She knew in her heart that Five wouldn't have stayed, but in the moment, it had been a real concern, he could be slightly unpredictable when it came to his family. She feared what would have happened if he had stayed. Trying to fix the timeline alone would have been near impossible, she doubted she'd have had the energy or heart to do it anyway, not without Five. He was always the one that had kept them going, and even if his methods hadn't been the most conventional, he still got the job done.

"Shit. I need to make a phone call." Vanya suddenly declared, jumping up from the chair and over to the pay phone on the wall behind them.

"Vanya." Five called over, about to tell her they didn't have time when Elsie put a hand over his. He turned to see her shaking her head and holding up 3 fingers, trying to tell him to give Vanya three minutes. He let out a breath and glared at the floor in acceptance before the two twisted their chairs around to watch Vanya at the phone, both swirling their coffees as they listened.

"Sissy?" Vanya called down the phone.

"I'm so sorry I took the station wagon." Vanya apologised, looking down as she listened to the person on the other end. Elsie took a sip of her coffee, giving a warning look to a now foot tapping Five.

"I'm fine." Vanya responded, glancing briefly over at Five and Elsie.

"I found my younger brother and a family friend." Vanya replied to whatever had been asked. Elsie sent her a small smile.

"It's a long story. Is Harlan okay?" The conversation continued, Elsie letting out a breath and looking at Five who let out a frustrated breath and jumped off his chair. She rolled her eyes but followed his lead and hopped down.

"As soon as I can, I promise." Vanya responded just before Five pressed down on the button to hang up the phone. Vanya glared over in anger.

"What the hell?" Vanya hissed at him.

"We don't have time for this." Five countered as Elsie came over to the two.

"That's my friend you just hung up on." Vanya retorted angrily, turning to put another quarter in the machine. Five grabbed her shoulders to stop her.

"Listen to me." He demanded before glancing around and dropping to a whisper, "Those people from the field are coming after us. They are never going to stop. Do you understand me? We need to stick together, find the others, figure out how to stop doomsday. Whoever this person is, they can't be more important than the end of the world. We need to go."

Vanya eyed the two before her shoulders dropped and she nodded her head. Five released his hold and took a step back as Elsie threw her an apologetic smile, knowing it would be a lot for Vanya to take in.

The group of three left the diner as soon as Elsie had slapped down some change that she had pickpocketed. They returned to the car, Five suggesting it best to try and round up Luther so that all the Hargreeves that had found were at least together. Elsie had nodded her head in agreement, knowing it would be easier to predict movements and see possibilities if they were all together and planning. Vanya said nothing to argue, excited to meet another sibling.

Elsie had closed her eyes, her eyes glowing lightly before she opened them again. Five glanced back at her from the passenger seat.

"Try the fighting ring we investigated." Elsie suggested, Five nodding and turning to Vanya to give directions. Elsie said nothing as they drove, the roads being quiet enough to not cause a concern, and decided to take a small nap.

The group of three arrived at the ring fairly quickly and climbed out the car. Elsie glanced at Five and Vanya, throwing him a smirk before deciding to take point for a change. Five let out a small sigh and rolled his eyes but didn't argue as Elsie led them towards the front door. Five shook his head as he realised why she wanted to be the first at the door.

"How's the eye?" Elsie quipped as she smirked. The man on the door being the man she'd incapacitated not a couple days ago.

The man glanced over at the voice, his face drifting between rage and fear as he eyed the group. The two stared each other down, Elsie's eyes narrowing dangerously as another man came over from inside, having noticed the odd situation.

"Should we do something?" Elsie heard Vanya whisper to Five.

"Elsie can take care of herself." Five replied, not that worried but keeping a close eye on the situation incase Elsie would need a hand.

"Look, we don't want any trouble…" The new man from indoors shrugged, sensing something was going on but knowing that with this being one of the busiest nights they couldn't afford anything going wrong.

"You won't have any." Elsie promised with a tense shrug, "just let me and my friends in."

"Look kid…" The new man started, earning a dirty glare from Elsie.

"Call me that again, and you'll end up like your friend here." She threatened, turning back to the original man, "We wouldn't want a repeat of our previous meeting."

The newer guard looked over at his colleague with a frown, not knowing what exactly had happened but beginning to suspect that the eye injury hadn't been from a gang of men as he had been led to believe. The original guard, eyed Elsie before letting out a grunt and backing out the way to allow her access. Elsie instantly smiled sweetly.

"Thank you gentlemen. Come on dear." She called back to Five who smirked and shook his head at her before following. Vanya glanced between the two, not knowing what to make off the scene.

Elsie waited just inside for Five, the two of them walking side by side as Vanya walked just behind them. They walked together towards the area they could hear people shouting and yelling, coming up to a ring where they could see Luther taking on someone else.

Five grabbed Elsie's hand, tugging her along the side of the arena so they were just at the side of the ring as they watched the fight between the two men. Vanya following along behind them, staring around at all the people screaming before looking back at the fight.

Luther appeared to be getting the upper hand, when he suddenly froze in the ring, looking off into the distance. Elsie and Five shared a look as the other guy took a step over, punching Luther in the face. Luther didn't react, earning another punch in the face from his opponent. Luther still did nothing, his opponent making the most of Luther's daze.

"Look, he's pummeling him." Vanya muttered to Elsie and Five who nodded.

"What's he doing?" Elsie murmured to Five. Just as Luthers opponent threw him across the ring in their direction.

"Oh, my God, Luther." Vanya winced as Luther's back hit the side of the ring.

"Why isn't he fighting back?" Five asked, concerned about his brother. Elsie shrugged, also eyeing Luther with a level of concern, they knew he could take this guy in his sleep if he wanted.

The group watched in appalled silence as Luther continued to get beaten, doing nothing to defend himself.

"Luther, are you crazy? Just hit him!" Five called across, not enjoying watching his brother getting beaten to a pulp. Elsie squeezed Fives hand in comfort, wincing as Luther got punched again and again when his opponent suddenly went in for the final blow. Luther practically flew through the air, landing with a massive thud on the hay covered ring floor.

Elsie and Five shared another look as the crowd instantly turned sour, booing the winner as Luther laid unconscious on the floor.

"Shit. Luther." Five breathed, eyeing his unconscious brother with shock.

"Why didn't he fight back?" Vanya questioned, also seeming to be in shock at the outcome.

Neither Five or Elsie answered. The two of them continuing to look on in shock at an unconscious Luther. Elsie eventually blinked and let out a breath, turning to Five.

"He's going to be a pain to move."
